It was created by FrenchCanadian Creative Director Mathieu St-Arnaud and his team at Montreal-based Normal Studio. Beyond Van Gogh will only be in St. Louis between Oct. 1 through Nov. 7. Exhibition hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Four entry times are available each hour. ‘BEAUTIFUL BY NATURE’ IS THE MOTTO OF THOSE REPRESENTING THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS -- A REPUTATION STEMMING FROM THE CRYSTALLINE TURQUOISE WATERS, WHITE SAND BEACHES, WORLD-CLASS SPAS, PARADISE DINING MENUS, CULTURAL TRADITIONS, SHOPPING, OUTDOOR ADVENTURES AND 40-PLUS ISLANDS OR CAYS ADMIRED THERE. Each island and cay in the archipelago is a destination on its own, says Marcie Boyle, owner of RSVP Events & Travel and Travel Leaders Chesterfield, noting that Travel + Leisure voted the destination one of the best 50 places to travel. The region consists of the larger Caicos Islands and smaller Turks Islands, two groups of tropical islands in the Lucayan Archipelago of the Atlantic Ocean and northern West Indies. “The first time I flew in [into TCI], the colors of the ocean simply took my breath away. Turquoise that you’ve never seen before,” recalls Marcie. “Pictures simply don’t do it justice. The white sand, the crystal clear water for miles, is simply stunning. It quickly became my favorite island, and after several returns, I continue to feel that way.” Making the island even more unique and organic is that it’s virtually untapped by retail chains. Marcie says all TCI hotels were individually owned until the arrival of The Ritz this year. The restaurants and bars are owned by locals, she adds. “Everyone has a recommendation about where to go, and no one ever steers you wrong. Just ask your cab driver, bellman or concierge, and they will send you to some of the best of the best,” she says. CONTINUED >

St. Charles County Lifestyle | September 2021

People who go to Turks and Caicos looking for all-inclusive packages do themselves a disservice, Marcie believes. She says the community’s food and hospitality locations are worth every penny. Marcie definitely recommends staying at the luxury oceanfront resort West Bay Club at which guests envelop themselves in beachside serenity and contemporary Caribbean style. It’s known for providing a relaxed, laid-back boutique setting for family vacations, personal getaways or couples seeking some peace and quiet. A full-service spa, as well as a picturesque infinity pool ringed by loungers and palm trees, awaits visitors. West Bay Club also offers sunning, sailing and snorkeling along an uncrowded strip of Grace Bay Beach. Guests state the resort’s 46 studios and suites strike an effortless balance between homey and elegant. TCI is a British overseas territory with Providenciales (known as Provo locally) as an island in the northwest Caicos Islands. Marcie really enjoys Provo’s Grace Bay and Long Bay area. Marcie says Provo is an amazing spot for destination weddings. Because she’s planned some there, she’s happy to help with details. She says it’s also a wonderful honeymoon spot. “Some stay at a popular resort and then do a few nights in a more remote location like Amanyara or Parrot Caye,” she explains.

LOCAL LIMELIGHT

The Evolving World of Anti-Aging and Aesthetic Beauty ARTICLE JUDY PETERS PHOTOGRAPHY JANET WATKINS

TOSHA DOVE-FREUND, MSN, AGNP HAS ALWAYS HAD A PASSION TO HELP OTHERS ACHIEVE THEIR OPTIMUM LEVEL OF HEALTH AND BEAUTY. Born and raised in St. Charles, she obtained her R.N. then spent time in the ER and critical care environment. She has since obtained her Adult Nurse Practitioner License and continues to gain expertise and knowledge within the aesthetic field of health and wellness. With the help of internationally known injection specialists and board-certified plastic surgeons, Tosha obtained master level certifications in Neuromodulators, Dermal Filler, and facial rejuvenation. She is the Founder & Master Aesthetic Injector for Estetica Medspa in Winghaven. Tosha explains that the recent trend in the constantly evolving anti-aging and aesthetic industry is “combination therapy,” which includes multiple procedures involving healthy skincare regimens, wrinkle reduction, volume replacement in the aging face, and skin resurfacing and tightening. “The most popular trend, and not so “tabu” anymore, are Botox and dermal fillers,” she says. “Botox is the number one non-surgical procedure in the U.S. and is beneficial in reducing and preventing facial wrinkles and other signs of aging. These include Botox brow lifts, under eye fillers, hydrated lips, and contouring of the cheeks, temples, and lower face.”

26

St. Charles County Lifestyle | September 2021

ESTETICA MEDSPA OWNER TALKS TRENDS

“In addition, Microneedling with PRP (platelet rich plasma) — a treatment used to increase collagen and assist with uneven skin tone, texture, fine lines, and acne scarring — can be used for facial rejuvenation as well as hair loss,” she adds. “Kybella is a fat dissolving injectable treatment used to permanently dissolve unwanted fat under the chin and other areas of the body. Combined with radiofrequency or ultrasound, Kybella can provide great results that are least invasive.” She also recommends a medical grade skincare regimen for optimal results in skin care. “Medical grade products are used to combat skin conditions such as acne, age spots, aging skin, large pores, and broken blood vessels or Rosacea. These products, available under the direct supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner, offer the highest level of active ingredients to actually make changes in the skin. Over the counter products are designed to sit on the surface of the skin while medical grade products penetrate the epidermis which provides a stronger result.” For more information or to make an appointment at EaMedSpa.com/.
