Have you ever wondered, “Do fathers matter? What differences do I make in my home as a dad?” Let’s start with the simple answer — the importance of a father is tremendous! Fathers make countless differences in their home and family. However, how much impact you decide to make as a dad is entirely up to you!
As many of you will probably relate to, I am the only child of a divorce that occurred when I was a baby. I didn’t know my father at all until I was 6 years old, when my mother called him in another State and told him that I needed him in my life. He dropped his entire life and moved to the City/ State we lived in and immediately became one of the most important relationships in my life. I still remember to this day meeting my Dad for the first time, in my memory, looking into his eyes and immediately hugging him and welcoming him into my life. It was as though we had always been together and even to this day, we are extremely close, even living in different states once again.
A father’s gifts of quality time, life-giving words, and positive actions have a long-lasting impact on his children.
As I reflect on fatherhood this month, here are just a few of the ways dads can build up their home:
· A father’s strength can be powerful
· A dad’s words can be fueling and inspirational
· Hugs from a dad can be deeply comforting
· A dad’s smiles can instill joy and confidence
· Time with a dad can be fun and productive
· A dad’s physicality can be challenging
· A dad’s guidance can be life-changing and foundational
· A father’s correction can be life-saving and life-giving
· Adventures with a dad can be exciting and memorable
Let your father or a father figure in your life know how much he matters to you. And if you are a dad, let us be the first to say - thank you. You are invaluable to the people who know and need you as well as the community around you.
Happy Father’s Day!

Power washing professionals bringing a fresh look to homes
andbusinesses
ARTICLE BY MICHELLE W. PARNELL PHOTOGRAPHY BY JORDAN ROGERSOver the last few months, a fresh look has shown up at homes and businesses around the Charlotte area due to two Rolling Suds Power Washing teams led by Jacob Davis and Rene Morales. Although Rolling Suds is new to the area, Davis and Morales benefit from the company’s thirty plus years of knowledge and experience poured into mentoring, training, and consultations to excel with each project.
“The chemicals we use are environmentally friendly, dissipate quickly, and are safe to use on properties with families and pets.”
Rolling Suds specializes in power washing exterior surfaces of homes including roofs, porches, decks, and driveways. For commercial properties, the crews are equipped to clean parking garages, apartment complexes, office buildings, industrial buildings, and more.
There are several aspects of the Rolling Suds system that set it apart from other companies, starting with the trucks. “We have 16 foot by 10 foot box trucks and each truck carries 1,000 gallons of liquid, 900 gallons of water and 100 gallons of chemicals,” explained Morales. “We also have a hot water tank on each truck, which assists with degreasing spots and working in parking garages as well. We're able to do take care of multiple issues at one time without having to go back to the warehouse and refill.”
Another differentiating factor includes the equipment on the trucks and how that equipment is utilized. “Each truck has three pumps that each put out 10 gallons a minute. With three of them, they're
putting out 30 gallons of liquid a minute,” said Davis. “We can handle that output because of the amount of water we carry on each truck. The pumps also allow us to easily reach and clean buildings 4 to 5 stories tall from the ground.”
Multiple hoses on each truck permit several team members to be working on different aspects of the same project, allowing the crew to work more quickly, especially during larger projects. Special nozzles designed by the company also ensure that water and chemicals easily reach several stories off the ground without additional equipment. For very tall buildings that reach greater than 5 stories high, Rolling Suds has multiple solutions, including partnering with other companies to use lifts and drones.
Rolling Suds uses a variety of chemicals to address different cleaning needs and surface textures, including for soft washes. The teams also dilute chemicals to appropriate ratios and ensure protection of plants
during services. “The chemicals we use are environmentally friendly, dissipate quickly, and are safe to use on properties with families and pets,” explained Davis. “Running the chemicals through the pumps also permits us to move about two to three times faster than the competition.”
All these different elements and upgrades in equipment combine to make for fast, high-quality service. “I recently did a consultation for a parking garage and estimated it would take our team about two weeks to complete the project depending on the type of pressure washing they wanted,” said Morales. “When I asked how long it took the last company to do the project, they said it took about six months. That is a significant time difference and it’s all due to the efficiency of the equipment. Less time means less inconvenience for residents having to park elsewhere during the duration of the project.”
Both Davis and Morales have backgrounds where customer service and professionalism are important. As a result, they appreciate being part of an established company, which helps guarantee a level of professionalism and accountability. “Our team members are personable, knowledgeable, professional, and trustworthy,” said Morales. “We show up on time, in clearly marked trucks, wearing the company polo shirt, and have business cards and information folders we can provide to clients.” Rollings Suds also guarantees quality work and satisfied customers, ensuring each job is done well.
Becoming part of the Rolling Suds team has brought exciting changes for both men. “I really enjoy the variety. I'm doing something different every single day,” Davis said. “Whether it's talking to customers, power washing, or building relationships within the community, it's pretty exciting.” For Morales, stepping out of an office and into a new adventure has been a fun learning experience. “I love being hands-on and getting my hands dirty, literally,” shared Morales. “It

is also exciting to step into the entrepreneurial role and have the opportunity to have a vision and build a business.”

EQUIPPING INVESTORS USING MARKET GUIDANCE, EDUCATION, AND RESEARCH
In 2024, EarningsBeats celebrates twenty years of providing stock market research, education, and guidance to people who want to capitalize on the firm’s motto of ‘better timing, better trades’. Founded by Tom Bowley and John Hopkins, EarningsBeats grew out of a mutual interest in studying stock market trends and tracking earnings reports.
“When John and I had other businesses that shared the same office space, we both had a passion for the stock market and we would meet for lunch and talk through the ups and downs of the market,” shared Bowley, the firm’s chief market strategist. “I would talk him through and give pointers about things I was seeing based on all I had learned over the years passionately trying to study the market, what made it tick, and so forth.”
The more time the men spent studying and discussing discoveries about the market, the more enthusiastic they became about sharing the information with others. As their conversations and friendship progressed, they decided to establish a firm to educate investors using a unique approach.
“There are many reasons stocks go up and down, but one of the primary reasons is earnings,” explained Hopkins, the firm’s president. “Every public company that trades has to report their earnings. Because of Tom's background as a CPA, he understands the importance of earnings. So we focus on those companies that report and beat earnings because those are the companies you want to be involved with and that have the potential of going higher.”
“We look at making stock market decisions based on price action, relative strength, and intermarket relationships...”
“We are educating folks using the knowledge that I've gained over the years and giving them something that is different from mainstream media,” added Bowley. “We look at making stock market decisions based on price action, relative strength, and intermarket relationships; not based on price earnings ratios, sales growth, debt burden or anything like that. It is based on what we are learning and the story that is being told by the price action and the charts.”
What began as a one-page newsletter and radio spots has grown into a multi-layered and scalable approach to sharing information with a philosophy that includes three pillars: Market Guidance, Market Education, and Market Research. One key component of EarningsBeats is the strong relationship with the financial platform company Stockcharts.com . The company connection is layered as Bowley frequently writes articles for the platform and EarningsBeats utilizes the StockCharts charting platform as a way of organizing their market research, education, and guidance.
“When earnings season comes around every quarter, Tom and our team are very busy producing ChartLists that show which companies are performing the best, which ones you might want to focus on, which ones you might want to avoid, etc.,” explained Hopkins.
- Tom Bowley
Bowley and Hopkins, who have worked together and known one other for years, say they work together well because they build on one another’s strengths.
“Tom’s skills as an analyst are unmatched,” shared Hopkins. “The reason he has such a great following is because he has been so accurate in his market calls for a long time.”
“John has always been the visionary side of our business, focusing on marketing and customer service,” responded Bowley. “Our membership spans the globe and it’s not uncommon for a question to come in late at night and I’ll see where John responded right away. You just don’t find that level of excellent customer service anywhere else.”
EarningsBeats offers free and paid member services. Free services include publicly accessible articles on StockCharts.com , the EarningsBeats Digest, a newsletter published three times a week, and Trading Places Live, a free show that airs on the EarningsBeats YouTube channel. Paid member services include, but are not limited to, special events; stock portfolios; access to the firm’s ChartLists on StockCharts, including the flagship Strong Earnings ChartList; and more.

When Kyle Panther took ownership of Martinizing Dry Cleaning on East Boulevard in 2016, he brought a wealth of experience and insight from his background in manufacturing, including a familiarity of working with different machinery and equipment. With a determination to modernize the dry cleaning experience, he began upgrading the facility, integrating new technology, and elevating the overall customer experience.
One of biggest upgrades Panther implemented was fully integrating the cleaner’s services with the Martinizing Delivers app, which allows customers to schedule pick-up and deliveries, track services, and receive notifications. “It is similar to so many other apps most people are familiar with using these days,” explained Panther. “You upload your information, and it helps you locate the closest drop-off, pick-up, and delivery locations near you. The app also allows us to message and send notifications to customers.”
The dry cleaning methods used by Martinizing provide many benefits when caring for clothing and specialty items. “Some items you simply can't clean yourself because they do not handle water well and you don't have the capability to clean it otherwise,” said Panther. “Other times, you try to get a wine stain out of something and it simply doesn't work. Dry cleaning, which doesn’t use water, has other options available including access to a variety of spotting agents for stains.”
Clothing items, specifically, last longer and retain vibrant colors and shape better through the dry cleaning process. “It is a much gentler process on clothes because it does not include the harsh drying side of cleaning clothing,” he said. “For the most part, the drying is where a lot of the damage is done. For example, if you ever dry your clothes and you check the lint trap, all of that material is part of your clothing that has come off, leaving your clothes with less material.”
What types of items are a good fit for dry cleaning? Panther and his staff see a little bit of everything. “I really like the variation of items that come in on a daily basis,” he shared. “Of course, we see our fair share of shirts and pants, but we have also cleaned an 80-yearold christening gown that has been worn by four different generations being christened. Sometimes we get stuff that people thought that they had destroyed, but we get the right spotter on it, are able to get the stain out, and are able to make their day. We also get older clothing pieces that simply need extra care.”
In addition to common clothing items, Martinizing specializes in cleaning luggage, purses, shoes, rugs of all sizes, curtains, tablecloths, comforters, banners for businesses and sports teams, and more. “We're willing to clean just about anything and you can get in the door,” said Panther. “We do almost everything in-house, right on site. Occasionally, we have larger rugs that we will take over to the warehouse and take care of them there, but it is still us doing the cleaning, just at a different location.” Shoe repair and specialty services such as cleaning and preserving wedding gowns and other special occasion items are also available.
Martinizing also offers regular wash and fold laundry service. This option is perfect for people who travel frequently or have schedules that don’t allow time for doing laundry, in addition to those who may need a temporary option while their washer and/or dryer are not working. The regular laundry services also provide the luxury and convenience of simply not having to worry about getting the laundry done at home and relief from what seems like a never-ending pile of clothing that needs to be ironed or pressed.
“It's just so convenient to drop the items off and pick them up with they are ready,” he explained. “There are plenty of things we can do at home, but we sometimes choose not to. For example, people go to

restaurants because they don't feel like cooking, not necessarily because they can’t make food at home. Just because you can do something at home doesn't mean you always want to.”
Although many customers visit the location in person, Panther has elevated customer service to the next level by offering convenient pick-up and delivery options easily scheduled using the Martinizing app. Customers can choose from several options, including monthly or weekly delivery services. “For our weekly services, we have a regular pickup and delivery rotation where we come by twice a week,” he said. “We will pick items up and bring them back on the next rotation when we come by your area. So depending on where you live, the schedule can be on the Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday route.”
Another option for customers is to use one of the secure lockers located in apartment and office buildings throughout the area. Lockers provide a convenient option for customers who work long hours or who simply don’t want to worry about running extra errands. Through the app, customers can locate a locker close to work or home, set a pick-up time, track the progress of their order, and be notified of the return delivery. To set up a locker, customers simply enter their work or home address in the app and it will guide them to the closest available locker.
“Once you get to the location, you scan the locker code and we get a ping that there is an order for pickup in that specific locker,” he explained. “The
next time that we are scheduled to go to that location, which is usually once or twice a week, we'll go pick it up, service the order, and bring it back to the locker. When we deliver the completed order, you’ll get a notification that says your items are in a particular locker. You’ll be given a unique pin for that locker and you just come and get the items out whenever you are ready and in that area.”
With all the convenience upgrades, Panther has ensured that the level of personalized service provided by a friendly staff has remained the same. “When you give us a call, you’ll get someone actively working at the front desk who is available to answer questions,” he said. “One thing customers really like about us is if you have a question and call early enough in the day, maybe you have a pair of pants with a wine stain and you need them cleaned before tomorrow, there is a good chance you’re going to hear the person turn around and ask a staff member who is actively doing the work if we can make that happen for you. And if you show up three minutes later, you’ll likely come face to face to the person you were just talking to and handing your clothes to them. This keeps the communication loop small and customer service a priority.”
Martinizing Dry Cleaning is located at 1408 East Boulevard, Suite AA, and is open Monday-Friday 7:00am to 7:00pm and Saturdays 10:00am to 5:00pm. For more information, visit martinizing.com/charlotte-east-blvd, call 704372-0009, and download the Martinizing Delivers app.

Local businessmen share why they love what they do

I am the third generation of my family in this business, which I call art underfoot, and I love it. Each Oriental or Persian rug is a oneof-a-kind, unique, hand-knotted work of art. I love all the colors and the memories the rugs bring of my childhood from when my father used to sell them.
I love the fact that we can provide a fitness experience unlike any other that allows our members to thrive in a welcoming and supportive environment. I really enjoy meeting our new members and learning about why they chose HOTWORX and seeing them improve along their journey.
Whether it's a first-time homebuyer or somebody who is moving into town and needs help finding the best areas that will be a good fit for their family or their lifestyle, I really enjoy connecting with and helping people as they make one of the most important financial decisions of their life.

It’s the gratifying feeling of being able to directly contribute to someone’s well-being that drives my passion for chiropractic care. Being able to alleviate someone’s discomfort and help them get through their day to day is truly rewarding. In our practice, we are constantly trying to improve and help turn patients into their best selves with optimal health.
Everything we do in our clinic is to help community members live a life of mobility and health. As chiropractors, we are focused on making a positive change in the lives of our patients and their families. It is most satisfying having patients come back and share that they did something they haven't been able to do in years.

Whether you are a new golfer or have been playing for decades, we all want the same thing—to be a single-digit handicap (or better). In some professions, golfing with clients is a must, and slicing off the tee box can kill the deal.
If you are buying clubs off the rack, you aren’t giving yourself the best chance for success. Golf technology is evolving every year, and although you don’t need to buy a new driver each year, if you’ve been playing with the same clubs for 5+ years, it’s time to take advantage of the new equipment. Newer clubs have lower and deeper center of gravity (CG), creating an easier launch off the face. Even off-center strikes can produce a straight shot with the right set of clubs. Any major golf store will fit you for free—just make sure you get the correct length club and size grip. The clubs don’t swing themselves, so don’t neglect instruction and practice, but getting the right equipment is a vital piece of the puzzle.
On drivers and hybrids, some of the newest equipment have premium shaft options off the rack. Generally, a $300 driver has a low-grade $15 shaft that you should change. The shaft is the engine of the club, so getting custom shafts will add distance and forgiveness—guaranteed.
As for the putter, you use it more than any other club in your bag on every round of golf. It should be the most tailored club in your bag.
Get good golf instruction, REGULARLY.
02.
We’ve all heard someone say, “I should get a lesson sometime.” To be effective, you need regular lessons from a PGA certified pro, not just one lesson. Getting quality instruction from the same instructor can turn slices into draws and give you the confidence to play with anyone on any course. Years ago, golf instructors started instruction with chipping and putting and then graduated to the driver. Now, instructors have been pressured to start with the driver because we all want to outdrive our friends. Resist that temptation! Get instruction on your short game and irons first. My friend regularly outdrives me by 50 yards, but my ball is in the hole first most of the time because of my training and practice on the short game.
Read quality golf books for a higher golf IQ.
03.
There are thousands of golf books, but don’t worry, you only need to read a handful of them to up your golf IQ. Here are some top reads: Short game: Dave Pelz’s Short Game Bible by Dave Pelz Mental game: Golf is Not a Game of Perfect by Bob Rotella Mechanics: Practical Golf by John Jacobs Ball flight laws: The Practice Manual by Adam Young (only read the first 50 pages)
Practice your short game every day.
04.
You don’t even have to spend time away from your family while practicing if you don’t have a golf simulator. You can practice putting and chipping on the carpet while watching TV with your family.
Chipping and the bump and run: The only mechanical advice I will give is the most important lesson you can learn in the short game. When you miss your approach shot you must be able to chip the ball within 8 feet of the hole for a one putt. Try this shot from Dave Peltz’s short game book. It gets me up and down from 25 yards out to just off the green.
Instructors have been pressured to start with the driver because we all want to outdrive our friends. Resist that temptation! Get instruction on your short game and irons first.

Completely blown away by this team.
