Style It Up: Be Uniquely You This Fall!
Happy September Fabulous Readers!
As summer fades, it’s time to embrace the glorious chaos of fall. There’s something about autumn fashion that just hits differently. Maybe it’s the nostalgia of back-to-school shopping—I still get giddy about new clothes, even if my school days are long gone. This year, my daughters are leading the charge for back-to-school shopping, and let me tell you, they want all the things, which has me on a budget-reining mission! The seasons seem to switch so quickly too; one week it’s all about bathing suits and flip-flops, and the next, we’re picking out sweaters and boots. September is our style issue, and let’s be honest—style isn’t just about what we wear. It’s woven into how we decorate our homes, the tunes we blast, the books we devour, and even how we converse. So, as you flip through this month’s issue, I hope you find a sprinkle of inspiration to jazz up your life.
As we prepared for this issue I had the chance to attend a photo shoot with Danielle Cabral from “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” Let me tell you, she’s a total pro. We met at a park where her husband and two kids came along to play and get some fresh air. Danielle juggled modeling and parenting like a champ, effortlessly striking poses while keeping an eye on her little ones. Between shots, she cracked jokes and even took a moment to ask about my family. I could practically hear the “uh-oh” alarm buzzing in her eyes when I mentioned I have four daughters. Turn to page 26 to discover more about Danielle’s life on a hit reality TV show and what it’s like running her stylish children’s brand, Boujie Kidz.
What I’ve learned is that the best style is simply being your authentic self. It’s something no one can replicate. While “stylish” may not be the first word that comes to mind when you think of me, I feel comfortable in my own skin—so can I really ask for more?

Real talk!
With second quarter, 2024 results available in the chart below, we can see a rise in the number of available homes this quarter vs. the prior three. Sales are also up, and in the third quarter, we are following the trend to see if sales keep pace or inventory continues to rise. With new real estate regulations, rates lingering higher than predicted earlier, and more homes coming on the market as the year progresses, we could return to a more balanced market
This quarter has seen a shift in buyer habits toward homes that are right-priced vs. aspirational, and those that require less work. If you’d like to learn more about how to prepare for listing your home, whether in the near future or down the road, don’t hesitate to call me I’m also your neighbor!

Prestige Auto Repair Marks 25 Years in Bernardsville
PHOTOGRAPHY BY LIZ POLO - MY HAVANA PHOTOGRAPHY
Owner - Jim Jackson
As Prestige Auto Repair LLC celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, owner Jim Jackson reflects on the journey that led him to establish a thriving business rooted in family values and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.
Founded as a full-service repair facility specializing in European vehicles, Prestige Auto Repair has become a cornerstone of the Bernardsville community under Jackson's leadership. "Our specialty is customer service," Jackson emphasizes. "We prioritize building lasting relationships with our customers while ensuring their vehicles receive top-notch care."
Jackson's dedication to excellence is evident in both the quality of service provided and the longevity of his team. With three technicians and an office assistant, Prestige Auto Repair has staff members whose tenure ranges from the early years of the business to recent hires. "I have technicians who've been with me for 23 and 19 years, respectively," Jackson notes. "We're like a family here, and that sense of camaraderie extends to our customers."
Reflecting on the past, Jackson recalls a serendipitous encounter that changed the course of his career. "I went in for a job interview as a mechanic, knowing I wanted to own a business someday," he recalls. "But fate had other plans. Within minutes, the owner offered to sell me the business, and in just 90 days, I became the owner of Prestige Auto Repair."
Navigating the challenges of business ownership, particularly during the pandemic, has only strengthened Prestige Auto Repair's resolve to serve its community. "We remained open
during the pandemic, operating as a critical business," Jackson explains. "We prioritized safety measures and adapted our services to ensure minimal contact with customers while delivering essential automotive care."
Jackson's commitment to integrity and customer-centric values has earned Prestige Auto Repair a loyal clientele. "We're problem solvers and critical thinkers," Jackson says proudly. "Whether it's diagnosing complex issues or providing honest advice, our goal is always to exceed customer expectations."
Owner Jim Jackson and his staff!
Looking ahead, Jackson remains steadfast in his dedication to excellence. "As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we're grateful for the trust and support of our community," he remarks. "We're not just a repair shop; we're a family. And together, we look forward to many more years of serving Bernardsville and beyond." When it comes to children's fashion, trends change as quickly as a toddler's attention span. Danielle Cabral, a member of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey,' shines with her vibrant and personalized brand, Boujie Kidz. Cabral’s road to becoming an entrepreneur reflects passion, perseverance, and a touch of Jersey pride.

Danielle Cabral’s Boujie Kidz Journey, with Jersey Pride
Life was not always so glamorous for Cabral. "I was working in sales and event planning in Manhattan, but I wasn't happy." She shares candidly, “I needed a change. Dressing my kids in unique, over-the-top outfits was always my thing." Inspired by her love for fashion and driven by a desire to create something of her own, Cabral embarked on a journey that would lead to the birth of Boujie Kidz.
The idea sparked during a late-night Pinterest session. "I created a Pinterest board titled 'New Life' and began envisioning colors and concepts for my business," Cabral explains. "Before I knew it, I was learning to code a website, manage marketing, and even handle shipping logistics."
The name 'Boujie Kidz' itself reflects Cabral's style and personality. "Everybody used to call me ‘bougie’ because I love adding a touch of glitter or sparkle," Cabral laughs. "When naming my brand, 'bougie' felt exactly right. The 'J' in 'boujie' adds a classy twist, and 'Kidz' with a 'Z' gives it that playful edge."
Setting Boujie Kidz apart from other children's clothing brands was crucial for Cabral. "I wanted to offer fun, stylish clothing that's also affordable," she explains. "While high-end stores weren't in my budget as a mom, I made sure Boujie Kidz would cater to budget-conscious parents without compromising on style or quality."
Navigating the retail space posed its challenges, especially with pricing. "I learned the hard way when my first line was too costly to produce locally," Cabral reflects. "But I refused to compromise on affordability. It's about staying relevant and competitive with big retailers like Walmart and Amazon."
As Boujie Kidz gained momentum, Cabral’s role evolved beyond business owner to community figure. "I'm not just the face of Boujie Kidz; I'm also the voice," she emphasizes. "I listen to what parents and kids want. Custom orders, adding rhinestones to socks, or personalizing birthday outfits—these are the touches that make Boujie Kidz special."
Influenced by her own children's preferences, Cabral ensures Boujie Kidz stays ahead of trends. "My daughter is my toughest critic," she laughs. "She keeps me grounded and ensures our designs are trendy and practical."

Balancing a small business and family life is not easy, especially with the added spotlight from television appearances. "My husband and I make a great team," Cabral says gratefully. "We juggle business responsibilities with our kids' activities, and it's a whirlwind, but we manage."
Reflecting on her newfound fame, Cabral remains grounded. "Being on a popular TV show has its perks, but it's not everything," she muses. “It could all end tomorrow. So, I need to build something more than just being on a show about Housewives. I need to have some substance in my career that will take me to the finish line.”
Cabral also emphasizes, "I want Boujie Kidz to stand for more—quality, affordability, and a touch of Jersey flair."
As Cabral looks to the future, she hopes to expand Boujie Kidz while staying true to its roots. "I want to keep growing, maybe bring in more designers," she envisions. "But it's about staying connected to what parents and kids love."
With her blend of creativity, resilience, and Jersey attitude, Cabral's journey with Boujie Kidz is a testament to chasing dreams and embracing every challenge along the way. So, whether you are dressing your kids to the nines or navigating the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, remember to add a touch of ‘boujie’ flair—it is what Cabral and Boujie Kidz are all about.

FALL FASHION TIPS FROM TARA VITOLLO OF OLCOTT SQUARED
ARTICLE BY CARLY MAC MANUS PHOTOGRAPHY BY LIZ POLO - MY HAVANA PHOTOGRAPHY
Owner - Tara Vitollo
It’s pumpkin spice season, which means it’s time to add some flair to your wardrobe. Who better to guide us through the latest trends than Tara Vitollo, a Bernardsville resident, mother, and entrepreneur?
THE EVOLUTION
After stepping away from a successful career in the fashion industry to focus on motherhood in 2014, Vitollo found her way back to fashion by launching Olcott Squared as an online boutique.
Evolution is something that Tara claims is a constant in her life. From mom life, her relationship with her husband Michael, and her ever evolving business, she proves evolution is the most important ingredient for success. From online, to pop up, to brick and mortar, Olcott Squared is always evolving. It’s newest twist, a rekindled partnership with friend and fellow entrepreneur Christina Gianni of BBoutique. The two originally collaborated post Covid but eventually decided to pursue solo ventures.
Tara's
However, history repeats it self—in a great way—and in May the two decided to team up once again! They are excited for the launch of their new, joint boutique, 202 Co-op. A one stop shop featuring both Olcott Squared and BBoutique in one location. With Christina’s impeccable taste in accessories and Tara knowledge of fit and textures, their new venture offers a full service fashion forward boutique for everyone.
THE WEARABLE FALL WARDROBE
"This upcoming season is very wearable," Vitollo begins. "It speaks to an old money vibe—classic, crisp, clean, and versatile. Everything that's coming out for fall is in neutral colors and monochromatic looks. Fur coats are making a comeback, whether real or faux, and we're seeing a lot of button-down oxfords and wide-leg trousers."
She emphasizes the importance of layering and versatile pieces: "You can make anything look dressy or casual. Pair trousers with cool flats or pointy stilettos, add a blazer, and you're set. It’s all about easy, wearable pieces."
KEY PIECES FOR FALL
When asked about must-have items, Vitollo lists a few staples: "Every woman needs some type of Oxford button-down, a pair of great jeans—straight-leg is still in style—and a basic sweater. Trench coats are making a return, and scarves are a chic accessory. Footwear trends include stilettos, kitten heels, and classic white sneakers."
Vitollo also highlights the importance of comfort for busy moms: "As a mom of three with a business, my everyday look might differ, but key pieces like denim, a nice top, and a cashmere tunic for layering make it easy to look put together."
COLOR AND PRINT TRENDS
Fall fashion isn't just about neutrals. Vitollo notes that bold colors and prints are also trending: "Green is in for fall, and you'll see beautiful hues like lime green and army green. Bold patterns, animal prints and plaid are making a comeback, and statement pieces in red, mustard, and blues add a pop of color to your wardrobe."
For those looking to update their fall style, Vitollo advises focusing on classic pieces: "Get your staple pieces that are always going to look good. Pearls are coming back, and gold jewelry is timeless. Keep your wardrobe clean and cut—grab your denim, top, and a long cashmere tunic, or puffer coat and you’re ready to go."
Vitollo's passion and dedication to making style accessible shine through in her advice. Her boutique, Olcott Squared, is her commitment to bringing chic, wearable fashion to the community.

REVIVING HISTORY
ARTICLE BY CARLY MAC MANUS | PHOTOGRAPHY BY RICH SILIVANCH
Easton, Pennsylvania Historical Renovation
VanGo General Contractors
Van-Go General Contracting, Inc., founded by Peter Georgoutsos in 1989, specializes in the historic restoration of homes and vintage buildings. With decades of experience in the building trade, his passion for restoration transforms countless properties in the Tri-State area.
A notable and recent project is the extensive restoration of a historic 1802 farmhouse in Easton, Pennsylvania, owned by Paul Jarrell. "This is a massive undertaking that takes about 16 months from start to finish," Georgoutsos says. "We touch every square inch of the house, from the foundation up to the roofline." The restoration includes addressing significant drainage issues and ensuring the home's structural integrity.
The architectural vision for the Jarrell project is guided by Michael J. Margulies of Eclectic Architecture, who specializes in historic preservation and custom design. His expertise is crucial in blending modern amenities with the farmhouse’s historic character. The project also benefits greatly from the skills of Van-Go's long-time associates David Marino, Architect/Builder, Ajredin Braka, and Juan Badia, whose professional input and creativity are invaluable throughout the restoration process.
Owner - Pete Georgoutsos
Georgoutsos emphasizes the importance of client involvement in such projects. “Paul is intricately involved in the design process, which is rare in construction. His ideas greatly influence the outcome,” he notes. Involving the homeowner is crucial for historic restorations. "When clients are engaged, we achieve the results they envision," Georgoutsos says.
The farmhouse presents unique challenges. Van-Go's leadership involves multiple trades, including excavation, drainage, stonework, pointing, framing, roofing, mechanical work, hardwood floors, and custom carpentry. Craftsmanship extends to restoring original windows, doors, and custom trim work. "We replace old components with locally sourced vintage beams, ensuring everything looks authentic," Georgoutsos adds.
Restoring the farmhouse not only revives history but also reflects Van-Go General Contracting’s meticulous attention to detail. “Our goal is to marry modern needs with historical integrity, creating spaces that honor the past while serving today’s homeowners,” he states.
Van-Go’s work extends beyond general construction, with a proven track record in historic renovations, receiving multiple citations and awards. Notable projects include the Rakhaus in Pound Ridge, NY, known for its Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architectural details, the Cady Stanton Home in Tenafly, NJ, a National Historic Landmark, and the Penn Building in Easton, Pennsylvania.
Georgoutsos credits the company’s successful construction management skills to his ageless crew and long-term subcontractor relationships. With a strong commitment to preserving the past, Van-Go continues setting high standards in the industry.

Transitions - Has the housing market begun its transition?
Since 2020, we haven’t really experienced a seasonal market. Rather, it’s been a short supply of available homes that created high demand. Number of homes for sale barely broke into the teens all year. In June, we rose to over 30 available, and now, near the end of July, we’ve surpassed 40 In a slight reversal of trend as evidenced in the char t below, year over year, single family home listings are up 11% and sales are actually down 13% Are we ever so slightly transitioning? There are some key indicators that contribute to some homes staying on the market while others literally sell in a weekend There are also external factors in play that are influencing the market including confusion over new regulations, disappointment in rates not dr opping as anticipated, and fatigue from the frenzy Make no mistake - at this juncture in July, our market remains healthy However, like the first reddened leaves of Autumn, there may be signs of change to come I’d be happy to discuss this in greater detail Don’t hesitate to call, or subscribe to my newsletter
