As Cobb County’s only Middle Years IB Program, they sponsor a yearly trip to Colombia to fulfill one of the IB requirements of community service. This past spring they adopted a school in Bogota and supplied them with fully loaded backpacks, refurbished their computer lab, and repainted the school. They will be returning this summer to Bogota as well as to France and Spain for the upcoming Spring Break. They collected donations for the victims of Hurricane Michael with basic items such as non-perishable foods, bottled water, and cleaning supplies. The PTSA did a fabulous job of organizing the event and having radio station STAR 94 come out to promote. Their Lady Spartans AND Elite Gentlemen’s Club allow students the chance to learn business etiquette, interviewing skills, the application process, and character building. They both have guest speakers, business related field trips and a yearly culminating night out to a restaurant with a five course meal that requires the students to dress the part of a business owner.
