Real estate is more than a transaction; it’s a way to help families put down roots, build legacy and live out their values. Every family I serve strengthens the fabric of North Fulton through faith, connection and community.

In 2026, I’m inviting you to join me in a year-long initiative rooted in service supporting the local nonprofits, schools and ministries that provide stability, hope and care for the families who call our community home.

There's no Place like Home

As you explore this issue, we hope you’re inspired to design with purpose, live with intention, and bring beauty, warmth, and meaning into every corner of home.  For many of us in Roswell, home is not simply the place we unlock at night. It is the familiar drive past downtown. The route we walk without thinking. The sound of music floating through warm evenings. It is knowing where to sit, who you might run into, and that you belong before you even realize it.

We have curated some of the best in their business to share with you in design, home realty, furnishings and beyond. On page 38 we share a glimpse into The Consignor's Designer, Marc Jones life and love of Roswell. Helen Loiacono and Artisan Design Studio share tips on the 2026 trends and how they can help curate special places in your home to create your very own style.

Read on page 24 about how Kevin Egan's life in Roswell is going to be on the national forefront this summer as the Host liaison for the World Cup and hear about his life as TV host for MLS.

At the end of the day, home is family, community, and connection. WE encourage you to continue to support our local businesses that help bring this magazine to life each month. We would also love to hear from you about the best-in-class services that make life here better. These are the stories we want to tell. They are, in every way, the stories of home.

CHAMPAGNE SABRAGE: ART AND RITUAL

HOW A HISTORIC CHAMPAGNE TRADITION TRANSFORMS ORDINARY TOASTS INTO SOMETHING UNFORGETTABLE

Champagne sabering, also known as sabrage, is exactly what it sounds like: opening a bottle of Champagne with a saber in one clean, dramatic motion. Rooted in French history, the ritual was created to mark moments of victory and celebration with confidence and flair. While it looks bold and theatrical, when done correctly it is precise, controlled, and deeply traditional. This experience is brought to life by Sabrage Society Atlanta, a luxury brand focused on the art, ritual, and spectacle of Champagne sabering. Its mission is simple. Take a centuries old tradition and make it feel accessible, meaningful, and unforgettable for modern celebrations.

“I’ve always loved wine—the history, the craftsmanship, the artistry, and the simple fact that it’s alive,” says founder Rob Scruggs. “It’s also one of the only asset classes that can be consumed, which makes it completely unique. Some people may not realize that collectible wine including Champagne is considered an alternative asset class alongside real estate, fine art, vintage cars, and other collectibles.”

That blend of culture, value, and experience is what first drew him in. Wine is something people study seriously, but it is also meant to be enjoyed. “People who devote themselves to wine, whether by making it a profession or becoming certified sommeliers take it seriously, and I respect that. But at the same time, wine is fun. It brings people together, sparks conversations, and becomes part of the memories we make.”

After years of teaching Champagne and sabering classes and hosting events, he saw an opportunity to share that passion more broadly. “By highlighting the history, ceremony, and joy of sabering Champagne, I hoped to inspire more people to learn about Champagne itself and to experience how this tradition can bring a sense of celebration into everyday life,” he says.

That shared sense of celebration is what people connect with most. “Sabrage gives people a moment of pure ceremony, history, and shared excitement,” he explains. “Champagne already symbolizes celebration, but sabering a bottle elevates that feeling, it transforms an ordinary toast into something unforgettable.”

What surprises many first time participants is how approachable the experience really is. “The real challenge isn’t strength, it’s the moment. When you’re standing there with a saber in hand, everyone’s eyes turn to you.”

That pause, the anticipation before the strike is part of the magic. “And then it happens. The clean strike, the cork flying, and the Champagne flowing. The crowd reacts, the tension breaks, and jubilation takes over. It becomes a shared memory everyone leaves talking about.”

In a world where so many experiences are fleeting or digital, sabrage stands out as something tangible and real. “Sabrage is something tactile, celebratory, rooted in tradition, and accessible to anyone who wants to try it,” he says.

The beauty of sabrage is that it doesn’t require a grand venue—only a reason to celebrate. The experience can be brought directly to your home or event, whether it’s an intimate gathering, a milestone celebration, or a larger occasion meant to be remembered.

If you’re interested in bringing the art and ritual of Champagne sabrage to your next celebration, Rob Scruggs and the Sabrage Society Atlanta team offer private classes, luxury brand events, and curated Champagne experiences.

KEV IN EGAN’S GLOBAL SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT CAREER MEE TS FAMILY LIFE IN ROSWELL.

CALLING THE GAME.

BUILDING A LIFE.

Kevin Egan’s work has taken him across continents, into packed stadiums, and onto some of the biggest stages in sports and entertainment. From Dublin, Ireland to Atlanta, his journey has been anything but ordinary. Today, the global broadcaster, his wife Megan, and their children, seven year old James and four year old Maisie call Roswell home, putting down roots in a community that feels grounded and full of possibility.

Bringing the game to life on the field

Kevin currently serves as Apple TV’s lead host for Major League Soccer, a role shaped by more than two decades of on-air experience. His career includes a three-year run with WWE as the first non–North American voice to front Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. This summer, he’s Atlanta’s World Cup Host City Ambassador.

For Kevin, the best part of the job is clear.

“I think it’s the fact that I’m wearing a genuine smile on my face whenever I’m at work. My role as Apple TV’s host for MLS is my absolute dream job, and it only helps that I’m on air with some of my dearest friends. We spend most of the day laughing!”

That passion comes through in the way he talks about the sport.

“I’m so invested in the growth of our global game here in the US, and the trajectory Major League Soccer is on is undeniable. In December our 2025 season wrapped up with Lionel Messi winning MLS Cup, David Beckham with us on our broadcast desk, and the world watching it all play out. Just shy of five million people tuned in, and it was such an honor to host such a memorable broadcast.”

Roswell wasn’t always on the radar, but the timing aligned both personally and professionally.

“We hit the jackpot finding Roswell! My wife Meg and I were living in Miami for almost four years, when we decided to make the move, for personal and professional reasons. We had just become parents, and living on the 21st floor of a high-rise wasn’t exactly ideal with a baby!”

Atlanta also made sense for work. Kevin was already calling Atlanta United matches and had plans to begin covering soccer on CNN International.

What’s kept the family here goes beyond geography.

“Honestly I love it all, but if I was to hone in on one thing, I’d say community. There’s such a lovely collaborative zest and spirit for community where we live. Our kids are so lucky with the teachers they have, and our friends and neighbors are just the best.”

He’s already settled into a few local go-to spots.

Meg & Kevin, co-owners of a new pub, The Irish Exit

“Meg and I love a cheeky little brunch date when the kids are at school, and for that we usually go to Fellows!” Kevin says. Milton’s Cuisine and Cocktails is a favorite for dinner, while Mac McGee's and the Olde Blind Dog satisfy his love for Guinness beer. Burn Bootcamp has also become a staple, offering workouts, childcare, and a strong sense of community the family values.

This summer, Atlanta steps onto the world stage as the World Cup arrives, and Kevin believes it’s something everyone should welcome.

"It’s by far and away the biggest event on the planet, and we’re about to have over 500,000 fans come to Atlanta to party! The fun, the flair, and the flavor of each and every culture will be a joy to behold. Dive in and enjoy. We’ve got eight games in Atlanta, including a World Cup semifinal!"

Looking ahead, Kevin is focused on balancing both family life and a packed professional season.

“Our kids are at such beautiful ages, where Momma and Dadda are their best friends! This is what I want to savor every single day.”

Another new chapter is unfolding at the perfect moment.

"Meg and I are officially co-owners of a new pub, The Irish Exit, coming to downtown Atlanta in the heart of Centennial Yards, just steps from Mercedes Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena. It will offer a proper pint of Guinness, craft cocktails, and modern Irish hospitality. I’m thrilled to be on this journey with my friend and fellow Roswell local, Pierce White, in collaboration with The Dead Rabbit group out of NYC."

It's a fitting extension of the life Kevin and his family have built in Roswell.

You can follow Kevin on Instagram, Threads, and X at @Kev_Egan, connect with him on LinkedIn, or book him as an emcee.

How a Roswell Realtor Created The Wheel House Method

Over twenty-five years ago, Kim Costa stood in the middle of what should have been her dream home, a beautiful property she'd built from scratch on remote acreage, and realized she'd made a terrible mistake. It wasn't the house that was wrong. The craftsmanship was impeccable; the views were stunning. But the house didn't fit her life.

"I had focused so much on creating something beautiful that I forgot to ask if it would support the life I actually wanted to live," Kim recalls. The property was isolating, far from the people she loved and the career opportunities she needed. Around the same time, after winning an essay contest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, she declined their invitation to film at her home. "My house didn't reflect who I really was," she says simply.

That moment of clarity changed everything. It led Kim from a successful career as a residential construction controller into real estate and eventually to creating The Wheel House Method, a framework that's now helping people across the country align their homes with their authentic lives.

Kim grew up just over the Chattahoochee River off Roberts Drive, and some of her fondest childhood memories are of visiting Roswell with her mom. "There was something magical about this place even then," she says.

After her housing wake-up call, Kim was drawn back to Roswell and the neighboring areas of Crabapple, Milton, and Alpharetta, not just to work, but to build her life and career. Today, she and her husband, Rocky, make their home in the Crabapple area of Roswell, coming full circle to the community that captured her heart as a child.

Over the years, Kim developed The Wheel House Method by integrating insights from environmental psychology, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, and Carl Jung's theories about authentic living. The method examines eight crucial life areas, or "spokes", that a home should support: Health, Career, Fun and Leisure, Family and Friends, Spirituality, Romance, Environmental, and Finance. When all eight spokes are balanced, you're living in your "wheel house", that sweet spot where your home amplifies your life rather than complicating it.

After more than three decades serving this area, Kim has become one of the region's most trusted voices in real estate. As a Top 5% Realtor, she brings 30-plus years of combined experience in real estate, construction, design, and human development, plus intimate local knowledge that only comes from a lifetime of connection to a place.

"This area doesn't just look beautiful, it works beautifully for the people who live here," Kim says. "And I know it intimately because it's been part of my life story since I was a little girl crossing the Chattahoochee with my mom."

What started as a real estate practice evolved into something much bigger. Kim realized the conversation about intentional living needed to reach beyond one-on-one client meetings. That realization led her to American Dream TV, where she hosts segments helping viewers think differently about their home decisions, and sparked the creation of her "Live in Your Wheel House" podcast and YouTube channel.

And now, it's led to her book.

This month, Kim will launch "Live in Your Wheel House" at Poe & Company Bookstore, right here in the community where her journey began.

"It feels perfectly full-circle," she says. "To share this book in the place that shaped my understanding of what home really means, that's everything."

The book distills three decades of experience into a practical guide for anyone facing a housing decision. Inside, readers will discover the complete Wheel House Assessment, real client stories, and practical strategies for making decisions that honor both heart and head. From the Wheel House Assessment, the reader can decide whether to “Stay, Go, or Reno(vate)”.

Kim invites the community to join her on the evening of March 24th. "Bring your questions, your housing dilemmas, and your dreams," she says.

"Let's talk about what it really means to live in your wheel house, and why there's no better place to do it than right here."

Kim's journey has taught her one essential truth: a home isn't just four walls and a roof. It's the foundation for everything else in life.

"When you get it right, when you choose a home that truly supports who you are and who you're becoming, everything else gets easier," she says.

From the little girl who crossed the Chattahoochee to visit Roswell with her mom, to the woman who learned the hard way what happens when a beautiful house doesn't match a beautiful life, to the trusted local expert helping others find their perfect alignment, Kim's entire journey has led to this book and this moment.

“THERE WAS SOMETHING
MAGICAL ABOUT THIS PLACE EVEN THEN,” KIM SAYS.

Kim Costa is a local expert and a Top 5% Realtor® with Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's International Realty. As creator of The Wheel House Method, American Dream TV host, and host of “Live in Your Wheel House” podcast, Kim will launch her book "Live in Your Wheel House"  March 24th, with an evening celebration at Poe & Company Bookstore in Crabapple Market. FIRST LOOK, Full Heart

SLATER NALLEY’S FEBRUARY FIRST LOOK BRINGS COMMUNITY TOGETHER AT AZOTEA CANTINA

More than a cover reveal, the February First Look event felt like a true community moment. Held at Azotea Cantina inside Southern Post, the evening welcomed more than 100 guests who gathered to celebrate Slater Nalley as the February cover star, while also discovering one of Roswell’s newest dining destinations. Family, friends, city leaders, creatives, and longtime supporters filled the space, creating an atmosphere that felt equal parts exciting and genuinely warm.

Members of the Nalley family were in attendance, representing every step of Slater’s journey, from early songwriting days to the American Idol stage and now onto the cover of Roswell City Lifestyle. Seeing them surrounded by people who have watched Slater grow made the moment even more meaningful.

Guests got their first look at the February cover while mingling, snapping photos, and catching up with friends, both old and new. Conversations flowed easily, introductions happened naturally, and the room had an easy, welcoming energy.

The setting definitely added to the experience. Azotea Cantina brought a fresh take on modern Mexican cuisine, along with creative cocktails and a lively, upbeat vibe. From the first sip to the last bite, the food and drinks stood out, and the vibrant design and open layout made the space feel open and inviting.

For many, the night doubled as an introduction to Azotea Cantina itself, giving people a taste of what’s quickly becoming a new favorite inside Southern Post. With great food, thoughtful cocktails, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere, it’s easy to picture future date nights, group dinners, and celebrations happening here. Moments like these remind us that community is not just something we talk about. It is something we show up for.

Creativity and Performance A Life Designed Through

Interior design wasn’t something Marc Jones set out to pursue. It found him early and followed him everywhere, shaping a second chapter that continues to grow in Roswell.

“My journey into interior design just evolved. Even as a young boy in Durham, NC I would move my mother’s furniture around and create new floor layouts for the rooms. I’d choose draperies and pillows and help her. I was an artistic kid and was involved in music, theatre and design since age six.”

From National stages to Southern Comforts, Marc Jones continues to design with heart, history, and intention.

Creativity was always central to Marc’s life. His career in entertainment began young and stretched across decades.

“I think the design world found me. It just happened. I had a career since age eight in show business starting on a regular gig for ten years on a morning show in Raleigh, NC. In my senior year I won a national talent contest and started working, performing and traveling and that continued for over a decade. On stages from New York to Las Vegas and everywhere in between I sang and danced and acted, choreographed and directed winning awards for several productions.”

Even while touring, design was never far from his mind.

“When traveling I would check out design houses and art museums and I look at monthly design publications such as Traditional Home and Southern Living.”

After relocating to Atlanta, Marc balanced performance work with formal design education.

“I had natural design talent so after locating in Atlanta I worked in nightclubs performing and choreographing and directing while attending the Atlanta School of Fashion and Design. I originally was majoring in fashion design, but quickly switched to interior design as I felt the pull in that direction. I still love fashion design as well. I decided no more traveling, I wanted a home and Atlanta would be it. I ended up owning a florist interior design business for many years.”

That instinct to listen and evolve continues to guide his work.

“The advice I would give people is that your voice matters. Being silent never solves any problem and we are all given a voice and it matters, use it. Always be respectful and as much as I think we should use our voice we should use our ears as well. Listening is an important factor in growth. When we listen we learn. When we learn we improve our lives and everyone around us.”

Marc’s approach to design trends reflects both memory and longevity.

“The trend I am loving is the use of the color green. As a child my mother loved green and she used it in her decor and fashion. As an adult I did not use a lot of green in my design work, but now I am seeing that it is a color that is a staple. It works literally with any accent color you want to put with it. I also love the trend, even though I think it’s classic, of using an animal print in small doses somewhere in the room, albeit a pillow, footstool or accent chair.”

His inspiration reaches beyond design.

“Who inspires me? There are so many from different fields of expertise. As an entertainer I am inspired by Dolly Parton not only for the longevity of her career but her humanity and her ability to give her opinion but winning everyone’s heart at the same time. For my spiritual journey I have admired Dr. Maya Angelou and Dr. Martin Luther King. Both encompassed the ability to express the feelings, the realness of mankind and to share the value I hold most dear…loving one another while promoting peace.”

Roswell has played a defining role in Marc’s professional journey.

“My connection to Roswell happened years ago when I became the in-house designer for another consignment store called Encore that was on Oak Street. My boss started calling me ‘The Consignor’s Designer’ and it stuck.”

That visibility led to larger opportunities.

“I started doing special events, design events for her. They took off. HGTV came and featured us when they were doing the Green Home that was in Serenbe. Those few minutes helped us reach so many people.”

Marc’s path soon led him to Southern Comforts in Roswell.

“I then started working at Southern Comforts first only as a salesperson. It didn’t take long after I started staging to be made their in-house designer. At one time we had four stores and I went from store to store doing the merchandising and resets.”

As the brand evolved, so did his role.

“The store changed ownership and for over two years we have been making changes and building it bigger and better, eventually opening our newest store at 1570 Holcomb Bridge Road last September. I am the designer and marketing director and spokesperson for both stores with plans to open more in the future.”

One of Marc’s most recognizable contributions blends design with performance.

“For ten years I have been doing big special shows for the company. I combine my design work with my music. I will show you how to design a holiday table and make you sing and dance with me. It’s a big party and it has grown over these ten years. I have done over 60 shows for Southern Comforts.”

Roswell remains home base.

“Roswell is special to me because the second chapter of my career and life has happened here. The people have been so kind and accepting and have supported me for over fifteen years now since I started working in Roswell. I travel and perform and do design events around the country and nowhere beats coming home to Roswell to do my show.”

Looking ahead, Marc’s focus remains on creativity.

“I’m very excited about performing my nightclub act this summer around the country as well, currently in rehearsal. I have some home projects to do this year like a bath remodel. Anytime I have a design project I’m energized.”

Come celebrate Marc Jones 70th birthday with a special performance featuring his favorite songs.

Pantone 2026: Cloud Dancer

A

soft, luminous white redefining modern interiors with calm, clarity, and timeless design appeal.

Pantone’s Color of the Year 2026 is “Cloud Dancer,” a soft, off-white that speaks to serenity, clear thinking, and calm in a busy world. This warm, luminous white acts as a neutral canvas that brightens spaces, balances bold accents, and makes rooms feel larger and more cohesive without dominating the palette. In the living room, painting walls and ceilings in Cloud Dancer opens up the space or built-in shelving to amplify light and create a peaceful backdrop for art and furniture, while textured throws and rugs add depth. In bedrooms, the shade on walls or bedding fosters restful stillness; pair it with natural wood and soft textiles for warmth. In kitchens and dining areas, works beautifully on cabinets, backsplashes, or walls, enhancing brightness without harshness; contrast

it with matte metal hardware or deep accent colors like navy or charcoal to add sophistication. Also you can balance with earth tones like terracotta or olive. Smaller spaces like hallways, home offices, and bathrooms benefit from Cloud Dancer on ceilings or trim to reflect light and ensure visual continuity throughout the home.

AS you prepare to see this color come to life in your own home. Consider what questions to ask your prospective painter? Such as…

UPFRONT UNDERSTANDING

• Did they provide a written proposal instead of an estimated cost?

• Does the proposal clearly specify the scope and non-scope needs of the project?

• Does the proposal specify what type of paint

RESPECT FOR YOUR NEEDS

• Will they prepare and follow a customized plan based on your needs?

• Is the plan detailed and specific?

• Does the plan consider work hours, people that will be around the property during the property and their needs, or any other special considerations you may have?

RESPECT FOR YOUR TIME

• Will they arrive at the agreed upon time each day?

• Will they depart at the agreed upon time each day?

RESPECT FOR YOUR HOME/PROPERTY

• Will they treat your property with the utmost care, as if it were their own?

WHERE YOU GO TO REMEMBER WHAT MATTERS

Why Brevard Is Worth the Drive

It’s easy to gravitate toward the usual North Carolina destinations. Charlotte. Raleigh. Asheville. Familiar places that tend to fill up fast. But just three and a half hours from Atlanta, Brevard and Transylvania County offer something different. Something more grounded, refreshingly easy to enjoy, and lively when you want it to be.

Brevard’s appeal is that it doesn’t force one kind of experience.

“It’s amazing how, in just a few hours, you can step into a whole other world with beautiful mountains, 250 waterfalls, no traffic, and plenty of peace and quiet, with lots to do when you want it. Outdoor recreation, art, beer, music, and shopping. It’s all here, done Brevard style. ExploreBrevard.com is the go-to for lodging deals and everything you need to plan your time in our community,” says Clark Lovelace, Executive Director of Transylvania County Tourism.

What makes Brevard especially appealing is that it doesn’t ask visitors to fit into a single category. You don’t have to be overly outdoorsy to enjoy it, though the natural beauty is undeniable. The town works just as well for people who want to stroll, shop, eat well, and experience a true mountain community. What stands out just as much is how genuinely nice everyone is, from shop owners to locals you meet along the way.

It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a girls' trip, a couple's retreat, a family vacation, or a solo escape.

“While Brevard is a true outdoor paradise, it also has plenty of other things that make it an incredible community to experience. From a quaint, authentic downtown full of friendly folks to independent boutiques, restaurants, art galleries, museums, and an impressive lineup of breweries and music venues. There’s a different kind of fun around every corner,” Lovelace adds.

It’s a town that stays active without feeling rushed.

Music, Brews, and Local Flavor

Music and craft beer are part of everyday life here.

“Music and brews go together like peanut butter and jelly, and we have plenty of both, he says." From the classics at Brevard Music Center to bluegrass or funk at local venues, there’s always something playing. Pair that with our local breweries, and you’ll find live music pouring out somewhere almost every night.”

Where You Stay Matters

Lodging choices reflect that same flexibility, whether visitors want to stay close to downtown or retreat into the mountains.

“When it comes to places to stay, Brevard offers plenty of options from branded hotels near vibrant downtown Brevard and its restaurants and breweries, to comfortable cabins in remote mountain settings, to luxury resorts where pampering awaits,” Lovelace explains.

And then there’s Brevard’s most unexpected signature, white squirrels.

“For nearly 100 years, Brevard has been celebrating its white squirrels," Lovelace shares. "You’ll find the White Squirrel Shoppe downtown, images of our furry friends throughout town, and White Squirrel Weekend each May. And if you’re patient, stop by Silvermont Park or the Brevard College campus for a chance to spot one up close.”

A Weekend, Experienced Firsthand

On the drive into Brevard with my husband, two older teens, and dog, we stopped at Upper Whitewater Falls, a dramatic 411-foot plunge that the U.S. Forest Service calls “the highest waterfall east of the Rockies.” From there, we arrived without much of an agenda, which turned out to be exactly right. We stayed at Pilot Cove, a petfriendly cabin that immediately set the tone for the weekend. CONTINUED

Family Friendly Getaway
Moore Cove Falls

Our first day was spent exploring downtown, stopping into local shops, grabbing coffee, and hanging out at Brevard Brewing Company. It’s walkable, welcoming, and full of locally owned spots that invite you to linger. We stayed downtown for dinner that night, keeping things simple and unhurried.

The next morning started at Pisgah Bakehouse, followed by something completely new for our family, fly fishing. Guided by J.E.B. Hall and Zach Hart from Davidson River Outfitters, we spent the morning learning the basics and enjoying the peacefulness of the river. One by one, we caught rainbow trout, and by the end of the morning, it was clear this would be our favorite part of the trip. We were officially hooked.

Lunch at the nationally known Oskar Blues Brewery checked all the boxes, with outdoor seating, a food truck, and a dog-friendly setup. One of Brevard’s biggest draws is the accessibility of its waterfalls. Many are close together and reached by short walks, making it easy to experience several in one afternoon. We visited Looking Glass Falls, Moore Cove Falls, and Sliding Rock.

That evening, dinner at Wood and Vine felt like the perfect way to end a full day. On our final morning, we stopped at Morning Social, explored the Lumberyard District, and took the scenic route home.

Why We’ll Be Back

What stood out most wasn’t just what we did, but how the weekend felt. We had time to explore, experience something new, and truly connect. Brevard isn’t a place you rush through. It’s a place you stay longer because it reminds you of what matters.

Thoughtful Modern Retreat on the Roswell Women’s Tour of Homes

Rooted in downtown Roswell, this warm modern residence showcases thoughtful design, global inspiration, and spaces created for gathering.

Featured on this year’s Roswell Women’s Tour of Homes, this newly constructed residence near downtown Roswell is a masterclass in intentional living, timeless design, and inspired collaboration. Completed in 2025, the 7,450-square-foot custom home offers a rare blend of architectural sophistication and everyday warmth— designed to support vibrant entertaining and long-term livability.

For the homeowners, the journey began with one clear priority: location. Downtown Roswell was non-negotiable. Drawn to its walkability, historic charm, and strong sense of community, they envisioned a home that felt connected to the heart of the city while still serving as a private retreat. “We wanted to live somewhere with history and character,” they share, “but also create a space that felt personal and restorative.”

Built from the ground up, the six-bedroom, seven-bath home—including a dedicated office suite and private mother-in-law quarters—was brought to life through a highly collaborative process. The homeowners partnered with Lehigh Homes & Development, architect Bold SMAC Designs, and Sara Morris and her team at Morris Design Co. Together, they created a home rooted in how the family truly lives, works, and gathers. “Every decision was intentional,” the homeowners explain. “This was a partnership built on listening, trust, and shared creativity.”

The home’s aesthetic is best described as warm modern with a strong sense of place. Traditional architectural elements anchor the design, while modern lines and bold features keep it feeling current and timeless. Travel played a significant role in shaping the vision, with subtle European influences woven throughout—from a Norway-inspired slate roof to architectural details inspired by destinations visited over the years. Each element tells a story, adding depth and meaning to the design.

Natural light was a must-have, and it defines the home’s atmosphere. Expansive window walls, larger-than-life sliders, and thoughtful sightlines flood the interiors with sunlight and create seamless transitions to the outdoors. One of the home’s most striking features—the dramatic staircase and window wall—required complex structural engineering, but the payoff is a showstopping focal point that still feels effortless.

Functionality was never an afterthought. The home was designed with long-term living in mind, incorporating features

that quietly enhance daily life. A private office with its own entrance supports a modern work-from-home lifestyle, while an elevator running from the basement to the attic adds both convenience and future-ready accessibility. “We didn’t realize how much we’d appreciate it until everyday life set in,” they note. “It’s those details that truly elevate the experience.”

The kitchen serves as the heart of the home, effortlessly accommodating both quiet mornings and large gatherings. Designed for entertaining, it flows directly into the outdoor living spaces—an intentional choice that allows hosting to feel natural and unforced. “This home was made to gather people,” the homeowners say. “When we entertain, the house just moves with the energy.”

Outdoors, the property transforms into a resort-like escape. A pool, covered porch, patios, and courtyard function as true extensions of the living space, designed for year-round enjoyment. Thoughtful landscaping and layered lighting complement the architecture, ensuring the exterior feels as intentional as the interior.

As part of the Roswell Women’s Tour of Homes, this residence reflects not only beautiful design but also a deep connection to community. It honors Roswell’s historic roots while embracing modern living—demonstrating how elegance, functionality, and place can coexist seamlessly.

When asked to describe life in the home in three words, the answer is immediate: Inspired. Intentional. Inviting. It’s a home that welcomes, supports, and evolves—an ideal showcase for a tour that celebrates both exceptional homes and the women behind them.

This home is proudly featured in the Roswell Women’s Tour of Homes , an annual event celebrating exceptional residences, inspired design, and the women who shape our community.

Tour guests will experience this thoughtfully designed home firsthand—exploring its architectural details, lightfilled interiors, and resort-style outdoor living spaces, all while supporting a meaningful local cause.

2026 INTERIOR DESIGN TRENDS:

PATTERN, COLOR, TEXTURE AND

MAKE A COMEBACK

DESIGNERS EMBRACE EARTHY PALETTES, SCULPTURAL FURNITURE, LAYERED TEXTURES, AND PERSONAL STORYTELLING TO CREATE COMFORTING, EXPRESSIVE HOMES ROOTED IN NATURE GLOBALLY.

In the interior design world, 2026 is shaping up to be a year defined by three key elements: color, pattern, and texture—a collective sigh of relief after years of playing it safe with neutrals. While most aren’t diving headfirst into full-scale maximalism, we’re seeing a clear shift toward intentional richness, with more thoughtful use of color, pattern, and layered materials.

Color is back, but in a smart, confident way. Rather than feeling chaotic, palettes are carefully considered and richly saturated. As soft blues and cool grays fade into the background, sophisticated jewel tones are stepping into the spotlight, bringing depth and personality to interiors. Pattern is growing larger in scale and taking on a more prominent role. No longer confined to throw pillows, it’s making its way onto statement furniture, walls, and artwork through bold textiles and wallcoverings that command attention. Layering tactile materials is what brings it all together. Velvets, mohair, and grasscloths help balance and support these bolder colors and patterns, adding warmth and visual interest throughout the room.

Perhaps the most exciting shift is how clients are embracing color and pattern across all design styles, not just contemporary spaces. Even in our most traditional projects, we’re seeing entire rooms wrapped in floor-toceiling trim, classic tongue-and-groove paneling, and fully color-drenched finishes. There’s no better way to make classic furnishings and antiques truly shine. We love pairing a timeless walnut chest with modern art, or reimagining a classic Louis chair in a punchy, unexpected fabric.

As color, pattern, and texture become more expressive, the finishes we choose are evolving right alongside them. Color is playing a larger role not just in paint and textiles, but in the woods and metals that anchor a space. Wood tones, in particular, are warming back up. After years of pale oaks and washed-out finishes dominating the market, we’re seeing a return to richer, deeper woods—walnut, chestnut, stained white oak, and even moments of mahogany—used to ground a space and add visual weight.

These warmer tones pair beautifully with saturated color palettes and layered textures, bringing depth and a sense of permanence that lighter woods often lack. This shift is also bringing antiques back into the equation in a meaningful way. As clients move toward warmer woods

and more character-rich finishes, vintage and antique pieces feel less like outliers and more like natural anchors within a space. A timeworn chest, an inherited table, or a collected case piece now feels intentional rather than old- fashioned—adding soul, contrast, and authenticity to rooms that balance modern elements with history. Metal finishes are following suit as well. Cooler chromes and brushed nickels are giving way to warmer metals—antique brass, bronze, and aged finishes—that complement these darker woods and reinforce the overall move toward interiors that feel richer, more collected, and more timeless. Even better, these metal textures can now be thoughtfully mixed within a space: a bronze lamp paired with a brass cabinet handle, or an aged gold mirror hung above an antique copper console. When done intentionally, mixing metals adds dimensionality and visual interest without ever feeling chaotic.

At its core, 2026 design is about confidence— confident color, confident pattern, confident layering, and confident mixing of old and new. Homes are becoming more expressive and less formulaic, reflecting the people who live in them rather than a prescribed aesthetic. The result is interiors that feel richer, warmer, and more personal—spaces that are not just designed to be seen, but designed to be lived in.

"In 2026, interiors are about confidence and personality. Whether it’s rich jewel tones, layered textures, warm woods, mixed metals, or treasured antiques, every choice should feel intentional. The best spaces aren’t just beautiful, they tell a story about the people who live in them." —Ryan Williams, Owner, Artisan Design Studio, Roswell, GA

As design becomes more expressive, homeowners have a real opportunity to create spaces that feel elevated today while also strengthening a home’s market position for the future. From a real estate perspective, strong design can support value and buyer interest, but the most successful homes are the ones that balance individuality with broad appeal.

Homes that feel cohesive and thoughtfully executed tend to resonate more quickly with buyers during showings. While buyers may not remember every finish or fabric, they remember how a home feels and whether it seems easy to live in. Design choices that enhance the architecture and flow of a home often translate to stronger interest and smoother decision making.

Color is most effective in resale when it defines a space without overwhelming it. Saturated tones can work especially well in rooms with a clear purpose such as dining rooms, studies, or powder rooms, where they read as intentional and polished. In primary living areas, a more restrained approach often helps buyers imagine their own furniture and future updates, which can reduce hesitation.

Pattern can also play a role in elevating perceived value when it is used selectively. A well-placed wall treatment or upholstered element can add character and signal a level of care and investment. From a buyer’s standpoint, pattern is most appealing when it feels like a feature rather than a commitment that must be carried throughout the home.

Texture Consistently performs well in the resale market. Natural materials and layered finishes tend to

communicate quality and longevity; qualities buyers respond to across price points. These elements add depth and warmth without feeling tied to a specific trend, making them a safer design investment.

Architectural details remain one of the strongest contributors to long term value. Millwork, paneling, built-ins, and thoughtful trim create a sense of permanence and craftsmanship that buyers recognize immediately. These features elevate a home’s baseline appeal and allow cosmetic elements to be updated over time without diminishing the overall character.

When homeowners are updating with resale in mind, working with a designer can make a meaningful difference. Designers like Ryan approach projects with an understanding of how families actually live, not just how spaces look. Thoughtful layouts, durable material choices, smart storage solutions, and flexible spaces all support daily life while quietly strengthening resale appeal. This kind of planning helps homeowners avoid costly missteps and ensures updates feel both livable now and market ready later.

Where caution comes into play is with highly personalized or bold design statements that dominate large, open areas, or require significant effort to change. While personality is important, elements that feel too specific can narrow the buyer pool. When preparing for resale, editing or softening select features often preserves design integrity while increasing marketability.

Homes that perform best in the market are not generic, but they are welcoming. When design choices support function, flow, and architectural character, they become an asset that enhances both lifestyle and resale value.
