One of Susan’s favorite legacies to the Roswell community is the Serenity Garden in Roswell Area Park. In 2005, she developed the concept of a peaceful garden within the park where residents could go to pray or meditate, and groups could gather for events. With the help of the city’s Recreation and Parks Department and other funding, this signature garden was dedicated in 2006 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Roswell Arts Festival. Some of the duties of a modern-day department like Roswell include fire suppression, emergency medical services, community risk reduction, emergency management, swift water rescue, and public education, just to name a few. My inspiration comes from my faith which emphasizes service above self. As fire Chief, my job is to ensure the Roswell Fire Department team has what it needs to provide the best customer service possible to our community and business owners. This includes reimagining our role in the community, constantly improving, and evoking positive change.

This past two years have gone by so quickly, yet so much has happened in Roswell, across this country and around the world. When I arrived in Roswell, I found a police department that was full of talented and dedicated employees. The men and women work together to ensure that Roswell remains one of the safest cities in Georgia. The Roswell Police Department (RPD) continues to provide a very high level of service. We have made great strides in the past two years, and that is only the beginning. RPD will continue to improve and become the premier law enforcement agency in Georgia. Inspiration in solving problems comes from my 30 years of prior service. My service to the DeKalb County Police Department has conditioned my response to and provided a roadmap to solving problems, especially critical incident response. Through my service I have learned how to treat others with compassion. My goal in solving problems is to always James W. Conroy , Chief of Police

I believe when we all work together toward a common goal, we can achieve anything for the City of Roswell. I’m always looking to build on partnerships throughout Roswell and Fulton County. Being a small business owner, I like to forge new relationships with the city’s business community and that means getting together to hold meaningful conversations. As Mayor, I believe in having an open door policy. I like to host periodic lunches with business owners to hear their concerns about the community. I also host periodic "Coffees with the Mayor" to plug in and connect with residents in an informal setting. I believe there is much to be learned from these conversations. Although we have all been tested during the COVID pandemic, I believe our focus on relationships and keeping our city financially strong while providing quality services to residents has helped us build our resiliency and strengthen our ability to meet future challenges. The restaurant takes its name from the Old Roswell Mill close by. Scott and Randy McCray, our owners, took elements of the old mill, and built our restaurant based on a rustic, but elegant design. We want our patrons to feel like they’re at home by being able to cozy up by our fireplace. My favorites aspects of the restaurant are the big marble top bar, and outdoor fireplace. The hallway between our dining rooms is made from salvaged metals from North Carolina, which also gives a unique feel. When our customers first sit, they’ll see the unique wooden handcrafted tables from a local carpenter. We use candles in mason jars as centerpieces, which helps the southern rustic vibe. 26

Noca serves a fresh, rotating selection of fresh appetizers, salads and main courses, ranging from a jumbo sweet corn crab cake to nibble on, to a delicious Ribeye for dinner. Noca also boasts an impressive bar selection with craft beer, wine and hand-crafted cocktails. Noca aims to provide an elegant, yet approachable vibe at the north end of vibrant Canton Street. Guests can relax on our large patio on a beautiful day or celebrate a special occasion in the dining room. The vibe intertwines high-class, impeccable service with a menu and atmosphere anyone will enjoy. One of my favorite design elements is the light fixture over the community table near the front of the restaurant. It’s modern while still staying classy and providing function in the space. We also recently changed our logo to reflect the restaurant better. Our fire pit on the patio is a guest favorite. Place settings vary among our bar space, outdoor patio and indoor dining room. At the bar, guests sit down to a blank slate, giving them room to order and mingle. In our dining room, white tablecloths adorn each table, with plateware and a black napkin with rolled silverware. Outside we have black tables that we add a place setting to if guests choose to dine with us. We keep the style simple, without too much adornment, so that guests can really focus on the beautiful food and drink placed in front of them. 28

This house was built in the 1800s so we wanted maintain some of those characteristics and feel, with exposed brick fireplaces, to keep the rustic look. One of my favorite aspects of the restaurant is the fireplace in the main dining room. The top half restaurant burned more than 11 years ago. The fireplace captures the memory of that fire. To me it signifies the strength to carry on and move forward. For private events upstairs in our “Tree House,” our place settings are very special. This is a space with seating for 75 people inside and outside, and it also has a stage and a full bar. Our place settings typically consists of a runner, chargers, fresh assorted flowers, white and red wine glasses, folded napkins, and silverware. These table settings change based on our guests vision. We want to make dining an experience.
