HOLBROOK CELEBRATES OPENING Holbrook Woodstock, an active adult living community celebrated its grand opening with a lavish event introducing a new era of the roaring twenties, conceived and produced by Roswell’s Events of a Lifetime Productions. SCHOOL NEWS Mountain Park Elementary School is delighted to offer an elementary construction program – the only elementary program in Georgia. The hands-on course is provided for students in second through fifth grades in a weekly class through a partnership between Fulton’s Career Technical and Agricultural Education and Construction Education Foundation of Georgia. Students use tools, build confidence, vocabulary, and fine motor and math skills as well as career foundations. Roswell High School’s Japanese language program, under the direction of teacher Seiko Onuki, was selected to participate in the 2021-2022 Global Classmates program in which students will interact with Japanese high school students each week via an online platform. Hembree Springs Elementary School received state recognition at the annual Georgia PTA Convention and Leadership Training event. Northwood Elementary School has partnered with the statewide Georgia SHAPE (Student Health and Physical Education) initiative and The Home Depot to set up a community garden. 12

TO BE TINY STAY AWHILE AT TOW-TALLY PEACHY

WHEN LAUREN AND MICHAEL MEEKS LOOKED INTO THEIR FUTURE, THEY DREAMED BIG AND SAW SOMETHING SMALL. The Tucker couple wanted to explore life with a tiny home. “My husband and I have been fascinated with the idea of tiny homes for a long time now. houses are crazy expensive so we started looking for alternatives.” They looked into all the options - a tiny house shell to finish themselves, school bus conversions, converted shipping container, and eventually a 35-foot, fifth-wheel camper. They found a great deal on Facebook Marketplace that included delivery, and that sealed the deal. Next up, decorating their new baby. “We knew we wanted it to be a celebration of Atlanta, and we’re both pretty corny people, so ‘Towtally Peachy’ came up pretty quickly once we started brainstorming,”

says Lauren. For the exterior, they designed a tribute to their hometown of Atlanta, a mural wrapping around the exterior of Tow-tally Peachy. “We spent literally months scraping off all the boring camper decals that originally came with the camper. Then we designed the mural from scratch and hired a local muralist to do the actual painting. It was a ton of work but it looks so good and I couldn’t be happier with it,” says Michael. Bookings have been solid. “Most of our guests are actually locals looking for a unique staycation getaway. We recently hosted a birthday party for a 10-year-old boy who’s obsessed with all things Atlanta - it was so much fun,” says Lauren. She points out-of-towners toward Roswell to explore. “I like the Old Mill Park and Vickery creek trail, Gate City Brewing Company, Tables and Main, and of course just walking around Roswell town square,” she says.
