Nevada small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities. At Nevada State Bank, we are proud to support them, this month and every month.
Nevada State Bank’s 13th annual Small Business Survey shares perspectives from business leaders across the state, revealing how they are navigating challenges, planning for growth, and shaping the state’s business future.

There’s something powerful about a woman who decides to become fully herself.
Not who she was told to be.
Not who she learned to be to fit in or be accepted.
But who she actually is.
This issue is about that.
About women who are building, leading, creating, evolving, and doing it in their own way. Women who have taken risks, made changes, started over, and kept going even when it wasn’t easy.

Because power doesn’t look the same for everyone.
Sometimes it’s building something big.
Sometimes it’s making a quiet decision that changes everything. Sometimes it’s just being honest with yourself for the first time.
What I see in this community, and what I love so much, is the depth of the women here. The resilience. The way we keep growing, even when life stretches us.
And that’s what I hope you feel as you go through these pages.
That you recognize yourself in a story.
That something resonates.
That you see a new possibility for yourself.
Wherever you are right now, you’re allowed to evolve. You’re allowed to change your mind. You’re allowed to want more, or something different.
And you’re allowed to become the woman you’re meant to be.
Thank you for being here and for being part of this community.
With heart,

The arrival of spring in Southern Nevada gives “green thumbs” throughout the community a chance to wake up their landscapes. It’s also a perfect time of year to upgrade your thirsty grass to drip-irrigated, water-efficient plants and trees—and earn a little green while you’re at it!
The Southern Nevada Water Authority’s (SNWA) Water Smart Landscapes Rebate Program (WSL) offers qualifying single-family homeowners a cash incentive of $5 per square foot for the first 10,000 sq. ft. of grass upgraded to water-efficient landscapes, and $2.50 per sq. ft. after that.
If you need more convincing, Las Vegas Valley Water District customers can earn an additional $2 per square foot, bringing your total rebate to $7 per sq. ft. (up to 10,000 sq. ft.) and $4.50 per sq. ft. thereafter.
Because trees are a vital element of any landscape, the SNWA also offers a rebate of $100 for each new tree you install (up to 100% canopy coverage) as part of your landscape conversion. You can find a list of qualifying trees and tips for keeping trees healthy at snwa.com. Since the program’s launch in 2023, the SNWA has provided rebates for more than 8,200 new trees in the community— the largest incentive ever offered .

Replacing grass with desert-adapted landscapes is important to help the community conserve our limited water resources That’s because each square foot of grass needs 73 gallons of water annually to survive in our harsh climate; on the other hand, a square foot of drip-irrigated landscaping can stay vibrant and healthy with only 18 gallons of water per year.
By upgrading your grass to water-efficient landscapes, you can help the community conserve water— and you’ll save money on your monthly bill in the long run. For more landscape care tips and to enroll in the WSL program, visit snwa.com .

Women turning sharp instincts, cool nerves, and bold bets into everyday leadership wins

In business, success rarely comes with a clear playbook. Like a high-stakes game, the most powerful women leaders know how to make smart moves with incomplete information, manage risk without losing their cool, and walk away from the table when the odds no longer serve them. In this “ladies” issue, local women share how they stay composed, trust their instincts, and bet boldly on themselves with heels on, game face ready.

Executive Vice President/Shareholder, Cragin & Pike
WHAT PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL STRATEGY HAS HELPED YOU MAKE SMART DECISIONS WHEN FACED WITH UNCERTAINTY?
I focus on gathering the right information, seeking insight from trusted voices, and then asking myself one defining question: Will this decision serve both the present and the long-term vision?
As women in leadership, we’re often balancing logic with instinct, and I’ve learned that’s not a weakness, it’s an advantage. The ability to pause, evaluate, and then move forward with clarity allows you to make confident decisions even when the path isn’t perfectly defined.
HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN CONFIDENCE AND COMPOSURE WHEN THE “STAKES” FEEL HIGH IN YOUR BUSINESS OR CAREER?
I shift my focus away from the weight of the moment and back to the people I serve and the values I lead by.
True leadership presence isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about how you show up. Staying calm, decisive, and intentional sets the tone for everyone around you; leading with both strength and grace, especially when it matters most.

WHAT PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL STRATEGY HAS HELPED YOU MAKE SMART DECISIONS WHEN FACED WITH UNCERTAINTY?
When faced with uncertainty, I rely on experience, preparation, and listening. I’ve learned that slowing down to gather the right information, while trusting both data and intuition, leads to better decisions. Surrounding myself with knowledgeable people and staying adaptable has allowed me to navigate change with clarity and confidence.
HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN CONFIDENCE AND COMPOSURE WHEN THE “STAKES” FEEL HIGH IN YOUR BUSINESS OR CAREER?
I stay grounded by focusing on what I can control and remembering the bigger picture. Confidence comes from knowing I’ve done the work, built strong relationships, and remained true to my values. When the pressure is high, I take a step back, breathe, and lead with calm because steady leadership sets the tone for everyone around you.

Vice President of Destination Sales, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority
WHAT PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL STRATEGY HAS HELPED YOU MAKE SMART DECISIONS WHEN FACED WITH UNCERTAINTY?
When I’m faced with ambiguity, I slow down to get clear on three things: the data, the people, and the why. I ground myself in the facts—performance, trends, and real-time insights—so I’m not reacting from emotion alone. Then I listen closely to my team and our customers, because the best decisions come from the people closest to the work and the client. Finally, I come back to purpose: Does this choice support Las Vegas as a leading meetings destination and create long-term value for our customers and community? That mix of instincts, trusted voices, and a clear why lets me move decisively, even when I only have limited clarity.
HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN CONFIDENCE AND COMPOSURE WHEN THE “STAKES” FEEL HIGH IN YOUR BUSINESS OR CAREER?
Early in my career, I thought composure meant pretending I wasn’t nervous; now I define it as being authentic, prepared, present, and people focused. I over-prepare on what I can control, such as knowing the business case, who the players in the room are, anticipating tough questions, and aligning with my team so we’re unified. Once I’m in the room, I intentionally shift my attention away from myself and onto service: How can I make this easier for the client, and how can I clearly advocate for my team and my city? That mindset shift calms my nerves almost immediately. Confidence, for me, is not having every perfect answer—it’s being honest, humble, and steady enough that my team can mirror that energy when it matters most.

WHAT PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL STRATEGY HAS HELPED YOU MAKE SMART DECISIONS WHEN FACED WITH UNCERTAINTY?
When I’m facing uncertainty, I’ve learned not to rush decisions just to relieve pressure. I need to look at the fundamentals of what I actually do know, what are my assumptions, and what outcomes matter most in the long run. I also pay attention to my body’s response. If something feels forced or reactive, I usually give it more time. Some of my best decisions have come from just slowing down just enough to allow clear thinking with my intuition rather than reacting to urgency.
HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN CONFIDENCE AND COMPOSURE WHEN THE “STAKES” FEEL HIGH IN YOUR BUSINESS OR CAREER?
I’ve learned confidence isn’t about eliminating stress, but more about managing it. When stakes are high, I focus on controlling what I can such as preparation, my mindset, and how I treat others. I separate urgency from importance. Most high-pressure situations feel urgent but are not all are long term. When I can fall back on my preparation and being grounded, I make better decisions. Confidence for me comes from my own evidence that I’ve handled hard things before so I can trust myself to handle what’s in front of me.

Building space for women to lead, learn, and succeed together
ARTICLE BY KRISTI SELLERS | PHOTOGRAPHY BY AEON COLLECTIVE AND JAQUELINE ANDREA
Collective Women’s Leadership is changing the way women approach professional growth, proving that success does not have to be cookie cutter. Founded by Joyce Toti, the organization was built on a simple and powerful idea: women thrive when they learn, lead, and grow together.
Through mentorship and community-driven programs, Collective Women’s Leadership has created a space where women at every stage of their careers can build confidence, strengthen their skills, and support one another along the way.
“After more than two decades in leadership roles across highly competitive industries, I kept seeing the same pattern of brilliant, capable women who weren’t lacking talent, but were lacking access to the kind of leadership development that actually changes how you show up. There were plenty of networking groups, but very few spaces focused on how to lead, how to communicate with confidence, advocate for yourself, and navigate high-level environments. Collective Women’s Leadership was created to fill that gap. It’s a space where women connect, grow, practice, and step into the best version of themselves as leaders.” said Joyce.
For many women, leadership development can feel intimidating or slightly out of reach, but Collective Women’s Leadership takes a more personal approach. The organization’s programs combine practical career guidance, communication training, and mentorship, helping women develop not only the skills they need to succeed, but the confidence to grow and use them.
According to Joyce, “Our goal is to become the most influential and accessible leadership community for women at every stage of their career. We’re focused on four core pillars: networking, community, education, and mindfulness. Long-term, we’re building a national ecosystem where women can walk into any room, whether it’s a boardroom, a new city, or a new role and immediately feel equipped, supported, and ready to lead.”
One of the defining features of Collective Women’s Leadership is its strong emphasis on community. Members participate in group sessions, workshops, and networking events. Conversations often go beyond resumes and job titles, focusing on topics such as confidence, work-life balance, and personal goals. This approach helps members feel seen as whole people, not just professionals.
“What makes CWL special is the way women show up for each other. We’ve had members report landing new roles after gaining the confidence to advocate for themselves, launch businesses with the support of the community, and build meaningful relationships that extend far beyond events. There’s a level of encouragement and accountability here that’s rare. You’re surrounded by women who genuinely want to see you succeed and are willing to support you in getting there.” said Joyce.

“Our goal is to become the most influential and accessible leadership community for women at every stage of their career.”

Mentorship plays a vital and central role in the Collective Women’s Leadership experience. Rather than a one-time meeting or formal pairing, mentorship is woven into every part of the community. Members have access to experienced leaders who share real-world advice and honest feedback, creating an atmosphere where learning feels natural and safe. This kind of guidance can be especially valuable for women who may not have mentors in their workplace or industry.
“CWL is a leadership movement. We’re redefining what it looks like for women to lead by creating spaces where growth is intentional, connection is meaningful, and leadership is practiced.” said Joyce.
Collective Women’s Leadership also works with companies that want to invest in the growth of their female employees. Corporate partnerships allow organizations to bring leadership training and mentorship programs directly into the workplace, creating opportunities for women to advance while staying connected to their teams. These programs are designed to build stronger leaders while also fostering healthier, more collaborative work environments.
“CWL is designed for women at all stages whether you’re early in your career, stepping into leadership, or already leading teams and organizations.
Currently we have chapters in Las Vegas and Austin, with a chapter in Scottsdale coming in fall of 2026.” said Joyce.
Women who are ready to invest in themselves are invited to explore upcoming programs, events, and mentorship opportunities and see firsthand how powerful shared growth can be.
According to Joyce, “We encourage women to attend an event and experience CWL firsthand. We have free coffee connects, workshops, or larger ticketed events that are often open to the public. It’s the best way to feel the energy of the community and see the value in real time.”
There are opportunities for women to create their own chapter of CWL. As Joyce points out, “We love working with women who feel called to bring CWL into their city. The best place to start is by reaching out through our website. From there, we walk potential chapter leaders through our model, expectations, and support system. We’ve built CWL to be both structured and scalable, so women aren’t starting from scratch, they’re stepping into a proven framework with real support behind them.”

For Nittaya Parawong, cooking has always been about more than food. It’s about family, tradition, and the quiet joy of bringing people together around a table.
Today, Nittaya owns Nittaya’s Secret Kitchen, a beloved Thai restaurant in southern Nevada known for its authentic flavors and warm hospitality. Her journey to becoming a successful restaurant owner began thousands of miles away in northeastern Thailand.
Nittaya was born and raised in the province of Ubon Ratchathani, where her earliest memories center on her mother’s restaurant kitchen. From a young age, she watched her mother cook for customers and family, learning the rhythm of a restaurant and the power of a home-cooked meal.
“My mother is the biggest influence on my love of Thai cooking,” Nittaya says. “She always knew how to make people happy with her food.”
Those early lessons stayed with her. Watching her mother cook taught her that food carried meaning beyond the plate. “Cooking is not just about making food,” she explains. “It’s about bringing people together and sharing love through every dish.”
In 1995, Nittaya moved to the United States to finish her accounting degree. At the time, she thought her future might lie in a more traditional career. But it didn’t take long for her to realize that life behind a desk wasn’t where her heart belonged. “I knew I wouldn’t be happy sitting at a desk working with numbers all day,” she recalls. “Deep down, my passion was somewhere else.”
In 1999, Nittaya opened her first restaurant, Jasmine Thai Gourmet. At the time, Thai food was still unfamiliar to many American diners. “Chinese food was much more well known than

Thai cuisine,” she explains. “I had to work hard to introduce people to the flavors of Thai cooking.”
While Jasmine Thai Gourmet found success, the economic downturn between 2008 and 2010 brought serious challenges. Like many small businesses during that time, the restaurant struggled, and Nittaya eventually made the difficult decision to close its doors. Instead of giving up, she chose to start again. With limited capital, she opened a smaller restaurant and named it Nittaya’s Secret Kitchen, a tribute to the home-style cooking she grew up with.

Nittaya’s philosophy in the kitchen has always been simple. “I cook the way I like to eat and the way I grew up with,” she says. “My goal is to stay true to the flavors and traditions I learned from my family.”
One dish she especially encourages customers to try is papaya salad with salted egg, a recipe that holds special meaning for her. “My mom even won an award for her papaya salad,” she says proudly. “It’s one of my favorite dishes.”
Running a restaurant is never easy, but Nittaya says the challenges have been worth it. “Building and running restaurants has been both challenging and rewarding,” she says. “Every step keeps me motivated.”
Her leadership style reflects the same values she learned growing up. “The best way to lead is by setting an example,” she says. “When your team sees you working just as hard as they do, they respect that.”
At Nittaya’s Secret Kitchen, employees and customers alike feel are welcome as a part of the family. “Our customers are like family to us,” she says. “We are very grateful for their support.” That sense of warmth has always been central to her vision. “I built my restaurant to be a place where I would enjoy being all day,” she says. “I want everyone who walks in to feel comfortable and at home.”
One of her proudest moments came when her children told her that their friends loved the restaurant. “They said their friends thought their mom was famous,” she says with a laugh. “That made all the hard work worth it.”
From a small province in Thailand to building a successful restaurant in Nevada, Nittaya’s journey is a testament to perseverance and staying true to one’s roots. “Passion, hard work, and believing in yourself will help you achieve your dreams.”

KEVIN BACON, SIXDEGREES.ORG, DUNCAN CHANNON, ADVERTISING WEEK, AND VEGAS-BASED SHERO FOUNDATION UNITE ON NATIONAL CAMPAIGN HONORING SURVIVORS AND PROMOTING PREVENTION

Before a girl ever learns to drive or decides what she wants to be, she should have the chance to simply be young and to imagine, to play, to believe in herself. Girlhood is storybooks and trading friendship bracelets, whispering plans and inside jokes, singing into hairbrush microphones, and knowing the world will wait for you to grow. It is supposed to be a time of innocence and growth; a time when every girl deserves to grow up feeling safe, seen, and free.
But for thousands of girls across America, that freedom is stolen long before they have a chance to grow up. Sex trafficking doesn’t always look like
“Girlhood is supposed to be a time of innocence and growth—a time when every girl deserves to grow up feeling safe, seen, and free.”

we imagine—it doesn’t happen only in dark alleys or foreign places. It happens online, in neighborhoods, and too often in plain sight. Traffickers exploit trust, opportunity, and vulnerability, taking not just safety but the sense of belonging and possibility that define girlhood itself.
Kevin Bacon and the national nonprofit he founded, SixDegrees.org , are working to help reclaim that girlhood by raising awareness, sparking prevention, and amplifying the voices of those fighting every day to protect it. Through the organization’s Purpose, Produced initiative with Advertising Week, Six Degrees pairs top creative agencies with deserving
nonprofits to create powerful, pro bono campaigns for good. Out of organizations across the country, they selected Las Vegas’ SHERO Foundation—a survivor-led nonprofit at the heart of this fight—to collaborate on a campaign that brings these stolen stories into the light.
“Purpose, Produced was designed to show the world what’s possible when grassroots nonprofits have access to resources and expertise that are typically out of reach,” said Rachel Young, communications manager for SixDegrees.org . Our team was drawn to SHERO’s emphasis on centering lived experience, and we’ve been so moved by the response to ‘Girlhood.’”
The result of that partnership is “Protect Girlhood,” a stunning awareness campaign created by the award-winning agency Duncan Channon. Instead of focusing on the crime itself, Girlhood reveals the innocence, confidence, and joy that were taken. The campaign captures everyday scenes of girls being girls: laughing with friends, creating TikToks, walking to school. Meanwhile, real survivors share their stories in voiceovers, describing what was quietly taken from them when no one realized what was happening.
The message is both simple and deeply powerful: what’s stolen through trafficking isn’t just safety—it’s childhood itself.

“Protecting girlhood isn’t just a campaign, it’s a collective responsibility. Through education, awareness, and compassion, we can help every girl hold on to her story.”
For SHERO, founded by survivor Kimberly Miles and led by advocates, this partnership is nothing short of transformative. The organization has built a powerful network of resources for vulnerable girls to be educated and to support victims escaping trafficking. Many victims continue attending school, interacting on social media, and living at home, which is why SHERO’s prevention work shows up where girls already are. Its SHERO Shield initiative works within schools and communities to stop trafficking before it starts.
Now, through this national platform, SHERO’s message reaches farther than ever before. This recognition gives a voice to local girls and women whose courage continues to inspire the organization’s work; proof that what began as a grassroots mission now stands as a model for change.
Protect Girlhood was created entirely pro bono, brought to life by generosity and teamwork. Director Sean Murphy and
cinematographer Tyler Trant captured vivid snapshots of everyday youth in roller rinks, classrooms, and sunlit parks alive with possibility. The production became its own symbol of hope: people from every background coming together to protect something worth saving. The result is a film powered by community and shared conviction, much like SHERO itself.
For SHERO, this moment is about more than recognition. It’s about protecting girls and reminding everyone that awareness is the first step toward prevention.
“Protecting girlhood isn’t just a campaign, it’s a collective responsibility,” says Lisa Hayden, Operations Manager, SHERO Foundation. “Through education, awareness, and compassion, we can help every girl hold on to the laughter, curiosity, and courage that define her story.”
If even one family recognizes the signs sooner, or if one girl hesitates before replying to a message from a stranger online, then “Girlhood” has already made an impact.

• Flowers of your choice
• Scissors
• Twine or floral tape
• Ribbon (optional)
Spring: the days grow longer, weather turns warmer, and the earth’s greenery starts to make its reappearance. During this time, flowers shoot up from the ground in a ballet of colors and movement. Walking outside becomes a cherished moment to breathe the fresh air and immerse yourself in lush surroundings. Being inside your home turns dreary and dull, everything that thrives is now outside, but this can easily be remedied. Why not bring some life inside? Make a spring floral bouquet to lighten up your space. Flowers add color and character to any room that needs a little lift, and our step-by-step guide will inspire you to create something grand.

• Decorative paper (optional)
• Bouquet sleeve (optional)

“Just remember, whatever way you choose to decorate your bouquet, you will end with a personalized piece made with love and care.”
Directions:

Step 1: When creating a beautiful floral arrangement, the first thing to do is decide on a color scheme and prepare the flowers. Have fun deciding what colors you want to play with. Perhaps go pastel for spring or match the hues to other decor items in your house. Once you have picked your flowers, you need to do a little prep work. First, remove extra leaves and damaged petals from the stems. Then make a fresh diagonal cut to the bottom of all the flowers. This allows each bloom to soak up as much water as they need.
Step 2: Now it’s arranging time — think focal and filler. The best way to start the arranging process is by choosing your most interesting or favorite flowers — this will be your focal point. Hold the focal flower(s) upright and add your supporting blooms around it. Make sure to turn the bouquet as you build so that the design is as desired. Once this is complete, add your filler flowers to finalize the look. Filler options include baby’s breath, ivy, fern, eucalyptus and more.
Step 3: Let’s get ready to tie. Once you’ve arranged your bouquet, tie all the stems together using twine or floral tape. If using twine, we recommend securing it in a small bow in case you would like to rearrange at any given time. Floral tape is easy to move on and off for this purpose as well.
Step 4: Add the finishing touches. At this point, you are almost done with your bouquet and all that’s left is embellishments. There are so many ways to further adorn your creation: one way we love is to wrap it in fun decorative paper or put it in a special sleeve made just for flowers. If this idea isn’t for you, we recommend going to Pinterest for inspiration. Just remember, whatever way you choose to decorate your bouquet, you will end with a personalized piece made with love and care.

As the only practice in the Las Vegas Valley currently offering EndoLift, Lumin Physician Aesthetics is the destination for women seeking advanced, nonsurgical cosmetic services close to home. Framing the treatment as both exclusive access and available through the Valley’s sole provider, board-certified physicians Dr. Michelle Danielian and Dr. Aria Fazlinejad lead a practice that approaches women’s wellness with meticulous expertise and care.
“Our approach focuses on structural rejuvenation and tissue quality rather than superficial or temporary fixes,” shares Dr. Danielian. Clients are treated with personalized plans that prioritize safety, use scientifically backed decision making, and are clinically driven. “By combining medical expertise with selective adoption of innovative technologies, we are able to deliver results that are both reproducible and natural in appearance.”
These results are evident in treatments such as EndoLift, a minimally invasive procedure that uses a 1470 nm wavelength laser to tighten and tone skin while boosting collagen production in both the face and body. Its rapidly growing appeal to women is tied to its accessibility and flexibility.
“For many women, its ability to achieve measurable tightening and contouring without the morbidity, downtime, or cost associated with surgical intervention,” Dr. Danielian says, “is the desire.” And with the demands of everyday life that most navigate, EndoLift allows women to get the results they seek as they manage their own responsibilities. “Patients can resume regular activities the same day,” Dr. Fazlinejad says. “This makes it ideal for people on-the-go.”

Dr. Danielian also highlights its reach to women who have limited viable options. “[EndoLift] fills a significant treatment gap for patients who are not yet candidates for surgery, but who require more than non-invasive modalities can provide.”
Patients undergoing care with Lumin Physician Aesthetics can trust the providers in Dr. Danielian and Dr. Fazlinejad, who have trained extensively in the United States and abroad. “We have [completed] over 100 hours of training in order to get the best results without any complications,” Dr. Fazlinejad explains. “We want our patients to feel confident that they are getting treatments by board-certified physicians and by people who care about patient safety and perfect results.”
Safety requires rigorous training that goes beyond basic device mechanics. As board-certified physicians, Dr. Danielian and Dr. Fazlinejad possess comprehensive knowledge of treatments like EndoLift. “Understanding vectoring, depth control and energy delivery is crucial to achieving consistent and safe outcomes,” Dr. Danielian says, who adds that this “ongoing education is a core component of our clinical philosophy.”
This steadfast dedication to their work and the true respect they have for these treatments is what makes the ‘Lumin Difference,’ especially with EndoLift.
“EndoLift is highly operator-dependent, and outcomes are directly influenced by the provider’s understanding of anatomy, laser-tissue interaction and treatment planning,” Dr. Danielian stresses.
The ‘Lumin Difference’ also means fully servicing each client. By prioritizing “patient education and appropriate candidacy,” Dr. Danielian says that the results produced at Lumin Physicians Aesthetics are a multi-faceted win.
“Ultimately, our goal is to deliver clinically sound, natural-appearing results that improve both tissue integrity and patient confidence while maintaining the highest standards of safety and care.”

The power of taste, trust, and the courage to “just start.”
She didn’t have a business plan, a media budget, or even a name anyone could pronounce. What Becky Hillyard had was taste, a young family, and the instinct to just start. Today, her lifestyle brand Cella Jane commands an audience the size of Vogue’s, she’s nine collections strong with Splendid, and she’s built it all while raising three kids — refusing to sacrifice one for the other. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Becky shares what it really takes to build a brand, a career, and a life you love. Read the highlights below, then scan the QR code for the full conversation.

Q: WHEN DID YOU KNOW CELLA JANE WAS MORE THAN A HOBBY?
A: Two moments. Women started emailing me saying they bought something I recommended and felt amazing — asking me to help them find a dress for a wedding. That felt incredible. Then I looked at my affiliate numbers for one month and realized I could cover our mortgage. I thought, I can actually do this. I never set out to build a business. I started it because I genuinely loved it.

Q: WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST RISK YOU EVER TOOK WITH THE BRAND?
A: Designing my own collection. It’s easy to point at items on a website and say I love these. But to create something from scratch, put your name on it, and wait to see if people connect with it — that’s terrifying. I had an incredible partner in Splendid, and women loved the pieces. It was the biggest risk and the biggest accomplishment.
Q: HOW HAS INFLUENCER MARKETING CHANGED SINCE YOU STARTED?
A: When I started, brands didn’t know whether to take it seriously. Now it’s a legitimate line item in their marketing budgets — sometimes bigger than TV. Because what we’ve built is trust. People trust a real recommendation from someone they follow far more than a commercial. There’s no question about it now.
Q: YOU’RE A MOM OF THREE RUNNING A FULL BRAND. WHAT DOES YOUR DAY ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE?
A: I try to get up at five and not hit snooze — that first hour before the house wakes up is the most productive, most peaceful hour of my day. Then it’s all hands on deck with the kids and school drop-off. After that I work — planning content, connecting with my team, editing. After pickup, the day shifts completely and it’s all about them. I’ve learned to protect both halves fiercely, because both matter.

Q: WHAT WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO BUILD SOMETHING OF THEIR OWN BUT KEEPS WAITING?
A: Don’t wait. Don’t wait for the perfect camera, the right strategy, or enough followers. We find every excuse to stay comfortable. Just start, be consistent, and be authentically yourself. The right people will find you — and they’ll stay.
This conversation is just the beginning. Becky goes deeper on the risks that almost stopped her, the design process behind her latest Splendid collection, and what she’d tell her 2012 self today. Scan the QR code for the full, exclusive City Lifestyle interview on the Share the Lifestyle Podcast.
“Trust is the only metric that actually compounds.”
