Hi there! We are Dana and Greg Price, and we are so blessed to welcome you to the inaugural issue of Perimeter North City Lifestyle magazine! Perimeter North City Lifestyle magazine is a monthly hyperlocal community publication that covers the cities of Dunwoody and Sandy Springs. Originally from Georgia, we recently moved back to the metro Atlanta area to be closer to our gorgeous new granddaughter. We absolutely love Sandy Springs and Dunwoody, and we are excited to share with you all the wonderful people, places, and things that make these communities so amazing. In this inaugural issue, we share some of our favorite places in the communities and why we love them. We also learn more about Dunwoody through Discover Dunwoody and what the city has to offer its residents and visitors alike. If you're looking for good pizza, not just any pizza but something extraordinary, check out our story about Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza in Sandy Springs. Miguel Blatt tells us how Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza started and how it continues to grow. And a big thank you goes out to all the people and the businesses that participated in our inaugural issue making it possible. And we're just getting started. Follow us @PerimeterNorthCityLifestyle and send us pictures that we can add to our monthly City Scene Section. We love our new community, and we hope you will love this magazine as much as we do! Beating the Heat and Conquering the Cold Since 1993! At Air Control Heating and Air, we’ve built our reputation on treating customers with respect and providing quality service at a fair price.

Comfort you can feel. Service you can trust. Tired of not having your phone calls returned? Sick of feeling like just another number in a long queue of customers? Our customers used to feel this way about the service they received from other HVAC companies. That’s why we opened our doors in 1993—to give North Atlanta families and businesses a distinctly “uncorporate” HVAC experience. That means transparency, expertise, and on-demand service from a family-owned company that cares. We offer both Residential and Commercial Services and specialize in Installation, Repairs, Duct Work, Maintenance, and Air Duct Cleaning Services.

Rediscover the City Discover Dunwoody serves the community’s growth through destination marketing, promoting leisure tourism and local businesses Discovery is one of life’s most enjoyable feats. To dig deep, explore every nook and cranny, and fully immerse oneself in the moment emboldens the spirit and enhances appreciation for the specific surroundings. Atlanta is known as a city of neighborhoods, and each area surrounding it has its own unique flavor. Dunwoody maintains a small community vibe alongside its massive metropolitan growth. Discover Dunwoody, led by Ray Ezelle and Mark Galvin, promotes the city and serves as a resource for residents and local business owners. "We are a free service to the city of Dunwoody, to the residents, to the restaurants, to the hotels. You don't have to join us, you don’t have to be a member,” Mark Galvin, chief marketing and operating officer at Discover Dunwoody, explains. “We’re going to give an unabashed description of everything in Dunwoody." Hospitality is the thread connecting Discover Dunwoody to the community. Mark, in his current role since 2022, has maintained a passion for service for over 30 years. His career began at age 18 at the Atlanta Hilton, where he started as a front office clerk, and then moved to Hyatt Hotels, where he became executive housekeeper, and maintained an upward trajectory in the hotel industry for over three decades before transitioning into destination

marketing at Discover Dunwoody. Spending that much time around wide swaths of people taught Mark that “we all come from totally different backgrounds and it's very worthwhile asking questions to find out somebody's history and really getting to know them." Now he uses those skills, not only to serve the residents and visitors of Dunwoody, but also as a mentor to up-and-coming hospitality talent. Mark’s ability to ask the right questions and then listen deeply is the core of service. Getting to know a person is similar to getting to know a city. History, evolution, and unique characteristics shine a light and open the chance for authentic connection. To immerse oneself in any city, whether as a tourist or new resident, Mark recommends beginning with your personal interests and building out from there. Focus on finding two to three spots that cater to your tastes (i.e., ambient restaurants, stunning hikes, or local art galleries) and then expand the rest of your itinerary based on those initial experiences. "Every destination has

a solution,” he says. “Start off with what you like. Go do that. Build a little bit of experience around that." When it comes to exploring Dunwoody, Mark shines a light on Campus 244. This development is perfect for culinary experiences, most notably at CT Cantina y Taqueria and Stäge. CT Cantina y Taqueria has a gorgeous restaurant design that complements their authentic dishes. Stäge offers a chef-driven menu with a diverse range of cuisines. Ashford Lane and High Street are also top choices, replete with dining and shopping options, as well as outdoor events on their green spaces. “Sip and stroll” is allowed and even encouraged, making it easy to bounce between establishments while taking in the communal atmosphere. Dunwoody directly serves and supports two demographics: long-standing families in established neighborhoods, and young professionals who enjoy its strategic location and lovely apartments. Dunwoody’s central access is what Mark calls the “secret sauce;” the intersection at I-285 and GA-400 opens its residents to the entire Atlanta metro area. The city currently has a charming population of 50,000 residents while boasting scalable growth. "Even though we are in a metropolitan area, Dunwoody is still very much a small community-style city,” Mark says. 50 new local restaurants have opened in the last four years alone. Discover Dunwoody’s top mission is to drive business travelers to local hotels. They're funded by a portion of the city’s hotel tax, which empowers the organization to also function as a free resource. Representation is available to any local Dunwoody restaurant, retail, entertainment venue, or park without any required membership fees. Driving leisure tourism is another focus, wherein they highlight the city’s weekend offerings, encouraging other local Georgians to explore all that Dunwoody has to offer.

Now that we’re on the precipice of autumn, the city is already looking forward to holiday events. All are welcome to celebrate Diwali on November 7th at the Dunwoody Nature Center. Light Up Dunwoody, a local favorite, takes place on November 15th at the Donaldson-Bannister Farm. This no-cost holiday festival culminates in the lighting of the Christmas Tree and Menorah, and Santa will be present for photos atop his sleigh as well! The entirety of December is dedicated to “Holiday HQ.” Lantern parades, arts and crafts, and community merriment will abound. You can keep up with all the city’s events and opportunities to connect at discoverdunwoody.com.

According to the dictionary, extraordinary means going beyond what is usual, ordinary, regular, or established. As for Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza, the product and the restaurant lives up to its name. With a location at 6405 Blue Stone Road, Suite 240 in Sandy Springs, many residents and visitors are already familiar with the pizzas, salads and the service at Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza. To find out more about the restaurant and how it all started, we went to Miguel Blatt of Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza to learn more. Miguel explains that it all began with the Founder and Master Pizza Chef Renato Viola, who came to the U.S. from Southern

Italy after he was awarded a prestigious O-1 Visa, granted to individuals who have demonstrated an extraordinary ability in their chosen profession. “His vision was simple: create extraordinary pizzas using the highest-quality ingredients, handcrafted recipes and an unforgettable dining experience,” Miguel notes. Chef Renato Viola opened his first location in Miami Beach in 2014. Today, Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza has locations in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas. The Sandy Springs location opened in March 2025 and is one of three locations currently in Georgia. From the beginning, Miguel says that Sandy Springs

immediately felt like home, describing the city as a vibrant community with incredible residents, strong local businesses, and a welcoming atmosphere. “Being located in the heart of the city has allowed us to become part of the neighborhood rather than just another restaurant,” Miguel says. “We’ve truly enjoyed being a part of the Sandy Springs community. The support we’ve received from guests, neighboring businesses, and the city has exceeded our expectations, and we’re grateful to call Sandy Springs home.” And just what makes the restaurant and the pizza extraordinary? The modern design of the restaurants creates an

inviting and comfortable atmosphere perfect for families, friends, business lunches and date nights. And as for the food, it’s their commitment to quality. Miguel says they never cut corners. “We use fresh, premium ingredients. Everything is prepared with care. Nothing is frozen, and every pizza is handcrafted with attention to detail,” he says. Miguel also adds that their success goes beyond the food. “It’s our commitment to never compromise on quality, never disappoint our guests, and treat hospitality as an art,” he adds. “Every guest who walks through our doors deserves an exceptional experience, and that’s a standard we never take lightly.”

“We use fresh, premium ingredients. Everything is prepared with care. Nothing is frozen, and every pizza is handcrafted with attention to detail.”

The combination of genuine hospitality with attentive service and handcrafted food made with premium ingredients creates an experience that guests remember and want to come back to. Menu items include Traditional and Specialty Pizzas such as Cheese, Pepperoni, Meat Lovers, Bella Margherita, Matteo, and more. Extraordinary Pizzas include selections such as Star Luca, Star Carlos, Beckham, and more. Salads, Calzoni, and Desserts are offered as well, in addition to gluten-free and vegan options. Miguel points out that among their offerings is fresh, handmade burrata that he describes as "incredible." Transported overnight, Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza is the only restaurant in Georgia that receives this specific burrata directly from the producer, Capri Organic. “It’s simple, fresh, and showcases exactly what Mister O1 is all about – quality ingredients prepared the right way,” Miguel says. In addition to pizza, Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza offers the Mister O1 Pizza School, where participants get a

behind-the-scenes look at what makes their pizza unique. Classes cover everything from the dough, techniques, ingredients, and the craftsmanship that goes into creating every pizza. Miguel says it’s a fun, interactive experience for families, date nights, corporate team-building events, pizza lovers, or for anyone who is looking to learn something new while enjoying great food. Miguel highlights that it’s the vision, mentorship, dedication and unwavering support of Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza’s Founder, Chef Renato Viola and his team, who has made it possible to maintain the quality and culture that defines the restaurant while allowing the restaurant to grow. He also thanks his business partners, Dan Scala and Brandon Weitz, whose hard work, commitment, and shared vision have been instrumental in the success of the restaurant. He says that together, they're excited to continue growing the Mister O1 family while serving our communities with the same passion and hospitality that started it all.

Know that beauty comes from within you

Evolve Your Style into Real Beauty 22

I NSP IR E D BY | WEL L NESS

Purifying cleanser, True You™ Soulva Mist, Skin Lover True You™ Soulva Mist SHOPWITHVANDA.COM

As a couturier I was taught to wrap, to pin, to style the vision of a garment long before it walked. You do not force cloth. You listen for where it wants to fall. Twenty years later I am doing the same work, only the cloth is a woman, and the runway is her life. A gown is not built on the mannequin. It is built on the woman standing in front of me, and the first thing I do is take off everything that is not hers. The borrowed shape. The season's silhouette. Whatever she was told flatters her. Skin is the same cloth. Beauty is not applied, it is draped, and nothing drapes well over interference. The industry keeps adding. I keep removing. My mother Albe, an awarded aesthetician and Gold Spa owner in South Africa and Europe, raised her daughters on one rule: know who you are, and know that beauty comes from within you. So I clear first. The hours at the screen, the rooms that took something from you, the moods of other people you carried home in your shoulders. That is the pinning. True You™ SOULva Mist is how I do it now, the first formula I know of to hold spirituality and physics in one bottle, clearing your field while it hydrates your face. No smoke. No flame. No residue. Then SOULt™ releases what the water can reach, and the cleanser tends the visible. The Trinity of Returning™ is simply my atelier order of operations. I am not fixing anyone. I never was. I am wrapping a woman back around herself until the line is hers again.

Style is not the garment, it is the way a woman occupies it. Evolve your style and real beauty stops being something you buy. It becomes something you stop covering. 'That is the worQ. Do it, and your CHIQ walks in ahead of you.

The Amber Hour BOURBON, THREE WAYS Bourbon carries a certain mystique: dim lighting, hushed tones, a vocabulary all its own. Cut through it and here's what you'll actually find: a spirit that does more with three ingredients than most bottles manage with ten. Shaken with lemon and honey, it goes bright. Stirred with bitters over one good cube, it turns deep and unhurried. Add vermouth and a proper cherry, and you've got the drink that's been quietly holding up hotel bars for a century. One good bottle, a few minutes, a comfortable chair. Everything else is just details.

ONE BOTTLE, THREE DRINKS The Thyme-Honey Smash The easiest pour if you're new to bourbon INGREDIENTS: • 2 oz bourbon • ¾ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice • ½ oz honey syrup (equal parts honey and warm water) • 3–4 fresh thyme sprigs, plus one to garnish • Large ice sphere or cube To make: Press the thyme gently in the bottom of a shaker (enough to wake up the oils, not enough to shred it). Add bourbon, lemon, honey syrup, and ice. Shake hard, strain over a large ice sphere, and finish with a thyme sprig and a strip of lemon peel. Honey syrup keeps for two weeks in the fridge and improves nearly every whiskey drink it touches.

The Old Fashioned Four ingredients. That's the drink. INGREDIENTS: • 2 oz bourbon • ¼ oz demerara or simple syrup • 2–3 dashes aromatic bitters • Large ice cube • Orange peel, to garnish To make: Stir bourbon, syrup, and bitters with ice for a full 30 seconds (longer than feels reasonable — the dilution is part of the recipe). Strain over one large cube. Pinch the orange peel skin-side down over the drink so the oils mist across the surface, run it around the rim, and drop it in. Demerara syrup, two parts raw sugar to one part water, brings a toffee depth that plain sugar can't reach. Classic: orange peel only. Dressed up: add a brandied cherry alongside the peel for a little sweetness and color.

The Manhattan The drink that built a century of hotel bars. INGREDIENTS: • 2 oz bourbon • 1 oz sweet vermouth • 2 dashes aromatic bitters • Cocktail cherry, to garnish To make: Stir everything with plenty of ice until the mixing glass frosts over, then strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a real cocktail cherry (dark, rich, worth every penny of the jar). Park the coupe in the freezer while you stir. A warm glass undoes thirty seconds of careful work in about a minute.

Speak Bourbon Like You Mean It THE WHISKEY AISLE READS LIKE A SECRET HANDSHAKE. HERE'S THE QUICK TRANSLATION. • Wheated: softer, sweeter, leans toward baked goods. • High-Rye: more pepper, more spice, more backbone. • Single Barrel: one barrel, one personality, quirks included. • Bottled-in-Bond: one distillery, four years minimum, 100 proof. • Finished: aged a second time in port, sherry, or rum casks.

C ULIN A RY C R E AT ION S | F OOD + BE VE RAGE

¾ C plain Greek yogurt of choice ¼ C canned pumpkin puree ¼ tsp cinnamon ¼ tsp pure vanilla extract 1 ½ tsp honey

granola directions:

1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Combine canned pumpkin, water, oil, vanilla extract and ¼ C maple syrup and mix until well combined. 3. Add rolled oats and salt to wet ingredients and mix until oats are evenly coated. 4. Line a large baking sheet (9 x 13 inches works well) with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking oil spray. Transfer oats to baking sheet and spread in a thin, even layer. 5. Bake in oven for 1 hour, mixing at 30 minutes and 45 minutes. 6. Remove oats from oven briefly. Add pumpkin seeds, chopped walnuts, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice and remaining ¼ C pure maple syrup. Mix with a spatula and return to oven to bake for another 30 minutes, mixing halfway through. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before using a spatula to transfer to container. Do not wait too long to transfer granola as it can stick to the parchment paper as it cools.

yogurt

directions: 1. Combine all yogurt ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Top with a handful of the maple pumpkin granola, serve immediately and enjoy! Note: This granola can be stored in an airtight container and stored in a cool, dry place for up to 1 week. While this granola is made with gluten free ingredients, I recommend using certified gluten free ingredients if needed.

Yogurt can be made with a suitable dairy-free alternative if you need this recipe to be dairyfree and the honey can be swapped for pure maple syrup to make the dairy-free yogurt recipe suitable for a vegan diet. The granola and the yogurt can each be enjoyed on their own, but they complement each other so nicely! This Maple Pumpkin Granola Parfait is a perfect way to celebrate autumn’s most famous flavors in a nutritious way! Pumpkin, maple syrup and warm spices, such as cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice, give cozy vibes that are traditionally found in baked goods this time of year. However, while pumpkin bread, muffins, cookies and other fall flavored baked goods are certainly delicious and should be enjoyed, this Maple Pumpkin Granola Parfait provides the satisfaction of those fall flavors in a lighter way, while providing ample protein and fiber. It is the perfect, slightly sweet and balanced way to start the day – or to enjoy anytime! Alyssa Lavy, MS, RD, CDN, CPT is a registered dietitian, personal trainer and mom of 2. THE NEW RULES

Modern Home Style

PHOTOGRAPHY BY JANIE JONES ARTICLE BY KALI KASPRZYK HOME OF RYAN AND HILLARY BADER

For years, the rule was simple. Pick a palette, pick an aesthetic, and let it carry through every room. The all-white kitchen led to the all-white living room led to the all-white everything. That era is over. The most interesting homes right now are doing something braver. They’re letting each room hold its own mood. What ties them together isn’t a single look. It’s the materials they keep coming back to: warm brass, sculptural lighting, marble, stained wood, and quiet neutrals holding it all together. We toured one home that gets it exactly right, and pulled out ideas worth borrowing.

1. RESORT ENERGY Outdoor rooms designed with the rigor of interiors. This isn’t a backyard. It’s a destination. From the lined-up lounge chairs to the scalloped umbrellas to the green-striped pillows repeating across the deck. The lesson here is to stop treating outdoor furniture as an afterthought. Pick a palette and commit.

3. MOODY MODERN Dark dining rooms are back, and better than ever. Bold taupe walls, an oval black table, sleek chairs, and an oversized round mirror standing in for art. The bright, airy dining room had its decade. Now bring on the supper club.

2. SCULPTUR AL CALM One bold gesture in a quiet room. Everything in this great room is whispering, from the cream walls to the linen sectional to the chandelier’s delicate brass rings. And then a tree, reaching toward the coffered ceiling like it grew there on purpose. When the rest of the room is quiet, the boldest thing you can put in it is something alive.

4. WAR M MODER N The all-white kitchen meets warm wood. Cream cabinetry stays, because the light it gives you is hard to beat. But the island gets a stained wood treatment that grounds the whole space. Brass pendants and hardware add glow. Velvet stools soften the lines. This is the kitchen the next decade is building toward.

6. BUILT FOR PLAY Rooms that don’t apologize for being fun. A game table under a crystal chandelier. A leather club chair next to a telescope. A theater tucked in around the corner. The best entertaining spaces are the ones built for actual use, not just for looking at.

5. THE JEWEL BOX Small spaces, big swing. Antiqued mercury glass, a brass faucet, fluted glass cabinets, golden pulls on crisp white shakers. The idea is to treat your tucked-away corners (bars, powder rooms, butler’s pantries) as the place to take your most theatrical swing. The smaller the room, the bolder you can be.

7. COLOR COCOON Saturated color in rooms meant for rest. Deep sage-spruce walls, ivory bedding, an antiqued mirror catching the shutter light. Proof that calm doesn’t have to mean beige. Color, used right, is the most restful thing you can put in a room. Find your shade and let it hold you.

Different rooms, different moods, one home. The new rule, it turns out, is that there doesn’t have to be one.
