Hello friends, THIS MONTH, WE CELEBRATE FREEDOM, AND THIS YEAR, WE CAN REVEL IN IT MORE THAN EVER. Free from (mostly) masking and distancing and worry. We salute all those who made this recent freedom possible and remember those lost in its pursuit. This month, my family is gathering for a reunion at Lake Michigan, vaccinated and ready, more than ever for bear hugs. I don’t want to say we compete to see who gives the longest, strongest hugs, but if you’re the first to release, well, it’s your loss. My brother Bob is the reigning king of the embrace. This summer there will be early morning paddles on the glassy bay, mid-afternoon sailing when the wind picks up and singing. Lots of singing. My parents were both

He was a generous educator and traveler, always searching for a deeper spiritual meaning and stopping along his path to turn his face to the sun. This is one of the songs we’ll sing together.
