Be Sure to Invest in YOU!
The theme of our April issue is INVESTMENT - but in actuality isn’t everything a bit of an investment?

Investment is best understood not as a single decision, but in reality as a journey shaped by discipline, clarity, and purpose - this requires a sacrifice of some present asset. In truth, that asset perhaps is not a thing or a price-tag, but the pertinence of what really makes up WHO we are with the value of time, treasure, talent, heart and soul. After all, everyone counts on you; your family, your pets, your business connections, your community - YOU are the most beneficial to others when you take the time to create your best self, and truly work on being that BEST YOU!
Digging back into the basics I’ll reference and review once again Stephen Covey’s well-known “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”.
1) Be Proactive - focus on things that CAN be influenced.
2) Begin with the end in mind - determine clear measures for success.
3) First things First - prioritize and follow a plan of action.
4) Think Win-Win - celebrate each and every WIN no matter how small.
5) Seek first to understand, then be understood - Listen, enough said.
6) Synergies - Leverage diverse perspectives, innovate with others.
7) Sharpen the saw - make time for renewal and reflection.
Financial assets, real estate and business interests all require thoughtful stewardship, yet the most enduring returns often come from investing in relationships, health, education and community. True wealth is built by balancing personal priorities with strategic encouragement and a well-constructed plan. Hopefully this has been a little nudge to sit still and inhale while you ponder your investment in YOU - Invest in You and you will share more as you invest in others
1 Timothy 6:18-19 - Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lap up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age

THE CHILDREN’S CANCER FUND GALA COMBINES FASHION SHOW WITH FUNDRAISER.

ARTICLE BY KELSEY KOSH

“THE EVENT EXPECTS TO RAISE MORE THAN $3 MILLION FOR CANCER RESEARCH EACH YEAR.”
The annual Children’s Cancer Fund Gala is so much more than its finale fashion show, in which children battling cancer model their favorite looks from Dillard’s alongside those whom they look up to. The planning process begins much earlier and works to perfect details that not only draw A-list celebrities and Park Cities elite, but that provide a personalized and life-changing experience for each of the models. “You’ll find that the people in the ballroom at one moment are laughing. At another moment, they’re crying, and then we’re all laughing again,” says Children’s Cancer Fund CEO Jennifer Arthur.
Patients from Children’s Health begin applying to be models months in advance, and the gala’s board members select 18 to 20 to participate in the event. “Our board … chooses a variety of children that reflect and represent kids fighting cancer— real life stories, a variety of ages, a variety of cancers, a variety of ethnicities,” Arthur says, noting the importance of showing that cancer crosses every demographic and stage of cancer diagnosis and treatment. “It’s imperative that we share those stories, because we want our community to know what these families are going through,” Arthur says.

“EVERY TIME I COME BACK, I’M REMINDED OF THE STRENGTH AND COURAGE THESE CHILDREN SHOW—NOT JUST ON THE RUNWAY, BUT IN THEIR DAILY FIGHT.
BEING PART OF THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE,”
TROY AIKMAN
Honorary event chairs Dak Prescott and Troy Aikman, both Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks, then surprise each of the models at their homes or hospitals, alongside the gala chairs for the year. The 2026 chairs gala chairs are moms and business women Bina Palnitkar and Kasey Lempkin.
“Every time I come back, I’m reminded of the strength and courage these children show—not just on the runway, but in their daily fight. Being part of this is one of the most meaningful experiences of my life,” says Aikman.
Prescott expressed a similar sentiment. “The joy these kids bring, knowing everything they’re going through and the resilience it takes just to be here, is what brings me back year after year. Being part of a night that gives them spirit, love, hope and support, while recognizing the obstacles they face every day, means the world to me,” he said.
A few months before the event, models are revealed during a special event at Northpark Center. The Dallas Cowboys provide each model with a customized football with their name on it, Aikman and Prescott announce the models, and Northpark
co-owner Nancy Nasher gifts each child a shopping spree. “To be able to give the models an experience like this, where the community comes together say ‘We are in your corner. We’re cheering for you. We honor you. We want to support you,’ is really special,” Arthur says.
Models then have a fitting sponsored by Dillard’s, in which they can select the outfit they will wear down the runway. Each model also shares someone they look up to or want to be when they grow up, who will be invited to walk the runway with them—everyone from a Dallas police officer to Elsa, the princess from the movie frozen.
The event has transformed from a small luncheon that raised a few thousand dollars, to a dinner in 2016 that raised millions. Now, the event expects to raise more than $3 million each year. “Those funds go directly to research at Children’s Health and UT Southwestern and child life programming,” Arthur says. This year’s event will be held April 16–17 at the Hilton Anatole. “We fund research because we want to find a cure for cancer, but in the meantime, we want to be able to serve these patients in a meaningful way,” Arthur says.

The McCauley Foundation Invitational champions strategic philanthropy in melanoma research.
ARTICLE BY LAUREN STONE
PHOTOGRAPHY BY THE UNLISTED CO.
When Sean McCauley set out to launch The McCauley Foundation Invitational, he approached it the same way he approaches his business: with long-term vision and disciplined execution. “I wanted to make sure quality was felt from start to finish, hopefully turning this into an annual event that raises more money each year,” he said. The result? All 20 team spots filled within a week, generating $449,000

for melanoma research and patient-focused initiatives in the foundation’s inaugural year.
Headquartered in Dallas, McCauley Bond Agency helps contractors, developers, and commercial clients maximize their surety bond programs. With additional offices in California, North Carolina, and Idaho, the firm is built on strategic guidance and customized support.
“We built the foundation in July of 2025 and put the event on December 8th,” McCauley says. “I’m excited to see what we could do having a whole year to plan for it.” From the beginning, the goal was to create something designed not just for a single day of success, but for measurable growth year after year.
The foundation’s mission itself is deeply personal. Melanoma has touched multiple generations of McCauley’s family—his mother and grandfather both battled the disease and survived, and his wife Courtney’s grandfather passed away from melanoma in 2024. Close friend and Trinity Forest assistant pro Wes Worster, who helped bring the tournament to life, also lost his father to the disease. “I think all of us wanted to figure out a way to give back and also celebrate the ones we have lost to melanoma,” McCauley says.
Hosting the Pro-Am at Trinity Forest Golf Club felt like a natural fit. A member of the club, McCauley leaned on strong relationships within the golf community, drawing 20 PGA and Korn Ferry Tour professionals to participate. “The biggest standout moment to me was being able to get so many golf pros to take time out of their busy schedule to play in the event and care so much,” he says.
Beyond the leaderboard, the Invitational emphasized awareness and impact. Dermatologist Dr. Mary Hurley provided on-site skin checks, reinforcing the importance of early detection. Proceeds were directed to AIM at Melanoma Foundation, supporting targeted screening initiatives across Texas and the Melanoma Tissue Bank Consortium—the first and only collaborative fresh frozen primary melanoma tissue bank.
For McCauley, the Invitational reflects the same philosophy that drives his business. “My brand and my values mean more to me than anything,” he says. “I wanted to figure out a way to keep building our brand in a positive way and create something special that hopefully one of my kids can take over some day.”
Looking ahead, the vision is clear. “I think if we can raise at least 25% more yearly, we’ll be moving in the right direction,” McCauley says. With the Dallas community firmly behind it and a strategic approach intact, the Invitational is poised to become more than a tournament—it’s a long-term investment in research, prevention, and ultimately, a cure.

An exclusive Q&A with City Lifestyle

ARTICLE BY ANGELA BROOCKERD

From championship trophies to global humanitarian impact, Tim Tebow’s journey has defied every standard playbook. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Tebow pulls back the curtain on the moments that truly defined him, from a humbling middle school church retreat to the life-altering shift of fatherhood. This isn’t just a look back at a career; it’s an invitation into the heart of a man driven by purpose. Read the highlights below, then join us for the full, unfiltered experience by scanning the QR code at the end.

Q: WE ALL KNOW YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD, BUT TELL US ABOUT THE CURL CONTEST.
A: I was competing for my future high school team (my brother’s team), and I pushed myself way past what was smart. I ended up collapsing and needing medical attention. But what stayed with me wasn’t the pain, it was the lesson. Would I be willing to do something that others aren’t? For much of my life, I strived to bring my best for a game, but I hope that I can say at the end of my life I was willing to do that for things that actually matter.
Q: YOU’VE ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN SPORTS. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT NOW?
A: Becoming a dad. Nothing compares. From the moment I knew my wife was pregnant, I felt a new depth of love for our child, but when you bring your baby home, the responsibility hits you like nothing else. Suddenly, everything you see, every decision you make, you’re asking, “Is this corner too sharp? What happens if she reaches that drawer?” It changes how you see the world and how you see other people.
Q: YOU’VE SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT DISAPPOINTMENT, ESPECIALLY AROUND FOOTBALL. HOW DID THAT SEASON OF LIFE SHAPE YOU?
A: I talked a lot about that very thing in my book Shaken . We all go through moments where our faith in our abilities and purpose feels rattled, but I believe it’s often in those storms when God can show us who we could become.
Q: YOU TALK A LOT ABOUT COMPARISON CULTURE. WHY DO YOU BELIEVE COMPARISON HAS BECOME SUCH A TRAP TODAY?
A: Because we’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel. Social media shows people’s “best day,” often filtered and staged, and then we measure our reality against that. There’s a reason filters are so popular—it’s not real. We end up scrolling through images that don’t tell the full story, and without realizing it, comparison starts to steal our joy and our gratitude.
“We’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel... comparison starts to steal our joy.”
Q: YOUR FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON THE “MOST VULNERABLE.” WHERE DID THAT CALLING BEGIN?
A: When I was 15, I met a boy in the Philippines who was treated as a throwaway because he was born with physical differences. That moment changed me. I realized God was calling me to pursue a different kind of MVP, not “Most Valuable Player,” but “Most Vulnerable People.”
Q: FINALLY, WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
A: I have some weird coffee habits, which include protein powder, collagen, and cream all mixed together. I love golf dates with my wife. And every night, I bring snacks to bed to share with our dogs. It brings me more joy than it probably should.
This conversation barely scratches the surface. Tim goes deeper into the moments that rattled him, the joys of fatherhood, and one story he has never shared publicly until now. Scan the QR code for the full, exclusive City Lifestyle interview on Share the Lifestyle Podcast.

O'KEEFE

Travel is no longer just a luxury, it’s an investment that has the power to enrich our lives in ways that traditional financial investments cannot. It broadens our horizons, enhances personal and professional growth, and allows you to recharge your mind and body.
Crystal-clear waters and perfectly white sandy beaches await to recharge the spirits of all weary travelers.
Cancún is known around the world as one of Mexico’s finest tourist destinations. Steeped in the rich history of the Mexican Caribbean, Cancún offers visitors the best that the Yucatán Peninsula has to offer. Whether you are coming for the all-inclusive resort experience or are looking to enjoy the seemingly never-ending gorgeous beaches, Cancún has it all. Unbelievably fresh and delicious seasonal cuisine, great weather, a rich cultural history, exquisitely clear turquoise blue Caribbean waters, and vibrant coral reefs are all waiting for you to explore when you arrive.
Nature lovers, environmentalists, thrill seekers, and luxury destination travel enthusiasts all have a place to call home in Cancún. Boulevard Kukulkan, more commonly known as the Hotel Zone, is home to Cancún’s most luxurious all-inclusive hotels and boasts some of the city’s finest restaurants, nightclubs, and shopping centers. This fifteen-mile-long sand bar separates the Caribbean Sea from the Laguna Inchoate. The brackish waters of

the lagoon’s nature reserve and Mangrove ecosystem offer an exciting, ecologically friendly look into the rich natural history of Cancún. On the other side of the boulevard, crystal-clear waters and perfectly white sandy beaches await to recharge the spirits of all weary travelers.
The JW Marriott Resort and Spa is the place to stay while in Cancún. You'll be met by the most gracious of staff and a high level of service is standard across the property. This impeccably designed resort features multiple pools, an incredible spa, countless delicious restaurants, and a delightful lobby bar featuring over 150 signature margaritas.
Caring for the mind and body should be an essential part of everyone’s travel. A little physical exercise is a necessary element of any vacation for me. Puerto Maya Cancún combines a look into the historical Mayan culture of the Yucatán followed by an amazing speed boat tour of both the lagoon and the sea. And, just when you think it can’t get any better, it’s time to jump in and swim around. Snorkeling on the vibrant coral reefs and visiting MUSA, the Cancun Underwater Museum of Art, absolutely recharges the mind, body, and soul. It is an incredible workout!
If you care to go a little further out of the city, Cenotes Zapote Eco-Tour awaits. Cenotes are natural sinkholes that expose cool, refreshing, groundwater
that is both invigorating and spiritually refreshing at the same time. There are over 6000 cenotes on the Yucatán, each one is unique and otherworldly. Floating or frolicking in the cool waters inside the earth is the ultimate spa experience. There are zip lines or diving platforms at most cenotes and they are well worth experiencing.
While it is nice to explore the “Hotel Zone”, you don't have to leave the hotel to experience fine international dining at its best!
Sacbé Beach Shack, located in the adjoining Marriott property was beyond belief. Situated directly on the sandy beaches beneath the hotel, the "beach shack" is a whimsically designed bar and dining room offering a perfect oceanside culinary experience. The freshest local ingredients were artfully combined to create a scrumptious offering that highlights regional Mexican cuisines. The mezcal lab experience with famed Master Mezcalier, Chef Benjamín Nava Vargas was an unexpected treat and opened a door to a delicious understanding and appreciation of small-batch mezcals.
Other JW Marriott Resort and Spa culinary treasures include Hana Polynesian Grill’s themed dining room. Perfectly crafty cocktails paired wonderfully with the authentic Polynesian Islands menu. The evening’s festivities were highlighted by a completely themed costumed troupe of singers and dancers performing time-honored Polynesian fire dances. While visiting, be sure to explore Kasai Izakaya, Club 91, and Bravo, a very fresh take on modern Spanish cuisine.
And, when it feels like it’s time to leave the hotel again, check out Chambao Cancún. Just think of it as an interactive curated dinner theatre experience with pop-up music, dance, fashion, and acrobatic activations staged throughout the evening.
Cancún should be at the top of everyone’s travel list. Trust me, you can thank me later.

The capital city of Texas is best known for having a personality of its own, one bursting with foodie and fashion finds, outdoor activities and “Austintatious” art creations, a booming sphere of pro sports experiences (we see you Formula 1 and Austin FC), and seven days a week of live music to boot. Did we mention it’s sunny nearly 300 days a year? It’s time to GET AWAY!
It’s no secret that people are flocking to Austin. What’s not to love about the warm weather, vast culinary scene and the ability to recreationally paddle board through the city limits? Add to that the attractive walkability it offers, letting you fuel your explorative side amid the hustle and bustle of the downtown scene without ever needing a ride.
Sunny most days of the year, Austin is recognized for a myriad of outdoor experiences which you can experience both in downtown Austin with scenic views of the skyline, as well as the surrounding area, including local treasure, Lady Bird Lake. Kayak, hike, bike and swim your way around the great Austin outdoors and enjoy one of the city’s most fantastic offerings that inspires people to get outside and play together.
When it comes to luxury accommodations, one of the most stunning hotels in Austin is the Commodore Perry Estate. This striking and historic property, once a 10,800-square-foot private mansion known to host Jazz era social extravaganzas, has been transformed into a modern and European-influenced spectacular resort now open to the public. Enjoy the architectural details, white-glove service, in-room Austin purveyor displays, and sophisticated, Southern-style meals.
Speaking of meals, Austin is renowned for pleasing palates, with an exceptional restaurant scene, including barbecue and tacos as its true soul foods. Pair your tacos with queso and the must-have margaritas for an authentic Tex-Mex meal, or indulge in Austin’s quintessential barbecue. It all started with Franklin Barbecue, helmed by Aaron Franklin who was the first pitmaster to win a James Beard award for Best Chef, which was inducted into the
American Royal Hall of Fame and was credited for ushering in a new era of food into the city. Austin’s slow-cooked, fall-off-the-bone brisket is a mouth-watering experience not to miss.
Beyond barbecue and Tex-Mex is an entire mix of palate pleasers, from upscale Mediterranean and Asian to James Beard award-winning eateries. Geraldine’s inside Hotel Van Zandt is one of Austin’s iconic Rainey Street destinations. Equal parts restaurant, bar, rooftop and live music venue, Geraldine’s overlooks beautiful Lady Bird Lake and offers 4th floor cabanas, a nightly concert lineup and a chef’s contemporary menu.
Perhaps a hidden gem is Austin’s mark on the forefront of the booming food truck scene, a foundation for famed, award-winning chefs getting started before getting the funding to open their own brick and mortars. Whether you indulge in one in a gas station parking lot or parked next to a music venue, you’ll find them all over town, serving up a variety of dishes to be devoured.
But first you should start your day with a cup of joe from Jo’s Coffee. Known for its iconic “i love you so much” mural-clad exterior on South Congress Avenue, patrons come for the hot coffee, good food, cold beer and people-watching. The creative menu includes everything from its house blend to its Cowboy Cookie Cold Brew you can pair with a hash brown or local-favorite “migas” taco.
As for Austin’s retail and local maker scene, the possibilities are endless and elevated. 2ND Street District boasts a mix of boutiques and shops to get your fashion fix and new home decor. For the gentlemen, embrace the full district experience, shopping League of Rebels , a bespoke experience with tailor made lifestyle wear, or Bonobos , the pioneers of custom fit chinos. Then enjoy a fresh shave from Austin’s premier Finley’s Barber Shop
For the women, shop local and find the perfect gift for yourself or someone you love from Luxe Apothetique, then drape yourself in artisan jewelry from Eliza Page before falling for the modern designs from Blu Dot.

Follow some retail therapy, head over to Upstairs Circus , a unique concept where DIY meets the bar; pick your project, enjoy a libation, create a masterpiece and be merry.
Or shop The Domain district in North Austin, a newer shopping center offering upscale hotels and fantastic restaurants. Shop luxury brands such as Saint Laurent Paris and Gucci and reward yourself with sweet and savory bites from a multitude of eateries.
Nearby is the home of the new Austin FC Major League Soccer team, so you can take in a professional soccer match as part of your metropolitan experience, cheering on the club team partially owned by Matthew McConaughy. Even if you’re not a soccer fan, the energy is incredible, and the stadium is a stunner.
Other Austin districts worth checking out include well-known South Congress Avenue . You can stroll boutiques and additional eateries and check out the uniquely converted bungalows that now offer day and nightlife entertainment destinations.
While East Austin is a larger neighborhood, the depth of culture here is noteworthy. Six Square is Austin’s premier Black Cultural District near the beautiful grounds of the Texas State Cemetery.

And, as one would expect, you’ll find a plethora of great restaurants such as local favorites la Barbecue and Bird Bird Biscuit that was just listed as one of Yelp’s Top 5 restaurants to eat at in America.
Now let’s talk about live music. Whatever your scene is, you’ll find it here and, well, everywhere. From your airport arrival, to the open air around you, and then hopping from neighborhood to neighborhood, Austin is filled with live music. You’ll find musicians performing at world-famous festivals, intimate clubs, coffee houses, and even the corner taqueria. With hundreds of live music venues, you have plenty of options available to soak up the sounds.
ACL Live at The Moody Theater is home to the beloved Austin City Limits television show and hosts about 100 concerts year round. Tour the venue, select your show and find everything from country to rock, hip-hop, rap, jazz and blues.
With its true passion for its unparalleled live music scene, its championing of local creators and small business owners, and its celebration of its enriching arts and culture offerings, Austin avows a personality all its own and should be next on your playlist. We love it so much!
