Florida is defined by light, warmth, and yearround sunshine. It’s part of what makes this place feel like home. Over time, however, sun exposure can quietly change the skin, revealing uneven tone, visible pigmentation, and fine lines.
While daily skincare plays an important role in protection, addressing existing sun damage often requires a more advanced approach. At NAWI, precision laser treatments are used to improve tone and texture, stimulate collagen, and restore skin health at a deeper level. The result is skin that looks refreshed, balanced, and naturally youthful, without altering what makes you look like you. Because living in the Sunshine State should enhance your glow, not accelerate aging.

Enjoy exceptional dining across our resort restaurants. Open to locals and non-overnight guests, with great cuisine, beautiful views, and the relaxed Marco Island vibe.

Home means something special here in Southwest Florida. It’s more than an address or a set of coordinates on the Gulf—it’s a feeling shaped by sunshine, salt air, and a sense of belonging that’s hard to put into words but easy to recognize.

For many of us, home begins with light. Morning sun filtering through palm fronds, casting soft shadows across tile floors. Sliding doors open to let in a breeze that carries the scent of the sea. Whether it’s a coastal condo, a family home tucked into a quiet neighborhood, or a seasonal retreat that draws us back year after year, our homes reflect the rhythms of this place—easy, open, and connected to nature.
But home is also about people. It’s the gathering place for Sunday dinners that stretch into evening, for holiday celebrations where flip-flops replace formal shoes, and for impromptu visits from friends who stop by “just for a minute” and stay for hours. In Southwest Florida, hospitality isn’t a trend—it’s a way of life. Doors are opened, chairs are pulled up, and everyone is welcome at the table.
In this issue, we explore the many meanings of home through the lens of real estate, design and home organization, in-home health services, and community. You’ll find stories that celebrate thoughtful spaces created for living well, local experts who understand how to blend beauty with function, as well as well-being and nonprofit experts looking to provide services in the comfort of one's home and help them further make our Paradise Coast feel like home.
Home also extends beyond our walls. It’s found in neighborhood gatherings, local businesses that know your name, and community traditions that connect generations. It’s the pride we feel in our towns and the comfort of knowing we’re part of something larger than ourselves.
As you turn these pages, we hope you’re inspired to look at your own home— wherever and whatever it may be—with fresh eyes. To appreciate the moments that happen there, the memories being made, and the simple joys of everyday life.
Because in Southwest Florida, home isn’t just where you live. It’s how you live.

JULIALBA DIAZ Nurse ALWAYS,

For Julialba, empathy isn’t just a part of nursing; it’s the heart of it.
GROWING UP IN HONDURAS, Julialba spent much of her childhood surrounded by doctors and nurses as a patient herself. She learned early what true compassion looks like by watching her mother care for others and feeling the impact of every kind word shared. Today, as a nurse at NCH, she brings that same empathy to every patient she meets.
“Going above and beyond for me as a nurse means going past the clinical task,” she said.
“Sometimes it’s holding a hand or explaining something in a way that eases fear.”
For Julialba, it’s those small, human moments that have the most impact.

PHOTOGRAPHY BY MICHELLE REED
For Kara Heaslip, the Naples greater area has never been a trend, it has always been home.
A Naples resident since 1980, Kara represents a rare perspective in today’s real estate landscape: a true hometown expert whose understanding of Collier County has been shaped by decades of lived experience, not just market cycles. Raised in East and South Naples, she attended elementary, middle, and high school locally, growing up alongside some of the very neighborhoods she now represents.
Long before she became one of the area’s most respected real estate professionals, Kara served as a crossing guard at Avalon Elementary School on Thomasson Drive in East Naples - an early reflection of the deep, everyday connection she has always had to her community. That sense of responsibility and care for Naples has remained a constant throughout her life and career.
“I’ve watched Naples evolve from a quiet coastal town into an internationally recognized destination,” Kara says. “Understanding where it’s been is essential to understanding where it’s going and how to represent it properly.”
Few professionals can speak to Naples’ evolution with the depth and authenticity Kara brings. From South Naples to North Naples, she has witnessed, and actively participated in, the transformation of communities throughout Collier County.
Nowhere is that more evident than in the Bayshore Arts District in East Naples, where Kara serves as a founding member of the
Board of Directors. Her involvement is deeply personal. She understands the district’s history, zoning, development patterns, and long-term vision because she has lived alongside it.
“I built my business on the belief that exceptional homes require exceptional marketing,” Kara explains. “Today’s buyers are sophisticated, informed, and highly visual, yet much of the industry still relies on outdated methods that don’t truly showcase a property’s value.”
That lived knowledge has translated into record-setting sales and strategic representation for buyers and sellers navigating one of Naples’ most dynamic and rapidly evolving areas. Her success extends across Collier County, including notable record-breaking sales in Windstar on Naples Bay to numerous beachfront highrises in the Park Shore area, and numerous other neighborhoods from North Naples to South Naples, as well as Marco Island.
Kara doesn’t just sell real estate—she has redefined how luxury properties are positioned, marketed, and experienced.
She recognized early on that while the internet has transformed how buyers make decisions, real estate marketing had not evolved to meet the expectations of today’s global audience. Her approach blends real estate expertise with marketing precision and creative storytelling.
“I approach every listing as a blank canvas,” Kara says. “Each home receives its own custom branding, architectural photography, cinematic storytelling, and tailored digital presence because luxury is about intention, not templates.”

"I’ve
watched Naples evolve from a quiet coastal town into an internationally recognized destination... Understanding (that) is essential...to represent(ing) it properly."

Every property Kara represents is treated as a one-of-a-kind opportunity. From bespoke branding and architectural photography to cinematic films, custom property websites, curated events, and press placement, each element is thoughtfully designed to elevate the home and connect with the right buyer emotionally and visually.
“My role isn’t just to list a property,” she adds. “It’s to create an emotional connection between the home and the right buyer, wherever in the world that buyer may be.”
The result is not only visually compelling marketing, but measurable outcomes: stronger demand, faster sales, and greater value for her clients.
Kara delivers precisely tailored service, strategy, and marketing for every client she represents. Her approach is deeply local, yet globally informed—an advantage further amplified by her affiliation with John R. Wood Christie’s International Real Estate , the region’s leading brokerage.
Through Christie’s International Real Estate, Kara’s listings are exposed to an elite national and international buyer pool while benefiting from her hyper-local expertise—an essential balance in a market where global reach must be paired with neighborhood-level insight to succeed.
She understands which streets outperform others, where future development will enhance long-term value, and how lifestyle nuances influence buyer behavior. It’s knowledge earned over decades of living, observing, and leading within the community.
“When a property is positioned correctly,” Kara says, “the result is stronger demand, a faster sale, and a better return for my clients.”
In a market filled with newcomers, Kara Heaslip stands apart as a constant.
Her lifelong ties to Naples, leadership within the community, and refined marketing-driven approach have made her a trusted advisor for buyers and sellers who expect more than transactional service. She brings clarity, creativity, and confidence to every relationship - always with the goal of protecting her clients’ interests and elevating their outcomes.
“I approach every listing as a blank canvas,” Kara says. “Each home receives its own custom branding, architectural photography, cinematic storytelling, and tailored digital presence because luxury is about intention, not templates.”

“I don’t just help people buy and sell homes,” Kara says. “I help them understand Naples' lifestyle, its neighborhoods, and its future.”
From the Southeast Naples streets where she grew up to the waterfront and luxury communities she now represents, Kara’s story mirrors the evolution of Naples itself. Kara's performance speaks for itself. She has been a top-producing realtor since 2010, ranking among the top 1% in Collier County and the top 1.5% nationwide for sales volume. Kara also has an incredible 100% five-star client satisfaction rating, where clients share feedback such as the following:
"Working with Kara was truly a great experience. Even in today’s tough market, she went above and beyond to market our property and get it SOLD. Since we were out of the state, Kara handled everything [...]."
For those looking to buy or sell in our Paradise Coast of Collier County, Kara's lived perspective and skillset makes all the difference!

With Utter Declutter, a premium home-organizing business rooted in faith, family, and life in the Paradise Coast

...cabinets and drawers... ...linen closets...
On a quiet Naples morning, sunlight spills across a kitchen that feels calm before the day even begins. Cabinets open smoothly. Counters remain clear. There is a place for everything—and everything seems to quietly support the rhythm of family life unfolding within the walls. For Jhen and Casey Watson, this sense of order didn’t come from chasing perfection. It came from necessity, love, and a season of profound transition.
The Watsons are young, entrepreneurial, and deeply rooted in family life. Parents to two daughters with a baby boy on the way, they are also the founders of Utter Declutter, a family-owned, premium home-organizing company serving Southwest Florida. What began as a personal turning point during postpartum recovery has since grown into a business designed to help other families experience the same clarity, peace, and functionality in their homes.
The story of Utter Declutter begins not with a business plan, but with a kitchen cabinet.
After the birth of their second daughter, Aiana, Casey entered a season of postpartum recovery. Jhen stepped into the role of primary caretaker—managing the household, caring for a newborn and toddler, and navigating the daily demands of family life while ensuring Casey could rest and heal.
Like many homes in transition, theirs slowly became overwhelmed. Cabinets were overfilled. Storage spaces lacked systems. Everyday tasks took longer than they should have, and simple routines felt heavy. One afternoon, while preparing baby
bottles in the kitchen, Jhen opened a cabinet—and watched as bottles and tableware spilled out in an avalanche.
In that moment, something shifted. “There has to be a better way to live in your own home,” he realized.
What followed was not a weekend tidy-up, but a full reimagining of how their home functioned. Over the course of two weeks, Jhen reorganized the entire house—room by room. He created intentional systems, introduced labels and zones, and designed spaces around how their family actually lived, not how a showroom suggested they should.
The result was immediate and profound. The home no longer added stress—it removed it.
For Casey, the impact was deeply emotional. During a vulnerable season of recovery, she felt supported, cared for, and surrounded by calm. The mental load lifted. The atmosphere changed. And together, they realized something important: other families deserved to experience this too.
Utter Declutter was born.
At the center of Utter Declutter is the Watson family itself. Their firstborn, Aila , is three years old—vibrant, expressive, and fiercely independent. Advanced in language and personality, she loves dancing, riding her scooter, and dressing up as Elsa from Frozen . She is a devoted big sister to Aiana, protective and affectionate in equal measure. Her one surprising fear? Puppets.
Aiana , now one and a half, is affectionate and observant, with a nurturing spirit well beyond her years. She loves hugs, singing “Let It Go,” and imaginative play. Recently, she’s begun forming sentences—often while proudly holding an impressive six McDonald’s nuggets at once—a family legend in the making.
Their third child, Abel , is expected any day now. His pregnancy has been marked by resilience and faith, following a diagnosis of a rare blood condition called alloimmunization. Despite the challenges, Abel remains healthy—though famously camera-shy, often hiding his face during ultrasound photos.
Completing the household is Alaska , the family’s gentle Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who can usually be found close to wherever the children are playing.
This is not just a brand story—it’s a family story. And it informs everything Utter Declutter does.
For the Watsons, organization was never about making a home look perfect. It was about making life easier.
Before, daily routines were marked by friction—stressful mornings, cluttered evenings, and the constant feeling of falling behind. After implementing intentional systems, the rhythm of the household transformed.
Mornings became calmer. Evening resets took minutes instead of hours. Everyone knew where things belonged.
More importantly, the emotional benefits were undeniable. Reduced mental load meant more presence. More presence meant more connection—with each other, and with their children.
Utter Declutter operates from this philosophy: homes should work for the people living in them . Organization is not about control; it’s about freedom—freeing time, energy, and attention for what matters most.
At just 25, Jhen Watson is the founder, owner, and lead organizer of Utter Declutter—but his path here was anything but expected.
Born in Las Vegas, Jhen moved to Naples at age 14 when his father became an entertainer at Truluck’s on Fifth Avenue. He graduated from Palmetto Ridge High School and quickly became known locally for his musical talent, winning multiple area talent shows.
Music remains a passion, as does his role as co-pastor at a local Christian church. Organization, however, was an unexpected calling—one that emerged organically from family life and revealed itself as both a gift and a service.
“I never set out to start an organizing business,” Jhen says. “But once I saw how deeply it changed our home—and Casey’s experience during postpartum—I couldn’t ignore it.”
At 23, Casey Watson brings a complementary depth to Utter Declutter’s foundation.
Raised primarily in Naples after moving from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Casey was a varsity cheer captain at Naples High School before studying esthetics at Sunstate / Aveda Institute. After her first pregnancy, she transitioned into full-time motherhood—eventually becoming a birth doula serving women both locally and nationally.
Her work focuses on birth education, holistic practices, and maternal and infant rights advocacy. A creative at heart, she
enjoys reading, vlogging, and storytelling—and shares Jhen’s entrepreneurial, non-traditional vision for family life.
Together, they have built a business that supports not just homes, but the people within them.
Faith plays a central role in the Watsons’ lives. They are active in a growing local Christian church and deeply committed to serving the Naples community long-term.
They embrace Southwest Florida’s outdoor lifestyle, often spending afternoons at local parks—especially Fleischmann Park— where their children can play freely and life feels beautifully simple.
Utter Declutter is not a stepping stone. It’s a commitment to this community.
Utter Declutter is positioned as a premium, turnkey, donefor-you home-organizing service. The company specializes in full-service transformations of whole homes, garages, kitchens, closets, and storage spaces.
Their process is comprehensive and thoughtful, including:
• Design and planning
• Decluttering and junk removal
• Donation coordination
• Sourcing custom storage solutions
• Installation of shelving, racks, and slatwall systems
• Final organization tailored to each client’s lifestyle
The result is a home that feels peaceful, functional, and easy to maintain—designed around real life, not idealized images.
The Watsons envision Utter Declutter becoming a trusted household name throughout Southwest Florida—a legacy business rooted in service, family, and faith.
They are focused on helping families reclaim their homes— and in doing so, reclaim time, peace of mind, and presence.
Contact them today as they are offering complimentary consultations for Paradise Coast City Lifestyle readers!

IN-HOME, THERAPEUTIC PRACTICE THAT NURTURES BODY, MIND & SPIRIT
ARTICLE BY PCCL STAFF PHOTOGRAPHY BY RETHINK YOGA
If you’ve ever wondered whether yoga could be more than a class you take at the gym—whether it could be a deeply personal, healing practice tailored to your body’s needs—then the work of Kim Shand , founder of Rethink Yoga , might just resonate with you. Based in Naples, Kim has spent more than three decades refining a unique approach to yoga therapy that meets people where they are, helping them move with purpose, breathe with ease, and age with strength and grace.

At its heart, Rethink Yoga is not a one-size-fits-all sequence of stretches. It’s a method born from a lifetime of experience, resilience, and refined technique. Kim’s journey began early—she started practicing yoga at age five due to a spinal birth defect, long before most people knew what yoga really was. That early connection to mindful movement planted seeds that would later grow into a practice rooted in both physical wellness and emotional empowerment.
Today, Rethink Yoga blends the flowing movement of vinyasa with the philosophical and anatomical wisdom of yogic and Western sciences. The result is a practice that leaves participants feeling lighter, more energized, and more in tune with their own potential. Kim often says her goal is to inspire people “to take control of their health, how they think and how they age through yoga.”
What sets Rethink Yoga apart is its emphasis on individual attention. Especially for those over 55, who may be living with back pain, limited mobility, or recovering from surgeries or medical treatments, the idea of a tailored yoga session—personalized and therapeutic—can be much more appealing and effective than an oversized group class.
Yoga therapy, the cornerstone of Kim’s work, is fundamentally different from a typical yoga class. It’s a session designed to address a person’s specific health concerns, whether it’s chronic pain, limited range of motion, stress, or recovery from a health challenge. By combining breathwork, mindful movement, and personalized adjustments, yoga therapy supports healing on multiple levels.

Many clients come to Kim for help with back pain, spinal imbalances, or posture issues—conditions that become increasingly common with age. Through consistent, mindful movement and alignment-based practices, participants frequently report not only physical relief, but also a renewed sense of confidence and well-being.
One of the most profound aspects of Kim’s work is her experience working with people navigating serious health conditions, including cancer. Yoga for cancer is not about intensive physical feats; it’s about restoring breathing capacity, reducing anxiety, supporting immune function, and helping individuals reclaim a sense of control during treatment and recovery. These sessions are designed with safety, compassion, and empowerment at the forefront.
In these therapeutic sessions, the focus expands beyond the body to embrace the whole person— mind, spirit, and emotional resilience. For many, this deepened connection becomes a lifeline, offering calm in the midst of uncertainty and a way to experience strength even on difficult days.

MORE THAN MOVEMENT: A PHILOSOPHY OF EMPOWERMENT
Rethink Yoga carries a philosophy that resonates deeply with older adults seeking wellness that feels purposeful and sustainable. It emphasizes informed, well-aligned movement, mindful breathing, and a modern application of ancient yogic philosophy. This means the practice isn’t just about flexibility; it’s about cultivating resilience, balance, and joy in everyday life.
Kim’s work also reflects a compassionate understanding of how aging bodies move differently. She encourages students to redefine what yoga means for them—not to compare their abilities to others, but to explore what nourishment and strength feel like from the inside out. This perspective can be especially transformative for people who may have written off yoga as too physical or intimidating in the past.
For many in the 55+ community, the idea of practicing in the comfort of home is particularly appealing. Kim offers one-on-one sessions tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. Whether it’s building strength, addressing chronic pain, or simply finding a calmer, more centered way of living, her personalized approach meets clients where they are—literally and figuratively.
In a world that often celebrates extremes, Kim’s message is refreshingly grounded: yoga isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence, self-awareness, and healing. For anyone seeking a thoughtful, therapeutic approach to movement that honors both body and spirit, Rethink Yoga is an invitation to explore what wellness can truly be, at any age.

In a region known for its warm weather, vibrant culture, and tight-knit communities, there’s a quiet but powerful movement underway—one that’s helping young people find direction, confidence, and practical skills to succeed in life. Project Build SWFL , a nonprofit based in Naples founded by Aram Wheatley, is turning that vision into reality, empowering at-risk youth and young adults with mentorship, financial know-how, and career training that lasts a lifetime.
For many Southwest Florida residents who have watched this area grow over the decades, it’s clear that any thriving community depends on opportunities for its youngest members. That’s exactly where Project Build SWFL steps in—partnering with families,
“This is about building more than trade skills,” says one local supporter.
“It’s about helping these young people build dignity, self-worth, and resilience—invaluable qualities.”

local agencies, and volunteers to bridge gaps and open doors for those who need a helping hand.
Project Build SWFL was formed with a mission that resonates deeply with community values: to empower homeless and foster youth, plus young adults facing challenges, and help them become productive, responsible contributors to their families and neighborhoods.
Their approach is holistic, rooted in three core areas:
• Mentoring: Participants receive consistent guidance and support, enabling them
to explore personal challenges, build self-awareness, and develop essential life skills. These mentoring sessions are not just about teaching—they create relationships that foster confidence and growth.
• Financial Literacy: In today’s complex economic world, financial confidence is critical. Project Build SWFL partners with local banks and experts to help young people learn how to budget, build credit, understand investments, and plan for financial independence—skills that benefit them for decades.
• Workforce Development: Perhaps the most impactful element for many participants, this program equips young adults with real, hands-on vocational training. From
carpentry and plumbing to OSHA safety certification and customer service skills, the nonprofit’s career programs put participants on a path toward good jobs and long-term stability.
Southwest Florida isn’t just a great place to live—it’s also a region where many young people struggle with limited access to education, job training, or stable support systems. Project Build SWFL fills an important niche by offering more than temporary assistance. They help participants earn industry-recognized certifications and often even assist with job placement afterward.

"Setting these kids up for success all starts with love and relationship-building,” Founder and CEO Aram says. “There’s nobody that I thank more than them.”
One of the unique aspects of the program is its focus on the construction and skilled trades sectors, where demand for qualified workers continues to grow. At a time when many industries face labor shortages, preparing a new generation of skilled professionals strengthens not only individual lives but the local economy as well.
In addition to trade skills like plumbing, drywall, and forklift operation, participants also receive training in areas such as customer service, inventory logistics, and conflict resolution—broadening career options and helping young adults thrive in a wider range of professions.
What makes Project Build SWFL especially effective is its collaboration with local youth agencies, families, and volunteers who contribute time, expertise, and encouragement. These partnerships help shape a nurturing environment where participants feel supported on every step of their journey— whether they’re learning to balance a checkbook or mastering the basics of carpentry.
For older adults in the community—many of whom have spent decades in careers, raised families, and built lives in Southwest Florida—this mission resonates. It offers a meaningful way to contribute, whether through volunteering, mentoring, or supporting fundraising efforts that keep the nonprofit’s programs thriving.
Project Build SWFL also hosts fundraising and community events like its popular “Casino Night” which brings people together for fun while supporting workforce development programs. Support Project Build by attending "Casino Night" on Saturday March 28th 7-10pm at Great Wolf Lodge! Buy tickets at: https://projectbuildswfl.org/#events
For anyone looking for ways to make a positive impact in the lives of youth via mentorship or donation, Project Build SWFL provides a natural avenue—one that fosters hope, dignity, and opportunity all at once. Visit https:// projectbuildswfl.org to learn more.
In a world that sometimes feels uncertain, organizations like Project Build SWFL remind us of the power of local action and intergenerational support. By equipping young people with the tools they need to succeed, this nonprofit is not just building careers—it’s strengthening families, enhancing our community’s future, and helping individuals realize their potential.
Whether you’ve lived in Southwest Florida for years or are newer to the region, engaging with Project Build SWFL offers a way to be part of something lasting and impactful—helping to build brighter futures for our community’s youth and the generations to follow.
