Annie Bohanon ANNIE BOHANON RETIRED AS HEAD OF THE LABORATORY AT CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL AND ALSO WORKED 10 YEARS FOR THE STATE ARTS COUNCIL. Annie has been on boards of Oklahoma Humanities Council, Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma, YWCA, Planned Parenthood and the advisory board of Ballet Oklahoma, and has been involved with Oklahoma Contemporary Museum. Her activities don’t stop there. She has chaired events like the Girl Scouts annual luncheon, the Gala for Creative O, a fundraiser for Ballet Oklahoma and dozens more. “What drives and interests me is introducing people to the arts and increasing their quality of life,” she says. “Being on many boards and committees has allowed me to meet incredible women who have become friends. I feel I need to give back to the community I love.” 22

Rhonda Hooper has served for 11 years as president/ CEO of Jordan Advertising, a marketing, advertising and public relations agency that has been headquartered in Oklahoma City since 1961. “What drives me is the ability to work with others who have spark, drive and a can-do spirit,” she says. “Their attitude refuels my passion and enthusiasm. Ultimately, I love being involved because I can see the outcome of all of our hard work.” Rhonda is currently serving as chair of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, the first female to head the organization since its founding 128 years ago, and as vice chair of the OKC Economic Development Trust. She also chaired the OKC Convention & Visitors

Lori Burson Lori Burson, owner and founder of Stella Modern Italian Cuisine is always on the move. Being a busy entrepreneur, Lori says she knows focus is the key to making a real difference. "Everyone's time is so limited, so, for me personally, I like to try to narrow down my focus instead of trying to be involved with everything," she says. "Art is a passion. Years ago, I was very honored to be selected to be on the Oklahoma Contemporary Arts board, and we'll be opening a new building that we're raising funds for." She opened her first health agency in 1995, and, since 2008, EnTrust Home Health has worked collectively with some of the top orthopedic surgeons in Oklahoma City on developing an Orthopedic Aftercare Program. “I’m very service-oriented, and I really like building the relationship,” Terri says. “There is nothing better than doing something that helps others.” Terri was one of the founders of the Oklahoma Cancer Care Foundation, which provided transportation for those receiving chemotherapy. Although high-end jewelry stores have carried lariats for several seasons, the popularity of the style has finally gone mainstream. “You see this a lot on the red carpet,” she says.

JOSTLIN VANZANT DIDN’T PARTICULARLY LOVE TREES, EVEN THOUGH HER FATHER, KOREE VANZANT, OWNED AND OPERATED ARBOR IMAGE TREE CARE. All she knew was she didn’t want to work an indoor office job, and she loved the outdoors. But after five years as a nutritionist for the tree care company, she’s developed a love for all things trees. “I pretty much learned everything from my dad,” she says. “I loved being outdoors. I didn’t really care about trees before, but after working with trees and learning about them, I’ve developed a real passion for trees. I enjoy the science and learning about them and the twists they sometimes throw your way. Every day, I learn more and love trees more.” Now second in command, Jostlin follows in her dad’s footsteps to be a business owner and an expert on trees. As the primary tree nutritionist, Jostlin does everything from feeding trees the nutrition they need during the spring and fall to laying down dormant oils to help trees stay healthy in winter and treat for insects and fungus that harm trees in the summer. And she loves every second of it. “If you do a comparison between trees in the forest and urban trees, you’ll find those environments are two different things,” she says. “We overwater and overfertilize, and trees aren’t getting the nutrition they usually get in a natural setting.
