Actively Engaging In 2026
When we hear the word "Invest," our minds often jump straight to spreadsheets and stock tickers. But true investment is much more than financial; it's the intentional allocation of our time, energy and heart into the lives we want to lead.
Successfully navigating life requires a clear personal vision. By setting SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound) and breaking them down into small, daily habits, we turn "someday" into "today." When we pair this with a growth mindset and a resilient spirit, we aren’t just living; we're compounding our personal value through constant learning and self-reflection.
This April, as we look toward the United States Semiquincentennial, it's a poignant time to reflect on our collective history. Observing the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence invites us to consider how we invest in the future of our country as much as ourselves. It's this dual commitment to personal and national growth that ensures long-term progress for us all.
Of course, for many in our community, investment also means "home." Whether you're looking for a primary residence or a rental property, the local landscape is evolving. Christy Manetta, president of the Bucks County Association of Realtors, notes that our market is becoming more balanced: "Buyers are benefiting from slightly more time and choice, while sellers continue to see strong home values and steady demand. Bucks County remains a desirable place to live, and these conditions support thoughtful, confident real estate decisions."
Ultimately, the most valuable investments are the ones we make together. From supporting our local nonprofits and schools to nurturing our businesses and youth, Newtown City Lifestyle is built on a foundation of shared commitment.
Thank you for being part of the fabric of this community. Let’s make this a season of investing in what matters most.

Jay Spaziano Real Estate Represents Rare On-The-Market 928 Taylorsville Road, Washington Crossing
Presenting the Matthias Harvye Estate, which Realtor Jay Spaziano says is one of Bucks County's most exceptional historic estates.
Situated on 3 acres between the Delaware River and the Canal in Washington Crossing, this property represents a rare opportunity. Upon entering via the distinctive red bridge over the canal, visitors are greeted by an atmosphere that reflects the property's storied past; historical records note that General Washington and his troops camped on these grounds prior to their march to Trenton.
The Canal House residence, originally constructed in 1709, was thoughtfully updated to incorporate modern conveniences while retaining its period character. The home comprises three bedrooms and three and one-half bathrooms, featuring authentic hardware, pumpkin pine flooring, pie staircases, deep sill windows and hearth fireplace, complemented by amenities such as heated floors, walk-in cedar closets and contemporary lighting.
At press time, this property was for sale for $2,195,000.
Matthias Harvye Estate
This estate also includes a second residence: a restored barn house, circa 1840 and relocated from Kutztown, Pennsylvania.
The barn-home offers three bedrooms, all en-suite, a full pool bathroom, gourmet kitchen, soapstone countertops, cabinetry fashioned from reclaimed barn wood, expansive ceilings, large windows, wide-plank floors, two prominent turned staircases and Moravian tile mosaics.
Outdoor features include a rectangular inground pool surrounded by landscaped gardens and paver patios, three-season entertainment area, substantial stone fireplace and fire pit.
The 1800s springhouse with heating/cooling was converted into a wine cellar.
Amenities include a three-car detached garage with epoxy flooring and storage, custom pond populated with frogs and fish, back-up generators for both homes, direct access to the canal towpath, and proximity to Washington Crossing State Park, Newtown, New Hope and Yardley for dining and shopping.

CAPITALIZE WITH Quality FENCING
Northeast Fence & Iron Works Crew Provides Long-Lasting Curb Appeal
An investment in quality fencing is an investment in the long-term appeal of one's property, says Ray Longstreath Jr., sales manager at Northeast Fence & Iron Works.
“Cheaper fencing might look OK at first, but if it starts leaning, warping and rotting a few years down the line, you end up paying twice when someone has to come out and do it again,” Ray says. “A well-built fence like ours is an investment in longterm value — it lasts significantly longer, requires fewer repairs and adds property value.”
Particularly in a region with consistent seasonal weather changes, durability is vital for a fence that will have to withstand the elements.
According to Ray, the property transformation from a quality fence is multifaceted. One important aspect is security; whether it be for children or pets, a fence can give homeowners peace of mind when spending time outdoors.
“There’s a curb appeal factor, too,” Ray adds. “A fence makes a house look complete and cared for, and a quality fence has cleaner lines and will hold that appearance for longer.”
Certain fences also can offer increased privacy for a property.
“At my house, I have our Deon Series fence,” Ray says. “It has vinyl boards set within the steel frame, so it gives me the peace of mind of knowing that it’s structurally sound and that people can’t just look into the yard. Lines of vision are now obscured to prevent unwanted access.”
Ray and his team have seen an influx of customers choosing the Deon Series for their homes and businesses since they began to offer it a few years ago.
The Deon Series is a product of their own creation, combining the framework of tubular steel fencing with modern, vinyl boards.
“The Deon Series offers two distinct designs that are exclusively designed and manufactured by Northeast Fence & Iron Works: traditional and picket,” Ray explains. “Both designs offer a durable tubular steel frame with a sharp powder coat finish. To fill the frame, we added vinyl picket boards to give it a more elegant and vivid appearance. These are the same boards used in traditional vinyl fencing. The combination of the steel frame with the vinyl privacy boards allows this fence to offer a unique, attractive finish that can serve the needs of both residential and commercial customers.”
The vinyl comes in a range of eight colors, from white to weathered cedar to chestnut brown. Customers can customize the design with either horizontal or vertical slats depending on their taste and needs.
“I actually really like the horizontal slats. It offers a different image from what you normally see on a fence,” Ray says.
NF&I crews install several types of fences (aluminum, chain link, wood, vinyl and specialty offerings) in addition to automatic gate operators, iron and aluminum railings, and sandblast and powder coating to provide the exact color for which customers are looking.
The family-owned business, first opened by Ray’s father, Ray Sr., in 1972, has been a go-to for the fencing needs of Bucks County and the Philadelphia area for 50-plus years. They have been dedicated to excellent service and high-quality products since the beginning.
“For me, this isn’t just a job — it’s personal,” Ray says. “I’ve grown up around the business for my entire life, and I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to build a reputation in the surrounding community and how important it is to protect that. We’re not just focused on the volume or the quantity of things, we want to do the job right the first time.”
“From estimating prices to communication to installation, we want to uphold the standard that the company was founded on,” Ray continues. “I look at every job like it’s my friend’s house.”

LOC AL COMMUNITY SUPPORT TO CHOP RUNWAY FOR NEWBORN/ INFANT INTENSIVE CARE UNIT

INVESTING THROUGH
PHILANTHROPY
Chrissy DeForrest first encountered the CHOP Runway fundraiser, a fashion show featuring Philadelphia’s top boutiques and designers, as a model with Oscar de la Renta. This year, she’s contributing to the cause through Raising Dough with The Little Wildflour, a series of sourdough making classes with proceeds benefiting CHOP’s Newborn/Infant Intensive Care Unit whose professionals care for extremely ill babies battling prematurity effects; birth defects; lung, heart and gastrointestinal conditions; and other disorders.
Chrissy is the mind behind The Little Wildflour, an artisanal sourdough microbakery in the making, based in New Hope. She joined CHOP's Runway committee after being approached by Newtown resident Sabrina Thorne, the event's co-chair for the second year in a row. Last year, they raised $654,000.
Sabrina says this year's fashion show is May 19 at The Bellevue Hotel in Philly.
"Once you see how unbelievable these times are for families at CHOP and what this funding can do for them, you'll want to be involved," Sabrina adds.
"Philanthropy is my love language. I love using my platform to spread awareness whenever and however I can,” Chrissy says. “While living and working as a model in New York City for 15 years, I had the privilege of working with Robin Hood, one of the city’s leading charitable organizations. I'm incredibly grateful to now be connected to the incredible mission of one of the leading children’s hospitals in the world."
The first sourdough class, scheduled for May 3, will be a private event held at Chrissy’s home, followed by a luncheon provided by Thyme & Plate Catering of Carversville.
“We’ll be showcasing the concept to then hopefully work with other local vendors, farm and restaurants for future events,” she explains. “I’ve had such amazing support from businesses all around. It feels like a real community where we’re all genuinely connecting to help support something bigger than ourselves.”
Chrissy is covering the event's overhead and supply costs, meaning every dollar donated will go directly to CHOP’s efforts. She hopes to open up future opportunities to other community members, with funding going to any worthy cause.
“With each class, we want to assess where the need is,” she explains. “I even have dreams of starting a community garden that our schools have access to. It’s ever-evolving.”
Chrissy says she'll post updates about future classes on her Instagram @thelittlewildflour.

Early each morning, bolstered with tea in a Union Jack flag mug, a local Realtor searches the area MLS to find homes that match her clients' preferences. Broker Colleen Evanchik, owner of Royale Homes real estate agency based in Washington Crossing, says she delights in then immediately notifying clients about those listing possibilities.
By serving both homebuyers and sellers, Colleen was formerly affiliated with RE/MAX Total until she launched her own boutique real estate brokerage during this past December. She has extensive experience in the 55-plus housing market.
As a self-professed 'people' person, Colleen admits she also loves to show homes. "And when we list a home, we often get to help the sellers organize their move, which can sometimes seem overwhelming to them," she adds.
This Royale team's overall approach to real estate results stems from their team motto: Serving the community with honesty and integrity, wit and wisdom. Colleen confirms, "We do feel we are here to be of service."
Colleen, of Washington Crossing, is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI); has earned the Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP); is an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR); and has a broker’s license in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is also a member of the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing. While she was born in Great Britain, she has resided with her family in the Yardley and Washington Crossing area for 40-plus years.
Colleen's daughter, Realtor Tanya Evanchik, previously was a senior sales associate in new construction for a national building company and after 12 years joined the family's real estate team. She resides in Yardley.
Realtor Joe Maher also supports the Evanchik team, bringing his notable expertise in heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical matters.
All three team members are licensed real estate agents in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. They primarily serve Bucks and Montgomery Counties in Pennsylvania, in addition to Mercer, Burlington and Hunterdon Counties in New Jersey.
Notably, the Bucks County housing market opened 2026 with steady activity, balanced conditions and continued price strength, offering opportunities for both buyers and sellers, according to the latest data from Bucks County Association of Realtors (BCAR) staffers. The median sold price for residential properties in the BCAR market area was $500,000 in January, reflecting a 2% decrease from December while still showing a 1% increase compared to January 2025.
However, Colleen says it's ultra important to understand each client's different needs because buying and selling a home is a lot more than bricks and mortar. "The process can sometimes be daunting, so we try to lessen stress. As an example, we sell many homes in our local 55-plus community, and offer to help by coordinating the cleanout, if necessary."
Regarding the 2026 real estate market, Colleen shares that most of their house purchase transactions the past few years have been 'cash.' Industry statistics support that trend. Nearly one in three U.S. homes was bought entirely with cash during the first half of 2025, according to an analysis done by Realtor. com staffers. The report, released in October 2025, also analyzes how cash sales are shaping local real estate markets across America, including equity-rich households, investors and second-home purchasers.
An all-cash house purchase traditionally is a real estate transaction where buyers purchase a property outright using their own, readily available funds, rather than securing a mortgage loan. Buyers typically provide proof, such as bank statements, to sellers showing they have the full purchase
price available. This approach signifies a faster, streamlined closing process for sellers, sometimes involving wire transfers for the full amount. Buyers then save on lender-related closing costs, such as loan origination fees.
Colleen says as a team, they are able to offer a more personal approach to real estate. "We obviously sell real estate for a living, but we do not only consider the financial rewards; rather our reward is making people happy. Whether buying or selling a cozy condo or a mansion, our clients are treated like royalty!"

Redefining MVP: TIM TEBOW’S LIFE BEYOND FOOTBALL
An exclusive Q&A with City Lifestyle
ARTICLE BY ANGELA BROOCKERD
PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED
From championship trophies to global humanitarian impact, Tim Tebow’s journey has defied every standard playbook. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Tebow pulls back the curtain on the moments that truly defined him, from a humbling middle school church retreat to the life-altering shift of fatherhood. This isn’t just a look back at a career; it’s an invitation into the heart of a man driven by purpose. Read the highlights below, then join us for the full, unfiltered experience by scanning the QR code at the end.
Q: WE ALL KNOW YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD, BUT TELL US ABOUT THE CURL CONTEST.
A: I was competing for my future high school team (my brother’s team), and I pushed myself way past what was smart. I ended up collapsing and needing medical attention. But what stayed with me wasn’t the pain, it was the lesson. Would I be willing to do something that others aren’t? For much of my life, I strived to bring my best for a game, but I hope that I can say at the end of my life I was willing to do that for things that actually matter.
Q: YOU’VE ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN SPORTS. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT NOW?
A: Becoming a dad. Nothing compares. From the moment I knew my wife was pregnant, I felt a new depth of love for our child, but when you bring your baby home, the responsibility hits you like nothing else. Suddenly, everything you see, every decision you make, you’re asking, “Is this corner too sharp? What happens if she reaches that drawer?” It changes how you see the world and how you see other people.
Q: YOU’VE SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT DISAPPOINTMENT, ESPECIALLY AROUND FOOTBALL. HOW DID THAT SEASON OF LIFE SHAPE YOU?
A: I talked a lot about that very thing in my book Shaken . We all go through moments where our faith in our abilities and purpose feels rattled, but I believe it’s often in those storms when God can show us who we could become.
Q: YOU TALK A LOT ABOUT COMPARISON CULTURE. WHY DO YOU BELIEVE COMPARISON HAS BECOME SUCH A TRAP TODAY?
A: Because we’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel. Social media shows people’s “best day,” often filtered and staged, and then we measure our reality against that. There’s a reason filters are so popular—it’s not real. We end up scrolling through images that don’t tell the full story, and without realizing it, comparison starts to steal our joy and our gratitude.
“We’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel... comparison starts to steal our joy.”
Q: YOUR FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON THE “MOST VULNERABLE.” WHERE DID THAT CALLING BEGIN?
A: When I was 15, I met a boy in the Philippines who was treated as a throwaway because he was born with physical differences. That moment changed me. I realized God was calling me to pursue a different kind of MVP, not “Most Valuable Player,” but “Most Vulnerable People.”
Q: FINALLY, WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
A: I have some weird coffee habits, which include protein powder, collagen, and cream all mixed together. I love golf dates with my wife. And every night, I bring snacks to bed to share with our dogs. It brings me more joy than it probably should.
This conversation barely scratches the surface. Tim goes deeper into the moments that rattled him, the joys of fatherhood, and one story he has never shared publicly until now. Scan the QR code for the full, exclusive City Lifestyle interview on Share the Lifestyle Podcast.

INDOOR PLANT GUIDE
Investing in indoor plants can not only spruce up your living space, but also bring numerous health and well-being benefits
SNAKE PLANT:
The Snake Plant is for anyone from a green thumb to a black thumb because anyone can grow it. These hardy plants can adapt to any environment and can live in both high light and low light.
HOPE PEPEROMIA:
The Hope Peperomia likes medium to bright direct sunlight. It does well as a tabletop plant or a hanging plant. Watering is only needed one time a month regardless of plant size.
Bringing the outdoors in with the use of house plants is a great way to add color and dimension to your space. We sat down with Jesse Nelson at Family Tree Nursery, based in Kansas, and discussed the benefits of incorporating plant life into your home. “There are plenty of studies on the health benefits of plants, and the evidence suggests that being around plants and caring for plant life increases overall wellness,” explains Nelson. “Anytime you bring a plant into a home or work environment, it’s going to make you feel better. It is going to beautify the space in a way that art cannot, and they also have the added benefit of purifying the air.” There are a wide variety of indoor plants that work for any space and light situation that you may have. Regardless if you have a green thumb or a black thumb, there are plant varieties that fit your lifestyle. Here are a few of our favorite indoor plants to incorporate into your home.
ZZ PLANT:
The ZZ plant, which its formal name is Zamioculas Zamiifolia, is a very easy plant to care for. They like anything from low light to bright light. These plants are hard to kill and can go a long time without being watered.
