JENNIFER
LUCAS RICHIE,

To the Place We Call Home

Investment is often measured in numbers - dollars spent, returns earned, growth tracked over time. But the most meaningful investments are the ones rooted in people, place, and presence.

I’ve called Mount Juliet home since 2011, and my family since 2018. It’s where we’ve built our life, grown our careers, and are now raising our three children. It’s the place where our kids go to the doctor, where they dance, swim, and play soccer, and where everyday moments - sideline conversations, quick hellos at the store - quietly shape a sense of belonging.

When we stepped into Mount Juliet Lifestyle, it wasn’t because we saw a market opportunity. It was because we saw a community we love, and one we believe in deeply.

This issue is centered on investment, and for us, that means choosing to pour back into the place that has poured so much into us. It means highlighting the businesses that took a leap of faith here. The families who planted roots. The leaders, creatives, and entrepreneurs who are building something meaningfulnot just for today, but for the generations coming behind them.

Mount Juliet is growing quickly, and growth brings both excitement and responsibility. There’s an opportunity right now to be intentional about how we support one another, how we tell our stories, and how we stay connected even as our city expands. Our hope is that this magazine continues to be a steady, trusted place where those stories live - where local businesses are celebrated, neighbors are introduced, and community is always at the center of the conversation.

This magazine is not just a publication to us. It’s an investment of time, energy, and care into a town we are proud to call home. A commitment to showing up consistently and thoughtfully. And a belief that when we invest locally, when we truly see and support one another, we all thrive.

Thank you for welcoming us into this role and into your homes. We are honored to be part of telling Mount Juliet’s story, and we’re just getting started.

With gratitude,

April 2026

Redefining MVP: TIM TEBOW’S LIFE BEYOND FOOTBALL

An exclusive Q&A with City Lifestyle

PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

From championship trophies to global humanitarian impact, Tim Tebow’s journey has defied every standard playbook. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Tebow pulls back the curtain on the moments that truly defined him, from a humbling middle school church retreat to the life-altering shift of fatherhood. This isn’t just a look back at a career; it’s an invitation into the heart of a man driven by purpose. Read the highlights below, then join us for the full, unfiltered experience by scanning the QR code at the end.

Q: WE ALL KNOW YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD, BUT TELL US ABOUT THE CURL CONTEST.

A: I was competing for my future high school team (my brother’s team), and I pushed myself way past what was smart. I ended up collapsing and needing medical attention. But what stayed with me wasn’t the pain, it was the lesson. Would I be willing to do something that others aren’t? For much of my life, I strived to bring my best for a game, but I hope that I can say at the end of my life I was willing to do that for things that actually matter.

Q: YOU’VE ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN SPORTS. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT NOW?

A: Becoming a dad. Nothing compares. From the moment I knew my wife was pregnant, I felt a new depth of love for our child, but when you bring your baby home, the responsibility hits you like nothing else. Suddenly, everything you see, every decision you make, you’re asking, “Is this corner too sharp? What happens if she reaches that drawer?” It changes how you see the world and how you see other people.

Q: YOU’VE SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT DISAPPOINTMENT, ESPECIALLY AROUND FOOTBALL. HOW DID THAT SEASON OF LIFE SHAPE YOU?

A: I talked a lot about that very thing in my book Shaken . We all go through moments where our faith in our abilities and purpose feels rattled, but I believe it’s often in those storms when God can show us who we could become.

Q: YOU TALK A LOT ABOUT COMPARISON CULTURE. WHY DO YOU BELIEVE COMPARISON HAS BECOME SUCH A TRAP TODAY?

A: Because we’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel. Social media shows people’s “best day,” often filtered and staged, and then we measure our reality against that. There’s a reason filters are so popular—it’s not real. We end up scrolling through images that don’t tell the full story, and without realizing it, comparison starts to steal our joy and our gratitude.

“We’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel... comparison starts to steal our joy.”

Q: YOUR FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON THE “MOST VULNERABLE.” WHERE DID THAT CALLING BEGIN?

A: When I was 15, I met a boy in the Philippines who was treated as a throwaway because he was born with physical differences. That moment changed me. I realized God was calling me to pursue a different kind of MVP, not “Most Valuable Player,” but “Most Vulnerable People.”

Q: FINALLY, WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?

A: I have some weird coffee habits, which include protein powder, collagen, and cream all mixed together. I love golf dates with my wife. And every night, I bring snacks to bed to share with our dogs. It brings me more joy than it probably should.

This conversation barely scratches the surface. Tim goes deeper into the moments that rattled him, the joys of fatherhood, and one story he has never shared publicly until now. Scan the QR code for the full, exclusive City Lifestyle interview on Share the Lifestyle Podcast.

IROQUOIS SPRING STEEPLECHASE 85th Anniversary

'RITE OF SPRING' THROUGH AN EQUESTRIAN-ANCHORED, SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY ANNUAL TRADITION

There’s something about the first Saturday in May that feels quintessentially Nashville — wide-brim hats, polished boots and the thunder of hooves rolling across Percy Warner Park.  On May 9, the Iroquois Steeplechase returns for its 85th anniversary, ushering in another unforgettable “Rite of Spring.”

This year, the beloved tradition adds a new layer of energy with the debut of The Big 98 Stage, presented in partnership with iHeartMedia Nashville’s 97.9 The BIG 98.  Set in Centerfield, the live music stage will spotlight Nashvillebased artists throughout the day, blending Music City’s signature sound with one of the South’s most celebrated sporting events.

Of course, the heart of Steeplechase remains the racing itself with six exhilarating races. More than 30,000 spectators are expected to gather, embracing a day that seamlessly weaves sport, style and Southern hospitality.

From the reimagined Magnolia Garden’s all-inclusive elegance to the high-energy Royal 615 Lounge and classic tailgating traditions, there’s a vantage point for every kind of race-day reveler. Families can enjoy a dedicated children’s zone, while fashionistas compete in the always-anticipated Style Contest.  This event features something for everyone.

Beyond the pageantry, the event continues its philanthropic legacy, having contributed more than $11.4 million to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt since 1981.

Gates open at 8 a.m., and with music continuing into the evening, Steeplechase 2026 promises to be as vibrant and community-centered as ever — a Nashville tradition, beautifully evolved.

INVESTING In Childhood MEMORIES

How Camp Mirage Creates Summer Magic for Children In the Wilson County Area

In a world where schedules are packed and screens often fill the quiet moments, summer has the potential to become something sacred again - a season of scraped knees, new friendships, belly laughs, and memories that linger long after the school year begins. For families in Mount Juliet and the surrounding Wilson County area, Camp Mirage is helping make that kind of summer possible.

Originally founded 25 years ago in Plymouth, Michigan, Camp Mirage was created with a simple but powerful idea: give children the magic and camaraderie of a traditional overnight camp, all within a day camp setting. What began as a beloved local experience quickly grew into something bigger, and today, that same heart for childhood lives on right here in our community.

For local owners Jenna and Sean Gibbons, Camp Mirage is deeply personal. Both spent years working at the original Michigan camp while pursuing careers in education, forming lifelong connections and witnessing firsthand the impact summer camp can have on a child’s confidence, creativity, and sense of belonging. When the opportunity came to bring Camp Mirage to Mount Juliet, the decision felt natural.

“We’ve always believed in the life-changing power of summer camp,” Jenna shares. “It gives kids the chance to reclaim their childhood - to step away from constant technology and into experiences that encourage movement, creativity, teamwork, and real connection.”

One of the things that sets Camp Mirage apart is its remarkable variety. Rather than offering a single, one-size-fits-all experience, campers are invited to “build their own summer” by

choosing from more than 40 different camp options. From adventure camps like NERF Battle Royale, Amazing Race, and Wild Child, to sports camps including pickleball, soccer, and street hockey, to creative offerings such as Hollywood Movie Making, Business Bootcamp, Bedroom Makeover, and Eras Tour Art Camp, no two weeks at Camp Mirage have to look the same.

Camp Mirage serves children entering kindergarten through eighth grade, with junior camps designed for younger campers and main camps for older kids. Each day begins with a joyful “morning bonfire,” where

campers gather for announcements, jokes, challenges, and plenty of laughter. From there, children head into their individual camps, rotating through hands-on activities, games of Gaga Ball, slip-and-slide cool-downs, and friendly competition with fellow campers.

For families who need a longer day, Camp Mirage offers flexible after-camp programming until 5:30 p.m., featuring group games reminiscent of overnight camp traditions, themed days like Water Party or Dude Perfect Day, and relaxed moments that might include a board game and the camp’s “world-famous” popsicle.

But beyond the schedule and activities, what truly defines Camp Mirage is how children feel when they walk through the doors.

“Our hope is that kids can simply be themselves,” Jenna says. “The world puts a lot on kids today. Camp should be a place without stress or pressure - just encouragement, safety, and fun.”

That philosophy is woven into every aspect of the camp, from intentionally small group sizes to a carefully trained staff made up of passionate teens, college students, and educators who genuinely love working with kids. It’s why many families start with one week, and quickly add more after seeing their child come home tired, muddy, and happy.

In many ways, choosing summer camp is an investment - of time, resources, and trust. But it’s also an investment in something far more lasting: memories that shape who children become.

“Summer camp allows kids to step away from academic pressures and social stress,” Jenna explains. “Their job here is to have fun, try new things, meet new friends, and celebrate being a kid.”

As Camp Mirage continues to grow in Mount Juliet, its mission remains clear: to be a trusted pillar in the community and a place where childhood is protected, celebrated, and remembered.

Families can learn more, explore camp options, and register for upcoming sessions by visiting campmiragemtjuliet.com , or by following Camp Mirage Mount Juliet on Facebook and Instagram.

Because sometimes, the best investment you can make is giving your child a summer they’ll never forget.

“We’ve always believed in the life-changing power of summer camp,” Jenna shares. “It gives kids the chance to reclaim their childhood - to step away from constant technology and into experiences that encourage movement, creativity, teamwork, and real connection.”

HOMEMADE PANCAKE MIX

Back to the Basics

ARTICLE AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY

In our house, pancakes aren’t just a weekend treatthey’re a way of life. Slow mornings, extra butter, kids hovering near the griddle asking if they can flip the next one. It’s simple, familiar, and comforting in the best way.

Over time, we started paying closer attention to what was actually in the store-bought pancake mixes we were reaching for. Many of them are expensive, overly processed, and filled with ingredients we couldn’t pronounce - let alone wanted to serve regularly to our family. So we went back to the basics and created a homemade pancake mix using simple, pantry-friendly ingredients.

This recipe has quickly become a staple in our kitchen. It’s easy to mix up ahead of time, stores beautifully in the refrigerator, and makes mornings feel just a little more intentional. Best of all? It’s made with ingredients you likely already have on hand - and tastes better than anything from a box.

This one was a hit with our whole family, and we hope it becomes a favorite in yours, too!

MASON JAR WITH HOMEMADE PANCAKE MIX

For the Pancake Mix:

• 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour (bonus if you can find fresh-milled!)

• Heaping ¼ cup granulated sugar

• 3 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons baking powder

• 1 ½ teaspoons fine sea salt

For One Batch of Homemade Pancakes

(6-8 pancakes):

• 2 large eggs

• 1 ¼ cup milk or water (spoiler - it’s better with milk)

• ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled), or canola or vegetable oil

• 1 ¾ cup pancake mix

Instructions:

• To make the pancake mix, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt to a large, airtight mason jar. Feel free to double the batch, if you’d like - we had plenty of room left in our jar! Whisk to combine and make sure the ingredients are evenly distributed and well-mixed. Seal and store in a cool, dry place. Keeping it in the refrigerator will allow for it to keep longer.

• To make a batch of pancakes, mix the ingredients listed above - but don’t over-mix! Using a 1/4 measuring cup, scoop the batter onto a griddle, or, if you want pancakes that mimic those crispy edged Cracker Barrel pancakes, melt some butter in a pan and scoop your batter into the pan. Side facing up, the pancakes should start to look bubbly and dry - that’s your sign to flip them! Give your pancakes a minute or two more on the griddle or in the pan, then plate your pancakes. Top with butter, syrup, agave syrup, or - in the wise words of my daughters - “chocolate chips and sprinkles!” Enjoy!

Community DESIGNING FOR

How Anderson Architects Is Shaping Spaces—and Relationships—Across Middle Tennessee

ARTICLE BY KOURTNEY MCCOMB | PHOTOGRAPHY BY ANDERSON ARCHITECTS

In a fast-growing region like Middle Tennessee, thoughtful design does more than create buildings—it helps shape the rhythm and identity of a community. For the team at Anderson Architects, that belief guides every project they take on.

As the firm continues to grow, its leadership has been careful to expand with intention rather than speed. A handful of strategic hires in recent years has strengthened the team’s capabilities, allowing the firm to take on more complex projects while maintaining the hands-on approach that has defined it from the beginning.

“We feel like we’ve reached a sweet spot,” the team explains. “We’re large enough to deliver at a high level but small enough to stay closely involved with every client.” For Anderson Architects, success isn’t measured by headcount but by the strength and alignment of the people behind the work. The firm’s focus remains on elevating service and collaboration through a tightly connected team.

That philosophy carries directly into the types of projects the firm chooses to pursue— ones that strengthen the spiritual, physical, and mental well-being of the communities they serve.

One especially meaningful project has been their work with St. Philopateer Coptic Orthodox Church. The church serves as a cornerstone for the area’s Egyptian community, providing a place where families can worship, gather, and maintain cultural traditions. Designing a space that supports both faith and connection has been a deeply rewarding experience for the firm.

The team has also contributed to projects focused on physical wellness, including proposals for the Mt. Juliet Recreation Center that would add swimming lanes, indoor basketball courts, pickleball facilities, and a running track—features designed to serve residents of all ages.

Education and intellectual curiosity are equally important pillars of community life, and Anderson Architects has helped support both through projects such as expansion work for the Mt. Juliet Public Library and design work with Braingineers. These spaces provide opportunities for reading, learning, and gathering—essential ingredients for a thriving city.

A strong community focus also shapes the firm’s internal culture. When hiring new team members, technical skill is only part of the equation.

“We look for people who genuinely want to pour back into the community,” they say. “Generosity and a willingness to serve stand out just as much as design talent.”

That mindset naturally fuels creativity. When the goal extends beyond completing a project to strengthening the place where you live, the design process opens to more thoughtful, people-centered solutions.

Community engagement extends beyond the drafting table as well. Members of the firm stay actively involved through organizations like Everyone’s Wilson and Rotary International’s local Noon Rotary chapter. Owner Sam Anderson also founded a Leadership by the Book Bible study through the chamber, bringing together local professionals to explore the intersection of faith and leadership.

As the firm continues mentoring interns and welcoming fresh perspectives from new team members, the future feels bright.

Most exciting, the team says, is continuing to play a role in the thoughtful evolution of Mt. Juliet—a city they’ve watched grow from a small town into a vibrant destination.

Their goal remains simple: to create spaces that reflect the pride, connection, and character of the community they call home.

BUILDING THE NEXT GENERATION

At Anderson Architects, investing in the future of architecture is just as important as designing the present. Each year the firm welcomes summer interns, giving students hands-on experience inside a working design studio. From real project discussions to early design work, interns gain valuable insight while building confidence for the next step in their careers.

HOW TO DESIGN A RELAXING SPACE

INVESTING IN HOME DESIGN CAN GIVE YOU A PEACEFUL SANCTUARY WHERE YOU CAN ESCAPE FROM THE STRESSES OF DAILY LIFE. SO GO AHEAD, TAKE THE PLUNGE AND REVAMP YOUR LIVING SPACES – IT’S WORTH EVERY PENNY!

There are many things that can help a room feel relaxing, but let’s keep it simple and focus on my top three. I would say that one must incorporate good lighting, great textures, and a decluttered space to truly get the cozy vibes. Let’s tackle each.

GOOD LIGHTING

It is imperative that there are multiple sources of light in a space. A room needs a soft warm light, so I always like to use a light bulb between 2,700k and 3,000k. Also, and I see this so many times, all lights should have the same temperature light bulb to avoid clashing. It’s not enough to just have recessed or pendant lighting. I always add a table or floor lamp to a space to truly have ambient light.  Also, candles are a must for me. They can be scented candles (an extra way to add relaxation) or I like to use remote control tapered candles, so I don’t have to worry about cleaning up wax later.

GREAT TEXTURES

Textures are seen in toss pillows, rugs, draperies, throw blankets and furniture upholstery. Textures add color, pattern and visual interest. I like to use at least three different textures to help a room feel lived-in and welcoming.

DECLUTTERING

So many times, a person thinks that every nook and cranny and every wall need to have something, and this is not the case. A decluttered space is actually more relaxing because overcrowding of items doesn’t quiet the mind. Decluttering a space can be overwhelming, I get it, so just do it in stages. You’ll love the outcome when the room is tidy, organized and you are only surrounded with what brings you joy.

An unforgettable Stay at Sanctuary by the Sea

Family MEMORIES Meet the Gulf

ARTICLE
COAST
COAST & CO. PHOTOGRAPHY BY NEWMAN-DAILEYVANTAGE 360 MEDIA

“AT SANCTUARY BY THE SEA, Luxury ISN’T JUST IN THE Amenities —IT’S IN THE UNHURRIED Moments SPENT TOGETHER AS Family.”

Tucked along Florida’s iconic 30A corridor, Sanctuary by the Sea feels less like a vacation rental and more like a place where time slows just enough for families to reconnect. From the moment you arrive, the rhythm of daily life shifts—phones are set down, shoes are kicked off, and the Gulf breeze becomes the soundtrack to your days.

Set across 23 pristine acres between a rare coastal dune lake and the shimmering Gulf, the property offers a rare blend of natural beauty and refined comfort. Blue Mountain Beach provides the backdrop, where sugar-white sand and emerald water create the kind of scenery that feels almost cinematic. Scenic Highway 30A stretches nearby, connecting charming beach towns like Grayton Beach and Seaside, yet Sanctuary itself feels blissfully tucked away from it all.

For families, the experience is effortless. Mornings begin with coffee on the balcony while the sun rises over the water. Days unfold slowly—pool hopping between the resort’s three pools, kayaking along the peaceful dune lake, or wandering the scenic trail that leads straight to the beach.

Inside the residences, thoughtful design makes it easy to settle in. Spacious living areas, chef-ready kitchens, and expansive windows create an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and comfortably lived-in.  It’s the kind of place where family dinners linger longer than usual and evenings often end gathered on the balcony, watching the last light disappear over the Gulf.

What makes Sanctuary by the Sea truly unforgettable isn’t just the setting—it’s the way the property invites you to be present. The laughter around the pool, the sandy footprints through the hallway, the quiet morning walks to the shoreline.

For families seeking both serenity and connection, Sanctuary by the Sea delivers something rare: a destination that feels like a retreat, yet somehow also feels like home.
