"Love yourself first, everything else falls into place." - Lucille Ball
I don’t know about you but I love any opportunity to recognize the women in my life who just make life more rich and beautiful. I don't take the role of a "girl mama," very lightly but I also don't take myself too seriously. Life is meant to be fully lived and enjoy all the good, bad, and struggles. I look forward to so many lessons I've learned to share with my girls as they go through life, but I also take the time to make solid memories with them so when they look back at their childhood, they have both the tools to get through hard days and the memories to move forward and know what it means to really enjoy life.
I surely would not be half the mother I am without my mother, my grandmothers, and my aunts who raised me, sharing their life experiences with me too. I cherish every wise woman who has ever crossed my path and given me nuggets of wisdom, even the famous, Lucille Ball. I have always looked up to women of influence. I also cherish the support of a good man who has always pushed me to be the best version of myself, my husband.
And of course, with Mother’s Day this month, all eyes are on moms… But it’s not just the biological mothers but the mother figures in our lives who have made an indelible impact on us. It’s the family members, teachers, friends, and neighbors doing awesome things in our communities, pouring into our lives - making themselves unforgettable and irreplaceable.
This is the perfect month to patronize businesses owned by women in our communities. That’s one of my favorite parts of this role - connecting with and championing the best of the best when it comes to Mount Juliet women.
They are movers and shakers, builders and makers. They are both seen and unseen. Their silent service blesses those who are under their care. Their attention to detail shows us something about beauty that can’t be seen or understood any other way.
We hope you take the time this month to honor those women in your life who have made a deep impact on your life.
Cheers to 3 Years, proudly serving our community!

The Actress Next Door
ARTICLE BY COURTNEY STOCKTON AND SOPHIA DELILAH PHOTOGRAPHY BY GLYNIS CARPENTER
Erin Cahill is an actress who has won the hearts of many adoring fans through her wide and varied work in film and television (chances are you recognize her either as the pink Power Ranger or from the many Lifetime or Hallmark movies she’s starred in).
Cahill was born and raised in Virginia, went to school in New York, pursued her career in LA, and now calls Nashville her home. Read on to learn more about our superstar neighbor.
ERIN CAHILL SHARES
HER BACKGROUND, CAREER HIGHLIGHTS, AND WHY SHE LOVES LIVING IN NASHVILLE.

“LIVING IN NASHVILLE IS FANTASTIC. A BIG CITY, BUT SOMEHOW IT FEELS LIKE SUCH A COMMUNITY AND SO INTIMATE. I LOVE THE PEOPLE AND NATURE.”
(1) HOW DID YOU GET INTO ACTING AND HOW YOUNG WERE YOU WHEN YOU GOT YOUR FIRST GIG?
I started acting when I was four years old. I got so lucky because my mom was teaching and directing theater at a local high school and needed a child for two places. Ever since I did that first play, I decided that’s what I wanted to do with my life! I started doing theater and got into film and television when I was a teenager. I moved to Los Angeles when I was 19 and got my first job as a Power Ranger when I was 20. I’m so grateful for it to have been my job ever since!
(2) WHAT HAS BEEN ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE PROJECTS AND WHY?
Oh my goodness, there are so many answers to that question. The first one that comes to mind is the first series regular and the job that kicked off my career –Power Rangers! Getting to play the pink Power Ranger was iconic and to this day, I have the very best fans in the world from it.
(3) IF YOU COULD SPEAK TO YOUNGER GIRLS ABOUT YOUR CAREER, WHAT ARE SOME TIPS OR ADVICE YOU WOULD LEND?
I absolutely love this question. I would say that a long career will have peaks and valleys. I have found that in order to ride those waves, having faith and belief will get you through – faith and belief in yourself and your path.
(4) WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR CAREER IN 5 YEARS?
I see myself working and growing, with gratitude and joy. Also, producing and telling great stories from both sides of the camera.
(5) HOW DO YOU LIKE LIVING IN NASHVILLE AND WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE SPOTS?
Living in Nashville is fantastic. A big city, but somehow it feels like such a community and so intimate. I love the people and love the nature. I love the East

Erin Cahill
WHERE HAVE YOU SEEN HER?
Looking at her filmography, the more appropriate question is, where haven’t you seen her? She’s had parts in big films, such as The Pursuit of Happyness, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 & 3, The Watcher, and two of the latest installments of Resident Evil (Vendetta and Death Island). As for television, if you don’t know her as the pink Power Ranger from Power Rangers Time Force, surely you would have seen her in Cold Case, CSI: Miami, Supernatural, How I Met Your Mother, Grey’s Anatomy, General Hospital, Monk, The Mentalist, House, or Bones. She’s also starred in a bevy of Lifetime and Hallmark movies. In addition to being seen in movies and television, she can be heard in several video games, including 2012’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
Side and Shelby Park, and also love venturing outside the city to explore the woods and find bodies of water. And, I could talk all day about the bars and restaurants!
(6) RANDOM RAPIDFIRE QUESTIONS
• Favorite drink? Sparkling water, followed closely by a martini!
• Favorite Hallmark movie? I honestly can’t choose. It’s like picking a favorite child! But so far the ones that are the dearest to my heart would be the ones I produced. They are truly my babies!
• Favorite dinner spot? Our go-to whenever we have guests in town is Butcher & Bee! It was one of the first reasons I fell in love with Nashville.
• What is one of your nicknames? Sometimes my friends call me by my last name, Cahill. And my husband and I call each other, ‘Charlie,’ so that’s what a lot of our friends know us as too.
• Who is your hero? My mom, my dad, and my grandma.

Capturing MOTHERHOOD
LEIGH ANN REMKE PHOTOGRAPHY CAPTURES
MOTHERHOOD IN ITS TRUE AND AUTHENTIC FORM
ARTICLE BY COURTNEY STOCKTON
INSPIRED BY | PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
Leigh Ann Remke
24
PHOTOGRAPHY BY LEIGH ANN REMKE PHOTOGRAPH Y
The term ‘family photos’ calls to mind images of matching outfits, unnatural poses, and forced smile. That’s why Leigh Ann Remke Photography’s motherhood sessions are a breath of fresh air. In addition to being visually striking, they possess a raw, strippeddown quality that is refreshingly authentic. Perhaps that’s because this is Remke’s talent as a photographer. As a mother of three, she’s acutely attuned to what her clients want – and need – in a family photo session. Remke explains, “I feel like a lot
of people feel like they have to come to these sessions, and they have to perform. But how do we make sure that we make them feel comfortable and that they have fun, and that they make this a memorable experience? It’s more than just a picture on a shelf. I want to help these families create memories together.” And so, Remke doesn’t prod her clients into forced positions and fake expressions. Knowing their mercurial nature, she instead allows the children to take the lead, which lets both their personality and the connection they have with their mothers emanate through the lens. The result of which is both an
indelible family memory, and photos that reflect the true and individualized nature of a mother’s connection with her children. And if Remke’s ability to do this seems otherworldly, perhaps that’s because she felt she truly was called to do this – leaving behind a promising corporate career to do so. “I knew that my work would outlast me and them and it would extend on for generations,” she says. Gazing at her motherhood series and larger body of work, it’s hard to argue with that. Much like a good writer writes what they know, Remke photographs a mother’s love with the skill only a loving mother could.

Brooke Tometich with her husband and children.

While it may be a gender stereotype to believe that women are great at multi-tasking, Brooke Tometich does a pretty good job of lending credence to that assumption. She’s a wife, mother, marketing director, cheer coach, and co-founder of NaSHEville, LLC.
NaSHEville is an apparel company, but it’s also the culmination of many life experiences and pieces of Tometich’s heart. The brand was designed with a purpose in mind, which was to give back to orphans, widows, and trafficked women.
And for Tometich, that mission is deeply personal. She started working in Network Marketing over 12 years ago, and through this experience, she connected with many families who, as she puts it, were “made complete by adoption.” This laid the foundation for Tometich and her husband to decide that this was the way that they wanted to complete their family (with a previously born son) as well. She reflects, “We felt a huge tug from the Lord to adopt and were matched with a perfect little girl the day after we went officially active in the adoption system.” And though the Tometich’s adoption story was initially seamless, she describes a point at which it became a struggle – which ultimately served as motivation. “This is when I fell straight to my knees and surrendered everything to the Lord. I knew what I was meant to do with my life – ministry with teenage girls and do everything I could to bring awareness and help babies get adopted.”
This was the impetus for NaSHEville. Tometich was able to utilize her marketing savvy, her passion for “speaking life into women” (which she had done both by leading life groups at church and by being a hairstylist –to which she quips, “we all know our hairstylists are our therapists”), and her appreciation of art/fashion. She joined forces with Mattie Jackson, who is the writer and
voice of the NaSHEville blog (as well as being responsible for ‘all things logistics’). Tragically, one month before the launch, the mission of NaSHEville became personal for Jackson, when her husband passed away from a traumatic brain injury and she was widowed in her 20s. With their mission all the more clear, they launched in 2018. “We have been able to connect with so many organizations that have given their life's work to help orphans, widows and trafficked women.”
These organizations include Love One Int, End Slavery TN (now known as AnchoraTN), Modern Widows Club, Never Alone Widows, and all local foster care agencies. Through the experience of launching their brand and partnering with these charitable organizations, Tometich and Jackson have been able to give back through their clothing sales, host drives, and bring awareness to these worthy causes. “We always said we didn't want to reinvent the wheel because there were already so many great organizations doing the work, we just wanted to be at the center of the wheel and help connect everyone to an audience!”
Therefore, with an eye towards the future, Tometich and Jackson are currently working on evolving and reshaping NaSHEville, with more of a focus on a nonprofit side (which they’re calling ‘She’s In The City’) to host events and give back to the community. “We hope to be able to expand to so many other cities and encourage women everywhere to get involved with nonprofits.” And if there’s anybody who’s up to that task, it’s Tometich.

“Ice cream transcends demographics and is just a timeless classic.”
Your father owned Puckett’s Grocery in Leiper’s Fork which is where you began your involvement with the food industry. Since then, you’ve definitely put your time in, ultimately resulting in the opening of Hattie Jane’s Creamery with several locations around Tennessee.
HOW DID YOUR LOVE OF THE BUSINESS LEAD TO THIS UNIQUE ICE CREAM EXPERIENCE? Ice cream was woven into my childhood both inside and outside of the restaurants. It was always our celebratory treat, or what we sought out on beach vacations. We also scooped tons of ice cream in the summers in Leiper’s Fork, and frequently had our Amish friends churning homemade peach ice cream on Saturdays outside the market. Ice cream transcends demographics and is just a timeless classic.
WHAT ARE SOME CHALLENGES YOU’VE FACED WHILE STARTING, RUNNING AND GROWING A FEMALE OWNED AND LED BUSINESS?
There are plenty of challenges with starting, running, and growing any business. I don’t think most of my challenges have anything to do with being female owned and led. If anything, I have enjoyed the connections I’ve made with other women in the same boat as me, and I live for the camaraderie that I have with my female business partners.
HOW HAS BEING A WOMAN IN BUSINESS SHAPED YOU AND YOUR FAMILY? It means a lot of preparation and communication to make it all happen. Every Sunday, my husband and I take a few minutes to look at the week ahead and discuss pickups, extracurriculars, meals, etc., and I write down all that on a giant magnetic weekly calendar that goes on the fridge.
I hope that I’m setting a positive example for my daughters of what it means to run a business and have a career while also having a family. I don’t expect them to choose to do either one or both necessarily, but I do want them to know that it’s possible. Even more so, I want them to know that they have the ability to choose what they do and how they do it.
DO YOUR DAUGHTERS HAVE AN INTEREST IN THE RESTAURANT INDUSTRY AS WELL? WHAT INSIGHT DO YOU HOPE TO PASS ALONG TO THEM AS A SUCCESSFUL FEMALE BUSINESS OWNER? Hattie is currently 10, and Eliza is 7 so they are both very interested in everything Mom does. I expect that to change at some point in the next few years, but right now it’s fun to be able to have more in-depth conversations about what is going on in the business as they get older. Hattie does love to cook, and she especially loves to bake. I have no desire to obligate either of them to work in the business, but I do hope to pass on a strong work ethic and resourcefulness.

Lakeside ISR
Infant Swimming Resource Expert, Kristina Richie, Shares Top Swim-Safety Tips
ARTICLE BY KRISTINA RICHIE PHOTOGRAPHY BY KIMBERLEE BROOKE & CO
Pool and beach season is here! However, with this comes risks – in fact, drowning is the number one cause of death for children under 5, and the second leading cause of death for children under 15, according to the CDC. Keep your children safe year-round with these water safety tips:
USE MULTIPLE LAYERS OF PROTECTION:
• Constant supervision - always have an adult “water watcher.” No phones or conversations with others. Switch out every 15 minutes.
• Install a pool fence.
• Locks and alarms on doors/windows.
• Don’t rely on flotation devices, enroll your child in high-quality swim lessons as early as possible.
• Choose brightly colored bathing suits.
• Remove pool toys after use.
• Wear USCG-approved life jackets in open water.
• Learn CPR.
WHEN TRAVELING:
• Choose vacation rentals with pool fences.
• Bring a personal pool alarm or stick-on door/ window alarms.
• Be aware of rip currents at the beach.
Sometimes layers can fail, which is why swim skills are crucial in preventing fatal drownings. Kristina Richie is a certified Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) instructor and owner of Lakeside ISR. Lakeside ISR offers SelfRescue swim lessons for children ages 6 months through 6 years in Mount Juliet and Lebanon. For more water safety or lesson information, visit www.lakesideisr.com

STAGING TO SELL
Contrary to what you’ve heard, staging isn’t just for luxury homes. It can benefit any type of property and entice the right buyers. Not only does staging make your listing photos more appealing, but it also allows buyers to easily picture themselves living in your home. But here’s the real kicker: staging can increase your home’s value by 1-5%,
according to a 2023 report from the NAR. And the best part? You don’t need to spend a fortune on professional staging to see results. As an agent, I’ve picked up some tips and tricks that can help you get your home ready. From decluttering to rearranging furniture, even small changes can make a big difference.
“YOU DON’T NEED TO SPEND A FORTUNE ON PROFESSIONAL STAGING TO SEE RESULTS.”
1. CREATE FOCAL POINTS
Identify the key feature in each room. Is it a fireplace? A large window with a great view? Once identified, arrange your furniture and decor to highlight these features. For example, if it’s a fireplace, position the chairs and couch to face it. If you don’t have a clear focal point, create one. This could be as simple as a large piece of art or a statement piece of furniture.
2. DEPERSONALIZE YOUR SPACE
Start by walking through each room in your home and removing all personal items, such as family photos, unique artwork, and any other items that clearly identify the space as yours. Replace these with neutral artwork or simple decor pieces that can be found at local thrift stores or budget-friendly home goods shops.
3. ENHANCE YOUR CURB APPEAL
Dedicate a weekend to boost your home’s exterior attractiveness. Rent a power washer to clean your driveway and sidewalks. Invest in some colorful, low-maintenance plants to place around your front entryway. If you have a porch, consider adding a couple of chairs and a small table to create an inviting outdoor seating area.
