Relationship Foundation of VA Holds Third Annual Father Figure Event

The Relationship Foundation of VA held its Third Annual Father Figure event honoring great dads in our community on Sept. 29. It was held at Richmond Raceway at Victory Lane and was the ultimate "Party in the Pits." Great food, drinks, silent auctions and dancing were all a part of the night to raise funds for their fatherhood initiatives. Jonathan Kennedy was named Father Figure 2018, JJ White was named the Funding Father of the Year and Marty Coleman was named the Grandfather Figure. United for UNOS 10th Annual Soirée, Richmond’s premier fall event, was held Oct. 5 at UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) headquarters. Featuring specialty dishes from Richmond's top restaurants and caterers, the event was a celebration of 2018's Stories of Transplantation including organ recipients, living donors, donor families and transplant professionals. Home Building Association of Richmond Holds Its Annual Golf Tournament

The Home Building Association of Richmond held its annual Blue Jacket Invitational Golf Tournament Oct. 15. HBAR's membership is a family. On Sept. 17, Old Dominion Flooring Company in Midlothian was in the path of one of several tornadoes spurned by Hurricane Florence, and they lost one of their own: Mr. Ronnie Bishop. All charitable funds collected from this event will go to benefit his family after this tragedy.

Celebrating 30 years of serving up some of the best food and fun in Virginia, the Magnificent Midlothian Food Festival presented by Wegmans featured plates from area restaurants, live music, drinks, local vendors and more. HUGUENOT VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTER REVITALIZATION PLANNED Huguenot Village Shopping Center, at the intersection of Huguenot and Robious Road, is getting an overhaul, with a rumored Publix going in as the main anchor. Other changes being proposed in a plan filed Oct. 12 with the county are to raze much of the existing attached shopping center, with the exception of Williams & Sherrill, and rebuild just over 4,000 square feet of retail space between the anchor store and Williams & Sherrill. Additionally, more than 200 parking spaces would be added as well as extensive landscaping.
