CONCRETE RAISING & LEVELING
CRACK & JOINT REPAIR
SURFACE PROTECTION
PolyLevel™ is an environmentally friendly, strong high-density polyurethane foam that is injected underneath concrete slabs through tiny ports about the size of a dime. PolyLevel™ raises sunken areas and compacts the soil underneath. It cures quickly and will not degrade over time.
NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks preventing water from flowing underneath the concrete slab. Specially formulated against harsh weather conditions, NexusPro resists UV rays: it won’t crack, bubble, or dry out. A single application can protect your concrete for years to come.
SealantPro is a state-of-the-art waterproofing seal that prevents water from seeping into the pores of concrete, permanently protecting it from water, dirt and other contaminants in a single coat. Once applied, SealantPro dries in minutes and is fully cured in just 6 hours.

THE NEGRONI STOPS HERE THE NEGRONI HAS MUCH IN COMMON WITH MEN. It is a simple yet complex, bitter yet sweet cocktail that is a staple in bars around the world. Invented in Florence, Italy in 1919, legend has it that Count Camillo Negroni asked a bartender to strengthen his favorite cocktail (the Americano) by replacing soda water with gin. After also adding an orange garnish, one of the most iconic cocktails of all time was born. This classic cocktail is made with equal parts sweet vermouth, Campari (an alcoholic
spirit
infused
with bitter
herbs, fruit, and aromatics plants), and Old Boise Gin, and garnished with an orange peel. Designed as an apertif, it’s the perfect drink before a good meal. Or, when paired with your favorite cigar or pipe tobacco, is ideal for a summer evening. Cheers!

“You may have to go to a barn and fight chickens,” Debbie Smith said of one memorable purchase. As the museum has gained popularity, people often reach out when selling games. “They like the idea that their machine can come and live here,” Dwayne Smith said. While UGC isn’t a repair shop, they’ve picked up some tricks. That was on display as Dwayne Smith and Fellows diagnosed Judge Dredd’s broken flipper, opening the game to find a busted spring. “These machines are 40-50 years old, so things just wear out,” Fellows said. “The very first time we turned (Capt. Card) on, smoke came out the back,” Dwayne Smith said.
Curious about which game is best? Debbie Smith suggested, “Play every machine and find out what you like, because you might be surprised.” As for the trio, while favorite games were hard to pick, favorite features were easy. “I absolutely love spinners,” Dwayne Smith said. “They’re so satisfying to hit.” “I like games that have the old-fashioned chimes in them,” Debbie Smith said. “The jump rope on Champion Pub is pretty cool,” Fellows said, referencing the boxing-themed game where you ‘jump’ a pinball over a rotating metal ‘rope.’ “Every game has some sort of character like that.” “Play something that calls to you,” Dwayne Smith said.

MERIDIAN HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL COACH JEFF SANOR LEADS HIS TEAM TO WIN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
THERE IS A HEART-RENDING SCENE IN THE 1986 BASKETBALL MOVIE, HOOSIERS. Right before the championship game the players claim an intention to win the state title for all the small schools that couldn’t be here. This message strikes a universal chord about the possibility of triumph for all the underdogs in the world. It’s in this same vein that Coach Jeff Sanor credits the Meridian High School basketball team for their recent championship victory. Sanor is referring to the 2021 5A State Title that Meridian High School claimed this year; an accomplishment fraught with grit and determination after going up against schools with larger populations. “Meridian just perseveres. We keep coming back and giving those others schools a run, and we did it again this year which was great!”

According to Sanor the Meridian Basketball

components:

Sportsmanship;

Citizenship; Competitive
Excellence. Sanor explains, “We center everything we do around these pillars. Citizenship: ‘Always striving to do things the right way and setting a great example for others’. Sportsmanship: ‘Honoring the game of basketball at all times.’ And Competitive Excellence: ‘Bringing our very best to whatever we do’.” These three pillars are not left out on the court. “I’m teaching kids how to compete, and basketball is the platform that I get to use. If they learn how to compete they can go into any arena, whether its sports or business. They have a really good idea of what it’s going to take to accomplish what they want to accomplish.” Idaho native Sanor has strong roots in the Treasure Valley. A Boise High graduate (two-time conference and state player of the year), he continued his sports legacy playing at both the University of Washington and Boise State University. As a former student athlete, Sanor developed his coaching chops after reconnecting with former coaches, and at a local youth basketball club, Boise Slam, before entering the high school coaching arena. “As a high school coach one of the things I’ve learned is that everybody’s situation is different. Kids nowadays are dealing with so much more than I ever dealt with at their age. There’s so much outside pressure. Every family is different, and every one of these kids is facing their own personal challenges. Quite honestly, it’s admirable how they try to not let it affect their goals.”
28
Meridian Lifestyle | June 2021
Juggling coaching, work, and family is a task that Sanor takes to heart, especially being a coach and a dad, a role that can be difficult to navigate but one that he has sage words to offer. “I give this advice to other coaches who are
letting their parents down. It’s important not to blur the lines between coaching and parenting.” Now that Sanor has firmly placed Meridian back in its rightful place, what are his plans for next year?

A NA LY Z I NG TH E M A R K E T WHAT ARE THE MOST CRITICAL SKILLS YOU BRING TO YOUR WORK? I’m not afraid to have tough conversations. I have done — or can do — every job function within the company, which has given me perspective on our employees and their challenges and the goals they want to achieve. I’m not opposed or unwilling to get in the trenches and do what needs to be done, whether that’s making deliveries, answering the phone, facilitating signings, or doing workups. And I have an ability to understand numbers and how they impact our operation. After 26 years in this industry, I can analyze trends and predict where the market is going. HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS, PERSONALLY AND PROFESSIONALLY? Personally, contentment and happiness are one and the same for me. If my work is taken care of and I’m at home, I’m happy — and vice versa. That life balance comes from knowing my family is provided for monetarily, emotionally, and physically.
WHAT ARE SOME CAUSES YOU CARE ABOUT?

My wife will tell you that I have a mind filled with movie lines. If I see a movie once, those lines are stuck in there forever. I also love two activities that allow my brain to shut off: golf and glass blowing. Both require intense focus and concentration and allow me to see problems and opportunities from different angles. It’s very rewarding to focus like that. 36

Protect your family from fighting Family dynamics are already complicated, and adding money to the mix can be explosive. An estate plan stops trouble before it starts by ensuring that your assets are handled, divided, and managed in the way that you intended. It’s also critical to plan for an orderly transfer of assets for unforeseen circumstances such as incapacitation.

NEARLY EVERYONE CAN
Without a will, state law will determine what happens to your property, bank accounts, assets, and even your children. This may lead to long court battles and financial hardship for your loved ones. By understanding your objectives and assessing all the potential risks to your assets, an estate plan can help to safeguard your interests, your family, and their future.
