Home. Just four letters, yet it holds so much meaning. It’s our sanctuary, our foundation and the place where life unfolds. Home is where we begin and end each day, where our lives take shape and where our hearts find rest. While the specifics of what “home” looks like vary for each of us, its significance is universal.

Author Wendy Wunder captured it perfectly: “The magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back.” With that in mind, this month’s issue focuses on what makes home special — from thoughtfully designed spaces to the people who bring it all to life.
This month, we had the privilege of connecting with local businesses and individuals who shape this community. Their stories highlight the creativity, resilience and heart that make this area feel like home. We hope that as you turn these pages, you’ll be inspired to strengthen your connections — whether within your neighborhood, your city or your own walls.
Many of our readers tell us they hold onto this magazine long after the month on its cover, treasuring it as a piece of home — whether as coffee table art or a source of inspiration. That’s a tradition we’re proud to uphold, and we remain committed to delivering the value you expect each month.
Thank you for welcoming us into your homes. Here’s to making this March a celebration of the spaces and people that matter most.
Until next month,
March 2026

Don’t settle for a plain concrete floor that lacks the personality found throughout the rest of your home. A professionally coated and finished floor adds personality, durability and lasting performance — transforming an ordinary space into something you’re proud of. That’s where Fantastic Floors by Miller Custom Exteriors comes in.
Fantastic Floors was born from a simple observation: too many garage floors and concrete coatings don’t hold up. After discovering a high-performing, standout coating at one client’s house, Miller Custom Exteriors co-owner Lorin Miller reached out to the manufacturer and launched Fantastic Floors — bringing that same flawless finish and long-lasting durability to his own customers.
The passion behind Fantastic Floors runs deep. Miller Custom Exteriors, one of the nation’s oldest seamless siding installation companies, has been a family affair since 1964, when founder Jacob Miller Jr. began building pole buildings in Wooster. Jacob then went on to open Benton Builders in 1976, which eventually became Miller Custom Exteriors in 2008. Today, the company is carried forward by brothers Ed and Lorin Miller, alongside other family members — continuing a tradition of craftsmanship built over generations. With a legacy built on skill and care, Fantastic Floors carries forward the Miller family tradition — this time underfoot. Each project is approached with the same meticulous

attention to detail that has defined the family’s craftsmanship for generations, ensuring every floor reflects both heritage and precision.
Offering bespoke floor coating services for porches, basements, garages and commercial spaces alike, Fantastic Floors pairs refined aesthetics with enduring performance. These expertly applied coatings enhance durability, preserve rich color without fading or yellowing and elevate safety through thoughtfully integrated slip-resistant textures. The result is a surface that is effortlessly maintained, beautifully finished and designed to perform as elegantly as it looks.
What’s more, is that Fantastic Floors has a large variety of color choices, so you’ll no longer be limited to concrete’s greige hue. Some of our favorites include:
• Tidal Wave: A soft blend of greys, whites and pale blues.
• Mount Everest: A unique combination of both light and dark greys, tan and white.

• Pecan: A warm blend of tan, brown, black, white and pops of red. Additional colors are available, as well as opportunities for custom colors.
Once you’ve selected your color, the process of getting your floor coated with Fantastic Floors can be broken down into six simple steps:
1. Preparation: Your existing concrete floor gets some well-deserved TLC with a 600-pound diamond grinder, equipped with a sealed HEPA vacuum to keep dust to an absolute minimum.
2. Concrete reconstruction: Cracked and pitted areas are cleaned out, then filled with a mender repair liquid and ground smooth.

3. Basecoat application: Fantastic Floors applies a tinted polyurea base coat that is four times more durable than epoxy.
4. Broadcasting the chip: UV stable vinyl flakes are added to give added texture and enhance the appearance of your floor.
5. Scraping the chip: Your floor is scraped and vacuumed to reclaim excess vinyl flakes.
6. Topcoat: A 100% UV stable polyaspartic topcoat is applied.
Once your floor is complete, it’s ready to be enjoyed almost immediately. Within 12 hours, it can be walked on; after 24 hours, it’s strong enough to support heavy furniture and equipment; and in just 48 hours, it’s fully cured and ready to accommodate vehicle traffic. Every project includes a written, lifetime warranty for peeling, blistering and chipping.

ARTICLE BY ERIN BAKA PHOTOGRAPHY BY HOME SWEET HOME REMODELING
Known for transforming houses into highly personalized, functional and beautifully designed homes, Home Sweet Home Remodeling has been a trusted name in Northeast Ohio since 2008. Built on a foundation of craftsmanship, innovation and meticulous attention to detail, the design-build firm specializes in high-quality renovations that reflect both the lifestyle and vision of today’s homeowners. From kitchens and bathrooms to full-home remodels, Home Sweet Home combines expert construction with advanced 3D design renderings, allowing clients to see their ideas come to life long before construction begins.
At the heart of the company is owner and general contractor Ric SirLouis, whose leadership and industry experience set Home Sweet Home apart from its competitors. With a background that includes record-setting performance for a top Northeast Ohio home builder and service in multiple leadership roles within local and national home building associations, Ric brings precision, predictability and creativity to every project. His training in photography and design further elevates the firm’s renderings and planning process, ensuring clients receive a clear, accurate vision and a finished space that exceeds expectations.
That commitment was recently on full display in a custom remodel completed in Bath Township, where Home Sweet Home delivered a space entirely tailored to the homeowner’s needs and lifestyle. This was not a cookie-cutter renovation, but a fully customized transformation designed from the ground up. From cabinetry and layout to finishes and functionality, every detail was intentional.
The Bath Township homeowner originally had a space rooted firmly in mid-1990s style and function — once practical, but no longer aligned with how they lived or how they wanted their home to feel. Over time, their tastes evolved, as did their expectations for how the kitchen and adjoining eating areas should function on a daily basis.
One of the home’s most remarkable features had long been underutilized: a beautiful lake view just beyond the windows. With that in mind, Home Sweet Home reimagined the layout to make the view a central design focal point, ensuring sightlines, seating and flow were all oriented toward the water. Every step of the transformation was thoughtfully planned and fully rendered in 3D, allowing the homeowner to see and feel the future of their remodel before construction even began.
Color and function throughout the remodel were entirely custom, carefully layered to create both distinction and cohesion. Wallpaper played a key role in connecting the kitchen and surrounding spaces, tying color palettes together while still giving each area its own personality, mood and purpose. The result is a home that flows effortlessly from room to room — unified yet never repetitive.
The space is now both timeless and fresh, a balance evidenced by classic color palettes, including rich blues, along with character hickory wood and walnut finishes that add warmth and authenticity.
Character hickory is prized for its natural variation, featuring distinctive grain patterns, knots, mineral streaks and tonal

contrast that give each piece depth and individuality. No two boards are alike, and that natural beauty brings a sense of history and craftsmanship into a modern setting, creating rooms that feel inviting, lived-in and enduring.
Slate flooring grounds the space with texture and durability, adding a sense of timeless elegance. A creatively designed butler’s pantry elevates the home even further, blending beauty and function while offering thoughtful storage and workflow that feel both intentional and luxurious.
To bring this and many more visions to life, Home Sweet Home curates work from exceptionally talented craftspeople and lighting specialists such as Lumen Nation and Hubbardton Forge, along with skilled Amish builders who collaborate directly with Ric to design one-of-a-kind furniture and custom elements. This approach aligns with Home Sweet Home’s core belief that a remodel is about more than updating a room — it’s about creating a space that gives homeowners everything they’ve ever wanted, without compromise.
As a true design-build general contractor, Home Sweet Home Remodeling brings vision, planning and execution together under one roof, ensuring every detail — from initial concept to final finish — is intentional and expertly delivered. The Bath Township remodel stands as a testament to that integrated approach, where design excellence and skilled craftsmanship work in perfect harmony. The homeowner spared no expense in creating the remodeled home of their dreams, investing in custom features, premium materials and thoughtful design at every turn. The result is a home so distinctive and well executed that it will be entered into a national designbuild competition — an achievement that reflects not only exceptional aesthetics, but also the precision, collaboration and passion that define Home Sweet Home.

Northeast Ohio Staple is Lighting the Way for a Bright Future
ett and Amanda McWilliams

Rooted in hometown pride and guided by decades of expertise, Medina Lighting is entering a new era; one defined by thoughtful design, elevated service and a renewed commitment to the community.
Originally established in 2013, Medina Lighting has long been a staple in Northeast Ohio. In January 2025, longtime Ohio residents Brett and Amanda McWilliams took ownership of the business with a shared vision: to build upon its strong foundation and transform it into a true one-stop destination for residential and commercial lighting.
Brett brings more than 25 years of experience in construction, having overseen the development of hotels, assisted living communities, multifamily developments and more than one million square feet of office and retail space. Throughout his career, lighting was a critical element of every project. Amanda complements that expertise with 25 years in sales and project management, where she honed a talent for helping clients complete large-scale projects while reflecting their personal style. Together, they combine technical knowledge with an eye for design — an approach that now defines Medina Lighting.
At its core, Medina Lighting is driven by a passion for lighting that doesn’t simply fill a room, but transforms it. Brett and Amanda believe lighting should act as the jewelry of the home — adding elegance and personality to every space.
The showroom features a carefully curated selection of residential and commercial lighting, statement chandeliers, custom architectural fixtures, outdoor lighting, heaters, lamps, permanent holiday lighting, smart home integrations

and Ring products. Representing more than 100 brands, the team offers solutions ranging from builder-grade essentials to fully custom, design-forward pieces. Further, monthly manufacturer promotions and seasonal product refreshes keep the showroom current and on trend, ensuring clients have access to the latest styles and innovations.
When working with Medina Lighting, clients can expect a boutique, hands-on
“WHEN WORKING WITH MEDINA LIGHTING, CLIENTS CAN EXPECT A BOUTIQUE, HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH. AMANDA AND BRETT WORK CLOSELY WITH HOMEOWNERS, DESIGNERS, ARCHITECTS AND BUILDERS WHO VALUE DETAIL,
experience from start to finish. Amanda and Brett work closely with homeowners, designers, architects and builders who value detail, craftsmanship and thoughtful design. From concept to installation, the process is fashioned to feel seamless and tailored to each client’s needs.
Speaking of installation, Medina Lighting offers white glove service with per-piece pricing rather than hourly rates. This distinction fosters greater transparency and fairness.
This year, Brett and Amanda’s focus is on growing Medina Lighting’s presence within the community they love. With an experienced team boasting more than 50 combined years in the industry, their goal is to continue raising the bar for service, selection and design in Northeast Ohio.
Outside of the showroom, Brett and Amanda are celebrating their 20-year anniversary and raising their 16-year-old son, Grant. When they’re not working, they enjoy traveling, hiking, boating, spending time with family and friends and playing with their French bulldog Bo.
With a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, a passion for design and a commitment to personalized service, Medina Lighting invites clients to come in, get inspired, and light up something truly beautiful.
