Our nationally certified hearth experts did a total fireplace makeover for Lisa and Dan in Medina. This charming couple love to entertain! They wanted an updated fireplace to fit the scale of their sizeable great room to complement their antiques and art collection.
We removed the old wood burner, grey stone surround, and outdated mantle, replacing them with a Heat-n-Glo® gas fireplace, a brighter new stone facade, and a barn beam mantle.
Remember that trendy 80s Southwest Adobe Style? We can help you create a timeless style you can love forever.
We added a Heat-n-Glo® gas fireplace. Along with the new stone facade and mantle, it adds warmth, interest, and beauty to their bedroom.
Cathy and Carl have a gorgeous and unique setting with large windows overlooking the tops of trees and a winding road in the background. They needed an effortless and safe solution to their old, unsafe wood stove.
We removed the old stone with thimble from an old wood stove and replaced it with stone to the ceiling, a new hearth, and installed a direct vent gas stove.

Summer fun is here!
I hope this letter finds you laying by the pool or lake and soaking in some much-needed Vitamin D.
As the days grow longer and the weather gets warmer, I find myself eagerly anticipating the arrival of summer. There's just something about this season that brings about a sense of excitement and adventure.
Sure, Fall has my favorite flavors and scents, Winter has its cozy charms and I can't deny the beauty of Spring. But when the Summer solstice rolls around, I’m more than ready for the long, languid days of sitting by the pool or floating on a boat.
The pages in our Summer Fun issue will help you make the most of this season in Medina County — from seasonal hairstyles to high speed action at Summer Motorsports Park. And even if Summer doesn't mean three months of summer vacation anymore (because we're, you know, adults), we can still look forward to an adventure by crossing things off our ultimate Summer bucket list and curling up with a new favorite beach read. (P.S. Teachers, you deserve this much-needed break!)
Just like this season has a way of bringing people together, we hope the pages inside this month’s issue will enrich and enliven your experience of Medina County this Summer!
Until next month,

TELL US MORE ABOUT BELLA SORRELLAS SALON AND SPA.
Growing up in a big Italian family, the bond between my sisters, Gina, Carla and myself was unbreakable. It was within this vibrant family environment that our journey into the world of beauty began. Our father, a talented barber, ignited our fascination with the artistry of hair and it was our strong Italian heritage that gave us the inspiration to start our salon. And so, Bella Sorrellas was born with a name that our father gave us and perfectly embodied who we were — beautiful sisters. We have been open for 16 total years and 10 years in the arcade. We moved our location a few times, but we have loved and been the most successful in the arcade.

STRENGTHENING OUR COMMUNITY ONE HOME AT A TIME
ARTICLE BY EMILY SHEA
Habitat for Humanity of Medina County has been building safe, healthy and affordable places for local residents to call home since 1991.
The nonprofit Christian housing ministry works to eliminate substandard housing by building and renovating simple, decent, affordable homes to sell to families with a zero interest mortgage. In addition, the organization is dedicated to constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; advocating for fair and just housing policies; and providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.
With these goals in mind, as well as an excellent board of directors, staff and volunteer workforce that work tirelessly to execute them, here are some of Medina County Habitat's impressive stats:
• 47 homes built since 1991
• 13,000 volunteer hours in 2022
• 300 volunteers in 2022
• 112 construction days in 2022
But these numbers are just one gauge of Medina Habitat's hard work and success, and we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that Medina Habitat's impact goes beyond its statistics. The organization's
work to create secure housing revitalizes neighborhoods, strengthens communities and fosters strong and stable households that are foundational to child growth and development.
One happy Habitat homeowner says, 'Words can not even express how in love I am with my house! I find myself just looking around when I'm at home and feeling overwhelmed with happy emotions. The memories I made working on the home with such amazing people are something I will cherish forever. Without Habitat for Humanity, I would never have been able to have such a beautiful home to make memories with my son!"
For more information about Medina Habitat and to learn about volunteer opportunities, visit MedinaCountyHabitat.org . If you're interested making a donation to the Habitat of Humanity ReStore at 233 Lafayette Rd., visit MedinaHabitat.org/How-ToHelp/Restore-Donations to learn more. In 1973, driven by an inexplicable attraction to the world of drag racing, Bill’s father made a bold decision that would forever change their lives. Despite possessing limited knowledge of the sport, he fearlessly acquired Summit Motorsports Park (originally opened in 1963) recognizing its untapped potential. Little did they know, that this leap of faith would spark a flame that would propel the track to extraordinary heights. As fate would have it, racing resonated with the Bader family.
Stepping into Summit Motorsports Park is like entering a world where safety, satisfaction and family-friendly fun intertwine seamlessly. With the Bader Family Guarantee in place, attending a race at this renowned track becomes an experience of utmost reassurance and comfort. Bill Bader wholeheartedly believes in this commitment, emphasizing, “You either are satisfied, or we will resolve it to your satisfaction.”

SÉRÉNITÉ RESTAURANT & CULINARY INSTITUTE
Sérénité Restaurant & Culinary Institute launched as a nonprofit in the spring of 2018. It's at the core of the Recovery Center program and offers a distinctive and innovative approach to addiction recovery, which encompasses a six-month training program, teaching techniques of classic French cuisine and high-quality restaurant service.
The program can accommodate up to 16 students at one time, who rotate through a curriculum that includes classes on all aspects of the culinary and hospitality industry, kitchen and culinary skills and front-of-house training. Many of the program participants are married and have children, and are seeking to live a sober life and to better provide for their families. Elevate Your Windows
ARTICLE BY JENNIFER TAMA | PHOTOGRAPHY BY GOTCHA COVERED
Window treatments are a crucial aspect of any design as they make a dramatic impact on the look and feel of any room. They can make a room feel bigger or smaller, add elegance or keep it cozy or add color or texture.
Window Treatments:
Hardware
When selecting hardware, it’s important to consider the style of your window treatments, as well as the overall aesthetic of your room. For example, if you have a modern-style window, a sleek metal rod and minimalistic hardware might be the best option. On the other hand, if you have a more traditional window, ornate finials and decorative brackets could be a great choice.

Color
Consider the style and color scheme of the room and decide if you want your window treatments to be a focal point or to be a complimentary backdrop to your décor. Don’t be afraid to play with patterns and colors! Soft window treatments like curtains, drapes, roman shades or cornices can be completely customized.

Materials
Materials
Start with what your needs are for the room and then begin choosing materials. If you have a small window, choosing long, flowy drapery can help make the room feel bigger. If you have a large window, consider using multiple panels or layering different materials and textures to add depth and interest. Layering different materials is a great way to achieve your desired look and function.
