THE FUTURE OF FLOORING IS NOW Epoxy flooring is popping up everywhere these days, and you don’t have to look very far to see it either. Joshua Poultney, owner of Emerald Finishing Group, says that the popularity of epoxy flooring has skyrocketed since he first started doing them — so much so, that it has now become a specialty niche for them, representing almost half of their business. “When I first started installing epoxy floors about seven years ago, we did maybe one or two floors a year for the first couple of years,” Josh says. “Today, we are doing them almost every other day.” The astonishing increase in volume can be attributed to the many advantages of epoxy flooring. The floors are seamless and liquidtight, durable, easy to clean, stain-resistant and sustainable. They are also extremely eye-catching and often make an artistic statement. The design possibilities are almost endless as well. With a large selection of epoxy decorative finishes, stains and colors to choose from, the floor can be smooth, glossy and reflective like glass or it can be textured and even rough like sandpaper. With an epoxy flooring system, one thing is for sure: no two floors are ever the same.

When someone loves something, their passion is contagious. This is how I know Scott and Kalie Bella of Bella’s Construction have a love for building and development. If those names sound familiar to you, your mind is not playing tricks on you — we published a story about Kalie and Scott’s gym, Phoenix Health and Fitness, in our February issue. This power couple owns both businesses and has a clear passion for both — although very different — industries. Scott and Kalie opened Bella’s Construction in 2019, but the inspiration for the business truly began when Scott was a young boy. It didn’t take long for him to realize that he wanted to create a larger, full-service construction company, which is when he started Bella’s Construction with Kalie. Seeing that Scott’s passion for construction really began with his family, it’s no surprise that he maintains strong family values within Bella’s Construction today. “We really pride ourselves on treating clients like family,” says Kalie. “We’re a small company but that really allows us to spend more time getting to know our clients. We understand that there are a lot of sentimental feelings that come up when someone decides to remodel the house they’ve lived in for over 35 years. Rick Wallace

Rick Wallace, owner of Wallace Home Furnishings, has spent his entire career in the furniture industry. After 17 years in the corporate furniture business, Rick learned which brands were of the highest quality and value and were worth his recommendation to his customers.
