"I have the best job in the world," declares one Frisco-headquartered reproductive endocrinologist. "It's amazing to see people grow their families, and wonderful to be able to help them." Dorette Noorhasan, M.D., is board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and serves as CCRM Fertility Dallas-Fort Worth’s medical director and co-founder at 8380 Warren Parkway, Ste. 201, in Frisco. "When there's nothing someone wants more than to start or grow their family, fertility issues are the most frustrating and heartbreaking obstacles to encounter. But fortunately, there is hope," she says.

As a fertility doctor who struggled through her own journey to motherhood, Dr. Noorhasan confirms she knows what it's like to be on both sides of an exam table and to walk that hard-to-navigate type of life path. Her most recent book, The Fertility Manual: Reproductive Options for Your Family, draws upon her unique bank of knowledge and experience to explore all the options. Known as one of the most qualified, experienced fertility specialists in North Texas, Dr. Noorhasan guides readers through fertility testing and treatments in language that's easy for those without a medical background

to follow and understand. "I equip you with the right tools and questions to bring to your doctor so you can continue on your journey to parenthood with strength and courage," she explains. Helping families blossom is what Dr. Noorhasan does best. As an OB-GYN with specialist training, she says she pours her energy and care into educating, encouraging, advising and supporting people who want to bring a new life into the world. Ironically, she herself didn't have an easy pregnancy. Dr. Noorhasan received her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from the University of the Virgin Islands and attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of Texas, Houston, and her fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Noorhasan consistently receives honors and awards acknowledging her achievements, including D Magazine Top Doctors in both Dallas and Collin counties, Texas Monthly Top Doctors, Mom-Approved Doctors by DFW Child Magazine, Collin County Top Doctors, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 Castle Connolly Top Doctors and Castle Connolly Top Doctors Exceptional Women in Medicine. The clinic also assists females facing cancer, who may want to preserve eggs to avoid them going through chemotherapy and other harsh medical treatments. Or, females who have planned a child or children for later in their lives. stablished in 1992, Love Life began as a grassroots initiative aimed at raising awareness about the challenges encountered by single mothers and children who suffer from poverty and abuse. “We are a small organization with a very small staff, but our big heart for giving has proven that if you multiply with peace, love and kindness, you can change the world, one community at a time,” says Maylee ThomasFuller, Love Life Foundation co-founder. Over the years, Love Life Foundation has collaborated with various organizations, including Genesis Women’s Shelter, Collin County Advocacy Center, CASA, McKinney ISD, Geary Girls Ranch, Hugs Cafe, Embrace,

and Direction 61:3. The foundation also played a significant role in establishing community clinics and hospitals. One of Love Life Foundation’s most recent endeavors is the “Leave Your Hat On” event, which aims to assist individuals in the community who have selflessly given to others but find themselves in financial hardship. The foundation has observed a growing demand for its outreach programs, such as the coat and backpack drive, and the Angel Tree initiative. Maylee attributes this increase to rising costs of goods and the rapid growth of McKinney. Love Life Foundation primarily works with single-parent households, recognizing the challenges they face in making ends meet with minimum wages.

Love Life Foundation’s impact has been significant. Last year, its Angel Tree program witnessed a 30% increase in requests, mostly for necessities. Maylee emphasizes the importance of collaboration with other agencies that can provide hands-on assistance, and she encourages the community to come together to address the needs of McKinney’s growing population. To facilitate community involvement, Maylee recommends Volunteer McKinney and One Heart McKinney as resources for finding local groups and opportunities to contribute. sandwiches, salads, soup and the ever-popular Wedding Cake Cookie. Lauren emphasizes Hugs Cafe is also a place of hope for families seeking acceptance and opportunities for their loved ones with disabilities. Expanding its impact, Lauren says Hugs is set to partner with Dallas College in 2024 to launch a second site of the Hugs Training Academy. Additionally, the organization is mentoring other nonprofits interested in implementing inclusive culinary training and hiring concepts in their communities. Hugs Cafe actively participates in various events throughout McKinney, from the Byron Nelson golf tournament to the Holiday Parade and social dances. Lauren, beyond her executive director role, serves on the McKinney Inclusion Council Steering

Cafe supporters also developed a strategic growth plan, with a vision to expand its brand and programs across the country over the next five years, supporting nonprofits, families and educational institutions seeking their innovative, inclusive solutions. Hugs Cafe Inc. is more than a restaurant; it’s a community hub, a symbol of empowerment and a testament to the impact of embracing abilities over disabilities. “The Cafe exemplifies the profound change that can occur when a community rallies around a vision of inclusion and success for everyone,” Lauren says. In the heart of McKinney is a dynamic duo dedicated to helping clients find their dream homes and to also actively contributing to the local community. With a shared passion for real estate and a commitment to community service, Julie Williams and Monica Szewczyk, formed Texas Property Sisters Realty Group. 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting 4 large eggs

what you do 1. Mound the flour in the center of a work surface with a well in the middle. Crack the eggs into the well and beat with a fork until smooth, then work flour into eggs with the fork. Use a bench scraper to work in the rest of the flour a little at a time. When the flour is incorporated, form the dough with your hands into a rounded mass for kneading. Lightly dust your workspace with flour and knead dough about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Cover dough with a bowl or plastic wrap and rest 1 1/2 hours, or chill overnight. 2. To roll by hand, flour a clean work surface. Vigorously roll dough to a very thin circle and roll constantly with even pressure as it stretches for several minutes until as thin as possible, almost translucent. 3. what you do 1. Bring the cream to just a simmer in a saucepan over low heat. Pour the cream over the chocolate in a bowl and let stand about 10 minutes to melt the chocolate. Add the vanilla, stir until smooth and set aside to cool for 1 hour at room temperature. 2. Beat chocolate at medium speed until thick and light-colored. Spread over the bottom of a baking dish, smooth and refrigerate 2 hours until firm. 3. Pour cocoa powder onto a deep plate or shallow bowl, and using a melon baller or small ice cream scoop, scoop out balls of chocolate. • Grab a wooden bowl, some acrylic paint, and a brush. • Hand paint some paint on one section of the bowl. • Let the first coat dry and paint another two to three coats of paint until you’re happy with the result. • Let the paint fully dry. • I wanted my gold leaf paper to overlap the paint for a layered look, so I took a paint brush and painted some Mod Podge in an overlapping pattern. • Once the Mod Podge gets tacky, use your hand to apply the gold leaf and accompanying wax sheet. • Push the gold leaf onto the tacky glue, then remove the top layer of paper. • Use your fingers to gently push the gold leaf onto the glue a little further. • Next, use the golf leaf brush to smooth over the whole area and gently wipe away any excess gold leaf. Pay extra attention to the edges. • Next, smooth the gold leaf section as much as possible, but don’t worry about any imperfections. The organic look of the gold leaf being imperfect gives the piece character. • Next, work your way to the outer edge. • Once the gold leaf is perfected, gently brush over the leaf with some Mod Podge to seal it to the bowl. • Let it completely dry and enjoy!
