OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE MONTH Sponsored by Jon C. Thompson, MD
Haili Moore | Prosper HS Some of the best things about the game of golf are that it is a game that can be enjoyed by families and the fact that you can play it much longer in life than many other sports. Our featured student/athlete of the month, Haili Moore, and her love of golf probably resulted from just those aspects of the game. Haili was introduced to golf as her parents, Faye & Tood Moore, played. First came the thrill of driving the golf cart. Then she went to the driving range— and that was the hook. Haili really enjoyed the game that now has given her endless opportunities and the possibility of a great future doing something she loves. She began playing in junior golf tournaments at the age of eight and found early on that she had an excellent talent and demeanor for the game. The coaching

results-driven with a proven track record to sell your home with confidence, and strategically write the offer on a home”, proudly states Linda Baker. Having grown up with a father who was a builder, it is not
2396 Courtland Dr, Frisco
too surprising when Linda left the corporate world to enter real estate. After all, she found herself with her dad at real-estate offices, finalizing deals, and watched as he bought land, subdivided it, and built homes from the ground up. She often jokes that she grew up in a Lowe's hardware store. That and her corporate experiences would become the foundation of her career in real estate. She brought her experiences in evaluating transactions, examining numbers, and having sales and marketing knowledge to the world of real estate. Those skills, combined with the experience of assessing and negotiating contracts and her knowledge of the local market have contributed to her success as a multimillion-dollar agent. Imagine an agent relationship that, like your home, appreciates in value. Linda likes to move you beyond your expectations— don't just look for a place, discover a home that can redefine your domestic bliss. “Luxury is an experience, not a price point” both Linda and Sotheby’s like to point out. Linda also has the luxury of knowing that their reach and range is one of their greatest assets. Luckily, the DFW area was not affected as much as many areas. THe COVID-19 pandemic changed the real estate market globally. While many alternative sources of financing dried up after the COVID shut down affecting certain buyer's abilities to obtain a loan, and therefore certain sellers the ability to sell, interest rates remained significantly low, which affected sales positively. So, whether, you are buying your next exciting home or selling to upgrade, don’t be afraid to do it now. COVID-19 also changed the market somewhat as many sellers had buyers who viewed their homes virtually and had never even entered the home. We had seen a significant number of buyers move into the
1549 Courtland Dr, Frisco
DFW area starting in June/July of 2020. The majority of these buyers are from California, NY, NJ, Chicago, some of the heavily locked down states. Some of those states also had businesses move to or open up in TX. When the country opened earlier this year, the real estate market in the DFW area saw dramatic changes, including buyers offering more than the asking price. Most of those areas had much higher real estate costs, so moving to the DFW area, they were and are willing to bid high in order to get exactly what they wanted. “There are certain factors that contribute to this, certain price points, subdivisions, updates all are factors that affect the how and why of this process. With this everchanging market, you need a strong agent who can navigate this. If you list too low, you're probably losing out on what could be a higher net. If you list too high, you might not get offers, ultimately affecting your net and the future marketability of your home” says Linda. CONTINUED >

Currently, there is low inventory because of the lack of sellers listing their homes— they will get more for their home selling, but they will likely have to pay more for another home than they were anticipating, therefore, they're not moving. Also, new home supplies dwindled significantly. Building supplies are still in short supply (lumber, concrete) or while vendors are "catching up" on the lingering supply chain that was disrupted last year. No one was prepared for the hurdles they faced over the last 12 months, builders included. Linda goes on to point out how dedicated she and Sotheby’s are to designing an extraordinary experience for every client, at every price point. Among other things, they know how to appreciate the emotional value of a home. “From your first home on, owning a home should be an experience that only rises in value, while the service you receive should feel just as valuable.” She adds, “If you’re considering a move, don’t be afraid to do it now. I can help you navigate the process.” If you are looking to build a home, Linda works with very talented builders, such as Jimmy Lambert. “He is an exceptional builder with exceptional experience. He can build whatever you need, however challenging, however simple, however complex. No project is too big or too small. No matter what he is building, his extreme attention to detail, superior quality, and unparalleled construction will leave you speechless, as he takes pride in every aspect of building his homes. And he does it with such ease.” The photos on page 31 show some of his work in The Hills of Kingswood in Frisco. So, whether you're buying, selling, or looking to build, you need an experienced and knowledgeable agent to navigate the marketplace with you. Linda knows she can help you with all your real estate needs. Her proven success, experience, and knowledge definitely back up her claims. Watching wildlife, such as bighorn sheep, elk, moose and mule deer, is a popular activity as well.
2.

3. YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK Yellowstone’s 2.2 million acres include colorful hot springs, awe-inspiring waterfalls, fascinating mudpots, explosive geysers, diverse wildlife and more. It is home to more hot springs and geysers than anywhere else on Earth. The oldest and largest herd of bison in the country lives at Yellowstone, as well as elk, wolves and grizzly bears.
4.
BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK Bryce Canyon National Park, located in southwestern Utah, is home to the world’s largest concentration of hoodoos on Earth. With its fascinating landscape composed of hoodoos, horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters and whimsical limestone rock formations, a visit to Bryce Canyon is often likened to a visit to another planet. This stunning landscape, formed by wind, water and snow, draws hikers, rock climbers, photographers, stargazers and cross-country skiers.
5.
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK Glacier National Park is located on the border of Canada and the United States and is often referred to as the “Crown of the Continent.” Visitors will find more than 700 glacial lakes and many hiking trails, ranging in difficulty from easy to strenuous. Going-to-the-Sun Road, known as one of the most spectacular scenic drives in the country, is a paved, two-lane highway that divides the park into east and west regions.

ZION NATIONAL PARK Zion National Park’s colorful sandstone cliffs, lush plateaus covered in pine and junipers, narrow canyons, the Virgin River, plus seeps, springs and waterfalls are just some of the scenic wonders here. One of Zion’s most popular hikes is known as the Narrows, the slimmest section of Zion Canyon. Other popular attractions include the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, Angels Landing, Observation Point and Canyon Overlook Trail.
7. GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park spans 310,000 acres and towers above the Jackson Hole Valley. The Teton Mountains, the youngest in the Rockies, are reflected majestically on the surfaces of six pristine lakes and the Snake River. Experienced climbers can summit the 13,770foot Grand Teton, and long-distance hikers can take the Paintbrush Canyon-Cascade Canyon Loop for impressive views of the mountain.
8.
GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK This UNESCO World Heritage Site is 277 river miles long, up to 18 miles wide and 1 mile deep. The South Rim is home to Grand Canyon Village and Bright Angel Trail. The West Rim is home to the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a glass bridge that extends 70 feet over the edge of a cliff. The North Rim is the most remote access point, allowing visitors to experience the park firsthand through intense hiking and backpacking and thrilling river rafting.
Hopefully, this list has inspired you to start planning your next adventure. Whether the mountains are calling, your inner daredevil needs to be satiated or a scenic road trip is in order, America’s national parks are begging to be explored! 36
