THROUGH THE LENS – A VISION COMES TO LIFE

IT ALL STARTED FROM A DREAM AND A VISION. It is now truly a dream come true. “I can’t believe how much we have gone through to get here,” Alyssa Carman says, “it really is amazing the journey we have been on to actually get where we are today.” You know that whole, ‘making lemonade out of lemons’? Alyssa Carman and her husband have not only made lemonade, but have created an entire entity and an empire beyond just any lemonade stand. Literally creating something from the ground up, a brand new, state-of-the-art studio in downtown McKinney is coming to life. “It’s a vision I have had for so long,” she says. “To create an entirely new space that has never been done.” Her passion for her photography business is palpable – but now, with the new studio opening, it’s beyond just a dream and a desire – it literally is being built. “I can’t begin to explain how excited I am about bringing my vision to life,” Alyssa continues, “this is for everyone to enjoy and there is nothing like it anywhere.” They took on the idea of this studio and photography space with everyone in mind. “People need a place that is a one-stop shop, that lends itself to brides, to seniors, to babies, to girl’s nights, to the whole family. We offer everything here. Dressing rooms, make-up rooms, studio space for other photographers to use, scenic space outside in our expansive outdoor area, to changing rooms – literally, anything anyone can think of anything they need. We wanted to provide a safe, comfortable home, with all the convenience – but also all the needs like backdrops, lighting, set-up space and anything you could possibly imagine. We can do on-sight photography, but can also accommodate location photography shoots.” This go-getter doesn’t let anything stop her, despite her sweet manner and kind personality, Alyssa doesn’t let anything get in her way. “I have never done anything like this. But I knew McKinney and other communities and other photographers needed this.” So, did they have a construction and

Lemon Drop studios is a complete lemonade fountain. Now it is an entire studio, building, backyard, photography and event venue that McKinney has been needing. The doors open soon and it will bring a world of such diversity and opportunity that no family will ever want to go anywhere else. Complete with dressing rooms and family rooms and make-up rooms, no details has been left undone. “My focus is capturing the spirit of the people through my lens.” With incredible insight she continues, “it’s important to me to make people as comfortable as possible. I want them to be who they are and my camera catches their spirit, their smile, the joy in their eyes. To me, that’s what matters.” Alyssa sees beyond just what is in her camera’s view finder. She looks at the entire vision, what people want, what they see beyond just photo. “It’s beyond just a moment in time, it captured memories that last forever.” And with Lemon Drop Studios, the possibilities are endless. “It’s a dream come true not just for me, but for my boys and for my family,” Carman explains, “and to be honest, it’s for every family, every per-
