Get Ready For Maple Grove Days A beloved community event planned by the dedicated volunteers of the Maple Grove Community Organization! Highlights include favorite traditions like the Kids Movie Night, perfect for a family evening under the stars. The festive parade on Thursday will fill 89th Avenue with joyful spectators. Saturday promises a full day of excitement with the Family Fun Zone & Kids Zone, offering activities for younger attendees. Throughout the event, enjoy fantastic musical entertainment featuring popular acts such as Chase and the Ovations and Kat Perkins and the Good Time Band. A diverse array of food trucks will be on hand to satisfy every craving, and the celebration will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display, presented by Experience Maple Grove, at Central Park at 10:05pm on Saturday.

If there’s one thing Minnesotans know how to do, it’s make the most of summer. For me, it means family time, grilling by the lake, long bike rides that somehow always end near Nautical Bowls, and soaking up everything our beautiful state has to offer. Minnesota in summer is a treasure, and there are so many places to explore. One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to connect with people in our community. For this issue, we asked readers to share their favorite places to explore in Minnesota. The variety of answers was fantastic, including state parks, hidden gems, hometown favorites. It reminded me just how much this state has to offer. I added several to my own list, and I hope you do too. This month, I had the privilege of taking a brand-new Jeep Wrangler up to Two Rivers Campground, one of our family’s favorite spots. It’s scenic, peaceful, and just rugged enough to feel like a real escape. And the Jeep? Let’s just say I didn’t want to return it. Special thanks to Blueberry Hill Classics who brought a 1940s camper that had been completely restored. It looked like it rolled off a movie set. It made for one of our most fun and memorable photo shoots yet. Joining us was Nathan from Halcon Built. I’ve known him since my previous business days, when he was a project manager who never let anything slide, he really earned my respect. Now that he’s running his own company, I’m proud to feature him this month. We’re also spotlighting Dagaz Therapy. Getting to know Britta, the founder, has been a real highlight. She brings warmth, calm, and compassion to every conversation and is building something truly special. And yes, I went to a real fashion show for the first time. Amy Seeman put on a showstopper. It was creative, bold, and a lot of fun, even for a guy whose only fashion education comes from having a wife who is a Project Runway fan. Big thanks to all of our partners who help bring this magazine to life each month. We truly couldn’t do it without you. Wishing you a joyful July filled with sunshine, laughter, and discovery. Nathan Halonen didn’t just step into construction; he grew with it. From early days as a laborer and equipment operator to leading multimillion-dollar residential and commercial projects, his path was built on hands-on experience, a strong work ethic, and a deep passion for craftsmanship. After earning a degree in Construction Management, he founded Halcon Built with a clear philosophy: build it once, and make it beautiful. One recent project was especially rewarding. A couple had spent over a decade living in a dark, hillside home while dreaming of something new. Packing with Purpose A Stylist’s Guide to Stress-Free Travel Style

Amy Seeman, Fashion Stylist | Keep It Realist Let’s be honest, most people wait until the night before a trip to pack. That usually leads to panic shopping, overpacking, and a suitcase full of “nothing to wear.” I see it all the time. But with a little strategy (and style), packing can be painless and dare I say - fun! Start early. I always recommend building your packing list around your itinerary. What are you doing each day? Knowing this ahead of time allows you to plan exact outfits, saving you from wasting precious vacation time staring into a suitcase full of random options. Once you’ve curated your looks, catalog them in your Notes app. Jot down each outfit by day and activity, and snap a photo of the look. This makes getting dressed on the go effortless. Before anything goes into your suitcase, try it on. An outfit that works in your head may not feel great in reality. Fit, comfort, and confidence matter. They’re often revealed in the mirror, not the mind.

One last swap I swear by: trade your denim jacket for a lightweight blazer. It’s more modern, polished, and versatile. Bonus: you’ll stand out in group photos.

In every trip wardrobe, include a few “swing” pieces, items that can be worn multiple ways. A tennis skirt is one of my go-to recs: pair it with a workout tank and sneakers for a morning walk, then swap in a button-up and flip-flops for lunch. Add a cardigan for a polished dinner look.

Don’t feel like you need to pack only neutrals. You can bring color and still create versatile looks. Choose pieces in complimentary shades for colorblocking or monochromatic outfits using just a few key items.

Summer is here and what better way to quench your thirst than with drinks crafted from the season’s fresh produce? Embrace the natural sweetness of sun-ripened fruits and the invigorating zest of garden-fresh herbs. From crisp berry infusions to fragrant herbal blends, enjoy the art of crafting delicious and revitalizing beverages that celebrate the fresh flavors of summer.

Ingredients: • 10 fresh mint leaves • 1 lime, cut into wedges • 2 tablespoons white sugar (or simple syrup, to taste) • 2 ounces white rum • 1 ounce rose water (adjust to taste, as it can be potent) • Club soda or sparkling water • Garnish: Mint sprigs, lime wedges, edible rose petals (optional) Instructions: Muddle: Place the mint leaves and lime wedges in a glass. Add sugar. Use a muddler to gently crush the mint and lime. Pour the white rum and rose water into the glass. Stir well. Fill the glass with ice. Top with club soda or sparkling water. Stir gently. Garnish with a mint sprig, a lime wedge, and, if desired, edible rose petals.

Ingredients: • 2 oz Gin (or Vodka) • 1.5 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice • 1 oz Pear Liqueur (or Pear Juice) • 0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice • 1 sprig of Rosemary • Sparkling water • Garnish: Rosemary sprig, grapefruit slice, pear slice Instructions: Place the rosemary sprig in a cocktail shaker. Lightly muddle the rosemary to release its oils. Add the gin (or vodka), grapefruit juice, pear liqueur and lime juice to the shaker. Add ice. Shake well until thoroughly chilled. Strain the mixture into a chilled glass filled with ice. Top with sparkling water or Prosecco. Garnish with a rosemary sprig, a grapefruit slice, and a pear slice.

A Lime Mint Rose Mojito adds a floral twist to the classic mojito, creating a refreshing and elegant cocktail. Here’s a recipe that balances the traditional lime and mint with the delicate aroma of rose. Ingredients: • 1 bottle wine (such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio or Garnacha) • ½ cup brandy or rum • ½ cup elderflower liqueur • 1 cup sparkling water • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced • ½ cup fresh raspberries • ½ cup fresh blueberries • ¼ cup fresh mint leaves • 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced (optional) • 1 lime, thinly sliced Instructions: In a large pitcher, combine the white wine, brandy (or rum), and elderflower liqueur. Stir gently to mix.Add the sliced strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, mint leaves, rosemary sprigs, and cucumber slices to the pitcher. Gently muddle the berries and herbs slightly to release their flavors. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld. Just before serving, add the sliced lime and sparkling water or club soda. Stir gently. Serve the sangria over ice, ensuring each glass gets a mix of fruit and herbs.

When we think of exploration, our minds often go to plane tickets and hiking trails, but what about the journey inward? At Dagaz Therapy in Maple Grove, the real adventure is personal transformation. Founded by licensed therapist Britta Svihel, this group practice is dedicated to helping people heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves.
