Hard Hats are In Style

![]()

Dear Reader,
I hope this letter finds you in high spirits and full of creative energy.

Today, I want to take a moment to celebrate and explore the fascinating world of style. Style is not limited to the clothes we wear or the way we adorn ourselves; it encompasses every aspect of our lives. From the way we decorate our homes to the music we listen to, from the books we read to the way we carry ourselves in conversations, style permeates every facet of our existence. It is the thread that weaves together the tapestry of our lives.
Style is deeply personal. And it evolves as we celebrate our quirks, our passions, and our desires. Style is a form of self-expression that communicates who we are, how we perceive the world and what we value. In this way, style becomes a powerful tool for connection, as it enables us to find common ground with others who share our aesthetic sensibilities.
As individuals, we have the freedom to embrace established styles, blend them together, or forge entirely new paths, becoming trendsetters ourselves. We hope this issue inspires you to forge new paths or perhaps explore familiar ones. There is so much here in [city] to uplift our spirits, boost your productivity and ignite your creativity.
What I’ve found is that the best style is an authentic expression of who you really are. And that’s something no one on earth can duplicate.
Here’s to being uniquely you!

As a woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, I strive to bring innovation and style to everything I do. It’s not just about breaking the glass ceiling for me; it’s about doing it with confidence and flair, and bringing my full self to any space I am in. Let’s talk about some ways I navigate the many spaces I find myself in on a regular basis.
BALANCING ACT: FROM CONSTRUCTION SITES TO NETWORKING EVENTS
My days are incredibly varied. One moment, I’m walking through rugged construction sites, and the next, I’m attending high-profile networking events, sociable lunches, and after-hour gatherings. Each setting requires a different approach to business wear, and I want to be able to navigate these changes seamlessly. I focus on building a wardrobe that is versatile, featuring everything from practical site-appropriate attire to chic, professional outfits that help me stand out in any setting.
MULTIFACETED:
I’m an extrovert and people quickly get to know my vibrant personality and welcoming smile. My fashion choices are more than just outfits; they reflect who I am. My accessories don’t overshadow me; they enhance my natural charisma and the innovative spirit I bring to my work. I get to share so many pieces of who I am, and showcasing both my

smarts and style shows that you don’t have to choose one over the other. So, whether I’m talking with an estimator or engineer on project requirements, or side-by-side with a technician on a job, I get to be me.
ADAPTABLE: CONNECTING WITH CLIENTS
At Connectivity Point, where I work, we specialize in network cabling and comprehensive telecommunication solutions. Our services range from security systems, paging and speaker setups, nurse call systems, to audio visual solutions. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities, which is why my wardrobe needs to be as adaptable as my skill set. Whether I’m meeting with a hospital team to discuss nurse call systems, overseeing the installation of a paging system at a school, or presenting cellular amplification solutions to a corporate client, I choose outfits that resonate with the professionalism and dedication we bring to each project.
Networking: Infrastructure and People I thrive when challenged with navigating both the technical world of network infrastructure and the personal connections that drive business success. My ability to network with people is as strong as my expertise in technology, making me a standout in my field. I bridge the gap between technical proficiency and personal engagement, ensuring that every interaction is both meaningful and impactful.
MY ADVICE: SHOW UP AS YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF
Always wear who you are. You have your permission to shine brightly and make an entrance. Choose outfits that make you feel confident. Imagine walking into a room with that power outfit and a theme song playing in your head. The outfit becomes the person wearing it. While you can change outfits for different events, remember that the glow that truly makes the outfit special comes from the person wearing it.
If you feel nervous or unsure, start by adding small, bold elements like a chunky necklace or statement earrings. Gradually,

you’ll find your style and confidence growing together. Embrace the accessories and clothes that make you feel powerful, and let them enhance, not overshadow, your natural personality.
Encouraging and empowering other women is a core value of mine. I want every woman to feel comfortable and stylish in her own way, whether she’s at a construction site, a networking event, or a social lunch. By owning our fashion choices and letting our true selves shine through, we can create a more vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring environment for everyone.
Remember, your style is a reflection of who you are, and there’s no one else quite like you. Embrace it, own it, and let it empower you to conquer any space you enter.
I’m excited to share my journey with you and show how I combine fashion and professionalism to make a unique mark in my industry. If you’d like to learn more about me or discuss how we can work together, please contact me at 803-683-2649 or mhyder@connectivitypoint.com.

I love family-style meals such as a crab boil this time of year. The food is the star of the show and a vital part of the tablescape – decor optional! Additional elements included here are a large paper-sail, light blue taper candles, a few large flowers, and heavy white rope as nautical accents. You can also use other elements such as large seashells, coral or seaglass. Use whatever you have on hand that nods to the sea.

Fill a large stock pot halfway with cold water. Season with lemon peels, bay leaves, black pepper, red pepper flakes, Old Bay Seasoning, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil and add crab legs, sausage, potatoes, and corn until cooked. Strain water and serve on a large galvanized tray, newspaper or parchment paper – enjoy your meal with guests, family style!
Give each guest a bowl of garlic butter for dipping as well as lemons for squeezing (wrapped in cheesecloth and tied with twine to avoid seeds).
Include special beverages and desserts such as a tiered lemon cake or frozen treat to beat the heat.

Braids to Keep You Chic All Year Long
Braids are a great way to add style and uniqueness to your hair style rotation and have been a staple in hair styles dating back to the 3500 B.C. This historical hairstyle is here to stay, so we wanted to share some go-to impressive looks.

Part hair down the center. Create pull-through braids on each side of the head. Tie elastic at the end of the braids to create a ponytail at the nape of the neck. For extra volume in the buns, tease the hair in the ponytail before twisting it into a bun. Secure with hair pins and... Voilà!

Place a bandana on the forehead and tie it in the back. Create as many braids as desired in the back of the head, teasing the ends to avoid using elastics.

Part the top half of the hair in two sections. Create fishtail braids (or braids of choice) and tie them together in the back of the hair. Add a fashion accessory around a ponytail for a little extra fun!

BOLD COLORS Fresh florals. An eye-catching shimmer. The perfect embellishment. We’re talking cocktails, not the catwalk. But like fashion, the art of mixology is full of ways to push the limits with creative twists on classic recipes, and unique adornments guaranteed to turn heads. There’s no reason your personal style can’t extend to the drink in your hand, and this botanical beverage is bound to taste as delicious as it looks.
