Specialty restaurants include a classic steakhouse, fresh seafood house, and Jamie’s Italian, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s take on fresh Italian cuisine. All food is included in the cruise price, except for specialty restaurants, which can be reserved with a surcharge. Then there is nightly entertainment including large-scale productions in the theater, music, and dancing in Studio B, movies under the stars, comedians, and live music around the ship. The astonishing thing is all that is included in your cruise price. You won’t find a more spectacular family experience anywhere else on land or sea. Or a better value. All that’s left is deciding whether to book a budget inside cabin or a glorious private balcony stateroom that keeps you in touch with the ocean 24 hours a day. For the past 10 years, the only way to enjoy the Royal Caribbean experience was to fly, usually to Florida, an expensive proposition for families. Now, with Navigator of the Seas only a drive away, families can pocket big savings or upgrade to one of the amazing family suites and take the family vacation to another level. However, if you want to explore other parts of the globe, a Royal Caribbean ship can be your floating hotel in Europe, Alaska, and, of course, the Caribbean. Move your pet into some shade or preferably air conditioning. Also, for a dog, you can use a hose or put the dog in a tub of tepid, but not cold water. You can also wet a towel and rub your cat or dog down, particularly concentrating on the head, neck, and underside of the legs. GIVING BACK LAGUNA NIGUEL ROTARY CLUB SUPPORTS THE COANIQUEM BURNED CHILDREN FOUNDATION IN CHILE
S E RV IC E A B OV E S E LF MOST PEOPLE ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE ROTARY CLUB AND THE GOOD DEEDS IT DOES IN SERVICE TO OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY. But you may not be aware of the organization’s involvement in assisting humanitarian projects around the world. One such initiative is the COANIQUEM Burned Children Foundation. COANIQUEM is an organization based in Chile that provides aid to child burn victims (coaniquem.cl). The COANIQUEM Burned Children Foundation (burnedchildren.org) is a US-based foundation that provides financial support for COANIQUEM. With medical facilities in three locations in Chile, COANIQUEM has rehabilitated more than 140,000 children since the organization was founded over 40 years ago. COANIQUEM combines medical attention, restorative healing, and comprehensive rehabilitation programs to treat physical and psychological scars in child burn victims. Trained professionals from a wide range of specializations are part of the multidisciplinary staff: medical doctors, registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers. LASER TECHNOLOGY FUND In February of this year, COANIQUEM began adopting a revolutionary new treatment for scar tissues utilizing laser technology to treat scars on burned children. By creating micro-perforations on the tissue, the scar remains softer and more pliable, allowing healthy tissue to grow around and beneath it. This treatment speeds recovery and the possibilities of reducing scarring are greatly enhanced. It also reduces the number of follow-up surgeries needed. The Laguna Niguel Rotary Club, through its partnership with Rotary International and the Rotary Club of Santiago, Chile, played an integral role in raising the $214,000 needed to fund this new laser technology.
