LIFE + CULTURE
EXCLUSIVE REVEAL: THE SECRET PROJECT TIM TEBOW HAS BEEN HOLDING CLOSE TO HIS HEART.
FINANCE + LEGAL SERVICES
MORE THAN MONEY: FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR WHAT MATTERS MOST

Our theme this month is "investing." However, we’re not just talking about stock charts or bank accounts. While money is important, we realize the best investments in life often have nothing to do with a wallet.

In fact, an investment is really just putting your time, energy, or heart into something today so you can have a better tomorrow. It could be a financial plan, the hours you spend at the gym, the coffee date with a lonely friend, or learning how to bake that perfect sourdough bread. When we invest in our community and ourselves, the "dividends" are happiness and connection.
This month, we have some incredible stories of people making big deposits in the lives of others:
Celeste Edmonds of Christmas Box International is investing in the dignity of foster children. Her organization has provided brand-new clothes and resources to over 185,000 children, proving that every child is worth the investment.
Next, certified life coach Stacy Harmer reminds us that the most important asset we own is our health. By focusing on nutrition and mental well-being, she helps others realize that taking care of your body isn't selfish—it's essential.
Finally, Jeff Wood emphasizes that true wealth is about planning for a legacy that supports your family and your passions. His insights help us align our spending with the things that truly matter most in the long run.
So, what are you going to invest in this month? Whether it’s your retirement fund or just a really good pair of running shoes, make sure it’s something that makes your future self smile.
Happy April!
Best,

For many, these talents can truly be their superpowers.
A deficit mindset asks, “Why isnʼt this child like everyone else?ˮ A strength-based mindset asks, “How does this brain learn best?ˮ
Take another look, because when we change the lens, we can change the outcome.
For children — and for adults with autism — growth looks different. When we move away from comparison and toward understanding, we create space for confidence to grow.

• Measuring progress against potential, not peers.
• Noticing strengths before struggles.

As a lawyer who works with technology startups, I watch founders chase every new tool, every emerging platform, every AI breakthrough that hits the headlines. The instinct makes sense, nobody wants to get left behind. But I've seen more startups fail from constantly pivoting toward the latest shiny object than from missing a single technology wave
Here's the reality: technology is accelerating so fast that no one-not your investors, not your competitors, not the analysts--can reliably predict what tools will exist in eighteen months or what customers will demand by then If you try to build for a future nobody can see, you'll build for nobody at all
The most successful founders I work with approach this uncertainty as a permission slip. They stick to their product plan. They stay obsessed with the core problem they set out to solve. When a genuinely useful new technology emerges, they incorporate it tactically, not as a panic response, but as a deliberate enhancement to what already works.

An exclusive Q&A with City Lifestyle

ARTICLE BY ANGELA BROOCKERD

From championship trophies to global humanitarian impact, Tim Tebow’s journey has defied every standard playbook. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Tebow pulls back the curtain on the moments that truly defined him, from a humbling middle school church retreat to the life-altering shift of fatherhood. This isn’t just a look back at a career; it’s an invitation into the heart of a man driven by purpose. Read the highlights below, then join us for the full, unfiltered experience by scanning the QR code at the end.

Q: WE ALL KNOW YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD, BUT TELL US ABOUT THE CURL CONTEST.
A: I was competing for my future high school team (my brother’s team), and I pushed myself way past what was smart. I ended up collapsing and needing medical attention. But what stayed with me wasn’t the pain, it was the lesson. Would I be willing to do something that others aren’t? For much of my life, I strived to bring my best for a game, but I hope that I can say at the end of my life I was willing to do that for things that actually matter.
Q: YOU’VE ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN SPORTS. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT NOW?
A: Becoming a dad. Nothing compares. From the moment I knew my wife was pregnant, I felt a new depth of love for our child, but when you bring your baby home, the responsibility hits you like nothing else. Suddenly, everything you see, every decision you make, you’re asking, “Is this corner too sharp? What happens if she reaches that drawer?” It changes how you see the world and how you see other people.
Q: YOU’VE SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT DISAPPOINTMENT, ESPECIALLY AROUND FOOTBALL. HOW DID THAT SEASON OF LIFE SHAPE YOU?
A: I talked a lot about that very thing in my book Shaken . We all go through moments where our faith in our abilities and purpose feels rattled, but I believe it’s often in those storms when God can show us who we could become.
Q: YOU TALK A LOT ABOUT COMPARISON CULTURE. WHY DO YOU BELIEVE COMPARISON HAS BECOME SUCH A TRAP TODAY?
A: Because we’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel. Social media shows people’s “best day,” often filtered and staged, and then we measure our reality against that. There’s a reason filters are so popular—it’s not real. We end up scrolling through images that don’t tell the full story, and without realizing it, comparison starts to steal our joy and our gratitude.
“We’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel... comparison starts to steal our joy.”
Q: YOUR FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON THE “MOST VULNERABLE.” WHERE DID THAT CALLING BEGIN?
A: When I was 15, I met a boy in the Philippines who was treated as a throwaway because he was born with physical differences. That moment changed me. I realized God was calling me to pursue a different kind of MVP, not “Most Valuable Player,” but “Most Vulnerable People.”
Q: FINALLY, WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
A: I have some weird coffee habits, which include protein powder, collagen, and cream all mixed together. I love golf dates with my wife. And every night, I bring snacks to bed to share with our dogs. It brings me more joy than it probably should.
This conversation barely scratches the surface. Tim goes deeper into the moments that rattled him, the joys of fatherhood, and one story he has never shared publicly until now. Scan the QR code for the full, exclusive City Lifestyle interview on Share the Lifestyle Podcast.

ARTICLE BY MIKE BEAN | PHOTOGRAPHY BY JERI ABEL
Jeri Abel’s lifelong love of nature evolved into an award-winning photography career celebrating the restorative power of the natural world. For years, she began photographing flowers and landscapes hoping to one day turn them into paintings. Today, those dreams have blossomed into a professional career that celebrates the restorative power of the natural world.
Jeri’s roots go back to her childhood in Idaho. Her father taught her to truly observe the world, while her mother knew the name of every flower and star. Living in Utah has also shaped her vision; she is deeply inspired by the dramatic light of the Wasatch canyons and the bold textures of the red rock desert.
Jeri’s path from novice to expert was a steady climb. She began by studying art and business, eventually teaching painting and printmaking. When digital tools like Photoshop emerged, she spent a decade in graphic design, even creating materials for the 2002 Olympics. It wasn’t until she returned to her own studio years later that everything clicked. By combining her traditional art training with modern digital photography, she discovered how to create “painterly” images that look like fine art.Her work has earned high praise, including “Best of Show” at the 2025 Utah State Fair for her piece, Crimson Cascade
For Jeri, photographing flowers is about healing. After facing a season of deep personal loss, she found peace in her garden. She grows many of the blooms she captures, from dahlias to roses. By bringing them into her studio, she uses light to reveal their “quiet magic.” Jeri’s goal is to help others surround themselves with natural beauty, providing a window of stillness and hope for everyone who sees her work.

When it comes to money, “your future self is going to thank you for what you're doing right now,” Jeff Wood promises.
For Jeff, financial planning is about making good financial decisions. That includes helping parents teach their kids how money works, protecting loved ones from unnecessary stress, and making retirement years secure and stress-free.
ARTICLE BY ABI FALIN HORSPOOL PHOTOGRAPHY BY JEN FOX PHOTOGRAPHY
A father of four children between the ages of 9 and 16, Jeff has made it a priority to teach his kids how money works and encourage an entrepreneurial mindset.

For example, when his son Jake was eight years old, Jake filled a wheeled cooler with candy bars and drinks and sold refreshments at Saturday soccer games.
“He was making about 22 bucks an hour as an eight-year-old,” Jeff laughs. Later, when Jeff asked him to unload the dishwasher, his son responded, “How much will you pay me?” Jeff offered 50 cents, and his son countered, “I can make way better money selling at the games.” Jeff chuckles about the lesson his son learned. “He’s just figured out he could make a lot better money by being entrepreneurial,” Jeff says.
But Jeff knows not every child grows up with hands-on financial lessons at home, and it’s not taught in school, either. That gap concerns him.
“I think it’s important to teach your kids what you wish you would have known.” So when asked, Jeff often meets with his friends’older kids to walk them through the fundamentals of saving, investing, avoiding bad debt, and building real wealth.
Jeff knows that without that knowledge, young adults can quickly find themselves in trouble. Credit card offers, student loans, car payments—financial decisions pile up fast after high school. Jeff says people don’t know what they don’t know, which is why financial guidance is so valuable.

Jeff worked hard to hone his own financial skills. He spent years in corporate finance, working for big accounting firms like KPMG and Deloitte and as an executive in accounting and finance.
But something was missing.
“In corporate finance and accounting, you don't always see how your efforts reach the bottom-line people and make their lives better,” Jeff says. “With what I do now, I actually see a client get a far better return than they would have gotten on their own based on what they were doing.”
That direct impact is what drew him back to financial planning. Now, at Elysium Financial, Jeff helps clients navigate everything from investments and retirement planning to tax strategy and estate planning. He feels that what sets his firm apart is its fully integrated team approach. Estate planning professionals, tax preparation and tax planning

specialists, and financial and wealth management advisors work collaboratively under one roof, ensuring every piece of a client’s financial life is aligned and working together for their best interests.
As fiduciaries, Jeff and his team are legally and ethically committed to putting their clients’ interests first. That standard is foundational to how they serve families. Every recommendation is made with the client’s long-term well-being in mind.
Jeff has seen firsthand how preparation can ease emotional burdens during life’s most difficult seasons. He recalls working with an older couple to ensure their funeral arrangements and burial plots were fully paid for and clearly documented. When the husband passed away, Jeff’s office was one of the first calls the family made to ensure everything was in order.
“It took a big load off the family because while their dad was alive, he was able to give input on what he wanted,” Jeff says.
Moments like that remind him why he chose this path—to help care for families.

After unexpectedly losing a child, Stacy Harmer found herself navigating deep grief and depression. The intentional journey she took to heal—body, heart, mind, and spirit— now shapes the compassionate work she does through Vibrant Living Wellness.
“I believe it’s absolutely essential that we take time to care for ourselves,” Stacy says. “When we nurture our own well-being, we’re able to show up more fully for the people we love and the life we’re meant to live.”
Her approach to investing in yourself centers on four foundational areas: body, heart, mind, and spirit
“Our physical health influences everything else,” Stacy explains. “When we strengthen the body, we create energy and capacity for the rest of our lives.”
She uses the acronym PLEASE as a simple reminder for daily physical care:
• P – Proper supplementation
• L – Low glycemic, nourishing foods
• E – Exercise and movement
• A – Adequate hydration
• S – Sleep and restoration
• E – Energy“When we care for our bodies consistently,” she says, “we create the energy needed to live a vibrant, meaningful life.”
ARTICLE BY ABI FALIN HORSPOOL PHOTOGRAPHY BY JEN FOX PHOTOGRAPHY
“The heart is where we hold our emotions,” Stacy says. “Many of us were never taught how to process feelings in a healthy way.”
Rather than suppressing emotions, she encourages gentle awareness and release.
Some of her favorite tools include:
• Writing: Freewriting each morning to identify emotions such as frustration, sadness, disappointment, or fear.
• Movement: Physical activity helps release stored emotional energy.
• Talking with someone safe: Processing out loud often brings clarity and healing.“When we allow ourselves to feel,” Stacy explains, “our hearts become lighter and more open to connection.”

“Our thoughts create our feelings, our feelings drive our actions, and our actions produce our results,” Stacy teaches.
She encourages intentional mindset practices such as:
• Noticing thoughts that aren’t serving you
• Choosing more supportive thoughts
• Repeating daily affirmations with emotion and belief“With practice,” she says, “we can gently retrain the mind to support the life we want to create.”
Spiritual care looks different for everyone, but Stacy emphasizes that it is just as important as physical and emotional health.
“Give yourself permission to explore what helps you feel connected, peaceful, and grounded,” she says.

This might include:
• Time in nature
• Journaling
• Music
• Prayer or quiet reflection“Spiritual nourishment helps us remember who we truly are.”
Stacy emphasizes that investing in yourself is not selfish— it’s transformational.
“Any investment in ourselves is never wasted,” she says. “I often picture a net: when you lift one string, the entire net rises. As you lift yourself, everyone around you is lifted too.”
Through intentional care of the body, heart, mind, and spirit, she believes anyone can begin creating a more vibrant life. Stacy and Rozanne Marsh lead a community of women called “Come What May - Women United” to help women rise above life’s most difficult challenges.

ARTICLE BY BAILEY HALL
Not every date night needs to involve reservations or an elaborate itinerary. With a little creativity, you can create magical moments right at home. Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day or just want to reconnect, here are three ideas for unforgettable at-home date nights.

Transform your backyard or balcony into a dreamy picnic spot! Spread out a cozy blanket, add a few fluffy pillows, and hang string lights or fairy lights for ambiance. A small fire pit or lanterns can also add a romantic glow.
Pack a picnic basket with finger foods and a bottle of wine or sparkling water. Don’t forget a decadent dessert like chocolate-dipped strawberries. Lay back and stargaze, identifying constellations or making wishes on shooting stars. To make it extra romantic, bring a bluetooth speaker and play soft music.

Unleash your inner artists with one of these three fun and interactive dates. Grab some inexpensive canvases, brushes, and acrylic paints from the craft store. Don’t forget aprons or old clothes to protect against spills!
• Paint each other’s portraits for a mix of laughter and creativity.
• Work on a collaborative painting - each person adds their own touch to a single canvas.
• Try a themed painting challenge, like recreating your favorite memory together. Pair this date with a cheese platter and wine and don’t worry about being “good’ at painting - it’s all about enjoying the process together.
Start the day with love by turning breakfast into an indulgent experience. Prepare a tray with a DIY breakfast charcuterie board. Include mini pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, bacon, and pastries. Add small bowls of toppings like syrup, Nutella, or whipped cream.
Mix up mimosas or serve coffee with flavored syrups and whipped cream for a café vibe. Then, snuggle up in bed and watch a favorite movie or TV series.

STYLE YOUR HOME IN TONES AND TEXTURES WITH DESIGN HELP FROM HOUZZ INTERIOR DESIGN EXPERTS

ARTICLE BY NICOLETTE MARTIN

Decorate your space with handmade textures such as the modern, maker revival of 1970s macramé and year-round tropical feel of wicker. MACRAMÉ Made through knotting instead of weaving, macramé can add a unique touch in many various ways. Houzz contributor Laura Gaskill suggests incorporating it as nursery decor, plant hangers, wall hangings and modern fiber arts. WICKER According to Houzz contributor Yanic Simard, “the best way to really embrace the luxury-cottage appeal of wicker and rattan is to combine different forms of the two in one space... Look for other unexpected places to add a natural twist to your home with a new material woven into your palette.”
Houzz contributor Katie Treggiden offers many ways to incorporate natural materials and natural-state timber into your home, including using wood to cover one wall in a home for a pleasing accent wall; featuring your firewood as a striking, stacked display; and mixing different types of wood and different finishes in the same space. “A simple way to incorporate the wood trend is to expose structural wooden beams already present in your home,” Katie says. “Instead of painting them or boxing them in, leave them raw or give them a coat of wax to enrich the tones.”
Do you feel like your all-white room is missing something? Houzz contributor Kelly Porter bets what’s missing is energy.
“The best way to add a spark to any space,” she says, “is with bright color.”
Kelly says green is one of the easiest colors to live with, looking organic even in its more vivid tones.
“When searching for the perfect bright green, think springtime—fresh green grass and newly sprouted leaves,” she says. “These greens have lively undertones that will look comfortable and warm in your white space.
Other colors Kelly recommends adding as accents are yellow, royal blue, orange, blue-purple, red-purple and sky blue.

ts looking to put t g retirement plans. In these cases sometimes I have to give them advice they don’t want to hear.
For example, many clients have debt and most have at least a home mortgage. Often these customers feel that they need to pay debt down or pay off debt before they get started with investing and saving for retirement Unfortunately, simple math usually shows that this is the wrong approach to preparing for our financial future Since most home mortgages have rates somewhere around 2 to 4 percent and most longterm retirement portfolios earn substantially higher than this at around 7 to 9 percent , smart clients should prioritize saving and investing for their retirement above paying off their home mortgages
Another example is investing in the stock market . Some clients do not want to discuss stock market investing because they are solely focused on their real estate or personal businesses investments. However, consider the risks: If real estate projects fail or businesses become insolvent , these individuals may be left with no retirement savings or investment whatsoever Market investing should be seen as another way to diversify investment holdings and, in a way, to lower risk
Make sure that your financial advisor gives you wise advice, whether you want to hear it or not . After all , that ’s what you’re paying them for
