Lifestyle Letter
Home is a gathering place where moments are celebrated, memories are made, conversations are had, and life flourishes. Our homes reflect our passions, they reveal what we find comfort in, and they often demonstrate what we prioritize. In my opinion, the home is truly a sacred place where we can get to come together with those we love.
I lived in the same home for 16 years growing up, right here in Johnson County. If I drive by that house today, I’m immediately filled with a sense of nostalgia and all of the memories from those 16 years of life come flooding back. I can recall my favorite home cooked meals, the spot where I did my homework, the dinner table that we gathered around every night, and even the feeling I got when I’d finally arrive home after time away on a trip. So much of who I am today was shaped within the walls of that home.
For me though, home extends far beyond that house that I was raised in. “Home” today reminds me of the incredible people I have in my life. Wherever my community is, that’s where I feel most at home. I’d label myself as a homebody and I think the people in my life would too. I value the sense of peace that I encounter when I step inside my home at the end of every day. It’s the place where the world slows down and our family comes together without as many distractions.
Our Home issue at Johnson County City Lifestyle is always an exciting one to put together. In our community, we have incredibly talented designers, decorators, builders, realtors and more, that bring our homes to life and allow us to feel at peace within our spaces. In this issue we’ve highlighted several of our partners and various other business owners that bring immense beauty to our community and our homes.
Maybe you’re in a season where you feel unsettled, or maybe you feel deeply established. Wherever you find yourself, our prayer is that the pages of this magazine encourage you and leave you with a sense of comfort this season. Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three gather together in my name, I am with them."
At KC Outdoor Spaces, we believe your outdoor space should feel like a natural extension of your home — a place to relax, entertain, and make lasting memories. From bold transformations to subtle enhancements, our work is built to impress and made to last.

Designing with Soul
How Brasstacks Blends Character, Comfort, and Creativity
|
ARTICLE BY ALLISON SWAN
PHOTOGRAPHY BY JANIE JONES
There’s something special about walking into a home that feels both beautiful and completely lived in. That’s exactly what Brasstacks brings to the homes they design across the area— spaces that feel layered, personal, and thoughtfully built to last.
At the center of that approach is interior designer Elaine Macek, whose calm, intentional style has helped countless homeowners find clarity in what can often feel like an overwhelming design process. Brasstacks has become known for interiors that balance creativity with comfort with just the right amount of risk.
"I think it is important to start with the home itself,” says Macek. “Every space gives clues that suggest what works best. By not forcing trends, and leaning into the home's character, we are able to create spaces that feel intentional. Additionally, by working with a designer, I am able to translate the Pinterest boards, and our client’s lifestyles through conversations to help narrow down options and make this less overwhelming."
That ability to interpret inspiration and transform it into something livable is what many clients appreciate most. Whether it’s a historic home with architectural quirks or a newer build waiting for personality, the team approaches every project as a collaboration, blending the client’s vision with the natural character of the space.
“I think what sets us apart from other designers and builders in the area is our intentionality. Every thought process and detail that comes together has a rhyme and reason.”
"I think the best way to choose timeless pieces and elements for a home is to create a warm and layered environment. We start with sourcing vintage and second-hand pieces that bring history and character with them that isn’t easily replicated with mass production. In my opinion, layering older pieces with thoughtful new selections creates a home that feels collected over time, which in turn makes the home personal and not trend driven.”
That philosophy is evident throughout their work, where rooms that mix old and new, textures that invite touch, and layouts that feel as good to live in as they look.
With both design and construction under one roof, projects flow seamlessly from concept to completion.
"I think what sets us apart from other designers and builders in the area is our intentionality. Every thought process and detail that comes together has a rhyme and reason. I think it is also great that we have design and
construction under one roof. Our project managers are in the know of the design prior to a hammer swinging on site, which creates a seamless transition between design and construction, and I think that is what shines!"
That intentionality allows Brasstacks to take creative chances, leading to the most memorable results.
"It’s so hard to choose a favorite project, but I love the projects where our clients aren’t afraid to do something out of the box and take a little risk with their space, whether it be a fun color drench, cabinetry detail, or a natural stone.”
From bold cabinetry choices to richly layered living spaces, Brasstacks designs reflect a belief that homes should tell a story—one built slowly, thoughtfully, and with personality in every corner.

An Expert Perspective on Today’s Johnson County Real Estate Market
Finding The
Perfect Home
Buying or selling a home is one of life’s most significant decisions. Having an experienced advisor—one who understands both market dynamics and lifestyle priorities—can transform what might feel overwhelming into a confident, strategic experience.
With more than 30 years of experience in the Kansas City metro, Haley Epps of Compass Realty Group is recognized for her market insight, refined approach, and unwavering commitment to her clients. Johnson County City Lifestyle sat down with Epps to discuss today’s market and what discerning buyers and sellers should know as they consider their next move.
WHAT DOES INVENTORY LOOK LIKE RIGHT NOW?
Inventory remains limited, but quality is the true differentiator. Homes that are thoughtfully updated, beautifully presented, and priced with precision continue to attract immediate attention.
Conversely, properties that require even modest cosmetic improvements tend to linger. Today’s buyers place a premium on turnkey living and are far less inclined to take on projects, even when the fixes are relatively minor.
WHAT'S THE REAL ESTATE MARKET LIKE IN JOHNSON COUNTY RIGHT NOW? IS IT A BUYER'S OR SELLER'S MARKET?
The market has shifted into a more balanced, buyer-leaning environment. For several years, historically low interest rates fueled an exceptionally competitive seller’s market, often driving prices well beyond asking.
Today, higher rates have naturally slowed that pace. Many homeowners who secured rates in the low two-percent range are choosing to stay in place rather than move into higher financing costs. The result is a market defined by intention, strategy, and opportunity, particularly for well-prepared buyers.
“WHEN
A CLIENT FINDS THE RIGHT HOME, FEELS CONFIDENT IN THE PROCESS, AND IS EXCITED ABOUT WHAT’S NEXT, THAT’S THE MOST FULFILLING PART OF WHAT I DO. YOU’RE SPENDING A LOT OF TIME WITH THEM, AND THEY BECOME LIKE FAMILY.”
WHAT FEATURES ARE TODAY’S BUYERS PRIORITIZING MOST?
Buyers continue to gravitate toward open, lightfilled floor plans with a clean, timeless aesthetic. Neutral palettes, lighter flooring, architectural elements such as wood beams, and cohesive finishes remain highly desirable. The overall trend favors refined simplicity and spaces that feel elevated yet livable.
HOW DO YOU PREPARE A HOME FOR MARKET AT THIS LEVEL?
Preparation is everything. My team and I focus on creating a home that feels effortless and move-in ready. Each of my sellers receives complimentary time with my designer, who provides strategic guidance on furniture placement, decluttering, lighting, and targeted updates that yield the highest return.
The goal is not over-renovation, but thoughtful refinement ensuring the home presents at its absolute best from the moment buyers walk through the door. We're trying to help them get the most for their house, and we think the best way to do that is to make it feel like somebody could move right in.
HOW LONG ARE HOMES TYPICALLY ON THE MARKET?
Well-positioned homes average around 30 to 45 days, although exceptional properties often sell much more quickly.
WHICH PRICE POINTS ARE SEEING THE MOST ACTIVITY?
In Johnson County, the $500,000 to $800,000 range currently represents the most active segment of the market, with strong buyer demand and consistent sales activity.
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU OFFER BUYERS BEFORE THEY BEGIN THEIR SEARCH?
Preparation is key. Securing a strong pre-approval early allows buyers to move with clarity and confidence and to act decisively when the right opportunity presents itself.
WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST REWARDING ABOUT YOUR WORK?
I love the relationships. From first-time buyers to empty nesters, it’s incredibly rewarding to guide clients through a moment that represents both a financial investment and a lifestyle transition. It's lovely when they find the perfect house and start dreaming about how to make it their own.
When a client finds the right home, feels confident in the process, and is excited about what’s next, that’s the most fulfilling part of what I do. You're spending a lot of time with them, and they become like family.

CULTIVATING CONNECTION
HOW SACRED ACRE EVENTS TURNS GATHERINGS INTO EXPERIENCES
ARTICLE BY ANGELA BROOCKERD PHOTOGRAPHY BY ANNALISE HOUGHTON
Four years ago, three neighbors with a shared love of gardening and homesteading came together with just one acre of land and a lot of heart. Sarah, Alex, Cord, Rachelle, Eric, and Darren spent their time growing flowers, tending vegetables, and raising chickens, but along the way they also grew a strong friendship. That sense of care and connection eventually led to something bigger. In 2024, while hosting a bridal shower for Darren’s sisterin-law, they realized they loved more than just growing food. They loved creating an experience, paying attention to every detail, and making a moment
feel truly special. What they thought was simply a gathering became the spark for Sacred Acre Events.
The name itself reflects that origin, formed from the first letters of their names and their husbands’ names, and rooted in the acre that brought them together. From the beginning, Sacred Acre Events has focused on one guiding idea: specializing in the small details. While they are known for their beautiful, custom charcuterie boards, the team describes themselves as an Event Concierge. Their goal is not just to provide food, but to create a full, thoughtful experience that reflects each client’s vision.
Every charcuterie board is custom designed, often themed around the season or occasion, and always shaped by collaboration. The three founders bring very different personalities and creative perspectives to the table, which they see as a strength. Instead of clashing, their ideas blend together, with each person focusing on their own part of the process. The result is a board that feels intentional, balanced, and personal. From bridal showers and baby showers to realtor events, each setup is designed to feel effortless for the host and memorable for guests.
Balancing beauty and flavor is central to their work. The team is mindful that not everything that looks good tastes good, and vice versa, so they focus
on high quality ingredients and thoughtful pairings that deliver on both. Clients often say the biggest relief comes from knowing they can trust someone else to handle the details. Sacred Acre Events allows hosts to step back, enjoy the moment, and feel confident everything has been carefully considered. Their advice for anyone hosting on their own is simple: less is more. Too many options can feel overwhelming, while a curated selection invites guests to relax and enjoy. Above all, Sacred Acre Events believes it is the small details that make the biggest impact. Those thoughtful touches are what turn a gathering into an experience that feels warm, meaningful, and unforgettable.

EMBRACING THE GARAGE AND RAISING THE BAR
AT HANK’S GARAGE AND GRILL, FAMILIAR COMFORT FOOD GETS A THOUGHTFUL, CHEF-DRIVEN GLOW-UP
Walk into Hank’s Garage and Grill, and you immediately get it: this place didn’t borrow a theme, it inherited one. Housed in a former automotive garage, the restaurant leans hard into its roots, sealing decades of character right into the walls. Original cinderblock still shows its history, old garage wells remain in place, and vintage-inspired finishes tie it all together. Instead of hiding the building’s past, the team chose to celebrate it, helped along by a close relationship with the family who ran Shawnee Automotive in the space for 30 years. The result feels authentic, not manufactured.
That same mindset carries straight into the kitchen. Hank’s describes its food as approachable and familiar, but don’t confuse that with basic. The goal is to exceed expectations
without losing the fun. Burgers, hot dogs, pasta, and bar favorites anchor the menu, but every item is the product of months of testing, tweaking, and obsessive attention to detail. It’s unpretentious food, taken seriously.
Nowhere is that philosophy clearer than in the burgers. Rather than overwhelming guests with endless options, Hank’s focuses on doing a few things extremely well. The top seller, Hank’s Original, keeps it classic on paper: two smash patties made from local Hertzog beef, shredded lettuce, chopped pickles, sharp American cheese, and house-made Hank’s sauce on a brioche-potato roll. What sets it apart is the balance of textures, seasoning, and technique working together so every bite lands exactly right.
“HANK’S HOPES TO BE KNOWN FOR MORE THAN ITS MENU. HOSPITALITY IS THE THROUGHLINE. THE AIM IS SIMPLE: MAKE PEOPLE FEEL WELCOME, COMFORTABLE, AND GENUINELY APPRECIATED EVERY TIME THEY PULL UP A SEAT.”
Close behind is the El Reno Burger, Hank’s tribute to the iconic Oklahoma-style fried onion burger. It’s simple, honest, and deeply researched. Kitchen Manager Zac Sachs even traveled to Sid’s Diner in El Reno, Oklahoma, to study the original. Hearing praise from Oklahoma natives—calling it “as close to home as it gets”—has become one of the team’s proudest compliments.
Unexpectedly, pasta also plays a role here. House-made fettuccine with either red or white sauce rounds out the menu, offered simply and intentionally. It may not be standard burger-joint fare, but it fits Hank’s approach: serve what you love, and do it well.
Then there are the curveballs, like Spam fries with banana ketchup. Served in the can, the Spam comes in, and the dish turns heads before it ever hits the table. The banana ketchup, a Filipino condiment with ginger, turmeric, allspice, banana, and vinegar, often wins over even the most skeptical diners.
Flexibility is key. Guests can snack through a game, enjoy a salad at lunch, or settle in for a burger-centric dinner. Weekly specials like the ever-changing “weenie of the week” keep regulars curious, no repeats yet.
At the end of the day, though, Hank’s hopes to be known for more than its menu. Hospitality is the through-line. The aim is simple: make people feel welcome, comfortable, and genuinely appreciated every time they pull up a seat.
FAN FAVORITES AT HANK’S
• Hank’s Original Burger – Double smash patties, house spice, and signature sauce
• El Reno Burger – Oklahoma-style fried onion smash burger
• Weenie of the Week – A rotating hot dog special (never repeated)

MID-CENTURY WARMTH, REIMAGINED
ARTICLE BY ANGELA BROOCKERD PHOTOGRAPHY BY DAN JENKINS, AMANDA PROUDFIT
There’s a certain moment when a house stops feeling new and starts feeling like home. It isn’t marked by square footage or finishes alone. It is something quieter, more emotional. In this home, designer Kate Manz set out to do exactly that: give a newly built home a heartbeat and a soul.
Rather than treating the house as one sweeping statement, she approached each room as its own story, layered with meaning, memory, and texture. The result is a home that feels collected, personal, and deeply lived-in.
“Tackling each space and room as its own story and concept is how to make a new space feel personal,” Manz explains. “But bringing it all together cohesively is always the challenge.”
Her solution? Warmth, intention, and a strong belief in the power of people. In new builds it can take years for a home to shed its newness. For this project, the goal was to fast-track that sense of belonging by layering in pieces with history and heart. Vintage market finds, local artists, and meaningful objects play a starring role throughout the home.
“My love for design goes hand in hand with the people and stories that bring it to life,” she says. “I absolutely love seeing the evolution from concept to completion and all the elements and people that help bring those ideas to reality.”
That philosophy becomes especially important in the home’s expansive open-concept living area, where scale could easily overpower intimacy.
THE OPEN CONCEPT, REIMAGINED
The main living space is defined by bringing the outside in with sweeping outdoor views and generous proportions. Rather than fighting that openness, embrace it.
“The big open concept room really highlights the expansive outdoor views,” she says, “but making intimate spaces within that open room was really important.”
A layered niche wall, created in collaboration with the interior architect Nick Flower, brings both structure and softness to the room. It introduces texture, depth, and a place for unique objects and family heirlooms to live, turning negative space into a personal gallery.
MATERIALS:
Cole
DESIGN TAKEAWAY:
In large rooms, architectural details like niches, built-ins, or material changes can create visual rhythm while giving meaningful objects a true home.
ENTRYWAY: A WARM WELCOME
The entryway sets the tone with a simple but powerful goal: Welcome to my home.
Natural stone underfoot grounds the space, while a soft vintage rug and living greenery immediately soften the experience. Art with personal meaning invites guests to linger rather than rush through.
MATERIALS:
DESIGN TAKEAWAY:
An entryway doesn’t need to be loud to be memorable. Combine tactile materials with one or two meaningful elements to create an instant emotional connection.
Luca split stone pavers, Vintage Turkish rug, Plants, Virginia Sin Wall hook
POWDER BATH: SMALL ROOM, BOLD SPIRIT
If there’s one place Manz encourages clients to take risks, it’s the powder room. Here, she leaned into terracotta earth tones, layering textures and tile sizes for visual interest and warmth. Patterned and solid tiles work together, while textured wall coverings and a sculptural stone sink elevate the space from functional to delightful.
MATERIALS:
Particular Tile in Satin Terracotta and Vanilla Bean, Arté Wallcovering Shards in Brick Red, Red travertine sink, Rachel Donath chunky mirror, Playful art work by Olivia Fields
DESIGN TAKEAWAY:
Small spaces are ideal for experimentation. Mix patterns, finishes, and textures within a tight color family to create depth without overwhelm.
LOUNGE: A STUDY IN CALM AND DEPTH
Designed as a counterpoint to the openness of the main living area, the lounge is a cocoon, both peaceful, layered, and deeply versatile. It’s a place for reading, movie nights and slow mornings. Rich tones and varied textures do the heavy lifting here, creating depth without heaviness. Soft lighting and custom upholstery make the room feel both intentional and effortless.
MATERIALS:
Virginia Sin pendant light, In Common With sconce, Arté Oblong wall covering in Ochre, Particular Tile in Vapor, Custom sage velvet sofa, Plush Vintage Moroccan rug
DESIGN TAKEAWAY:
When a room serves many purposes, let texture and tone create cohesion. A restrained palette with varied finishes keeps the space flexible and serene.
At its core, this home is a reminder that design isn’t about perfection, but rather it’s about feeling. By treating each room as its own narrative while weaving in warmth, history, and human connection, a space was created that already feels loved.

BUILT ON TRUST, Grounded in COMMUNITY
How Envirotech blends family values, precision, and local pride into every home they serve
Envirotech Heating and Cooling has been part of the community since 1984, but the heart of the business as it exists today took shape in 2001, when Terri and James Gallet purchased the company at just 26 years old. With James bringing hands-on HVAC experience and Terri leading operations, customer service, and team development, the goal was never simply growth. It was trust. From the beginning, the Gallets made a conscious decision to build Envirotech where they live, work, and raise their family. This community isn’t a service area on a map; it’s home. That mindset shows up in how the business operates, how decisions are made, and how customers are treated.
Being family-owned at Envirotech is not a title reserved for the website footer. It’s an everyday reality. Terri, now President and CEO, is deeply involved in daily operations, employee development, financial oversight, and long-term planning. She plays a key role in shaping company culture and ensuring Envirotech’s standards remain consistent as the business grows. James, Vice President and Lead Field Supervisor, works directly with technicians, overseeing quality control, troubleshooting complex issues, and mentoring the next generation of HVAC professionals. That next generation includes their daughter, Mallory Gallet, who joined the company to focus on customer satisfaction, retention, and marketing. Her role strengthens relationships with homeowners while allowing her to learn every aspect of the business from the ground up. Together, the family’s hands-on leadership keeps Envirotech rooted, responsive, and accountable.
At the core of the company are a set of non-negotiable values. Customers come first, always. That means honest recommendations, clear explanations, and standing behind the work even when it costs extra time or effort. Integrity is expected, not rewarded. Corners are not cut. Mistakes are owned and fixed. Every job is completed to code, manufacturer specifications, and Envirotech’s own standards, with professionalism and respect for the customer’s home.
That sense of responsibility extends beyond HVAC work and into the community itself. James has served on the HVAC advisory board at Johnson County Community College since the late 1990s, after graduating from the program himself in 1995. Several Envirotech team members came through that same program, creating a full-circle connection between education, mentorship, and career development.
When asked what he’s most proud of, James doesn’t point to awards or milestones. He points to people. Specifically, the younger members of the Envirotech team who are starting families, coaching youth sports, getting involved in their churches, and contributing positively to their communities. Hiring carefully and developing character matters just as much as technical skill.
Outside of work, James’s passions reveal a lot about how he approaches leadership. In 2020, he began learning to fly planes after years of interest, ultimately earning his private pilot’s license in 2022. Aviation, like HVAC, demands precision, preparation, and an uncompromising commitment to safety. Every detail matters.
Every decision carries responsibility. That discipline translates directly into how Envirotech approaches its work, particularly on complex or safety-sensitive projects.
James is also a longtime wrestling coach and founder of the Bobcat Wrestling Club, which he started when his son was just four years old. While he’s stepped back from daily practices, coaching remains close to his heart. Wrestling, he says, builds discipline and resilience. There’s no one else to blame when things don’t go your way. Learning how to lose, improve, and keep going often matters more than winning, and those lessons carry far beyond the mat.
That mindset shapes Envirotech’s approach with customers, too. Unlike large corporate or “big box” HVAC companies, Envirotech makes decisions locally, without pressure from sales quotas or outside investors. Their technicians are trained to diagnose and solve problems, not upsell unnecessary equipment. Relationships matter more than transactions, and leadership is accessible when questions arise.
For homeowners, that philosophy shows up in practical ways. One of the most common and costly mistakes James sees is simple: not changing air filters regularly. More than 70 percent of service calls are maintenance-related, many of them preventable. Seasonal maintenance visits should be thorough, including inspections of major components, electrical connections, airflow, performance testing, and clear communication without pressure or scare tactics.
Knowing when to replace a system rather than repair it also matters. Aging equipment, frequent breakdowns, rising energy
bills, major component failures, and ongoing comfort issues are all signs that it may be time to consider an upgrade. The key, James emphasizes, is honest guidance and transparency.
At its core, Envirotech is about doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. It’s about accountability, craftsmanship, and community. And after more than four decades in business, that foundation continues to make all the difference.
HVAC Basics Every Homeowner Should Know
Routine HVAC maintenance can prevent costly breakdowns and extend the life of your system. One of the most common and expensive mistakes homeowners make is not replacing air filters regularly. Dirty filters restrict airflow, reduce efficiency, and put unnecessary strain on the system. Filters should typically be changed every one to three months. Another simple but often overlooked task is rinsing off the outdoor AC unit, especially during cottonwood season, to keep the condenser clear and operating efficiently.
A proper seasonal maintenance visit should include a full system inspection, cleaning of key components, performance testing, and clear communication about any concerns—without pressure or unnecessary upselling.
When purchasing a new HVAC system, homeowners should look beyond price. Proper sizing, energy efficiency, quality installation, and warranty support all play a major role in long-term comfort and operating costs. If a system is aging, breaking down frequently, or driving up energy bills, it may be time to consider replacement rather than repair.

Porter Teleo:
When Walls Become Works of Art
In a design world driven by speed and repetition, Porter Teleo stands apart by slowing down and working by hand. Known for highend, hand-painted wallpapers and textiles, the company has become a favorite among leading interior designers across the country, appearing in everything from grand living spaces to celebrity homes.
Porter Teleo was founded by fine artist Kelly Porter and interior designer Bridgett Cochran, a partnership rooted in curiosity and creative confidence. Cochran explains, “Porter Teleo began very organically, sparked by casual conversation about how hand printed wallcoverings are made.” That conversation quickly turned into action. “I remember two quick sentences between us in that initial conversation: ‘We could do that,’ followed immediately by ‘We should do that.’”
Within weeks, Cochran had left a job she loved, and the pair were producing sample yardage in a shared studio. Early features in Interior Design, Metropolitan Home, and Women’s Wear Daily confirmed that their approach resonated. “In those early days each step naturally led to the next, fueled by just enough optimism to keep us going,” Cochran says.

From the beginning, Porter Teleo rejected the shortcuts common in wallpaper production. “Well first off, we paint our papers. These are not printed,” Porter says. “We actually hand paint everything, inch by inch.” Each wallcovering functions as original artwork, made on paper crafted by master artisans in Japan from renewable kozo plants, hand-mixed in crystal-clear river water. “This artisanal process gives our wallcoverings their unique, velvety texture,” Porter adds. “The very fact that these are made by human beings is valuable and precious in and of itself.”
The company’s signature style emerged from the hand-painted process itself. “Working by hand pushed us to embrace irregularity, nuance and restraint,” Cochran says. “We were creating something completely unique, not following the lead of larger more well-known

manufacturers.” Over time, Porter Teleo became known for balancing thoughtful design with subtle imperfection. “Our wallcoverings are truly hand-painted from the start,” Cochran notes. “In many cases our aesthetic is the reference point other manufacturers look to as inspiration.”
Porter explains the creative process: “Bridgett and I work independently at first, as there are countless inspirations and sketches we are working on at any given time. After we get closer to developing an idea we want to launch into an official collection, then we work more collaboratively on color, scale, and thinking about the patterns more holistically.”
A single pattern can go through more than 20 iterations before it is ready for production, each iteration refining the nuance, color, and scale to achieve the final vision.
Porter Teleo wallpapers appear in nearly every type of space imaginable. “We have seen them installed everywhere, from elevator vestibules to orangeries,” Cochran says. Dining rooms are often a favorite, as the hand-painted quality naturally sparks conversation, while smaller spaces such as powder rooms and entryways can create some of the most memorable moments.

High-profile clients have embraced the brand’s expressive approach. Porter highlights installations in Gwen Stefani’s home, Demi Lovato’s living room, and residences belonging to Cameron Diaz, Reese Witherspoon, The Weeknd, and other musicians and athletes. “Some of the most memorable spaces have come from the AD TOP 100 Interior Designers,” Porter says, noting their ability to push boundaries with color, texture, and scale through custom palettes and designs.
Despite its reputation for bold statements, Porter Teleo also excels at subtle luxury. “Subtle patterns, tension between textures, refined
tactile experiences are all present with our hand painted wallcoverings,” Porter says. Products like Fluid Tones offer a soft, enveloping alternative to paint, creating walls that feel more like textiles than flat surfaces.
Both founders correct a common misconception about wallpaper. “One misconception I’ve heard consistently for the past 20 years is that ‘wallpaper is making a comeback,’” Cochran says. “In serious design, wallpaper never truly went away. It isn’t a trend, it’s a fundamental tool.”
Porter Teleo continues to combine craftsmanship, artistry, and high design to create walls that are both functional and beautiful. In their hands, wallpaper is not just decoration but a statement, a conversation starter, and a work of art that elevates every space it touches.
