WOOD-GRILLED SWORDFISH WITH PUMPKIN RAVIOLI AND HARICOT VERTS Season both sides of swordfish and lightly spritz fish and grill with canola oil. While fish is grilling, drop 4 ravioli per order into salted boiling water for 2 minutes. Transfer ravioli to a mixing bowl and lightly toss with 1/2-fluid-ounce of melted seasoned butter. THE PUBLIC HOUSE AT VININGS, LOCATED IN THE HOTEL INDIGO, IS GEARING UP FOR OKTOBERFEST. Running Oct. 7-20, 4-7 p.m., the menu will feature many German delicacies. Appetizer choices will include a salad with baby arugula, celery root and radishes with a mustard seed dressing; a baked parmesan and garlic Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese sauce; and bratwurst, apples, onions and sauerkraut with spiced ale mustard sauce. Their entrees will consist of pork schnitzel with a dill sauce and fried German potatoes with bacon and onions; beer-braised beef short ribs with cheese spaetzle, with a spicy mustard and mushroom sauce; and German pan-fried trout with lemon, parsley and olive oil, and herbed rice. 20

For dessert, they will be offering strawberries and Bavarian cream cake, as well as Black Forest Gateau Cake. In addition to these special dishes, they will also be serving specialty local beers and German beers. During this time, their regular menu will also be available. Open for almost three years now, The Public House is known for its classic American cuisine, especially the 8-ounce prime burgers with a build-your-own-burger bar. Featuring great accompaniments such as bacon, avocados, fried eggs, mushrooms, fried green tomatoes and a couple of choices of cheese, there is something for everyone. “People go crazy and load them up,” Chef Brian Lee says. Another popular item, he says, is the Portobello fries. Covered in panko breadcrumbs and flash-fried until they are a nice golden brown, they’re served with jalapeno ranch dressing. “Even though we are located in a hotel, we’re not your typical hotel restaurant,” Chef Lee says. What makes it extra special is being able to walk out to the patio and pool area, which is adjacent to the restaurant. Patrons can hang out and have a drink and even eat dinner there, and on Tuesday nights they have live music. Being in Vinings where they are surrounded by so many wonderful restaurants, Chef Lee, along with executive Chef Christopher Rucker, go out of their way to make dining at The Public House a memorable experience. Located in the heart of Vinings, the restaurant’s vibe is a combination of a friendly neighborhood bar and fine dining. “Our service is amazing. The servers do their jobs so well, and everyone cares so much about every guest that comes in here. It’s great southern hospitality,” says Kristen Horner, marketing director for 101 Steak. Executive chef Joe Ahn brings together traditional steakhouse food with a bit of Asian flair. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, his eclectic background includes developing dishes from many different cultures, including Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Italian and American. One of 101 Steak’s most popular entrees is the 16-ounce Delmonico. And even though they believe that all you need for a perfect steak is some really good seasoning, sea salt and pepper, they do offer toppings such as caramelized shallots and a smoked blue cheese crust, as well as a variety of different butters and sauces including béarnaise and chimichurri. You can also add a lobster tail and jumbo shrimp to your plate. The incredible sides, which come in small cast-iron dishes, can be ordered from the á la carte menu and include such favorites as crispy Brussels sprouts with a ginger soy glaze, sweet and spicy jalapeno corn brûlée, and creamy Vermont white cheddar macaroni and cheese. YOU DO SPRINKLED: Begin with two graham cracker squares. Place one on a microwave-safe plate and top with chocolate bars and a scoop of marshmallow fluff. Set aside. Take the other graham cracker square and spread marshmallow fluff on half (top + bottom), then coat with sprinkles and set aside. Microwave the half with chocolate + marshmallow for 10 seconds, or until marshmallow fluff is melty. Remove and top with sprinkled graham cracker.
