The lovely thing about your home is that it is the only one exactly like it. As this decade begins, perhaps you are in the market for a new home and ready to create a new expression of your style through design and furnishings. Or, maybe

Locating Hidden Assets in Divorce
In a divorce, courts require parties to identify all marital assets and debts. The exact way in which this takes place can vary. However, most courts require parties to disclose their assets and debts in financial statements early in the case. Discovery usually takes place to various degrees in a divorce as well. There could be interrogatories and requests for production propounded related to marital assets and debt. Depositions often take place. The lawyers may also issue subpoenas. However, some parties may, unfortunately, decide to hide marital assets in a divorce. They might hide assets with the illicit motive that if the court does not discover them, they will get to retain it. This leads many to wonder how they can find and identify hidden assets that are out there. The facts can vary in every case, but below are some common ways: 1.
2.
Bank records can sometimes identify hidden assets. Bank statements can show money coming in and being paid from various sources that do not add up, including cash deposits and withdrawals. They can also show evidence of hidden bank accounts where one is transferring or depositing money. Tax returns can be useful in many cases in locating hidden assets. Many of the schedules that are part of the tax returns can identify the existence of as-

sets that were not disclosed. Social media is becoming more prominent in locating hidden assets. Parties may post photos of assets like boats, vacation properties or jewelry. They also might make posts about these hidden assets. Electronic evidence such as email and text message evidence might be revealing. Parties might have emails where they get monthly statements that involve the hidden assets. They also might have electronic evidence on their devices regarding the purchase itself, including purchase agreements, sales information and statements relating to what they still owe on a note. Private investigators can sometimes help to locate hidden assets. They might be able to take photos and videos of properties, vehicles, boats and other hidden assets. Credit card statements can often be invaluable. Credit cards are sometimes the way they purchase these assets. Their spouse might not even know the credit card exists. When one has credit card debt their spouse does not know about, or other obligations, this can be problematic. When a party has hidden debt their spouse did not know about, this can be upsetting.
judge discovers that a party is being dishonest, this can be very damaging to their credibility. It can also result in a court setting aside a completed divorce to deal with the hidden assets. METAL STRUCTURES INSIDE A HOME OR GARAGE SECURED TO REINFORCED CONCRETE, PROVIDING A SAFE HAVEN WHEN YOUR FAMILY IS THREATENED BY SEVERE WEATHER OR INTRUDERS. When equipped with a highly secure lock, safe rooms double as a walk in safe to store jewelry, important papers, guns and other valuables. The unique keys can only be duplicated with signature authorization by the owner. The optimum time to plan a safe room installation is during new home construction or when remodeling. Safe rooms come in standard sizes, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’ and 4’ x 8’, to fit in closets, under stairs or in the garage. They can also be custom built to meet specific customer requirements. In an existing home garage installation, the safe room takes up about as much room as a washer and dryer. Have a garage sale or donate unwanted items to clear a little space. It’s a good tradeoff for the long-term safety and security of your family and increases home value. With any purchase impacting the value of your home, check the reputation and references of safe room vendors. Get into the details of the quality of material used, how the safe room is put together, installed and meets the industry standard for debris impact testing.

WE ARE THRILLED TO HEAR THAT THIS YEAR’S PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR IS CLASSIC BLUE. The timing could not be more perfect. After a period of much neutrality in design, homeowners are beginning to yearn for bold uses of color and classic blue is both a fearless standout and a classic that will stand the test of time. 01 This classic blue color in addition to variations of the shade can work in any room. 02 Fearless greens and fuschias can be layered for the adventurous, or simple whites, wood tones, and neutral textures can be implemented for a more relaxed environment where the blue takes center stage.

currently love the unexpected play of the color with Farrow a lot of depth. We have used classic blue in mostly neutral spaces in the form of pillows or art, but I also love it in wallpaper wrapping an entire room, or the base color for other colors and materials to build upon. 05 In fact, many of our clients have fallen in love with blue, but it has largely been in the navy family or soft blues, so the vibrant energy in classic blue is very exciting! The color is also dual-purpose and functional as you can make blue work for both a masculine and feminine space. For example, pairing the shade with Farrow and Ball Dead Salmon, light wood tones, and decadent textures feels feminine, soft, and implies a slightly vintage tone.

It strikes a wonderful balance that allows it to serve as an anchor in interiors, or as a bold vibrant accent. It is a color that feels at once classic, wild, and pop art. It really is a chameleon among its blue family members. OUTDOOR LIVING PLANNING THE PERFECT PATIO SPACE
22
Tulsa Lifestyle | March 2020
SPRING IS NEAR! While sleepy cold weather can put a damper on backyard planning, springtime is a chance to start fresh with a new patio or updated patio features. Here are some ideas to help you plan some outdoor fun for family and friends this year.
PAT I O PAV E R S V E R S U S C O N C R E T E It’s nice to have a mud-free area just outside the backdoor. Whether a small patio or a grand veranda for entertaining, patio spaces make for a clean, easy-to-maintain backyard living space. Selecting the best building material for your space is both a matter of taste and budget.
Concrete is a cost-effective and durable option requiring little maintenance. Stamped and stained options help to beautify a boring gray slab. For stamped concrete, there are several stamping options that resemble various brick or stone patterns. Concrete stain can either be applied after the pour or as integral color added to the concrete before pouring. + CONCRETE PROS - lower cost, great for a cost-effective large area + CONCRETE CONS - tends to crack over time in some applications Pavers are especially popular because of their custom look and durability. They do have a higher average cost per square foot than concrete. However, for many backyard projects, the cost difference can be minimal when compared to a stained and stamped concrete option. For smaller projects, pavers are an often-overlooked perfect choice. Fun fact: Pavers are up to four times stronger than concrete. + PAVER PROS - customized-look, stronger than poured concrete, simple maintenance and repair + PAVER CONS - higher cost, may come loose individually CONTINUED >

THE POPULAR PERGOLA Often chosen as an affordable adornment to a patio space, pergolas are a pleasing addition to many backyard patios. The simple and sturdy architecture couples well with the subtleties of each unique design. A pergola can tie-in nicely with your home or provide an eye-catching contrast for an outdoor living space. A few ideas for adding a pergola to your outdoor space: + Great place to add some overhead outdoor lighting + Add an inviting touch to a walkway + Create a physical and visual boundary for your patio space + Allow vines or other climbing plants to create a nice canopy
OUTDOOR KITCHENS Whether a simple charcoal grill or an elaborate twelve burner gas cook top, few things beat stepping out to grill for family and friends. Some don’t stop there; full outdoor kitchens have become a popular way for families to extend their “livable” living space. Musthave outdoor kitchen amenities: + A grill + Plenty of counter space + Refrigerator or built-in cooler + Must-have seating + Keep the party going late with lighting + Watch the game on your covered or screened-in patio

AT WHAT IS TYPICALLY THE PEAK OF THOUSANDS OF TULIPS BLOOMING, TULSA BOTANIC GARDEN WILL BE HOSTING THEIR THIRD ANNUAL BOTANICAL: A WEEKEND OF CULINARY WONDER. Over three days, the Garden has three distinct events exploring the food, drink, and culture of a storied region of the world. Proceeds from the events support the Garden, a non-profit organization. The event is April 3-5 and will explore Israeli food and culture, which is gaining international recognition. Chef Gabriel Israel, culinary director at L28 Culinary Platform in Tel Aviv, is the featured chef. Burrara Salad, grilled peaches, cherry tomatoes. Photo: Jonathan Ben Chaim
Chef Gabriel’s culinary style is inspired by the combination of his North African-Ashkenazi roots, his free-spirited artistic side and a reference of NY-Jewish style food from his time living and working in New York. Before joining L28, Gabriel worked in New York City for Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud, was the head chef at Yotel Hotel and later opened his own Shuka Food Truck - while also focusing on his other passion as a graffiti and tattoo artist. He was involved with conceptualizing and building L28 Culinary Platform as a restaurant, an accelerator for innovative chef entrepreneurs and an incubator for creative interpretations of Israeli cuisine. The Botanical weekend begins Friday, April 3, with A Taste of Tel Aviv, featuring gourmet mezze, cocktails, wines and music. The Garden’s Passport Dinner on Saturday night will include a multi-course dinner by Chef Israel and the local culinary team. The dinner will start with cocktails among the tulips in the Garden followed by a one-of-a-kind dinner with wine pairings inside. Sunday afternoon is The Tasting where guests will learn about the culture, food, agriculture, and history of the region through short talks and a guided sampling of regional foods. Naama Shefi, executive director of the Jewish Food Society, will be sharing about Jewish and Israeli food and heritage. For information and tickets visit BotanicalTulsa.org or call 918-289-0330.

Bonus: You can reuse the insulation and ice packs in kids’ lunch boxes, on road trips or in your own lunches at work.

ingredients + Prep
Depending on what you order, you may need some of your own supplies. When you select your meals, think about what you will need to cook the food in and if any other kitchen utensils would be helpful. Have them ready to go so you don’t have to make any last-minute trips to the store, defeating the purpose of getting your box delivered! If the meals are foods you would enjoy reheated, you could do all of your cooking the day you get the box to meal prep for your week, or you can just store the ingredients to the other meals in your fridge and cook them throughout the week.

cooking
If you’re a little less-experienced in the kitchen, meal kits are great for learning! Read the instructions carefully before you get started so you don’t feel frazzled while the heat is up high, and take your time. If you are a more seasoned chef, feel free to take your own spin on the recipes and add some extra flavor or swap out ingredients to make it perfect for your palate.

let’s eat!
This is the really fun part! It’s time to start taste-testing. Make a note tab in your phone for tracking what you love and what isn’t your favorite. That way, when it’s time to select more meals, you know what you have tried and what you absolutely have to try again. Don’t forget to ask your family what was a hit and a miss. Who knows— maybe the kids love some of the Purple Carrot recipes and don’t even notice how many veggies they are eating!
