U.S. NATIONAL WHITE WATER CENTER'S CRAFT DINNER SERIES CONTINUES The U.S. National White Water Center's Craft Dinner Series is a collaboration between the USNWC's River's Edge restaurant and local or Carolinas-based breweries. Each Craft Dinner features four courses that are individually tailored to the taste profile of four different beer samples from that evening's brewery partner. The last two dinners in the series are Burial Beer Co. on March 4 and Amor Artis Brewing on March 20. They will begin at 7 p.m., with check-in starting at 6:15 p.m. Each guest will receive a 5-ounce beer sample with each course and an additional selection of beer and refreshments will be available for purchase. PANTHERS TO ADD FIELD-LEVEL SUITES According to the Charlotte Business Journal, the Carolina Panthers are currently in the process of adding 14 field-level suites with premium food and beverage services at Bank of America Stadium. The suites will replace 900 existing seats and are scheduled to be completed by the start of the 202021 season. Each suite will have a minimum capacity of 12 people, which, the Charlotte Business Journal noted, will likely accommodate 168-180 people when all 14 are utilized at full capacity. Construction of the suites will likely cost around $15 to $20 million.

It is quite possible to produce delicious, healthy chef-style meals on the fly by mastering a simple reduction pan sauce technique that opens a whole world of possibilities. Usually, the protein would be seared alone, or breaded, followed by the sauce made in the same pan. Here we did a ‘reverse breading’ technique, where the chicken cutlets are dipped in seasoned flour, and then in an herby egg wash. With simple steps, we created a wonderful piquant tangerine and olive pan sauce to complete the dish. Enjoy!

4. Cut the peels off two of the tangerines. Working over a bowl, remove the segments. Set the segments aside separately. Squeeze the juice from the remaining two tangerines into a small bowl. 5. Place a large plate or baking sheet in a warmer or low oven. 6. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add two tablespoons of oil to coat the pan. 7. Working in batches, quickly dip the chicken breasts first in the flour, then the egg wash and panfry until golden– approximately two minutes per side. Heat more oil and continue until all chicken is done. Remove serving plate from warmer or oven. Place chicken on plate to keep warm. Make the Reduction Sauce 1. Add a little more oil to the pan. Add shallots and garlic, and sauté until translucent. 2. Deglaze the pan with the orange liqueur, allow the alcohol to evaporate. 3. Add the orange juice to pan, reduce by half. 4. Add the broth, reduce by half. 5. Add the seasonings, olives, rice vinegar, soy and spices.

ARTICLE MELINDA BURRIS WILMS THE INTERIOR DESIGN SOCIETY The Interior Design Society (IDS) is an independent national organization that boasts a membership of more than 2,500 members. It is one of the nation’s largest design organizations dedicated to serving the residential interior design industry. The four core values that guide IDS are professionalism, community, influence and growth. Founded in 1973, the IDS National headquarters is located in High Point, NC, the world’s home furnishings capital. THE 2020 IDS CHARLOTTE DESIGNER CHARITY SHOWHOUSE EVENT IDS Charlotte President and IDS Showhouse Chairperson, Audrey Clawson, describes the inaugural Showhouse Endeavor in this way: “The

Showhouse Event is all-encompassing. This endeavor was born a couple of years ago with a vision and I believe we have progressed to a story about giving back to our community while moving ahead to showcasing the best in home design.” In detailing the purpose of the Showhouse Event, Audrey explains, “These IDS Charlotte Designer Charity Showhouses, with their well-designed rooms, are created and exist in hopes that we might capture something essential about its contributors, our designers, vendors and builders, while benefiting the community through raising awareness of our charities and changing lives for the future betterment of society. Audrey notes the level of collaboration involved in hosting three Charity Showhouses: “It’s going to take a village (Audrey’s personal mantra) to have three successful Charity Showhouses. However, we have assembled a great team of over 90 volunteers and in doing so, we have created a synergy between the charities, builders, IDS sponsors, vendors, designer members, including IDS National, the Town of Davidson, the Charlotte community, etc. This synergy brings with it unique individual skill sets and interests to the Showhouse Event. The Designer Charity Showhouses will attract people from all around the region who have an interest in real estate, interior design, community and philanthropy. There is a collaborative spirit running through IDS Charlotte and it has created an unstoppable momentum.” Audrey remarks that IDS is founded on a commitment to helping interior designers grow their businesses, develop their talents, inspire each other and have a positive impact on their communities. This Showhouse Event is a tangible reflection of these goals. PARTICIPATING CHARITIES All event proceeds from the 2020 Charlotte Designer Showhouse Event will benefit Motor Racing Outreach in conjunction with The Hendrick Family Foundation, The Dale Jr. Foundation and Operation Finally Home.
