LADIES OF MEDINA COUNTY, WHERE WOULD WE BE WITHOUT YOU? It is during May that we, as a country, celebrate mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers. But here at Medina County Lifestyle, we also want to recognize the other women who build our community and all of your roles as well. It takes a village to raise a child, and our village has women who are our children’s teachers, doctors, first responders, law enforcement officers, authors, entertainers, nurses, social workers, counselors and so much more.

Place butter in large, microwave-safe bowl and heat for about one minute on high power until completely melted. 4. Add the remaining dough ingredients and stir to combine. If necessary, add a tablespoon or two of extra Bisquick so dough isn’t overly sticky. 5. Using your hands, form approximately 22 to 24 mounds of dough, roll each mound through the cinnamon-sugar mixture, and place in greased pan, filling it evenly. 6. Evenly sprinkle any remaining cinnamon-sugar over dough and set pan aside. 7. In a 2-quart saucepan, melt one cup of butter to make the sauce. 8. Add the brown sugar and heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for two minutes and then remove from heat. 9. Pour sauce over dough balls in pan. 10. Bake for about 22 to 26 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of one of the larger mounds of dough comes out clean. 11. Allow monkey bread to cool in pan for about 10 minutes. 12. Place a large plate over the top of the pan and invert to remove monkey bread from pan. 13. Optional: drizzle caramel sauce over monkey bread and serve! Recipe adapted from AverieCooks.com.

Easy Eggs Benedict Yield: 4 servings INGREDIENTS + 8 pieces of bacon or 4 pieces of Canadian bacon + 2 tablespoons chopped parsley, for garnish + 4 eggs + 2 teaspoons white or rice vinegar + 2 English muffins, halved + Butter + Optional toppings: parsley or scallions Hollandaise Sauce + 10 tablespoons unsalted butter (if using salted butter, omit the added salt) + 3 egg yolks + 1 tablespoon lemon juice + 1/2 teaspoon salt + Dash of cayenne or hot sauce DIRECTIONS 1. Add the vinegar and bring water-vinegar mixture back to boil. Once boiling, lower heat to a bare simmer. 3. Working one egg at a time, crack an egg into a small bowl and slip it into the barely simmering water. Once it begins to solidify, slip in another egg until you have all four cooking. Turn off the heat, cover the pan and let sit for four minutes. Remove eggs with a slotted spoon once done poaching. 4. Use blender make Hollandaise sauce. First, melt unsalted butter. Then, add egg yolks, lemon juice, salt and a dash of cayenne or hot sauce in a blender and blend on medium to medium-high speed for 20-30 seconds. Turn blender down to the lowest setting and very slowly add the melted butter while continuing to blend. 5. Toast English muffins to desired level of crispiness. 6. Assemble by buttering each toasted English muffin half. Top each with two slices of bacon or one slice of Canadian bacon. Place a poached egg on top of bacon and top of Hollandaise sauce. Optionally, top with parsley or scallions. Recipe adapted from Elise Bauer of SimplyRecipes.com. CONTINUED >

Whether you’re in search of an above-ground
or in-ground pool, they offer beautiful custom designs that begin with a simple click or call that is followed by an initial in-person consultation. During this initial consultation, everything from your pool dreams and ideas to your budget and property capabilities will be discussed. Best of all, there is no need to deal with multiple contractors for in-ground pool projects. Mr. Pools does it all: pool install, cement, fence, electric and gas. Amazingly, Mr. Pools’ construction process can be as short as seven days on in-ground pools, weather permitting. After the construction has been completed, the Mr. Pools team will teach you about the chemistry needed to operate and maintain your new pool, as well as give you free water testing at their retail location. All that will be left to do is enjoy your outdoor oasis. 2. SERVICES If you already have a pool or you’re in the market to get one, but you’re nervous about the upkeep, Mr. Pools has you covered. Their team of pool and spa experts offers a plethora of pool services to keep your outdoor oasis the way it should be – an oasis. Mr. Pools’ most popular services are spring openings and winter closings. In the spring, their team prepares your pool for a season of cannonballs and splash competitions. This service varies slightly based on whether you have an above-ground or in-ground pool but will ensure that your pool is safe, clean and ready for maximum enjoyment all summer long. At the end of the season, their professional winter closing will properly protect your pool and equipment from the harsh Ohio winter. Mr. Pools also offers pool vacuuming, chemical balancing, pool inspection, insurance claim and liner replacement services. Their service technicians can also service heaters, filters and salt systems. 3. POOL AND SPA PRODUCTS When it comes to creating your dream pool, Mr. Pools doesn’t construct your pool and say “sayonara.” Their retail location, Mr. Pools and More, is a mecca for all things pool and spa-related so that you have access to everything you need to maintain and enjoy your new pool. When it comes to maintenance, their store offers great prices on bromine and chlorine, pool vacuums, automatic pool cleaners, pool covers, net skimmers, water testing kits and so much more. Mr. Pools and More also sells fun pool accessories like slides, diving boards, water features and more. CityLifestyle.com/MedinaCounty
