Everything Including The Kitchen Sink Kitchen sinks, faucets and lighting come in a wide variety of finishes and styles. With help from experts in the industry, finding a combination that suits your personal aesthetic and budget can be easy. There are many choices when evaluating kitchen sink materials, including: concrete, solid-surfacing, stone, copper and other precious metals, with the end goal being a blended approach of what brings your kitchen together. There are corner sinks, apron-front or farmhouse styles, trough, undermount, and bar/prep sinks. There is also a vast selection of kitchen faucets from which to choose: bridge faucets, pot fillers, pull-down faucets, and bar/prep sink faucets available in polished chrome, oil-rubbed bronze, nickel and other precious metals. At Dahl Décor there is something to suit every taste and price range.

A Soaking Tub for Relaxation A soaking tub can provide a more therapeutic and almost medicinal soak, relaxing your muscles quite similar to a hot tub or Jacuzzi, as the entire body is fully submerged. The purpose of a soaking tub is to cover your body with water, meaning you will no longer have your knees or arms exposed to the cold compared to more traditional bathtub designs. Soaking bathtubs come in four primary materials: Acrylic, Enameled Cast Iron, Stone Resin and Wood. Acrylic is a flexible material that comes in a wide variety of different shapes and designs, with the drawback of not having as much heat retention when compared to other materials such as cast iron or stone resin. Enameled cast iron is another popular material due to it’s excellent durability, easy to clean surface and stellar heat retention, though it carries the negative of being quite heavy, adding more stress to installation and floor weight when filled with water.

Vessel Bowl Sink and Wall Mounted Faucets One of the must-have bathroom trends these days is a vessel bowl sink. These are currently all the rage in bathroom remodels and new construction, these sinks sit on top of the vanity countertop, unlike the more commonly known undermount sinks that are installed beneath the counter. Adding a vessel sink really is something beautifully unique, and it has that wow factor when you see it. It is not something that you see in every bathroom. You can find vessels in all kinds of shapes and styles to create an upscale look and more streamlined bathroom vanity space. Wall-mounted bathroom sink faucets are a popular choice as well in combination with the vessel sink, they appeal to a sleek, modern look. There are plenty of options in the most popular finishes, such as nickel, brushed nickel, brass, chrome and polished chrome. You'll also find niche finishes like bronze, oil-rubbed bronze, polished brass, satin nickel and more. March 2020 | Loveland & South Lifestyle

Loveland & South Lifestyle | March 2020

R.D. BAKER, BROKER AND PARTNER OF AMBASSADOR COLORADO REAL ESTATE, HAS MADE A HUGE IMPRESSION ON COUNTLESS INDIVIDUALS IN THE COMMUNITY. Before entering into real estate, R.D. was a coach and teacher. He started out in real estate working for a homebuilder. His knowledge of real estate and background in education are a couple of the many reasons R.D.’s clients speak so highly of him. While R.D. has quite an impressive background already, he was also a pastor. “I like to be personable, life is not about transactions, but rather about building relationships.” R.D. continues, “Business to me is the opportunity to have an impact on an individual that I wouldn’t have had otherwise.”

“Working with R.D. was the best decision we ever made.” – Shuang Yi

Randall and Eva Snyder have known R.D. for roughly 11 years. They first met when attending the same church. When they decided to sell their home, “R.D. was the natural choice,” Eva explains, “because of his morals and values, and he has a really good idea of what to do and what not to do.” R.D. would make regular visits to the Snyder’s home to help paint and repair things to prepare for the sale. “He really helped with the process, everything was seamless,” says Eva. The Snyders purchased another home and R.D. was their go-to because he was so knowledgeable and quick to respond. R.D. has a lot of experience, but even more than that, he truly cares for his clients. “I think sometimes people maybe get a real estate agent who is just in it for the money, but R.D. really puts a lot of work into what he does, which I think reflects on his honest attitude and wanting to make sure that you are successful in the process of buying or selling a house.” Eva says. “He’s a great guy, we love him dearly.” Shaung Yi and Sherri Sun have known RD since 2016, when Sherri met R.D. at an open house. R.D. showed them some nice homes, but ultimately they decided they wanted to buy a new build. This was the couple’s first experience with buying a new build and R.D.’s background in home construction came in very useful during this process. They signed their contract in 2017, and the house was ready to move into in 2019. During the two-year process there were a number of issues that came up, and R.D. worked hard to ensure that everything went as smooth as possible. “He would drive from Loveland for even minor things. He would send emails to the company to check on the progress of the house and would let us know what was going on,” says Shuang. “He was so helpful, and from that we became friends. He

In total, WeBuild has provided cabinetry for approximately 5,500 residential units since its inception. The custom cabinets can be purchased by anyone wishing to save money and contribute to the greater good. Meghan Morris, the Director of ReStore Operations and Human Resources in Loveland, shares that WeBuild cabinets can cost 30-50% less than a comparable product from a traditional retail store. “It’s solid-wood custom cabinets at a ReStore price,” Morris states. Cindi Hammond, Executive Director of Loveland’s Habitat for Humanity branch, shares that “the craftsmanship of the cabinets far exceeds many things that customers are seeing in the marketplace. The attention to detail, and customization has been impeccable.”

IT MAKES A HUGE CHANGE IN THEIR LIVES... THAT’S WHY I’VE COMMITTED MY LIFE. I’VE BEEN HERE 22 YEARS, I STARTED THE PROGRAM, AND I LOVE MY JOB.” - KEN BAYLOR

People interested in having custom cabinetry built should visit Habitat’s ReStore in Loveland to see a brochure or to speak with Meghan. Options are endless, both in variety of what can be built and materials used. “They can really do anything,” Morris says, “it’s the same as any other custom cabinet maker.” A brochure is available online at habitatcolorado.org/webuild-program. Customers then make an appointment with Meghan Morris at the ReStore in Loveland to begin the process of creating their custom furnishings. The design ideas are

how you can get involved

PURCHASE WEBUILD CABINETS: Cabinets are available to the general public through Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore at 5250 N. Garfield Avenue, or call (970) 6697343 to speak with Meghan. A catalogue of available cabinetry designs can be at: habitatcolorado.org/webuild-program.

DONATE TO/SHOP AT RESTORE: The ReStore is “the largest fundraising arm of Habitat. That is how we can build as many homes in Loveland as we do,” according to Morris. Donate gently used goods and shop the treasures offered. Used inventory includes furniture, clothing, construction materials and more; new items include mattresses, area rugs, bamboo memory foam pillows, throw blankets, and more.

VOLUNTEER: Volunteers are needed in a wide variety of capacities, from sorting donations to answering phones, or even in the construction of a home. “We will teach you everything you need to know on the day that you build. It is a very supportive environment,” Hammond promises. For more information, please visit: lovelandhabitat.org/volunteer.

IF your eyes get red, seem to water excessively, feel scratchy or your vision fluctuates you probably do!

Most people diagnosed with Dry Eye actually have symptoms caused by MGD. Meibomain gland dysfunction is one of the underlying causes of dry eye. The tear glands in the eyelids become blocked and the surface of the eye is left exposed to the dry Colorado air. Dr Hulme Dry Eye Center treats MGD with the LipiFlow device that utilizes Thermal Pulsation to direct gentle heat and massage to remove blockages from the meibomian glands. The treatment is designed to restore the natural oil flow to the tear film that covers the eye’s surface.
