Warm days, lazy nights and the smell of backyard barbecues… It must be June. June brings us the summer solstice, and it officially kicks off summertime in Hendersonville. It is the time of year that we all tend to slow down just a bit to enjoy everything that Sumner County has to offer. June is also the month in which we celebrate Father’s Day, the day that we take the time to show our dads how much we love and appreciate them. In recognition of this special holiday, we dedicate the June issue of Hendersonville Lifestyle to honoring all the special men in our lives. We begin our journey by introducing you to four outstanding gentlemen who give tirelessly of their time and talents to make the City by the Lake such a great place to live. We also lightened things up a bit by spotlighting some little known fun facts about our gents, as teased by this month's cover. Next, we take a short field trip to Wonderland at Rock Castle to explore an annual event that is fun for kids and adults of all ages. Continuing, we tell you about several Father’s Day gift ideas that are sure to delight the most hard-to-please dads. Along the way, be sure to check out our City Scene and Business Monthly sections. Hendersonville Chamber Hosts 2nd Annual Magnolia Market The Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce held the second annual Middle TN Magnolia Market on Saturday, May 7th at the brand-new Premier Event Centre. Featuring over 50 vendors, we are certain there was something for everyone to enjoy. Magnolia Market included vendors specializing in baby, beauty, fashion, food, health, home décor and more. Along with the shopping, there was live music, special entertainment and free gifts for the first 100 Moms and Moms-to-be.

Vol State Holds Spring 2022 Commencement Volunteer State Community College hosted a commencement exercise to award 372 graduates their degrees on Saturday, May 7 on the Gallatin main campus. President Orinthia Montague presided over the ceremony, which was held in the Pickel Field House gymnasium. Dr. Carole Bucy, a long-time faculty member, and well-known Tennessee historian, served as commencement speaker. The Distinguished Alumna speaker was Ms. Lori Johnson. During the event, special Division Excellence Awards were also given to selected students.

FOOD, FUN AND FRIVOLITY AT THE AREA’S LARGEST EASTER EGG EXTRAVAGANZA
Rock Castle
Springtime in the City by the Lake is one of the most beautiful times of year, filled with warming weather, blue skies and blooming flowers. It is also the time that brings the return of the much-anticipated annual rite of the Easter egg hunt. Filled with colorful eggs and excited, happy children, local Easter egg hunts abound across the region. However, there are none which are larger and more involved than the annual Wonderland event held at Rock Castle state historic site. Along with hosting the area’s largest egg hunt, Wonderland also features games, crafts, bounce houses, food trucks and a special tea party hosted by characters such as the Mad Hatter, Alice and the Queen of Hearts. This year marked the 10th anniversary of Wonderland, and it drew a large crowd of children ranging from in age from toddlers to 12-year-olds.
