Happy Fall Y’all! We’re diving into one of my favorite times of the year. Fall brings cooler temps, the buzz of a new school year, and—for those of us who break out the pumpkin décor right after Labor Day—the unofficial start of the holiday season. It’s also a nostalgic time for me. This month marks 21 years since I moved to this city I adore. I still remember driving over that last big hill and spotting the bright lights of Las Vegas. I was heading to UNLV, ready to start a new chapter—and what ended up becoming a whole new life. So much has changed since then, but one thing remained the same: Vegas has always felt like home. There’s just something about this city. It follows no one and does everything with its own unique flair—and that’s exactly what we’re celebrating in this month’s Style Issue. We’re highlighting those who bring their own unique style into everything they do. First up: my dear friend Lindsey Gurk, founder of Get Your Pink Back. What began as a fashion blog right here in Las Vegas has grown into a nationally recognized brand and community of support for women across the country. Lindsey’s inspiring journey to launching Get Your Pink Back has created a platform that uplifts women, encourages resilience, and reminds us all to reclaim our sparkle. For Lindsey Gurk, influence isn’t about aesthetics—it’s about authenticity, community, and rediscovering joy in the journey. Today, millions know her as a humor-filled, relatable creator on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, as well as the founder behind the empowering movement, “Get Your Pink Back.” But before her candid reels and “flamboyances” of followers, she was simply a Las Vegas local with a knack for personal style and a blog—The Nomis Niche. “I was going to show up just as I was. I was just going to be myself. Everything changed THE VEGAS SPARK: WHERE ANYTHING GOES
“Ahh, the good ole’ Nomis Niche years!” Lindsey laughs, remembering her 2016 blogging debut. “Nomis was my maiden name (Simon) spelled backwards. I thought it was very creative, but no one knew how to say it—ha!” Her blog was born from a desire to “show how anyone could create an outfit on a budget, whether it was for a 9-5 job or something to wear for date night.” But more than frugality, Las Vegas itself shaped her early approach. “Las Vegas was a HUGE influence on my fashion choices because I always felt like in a city like Vegas, anything goes! With all the concerts, shows, unique restaurants… getting dressed for these types of things was always so exciting. There was always something going on to get dressed up for.”
FINDING HER VOICE: “EVERYTHING CHANGED AFTER THAT”
Her online rise, however, wasn’t a straight line. “When 2020 hit I was pregnant with our second child and rarely left our home. Fashion wasn’t really top of mind at that point, and I started to lose not only my passion for hobbies that once excited me, but also I started to really lose myself altogether.” She admits, “Truthfully, I was just trying to do what I saw everyone else doing on Instagram, and perfectly stylized photos was never ‘me’ or what I was meant to do.” Around that time, TikTok started gaining momentum, and Lindsey saw her creative spark reignite through short videos and lower expectations of perfection. But as she considered quitting altogether, her husband offered simple wisdom: “I support whatever you want, but you’re having fun with this TikTok thing, right? Why not just do that? Just for fun.” That’s when

after that—sharing the real moments, joys and struggles, is what helped me find my voice and connect with others.”
she made the pivotal decision: “I was going to show up just as I was. I was just going to be myself. Everything changed after that.” Embracing life’s messy beauty, Lindsey began “openly talking about motherhood; the joys, the struggles, the moments that made me laugh and the ones that made me feel like I was losing my mind.” These unfiltered glimpses, she reflects, were “really cathartic (and I probably shared too much at times!), but I also found a group of people who seemed to understand. When you’re feeling lonely or isolated, a simple ‘I get it’ really goes a long way.” Eventually, Lindsey returned to her old loves: “making skits, creating songs, and even got into putting together outfits again. My faith grew, I found my voice, and I learned who I was always meant to be. That’s a freeing feeling.”
AUTHENTIC STYLE: COMFORT, CONFIDENCE, AND BALANCE
Style, for Lindsey, comes from comfort and confidence, not chasing trends. “If I’m ever sharing an outfit, I try to share where I’m wearing it or who I’m going to be with. Because that’s really what it’s all about. What you’re doing IN the clothes.” She enjoys filming Get Ready With Me sessions, which recall those early days “getting ready with friends.” And when it comes to trends? “I know what I like, I know what works, and I just want to be comfortable… I prefer personal style over what’s ‘in’ at the moment. If you feel good in what you’re wearing… then you’re doing it right.” CONTINUED >

“To me, Get Your Pink Back means all the bright and beautiful things that can come from struggle and selflessness. How light shines Her signature look now mixes “feminine with more masculine pieces,” reflecting a journey toward self-acceptance. “We have a running joke in our family that I tend to dress like a 12-year-old boy at times. But you know what? I like it! It works with my lifestyle.” Where city-Lindsey would “never leave the house without heels and lipstick,” today’s version opts for sneakers but “will forever love a great blush nude lip color.”
GET YOUR PINK BACK: TURNING STRUGGLES INTO LIGHT
The heart of Lindsey’s recent impact is Get Your Pink Back (getyourpinkback.com), her wellness brand and movement born from personal pain— and flamingos. “Get Your Pink Back started in 2022 when I went on a girls’ trip to meet people I didn’t even know outside of Instagram!” At the time, she was “spiraling into a really dark time in my life but was too scared to admit it.” On that trip, a new friend shared a story about flamingos: “both male and female can actually lose their pink coloring while raising their chicks because so much of their food and energy goes to their little ones. But eventually, they get it back.” “We both started crying and saying, ‘I want to get my pink back!’ I felt so much hope that if God made these creatures put on display how I was feeling in that moment, then surely one day I would get my pink back, just like the flamingos.” When she shared the story online, the support flooded in. “People started making comments that they wanted this message on a T-shirt! Many women showed up to help make this happen, and I’m forever grateful for all the encouragement.”

That her pieces remind others that “even if you feel pale pink right now, whether it’s because of postpartum depression, anxiety, grief, etc. that hope is never lost, and you WILL get your pink back. They’re also designed to be conversation starters. If someone asks what your sweatshirt says, you can share the story. Because like I said a simple ‘I get it’ can go a long way to someone who’s struggling. And I believe being there for one another is the best approach to style there is.” CONTINUED >

One of my happy places is sitting in front of a museum wall gallery. I can admire art for hours, and if I’m with a friend, there’s no telling how long we’ll sit, reflect, and share our individual perspectives. If you’ve admired gallery wall displays in magazines, catalogs, or on social media and would like to create one in your home, it’s much easier than you might think.
WHY CHOOSE A GALLERY WALL HANGING SYSTEM? The beauty of a gallery wall hanging system lies in its flexibility and ease of use. Traditional picture hanging methods can leave walls full of holes, making it cumbersome to adjust placements or update the display. A hanging system, however, allows for easy adjustments without additional damage to your walls. This feature is particularly advantageous for renters or anyone who likes to refresh their decor frequently.

Swing Style HOMETOWN JUNIORS MAKING NATIONAL HEADLINES ON THE LINKS
Tre DeSantis and Charlotte Halstead share more in common than both being born in April. At just 6 and 10 years old, respectively, both are excelling in a sport that has brought them great enjoyment and even greater success. Their stats and records are staggering–both on their own and combined–and with no signs of slowing down, the junior golfers are proving that the future of golf is already here. From the moment he could walk, golf was part of Henderson native Tre’s life. By age 4, he was a champion in the U.S. Kids Las Vegas local tour where he won in the 6 and under division. His second title would quickly follow before his 5th birthday in the fall of 2024 at the St. George local tour, setting a record of 12 under par for six events. Tre is now close to 30 overall wins in the U.S. Kids events, a skill-developing competition aimed for young golfers between the ages of 5 and 18. The U.S. Kids competitions have been an important part of his record-setting success. As of July 2025, Tre has played in 23 events with a total scoring of -65 across a number of local events, regionals, and state invitationals. For anyone unfamiliar with golf, that is objectively impressive–negative scores in the sport mean that it takes a player fewer strokes to complete a round than it does for the average golfer.

It is this kind of achievement that has landed Tre at premier events like the U.S. Kids Worlds Championships at Pinehurst last year where he finished seventh over a three-day competition and a total of two under par. This year, he has added to his trophy collection with unprecedented wins at the Jekyll Island Regional in Georgia, North Carolina State Invitational in Pinehurst, and the Washington State Invitational at Chambers Bay. For Charlotte, also known as Charlie, golf became part of her everyday life during the COVID-19 pandemic when soccer, her first sport, was shut down due to restrictions. She started lessons in the fall of 2020 at the age of 5, first at Bowers Golf Academy and then the Eric Meeks School of Golf, and the rest is history (making). Her love for the sport was immediate, and soon enough, her drive and talent led her to the U.S. Kids Local Tour in May 2021. Many wins at local and regional tournaments would follow and result in victorious participation at prestigious events like the Notah Begay Junior Golf National Championships, U.S. Kids World Championships and the FCG Callaway World Championships in Palm Springs, where Charlie was crowned a World Champion in the Girls 8 and under division in 2023. She was also the youngest to earn the Nevada Junior State Amateur title for 13-14 division in July 2025. With multiple appearances and top finishes in notable tournaments, Charlie is demanding attention. This past April, she was one of only 10 finalists nationwide in the age 7-9 division to make it to the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals where she represented the Southwest Region. Her ultimate goal is to join the Ladies Professional Golf Association, and with stats like three hole-in-ones in competition, she is well on her way.
