Right before I wrote this letter, I was looking through old photos from college. This summer marked my 20th anniversary in this city, which I never planned to fall in love with as I have. (I know so many people can relate!)
The year was 2004. We were young, wild, and free living in Las Vegas for college during a time when Vegas was still small enough to where everyone had a guy to get you in anywhere you wanted, for free. The Circle Bar at the old Hard Rock Hotel was the epicenter of the universe to launch an incredible Friday night. Those who lived it will know EXACTLY what I’m talking about. There was an energy walking through a casino back then, not knowing where the night was going to take you, but that an epic adventure was on the horizon. It was a truly magical time.
Not so magical - our style selection. I’d just moved here from Southern California and found myself in a city of stilettos when all I’d owned prior had been beach bum sandals. It was a new era of painful heels, “going out tops,” bubble bottom dresses, and enough self-tanner to make it look like we’d just gotten back from a trip to the tropics in mid-January. You couldn’t tell us that we didn’t look like a million bucks, but fast forward 20 years later, and I’m cackle laughing at our outfit choices. We all have the “what were we thinking?” moments when looking back, but the truth is, that WAS our style back then, in that era of time, and we go through many in our lifetime.
Your sense of style says a lot about you as a person - laid back, casual, dressy, formal, professional - all the little decisions we make in a day, or even lack thereof, have something to say about us. Whatever your sense of style is, own it, and be one thousand percent authentic to you.
In this issue, we share all things style. We sit down with Wardrobe Wisdom Author Joyce Toti who gives us tips on how to use what we have in our closet, we hear about Sol Up’s new stylish solar showrooms, and we learn about smile styles from Radiant Smiles.
