he Galleria at Sunset is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year. The Galleria opened in February 1996 and prides itself on being the hub of the Henderson

community. It is the city of Henderson’s only indoor mall, and, with past renovations, has turned into a desert oasis and a central gathering place for the community. With plenty of open space and a beautiful, textured landscape, this two-story mall contains more than 100 retail stores for a visitor’s every need. The five anchors of Galleria are Macy’s, JCPenney, Dillard’s, Kohl’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Within the mall, there are many men's and women’s apparel stores such as H&M, Forever 21 and Hollister, in addition to services such as AT&T, LensCrafters and MasterCuts. The Galleria isn’t all about shopping, either. More than 50 different commu-

nity events are hosted at the Galleria every year for families and friends to enjoy. Events include everything from sales at your favorite stores to monthly meetings for different guests. For mall walkers, the Sunstriders meet once a month to learn and discuss different health topics, and for kids the Funset Kid’s Club meets monthly, offering kids a chance to make friends and participate in activities such as arts and crafts. Events like these not only help support the businesses but also continue to bring the Henderson community together.

In addition to the shopping and events offered at the Galleria, it also has plenty of dining options for visitors to enjoy. There are currently 11 fast-food restaurants and five full-service dining options with the latest restaurant, Bobby Mao’s Chinese Kitchen and Mexican Cantina, slated to open in early 2018. For quicker meals, guests can enjoy restaurants such as Sbarro or Auntie Anne’s, or enjoy a family night out at full-service restaurants like Gen Korean BBQ or Bravo Cucina Italiana. These different options provide food for every guest, whether they’re looking to grab a snack or enjoy a full meal. For 21 years, the Galleria at Sunset has continued to evolve and wow its 4,360,000 annual visitors in every way. Over the past several years, the Galleria has undergone renovations to enhance the guest experience. The mall’s first renovation was done in 2002 and added 37,000 feet of retail space, including the addition of Dick’s Sporting Goods. The 2014 renovation was an $8 million full-scale interior renovation that helped create the beautiful open landscape the Galleria has today. The most recent change to the Galleria was in 2015 when a $42 million expansion was completed adding 32,000 square feet of restaurant space. Each renovation had a positive impact on the Galleria, adding options that guests continue to enjoy each visit. With every day, the Galleria at Sunset strives to be a place for visitors to not only shop but also to make memories for many years to come. 20

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. 2. Heat 3 inches of canola oil in a heavy pot to 375 degrees. Add half the chicken wings to the oil and fry them until they're golden brown and fully cooked for 5 to 7 min.

Remove and drain on paper towels. Repeat with the other half of the wings. 3. In a saucepan, heat the butter and cayenne sauce over medium-low heat. Add the hot sauce and Worcestershire. Let it bubble up, and then turn off the heat. 4. Place the wings in an ovenproof dish and pour the hot sauce over the top. Toss to coat, and then bake in the oven for 15 min. Serve with celery and blue cheese dip.
