LIFESTYLE LETTER
Greeley Has a Style All Its own! Dear readers, I hope this letter finds you inspired and ready to embrace the beauty of self-expression. Style is so much more than fashion—it’s the essence of how we live, create, and connect. It’s reflected in the way we design our spaces, the music we love, the stories we tell, and the kindness we extend to others. Style is, in many ways, the outward expression of our inner spirit. And if we’re talking about Greeley’s style, let me tell you—it’s giving. Anyone who knows this city knows that generosity is part of our cultural fabric. In this issue, you’ll meet entrepreneurs and creatives who bring their passions to life with flair, but also with heart. Their businesses thrive not just because of what they offer, but because of what they give back—to their customers, their neighbors, and the greater Greeley community. That’s style with substance. And it’s something worth celebrating. As you flip through these pages, I invite you to reflect on your own unique style. What lights you up? What sets you apart? And how can you use your gifts—your creativity, your presence, your influence—to give back? Because true style isn’t about trends. It’s about authenticity, generosity, and the courage to be exactly who you are. Here’s to embracing your individuality, sharing your light, and living life with unmistakable style. Warmly,

Change Lives. Enable Great Futures. Join the Blue Door Society Today. Too often, children in our community face closed doors and missed opportunities because of circumstances out of their control. For 60 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County has provided critical after-school and summer programming for young people in our community. We work every day to ensure that we open doors for all our members, equipping them with the tools they need to be productive, caring, and responsible citizens. While it costs about $7,000 annually to serve one Club member, $20 is all we charge a member for the entire school year. Yet, that can even be a hardship for some. A $20 monthly donation for a year—or foregoing a few stops for a coffee per month—helps cover membership fees for 12 members.

Three men. Three styles. One shared philosophy: the details matter. In Greeley, style isn’t about keeping up—it’s about staying grounded. It shows up in the quiet confidence of a well-worn belt, a thoughtfully chosen tee, or the weight of a timepiece that’s built to last. Whether it’s the signature watches from Weiss Jewelers or the everyday grit of Greeley Hat Works accessories, these pieces aren’t just about fashion—they’re about identity. At Weiss Jewelers, that identity is forged in time. Their signature line of men’s watches began in the 1950s at the request of local farmers who needed a rugged, dependable timepiece. Decades later, that purpose still shapes the design—only now, the line ranges from refined dress watches to sport models, all created with daily wear in mind. Crafted with Swiss movement, American-made cases, and protected by sapphire crystal, each watch is built to stand the test of time. And with custom dial personalization available, they’re made to mean something more. CONTINUED > Trent Johnson, Owner of Greeley Hat Works S EP TEMB ER 2 0 2 5 | C I TYL I FE STYL E . “We want a man to feel confident and connected to his style,” says Alex Rettmer, co-owner of Weiss Jewelers. “These watches are solid, reliable, and designed with care—they reflect something personal.” Just as a watch marks time, a belt or tee can tell a story. While Greeley Hat Works is known for its custom headwear, their curated accessories bring that same spirit to every piece on the shelf. Belts and wallets are sourced from craftsmen who share their high standards. But the tees and caps? That’s where the brand gets playful. With original designs and sayings like “HATitude” and “HATisfaction,” the shop offers more than apparel—it gives customers a way to wear their personality. “We started creating pieces our customers could connect with,” says owner Trent Johnson. “It’s more than just gear—it’s a way for people to feel like they’re part of something.”
Trent Johnson, Alex Rettmer, & Chad Sanger
“It’s more than just gear—it’s a way for people to feel like they’re part of something.” These aren’t just stylish men—they’re highly visible ones. Alex, Trent, and Chad Sanger, founder and owner of Turnkey Cattle Company and Turnkey Builders, are deeply involved in the Greeley community. Their names are known, their faces familiar, and their personal style reflects the same authenticity they bring to their work. That sense of connection is reflected in the style of each. Alex keeps it clean: black tee, jeans, boots, and always a watch. Trent leads with feel, choosing what makes sense for the day ahead and letting comfort guide the rest. For Chad, style is steady. The same boots carry him from one job to the next, whether he’s on a site, at home, or helping a friend. His wardrobe doesn’t shift—because it doesn’t have to.

“A watch should do more than tell time— it should tell people who you are without saying a word.” – Alex Rettmer, co-owner of Weiss Jewelers Alex Rettmer, Co-Owner of Weiss Jewelers
Each man brings a different tone to the table, but together they reflect a kind of Greeley style that’s consistent, intentional, and unmistakably personal. It’s not about polished looks or trends— it’s about wearing pieces that work as hard as they do. Pieces that belong, because they’ve been earned. In the end, style isn’t loud. It doesn’t have to announce itself. It just has to fit—your day, your rhythm, your life.

THE AESTHETIC OF CLASSIC CARS PHOTOGRAPHY BY KRISTY LOURANCE PHOTOGRAPHY
26
AU TO C LU B | AUTO + MARIN E
The scent hits first—gasoline, leather, and a hint of dust that’s settled into the seams of time. The floor is smooth concrete, cool underfoot, and scattered with tire marks that haven’t been scrubbed away. Light filters through tall windows and lands on curves sculpted from steel, not plastic. No music. No sales pitch. Just a hush, thick with the weight of design and memory. You don’t have to be a car guy to feel it. The room speaks in stillness. Every machine here—low-slung, upright, wide-bodied, or squared off—sits with intention. Some gleam. Others wear time like texture. Paint isn’t flashy; it’s deep. Chrome doesn’t scream— it reflects with purpose. Even in stillness, they hold their shape like they know how to be looked at. This isn’t a showroom. It’s a style guide. One car sits mid-restoration, raw and stripped back, its frame exposed, bolts loose at its feet. And somehow, it’s still the bestdressed thing in the room. Not because it’s finished, but because the shape, the presence—it’s already there. Style doesn’t require perfection. It requires intention. What you see isn’t dressed up—it’s built. These machines weren’t engineered to impress; they were crafted to last. Every detail serves a purpose, from the clean sweep of a dashboard to the curve of a door that feels deliberate, not decorative. The restraint is the style. It’s the absence of clutter that makes the finish matter: a matte wheel well, a hand-painted pinstripe, a fender that knows exactly where it begins and ends. Good design isn’t loud. It doesn’t compete. It makes you pause—not because it’s performing, but because it doesn’t need to. And that’s what classic cars offer: a complete aesthetic without a single wasted line. They age without apology, gaining character with each mile, each sun-faded panel, or softened seat. The
lines stay sharp, even as the leather creases. Like the best style, it doesn’t chase anything—it just holds its ground. Conquest Classic Cars is where all of this comes together—quietly, precisely. Tucked into a clean and minimal space in Greeley, their focus isn’t on flash or volume. They work with what matters: steel, shape, and stories worth preserving. Their lineup includes a mix of restored showpieces, original survivors, and works in progress. Some are ready to drive. Others are waiting on the right hands to bring them back to form—but never to erase their past. This is not nostalgia. This is curation. Restoration at Conquest isn’t about making something look new again. It’s about knowing what to change—and what to leave untouched. They might refinish the engine but leave the worn leather intact. They’ll clean a dash but keep the scuff marks that tell you this car was used, not just saved. The skill isn’t just in the rebuild. It’s in the restraint. There’s a kind of style in that philosophy: not trying to be something else, not overpolished, not mass-produced, just wellmade, carefully kept, and meant to be lived with. That’s why Conquest Cars doesn’t just feel like a garage. It feels like a tailor’s studio. A gallery. A place where every line has been considered and every surface chosen on purpose. And when a machine like that rolls past you on the street, you notice it—not CONTINUED > because it’s loud, but because it’s sure of itself. S EP TEMB ER 2 0 2 5 | C I TYL I FE STYL E . Mountain Shadow Storage Brings Communit y First to the West Side PHOTOGRAPHY BY ADDIE KNOTT PHOTOGRAPHY

M ON E Y M AT T E R S | HO ME SE RVICE S
In the heart of west Greeley, Mountain Shadow Storage stands as more than a practical solution—it’s a locally owned investment in the city’s future. Behind the modern facility are four men who have long shaped the Greeley landscape through their leadership, business insight, and deep community ties:
Owners Dale Boehner, Nick Francis, Terry Wiedeman & Rob Stanley
“We built this business not just to meet demand, but to pour back into Greeley.” – Nick Francis Terry Wiedeman, Rob Stanley, Dale Boehner, and Nick Francis. Together, they recognized a growing need on the city’s west side. As Greeley expanded, so did the demand for quality storage—especially for climate-controlled units, RV parking, and secure outdoor options. For Terry Wiedeman, whose hands-on background includes years in construction, the project required more than vision—it required presence. “Being involved from start to finish shaped my leadership style,” he shared. “We didn’t want to just build a storage site. We wanted to build something Greeley could be proud of.” From the layout to the clean, modern aesthetic, every detail reflects that intention. That same sense of foresight sparked Rob Stanley’s interest. Known for his entrepreneurial mindset and long-standing local ties, Rob had spent years researching recurring-income models before turning
to self-storage. “I’m a plan B kind of guy,” he said with a smile. “The more I learned, the more I saw potential here. And when I happened to sit next to Nick at a Christmas dinner, the idea finally had legs.” What began as a conversation quickly grew into a partnership built on mutual respect, shared goals, and friendship. “We looked forward to going to work, meeting people, solving problems. It never felt like a job; it felt like the right fit.” Dale Boehner brings a neighborly approach to the business—one grounded in years of local relationships and the belief that people return to where they feel valued. “Customer service is the lynchpin,” he said. “People want to be remembered.” For Dale, it’s not just about good service—it’s about building trust that lasts beyond a single transaction. That trust, built over decades in the Greeley business community, continues to draw in customers who want to rent from people they know. CONTINUED > S EP TEMB ER 2 0 2 5 | C I TYL I FE STYL E . C O M / G R E E L E Y
33
“We’ve seen folks choose us because of past experiences. They know we’ll treat them right,” he shared. In his eyes, keeping business local keeps dollars in motion here at home, benefiting families, schools, and neighbors alike. And for Nick Francis, community impact was always the end goal. A well-known figure in Greeley’s civic and business arenas, Nick views Mountain Shadow Storage as a vehicle for reinvestment. “We support local schools, provide jobs, and keep business with local vendors,” he said. “It’s not just about storage. It’s about strengthening the economy we all live and work in.” His approach to leadership centers around building strong teams and empowering people, ensuring that the business remains as rooted in its values as it is in its location. Each of these men brings something different to the table—construction experience, entrepreneurial vision, customer-first values, and a commitment to reinvesting locally. But it’s their shared belief in Greeley that ties it all together. From concept to completion, they’ve built more than a business. They’ve built trust. As Greeley continues to grow, Mountain Shadow Storage is positioned to serve the needs of a changing city while staying deeply rooted in what matters most: people. And that’s something no big-box operation can replicate.

Walk through the doors of Greeley Climbing Collective, and the details immediately strike you—sunlight catching chalk in the air, bold geometric walls rising like sculptures, and a quiet current of motion as climbers navigate their routes with intention. This isn’t a warehouse of workout machines. This is a place where style moves vertically. Here, every detail reflects a belief: that how we move through a space—and up a wall—says something about who we are. WHO BUILT THIS: THREE LOCAL FAMILIES, ONE VISION Greeley Climbing Collective isn’t just a gym—it’s a curated experience shaped by three Colorado families who share a belief that climbing should be expressive, inclusive, and deeply rooted in community. Bryan Hylenski, a lifelong climber and entrepreneur, brings decades of hands-on expertise. With multiple first ascents across the globe and a résumé that includes founding climbing gyms throughout Colorado, Bryan helps steer the Collective with a focus on authenticity and longevity. Shauna Hylenski draws from a background in healing arts, yoga, and education, infusing the gym with a deep sense of balance and sustainability. Her work with both youth and adult programs ensures the Collective fosters inner strength as much as physical ability, blending mindful movement with the challenge of the wall. Mack Maier, an experienced climber and creative voice within the Collective, plays a key role in shaping the atmosphere and experience of the gym. While a talented climber himself, he credits their team of local route-setters for turning the walls into art installations—routes that invite expression and test problem-solving in every form. Aaron Tellier, a seasoned marketer with 30 years of experience, uses his entrepreneurial mindset and operational insight to help power the gym’s growth from the inside out. Heather Tellier helped bring the concept to life with a vision rooted in connection. The Collective is a family endeavor and a labor of love that allows her to work alongside her sister, Shauna, creating a space where friendships and community ties naturally form. Heeran Joe, co-owner and bookkeeper, keeps the business running smoothly behind the scenes. Passionate about fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, she brings hands-on leadership and meticulous care to supporting the Collective’s growth and sustainability. Together, these three families have built more than a climbing gym. They’ve created a space where movement has meaning, style is celebrated, and community sits at the core. COMMUNITY AS CULTURE, NOT A BUZZWORD Connection is the first thing you feel here. No one’s isolated behind earbuds. Climbers cheer for one another, swap advice, and laugh off tough moves together. This spirit is clearest in the youth programs. Kids often start out hesitant, unsure of their strength. A few weeks in, they’re racing up walls, solving problems out loud with friends, and dropping down grinning whether they topped out or not. “Climbing gives them a chance to fail safely, try again, and grow from it,” Shauna says. “That’s something they take with them off the wall.” Inclusivity isn’t just a value statement—it’s in action. Heather points to a work-study program designed to welcome individuals with special needs, offering meaningful opportunities while adding to the gym’s culture of support and kindness. “We wanted it to feel clean and functional, but also warm,” Heather says. “This is a space where our friends meet up after work—it’s personal. Everyone should feel like they belong here.” Community here feels effortless because it’s built into the experience, not layered on top of it. Climbers show up for a workout and leave having connected with someone new. THE STYLE OF MOVEMENT Climbing at Greeley Climbing Collective is more than a race to the top—it’s a conversation between climber and wall. Each route is a problem to solve but also a chance to express individuality. “Some climbers move like dancers. Some launch like gymnasts. Others pause and plan each detail like a chess match,” Mack explains. Their route-setting team, a group of talented local climbers, intentionally crafts paths for every type of mover. Graceful, dynamic, meticulous—each style has a home here. Shauna ties it back to mindfulness. “A welltimed breath, an engaged core, a softened landing—those details matter,” she says. “That’s where strength and focus meet.”

“Climbing becomes much more than a sport—it’s a truly personal and creative act.” — Mack Maier, Co-Owner
Gear, too, tells a story. Neon chalk bags, bold-patterned harnesses, or well-worn shoes all hint at who a climber is and where they’ve been. It’s a reminder that style isn’t just what you see—it’s what you feel in motion. DESIGNED TO REFLECT, NOT IMPRESS Much of the bouldering wall was repurposed from their Longmont location, carrying history into this new home. But the Greeley gym has its own personality. In the retail area, black-and-white cowboy portraits quietly nod to local heritage. Upstairs, a first-of-its-kind outdoor mezzanine overlooks 8th Avenue, perfect for evening hangs or small events. Even the color palette—clean but not cold—was chosen to invite people in, not overwhelm them. “We wanted it to be functional and high quality,” Heather says, “but still feel like a place you’d want to spend hours in.” Every corner of the space tells you this wasn’t built to impress outsiders—it was built to belong to Greeley. CLIMB BOLDLY. CLIMB DIFFERENTLY. Greeley Climbing Collective isn’t just a gym. It’s a place to move, connect, and carve out your own style on the wall. Whether you’re here for a first climb, a new challenge, or simply to find your people, this is a space that celebrates who you are—on and off the wall. Located at 1516 8th Avenue, the Collective offers easy parking just south of the building and a variety of flexible entry options, including single-day passes, 5-punch passes, and 10-punch passes. Memberships are available for adults, students, youth, partners, and families, with full access to all climbing, fitness, and yoga amenities. Weekly classes, gear discounts, and exclusive savings on climbing courses and workshops are included with every membership or pass, making it simple to experience everything the Collective has to offer. clothing selection blends texture, comfort, and color in a way that feels both timeless and expressive. From easy layering pieces to standout accessories, each item is chosen with real-life wearability in mind—and with an understanding of what her customers love most. Whether it’s a cozy cardigan, an everyday essential, or a seasonal statement piece, the style here feels curated, not crowded. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by more than just charming displays. There’s a rhythm to the shop: the scent of something sweet or seasonal, the sparkle of a handpicked necklace, the crackle of tissue paper, and the quiet joy of finding something you didn’t know you needed. Every corner invites a moment of pause, a smile, and a memory in the making. After three decades of creativity and community, Suzanne still describes the shop in four simple words: quality, unusual, practical, excellent. And somehow, it’s exactly that—plus a little magic.

What began as a humble card table at a craft fair—with homemade food mixes and a baby in tow—has grown into one of Greeley’s most beloved destinations for gifts, fashion, and feel-good finds. Suzanne Sereff, owner of Warm Hugs Mixes & Gifts, never imagined her handmade mixes would one day anchor a full-fledged boutique offering everything from garden treasures to cozy sweaters, gourmet treats, accessories, and more. Warm Hugs isn’t your typical gift shop. Tucked inside its welcoming walls are carefully curated racks of clothing, shelves of thoughtfully selected goods, and displays of meaningful, practical, and unexpected pieces that make gifting (and self-gifting) a delight. “We’re always on the lookout for excellent quality and added interest,” Suzanne says, “something you won’t find in a big box store.” That fashion-forward approach is just one of the ways Suzanne keeps the boutique feeling fresh and personal. Finances might not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about style. But First FarmBank is rewriting that story. With multiple Greeley locations that blend sleek, welcoming environments and a team that marries professionalism with a genuine personal touch, this community bank proves that smart money management and style can be inseparable. From thoughtfully designed spaces to tailored banking experiences, First FarmBank demonstrates that financial confidence is always in fashion. What sets First FarmBank apart is more than the polished aesthetics or convenient technology. It’s their roots—and the way those roots shape everything they do. Founded to serve agricultural communities and small business owners, the bank has grown steadily into a full-service community bank that serves individuals, families, and businesses across Northern Colorado. Relationships still come first, and progress is measured in trust just as much as in numbers. This deep connection to the community shows through in every interaction. Walk into any of its Greeley branches, and the atmosphere is immediately different. Warm lighting and comfortable spaces create an inviting environment, but it’s the people who truly define the experience. Staff greet clients by name, remember details about their families and businesses, and approach each conversation with care— not just to close a deal, but to help shape a future. That kind of relationship-driven banking stands out in a world dominated by automation and digital-first services. While First FarmBank embraces modern technology—offering seamless mobile banking and tailored lending solutions—they never compromise the human element. Behind every app and online portal is a team ready to listen, advise, and adapt to the unique needs of each client. The team itself is a big part of what gives First FarmBank its distinctive style. While the bank was founded in 2007, many employees have built long-term
careers here, creating continuity that builds trust. These aren’t just bankers—they’re neighbors, friends, and partners who actively participate in the community beyond their roles. From supporting local nonprofits to sponsoring events and volunteering, their commitment to Greeley goes far beyond transactions. This genuine connection also informs how First FarmBank approaches financial guidance. Conversations here are refreshingly straightforward and tailored, stripped of jargon and sales pitches. Whether helping someone open their first account or guiding a business through expansion, the bank offers clarity with confidence, making even complex financial decisions feel manageable. Striking the right balance between tradition and innovation, First FarmBank refuses to compromise personal service for scale. Their size allows flexibility and responsiveness often missing from larger institutions. Decisions are made locally, services are customized, and every client feels like more than just a number. It’s this blend of professional expertise and hometown heart that elevates the banking experience from routine to remarkable—giving the bank its own unmistakable style. In an industry often perceived as distant or transactional, First FarmBank’s approach stands as a model of style in action: confident without arrogance, modern without losing authenticity. Their carefully crafted spaces and polished service reflect an understanding that how people bank influences how they feel about their financial future. Feeling seen, heard, and understood is part of the style they embody. More than just a bank, First FarmBank is a partner in growth—financially, professionally, and personally. They’ve cultivated loyalty not through flashy marketing, but through consistent service, genuine care, and a deeply held belief that strong relationships—like successful harvests—are built over time with patience and trust.

In communities like Greeley, thrift stores are more than just places to shop— they are anchors of generosity, creativity, and purpose. Two local standouts, arc Thrift Stores and The Bargain Box, exemplify how donated goods can become vehicles for lasting community impact. While their operations are different, both organizations are powered by a shared mission: turning secondhand items into first-rate support for Weld County residents.

A SHARED PURPOSE, TWO UNIQUE PATHS Though similar in spirit, arc Thrift Stores and The Bargain Box operate with distinct structures. Arc Thrift Stores is a nonprofit retail operation with 37 locations across Colorado. Though closely connected in name and mission, arc Thrift Stores and The Arc are separate entities—arc Thrift focuses on operating retail stores, while The Arc chapters provide advocacy and direct support services. The proceeds from its stores fund 15 independent chapters of The Arc, which advocate for and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. “The work they do is diverse and community-specific. The thrift stores’ success allows those programs to thrive.” explains Maggie Scivicque, vice president of marketing and social corporate responsibility. The Bargain Box operates entirely through Volunteers Enriching Weld (VEW), a nonprofit powered by a dedicated volunteer team. The organization operates solely within Weld County, with every aspect—from staffing to fundraising—deeply rooted in local service. The store is a Gold Level nonprofit known for its transparency and community accountability. “At Volunteers Enriching Weld and The Bargain Box, we operate entirely with the support of volunteers,” the organization shares. “Every dollar we raise goes directly to benefit children and adults within the Greeley and Weld County community.” BEYOND FASHION: DONATIONS THAT MATTER Unlike many thrift-focused stories that center around clothing, both The Bargain Box and arc Thrift Stores emphasize that their missions go well beyond fashion. The Bargain Box sells housewares, small appliances, books, games, home décor, seasonal items, toys, jewelry, and more—including craft supplies and fabric. While clothing remains a major component of their inventory, donations of all kinds are sorted, reused, and, in many cases, repurposed if not sold. Arc Thrift Stores offers a wide-ranging inventory as well, from furniture and home goods to vintage finds and gently used essentials. One of those chapters, The Arc of Northeast Colorado, uses the funding to run advocacy programs throughout the region, including IEP support in schools, social inclusion events, and sports programming like the No Limits Football Camp and Unified Basketball League. All services are provided at no cost to families. Every purchase at The Bargain Box directly supports VEW’s philanthropic programs, including: • Clothing Children of Weld, which provides school uniforms for students in Title I schools within District 6. • Color Me Weld, which offers creative materials to children in hospital waiting rooms as a calming, hands-on distraction. • Additional funds and support go to senior initiatives, assault survivor kits, and more, based on community needs.
A CULTURE OF CONNECTION Both organizations are also known for the relationships they build. The Bargain Box notes that many of their customers are “regulars” known by name, with some even traveling in from out of town because of the shop’s unique charm and consistent quality. At arc Thrift, collaborations with community influencers and disability advocates help amplify their mission and reach new audiences in meaningful ways. As VEW shared, they are always looking for more volunteers and are proud of how much money they’re able to reinvest locally. MORE THAN A STORE Whether browsing for books or donating gently used cookware, shoppers at arc Thrift Stores and The Bargain Box are participating in something far greater than a transaction. For those looking to clean out closets or shop with purpose, both organizations offer opportunities to give back through every purchase, every donation, and every shared story.
