GOD'S BEAUTIFUL DESIGN IN CREATION IS WHAT MOTIVATES ME IN LIFE AND IN CREATING.

Pauline Heft, owner and designer of The Posy Pantry, believes in the slow-growing power of flowers, art and craftsmanship in everyday life. Her “whimsical with a vintage flair” style shines through her intentional business. From floral arrangements to curated collections of antiques and custom artwork, Heft lives out her mission to gather and design the natural beauties of the earth for all to enjoy in their homes, workplaces or special occasions. The Posy Pantry was founded in 2020 after a friend told Heft the story of starting her sewing business from her kitchen table. It was the encouragement Heft needed to start where she was. During the COVID19 pandemic, she began delivering bouquets to people working from home to offer joy and light in a time of isolation. Heft says, “Few things in life provide the pure, innocent joy that can be experienced through a bunch of flowers that grew up from the smallest seed, braved storms and pestering bugs, yet still stand beautiful. Heft’s love of artistry was apparent long before the founding of The Posy Pantry in 2020. Formative experiences have clarified her sense of style over time. “I always felt very scattered in my creative aspirations until I became a mother. It grounded me in a way that showed me what I truly loved doing and gave me the confidence to run with what I love making and not caring whether it was trending or mainstream. From youth, I have loved flowers and creating hand-drawn art pieces. In college, I worked at an antique mall, which fostered my love for old pieces of quality and charm. When I married my beloved husband, he showed me a love and comfort unmatched, and that loving environment truly nurtured the creative side in me to bloom to its fullest.” In 2021, Heft moved to a 150-year-old farmhouse nestled on 8.5 acres in Bethpage, Tennessee. That is when The Posy Pantry evolved into what it is today. At its core, The Posy Pantry is a testament to Heft’s faith. She says, “God’s beautiful design in creation is what motivates me in life and in creating. He is the ultimate artist who found

purpose in all things that start small, grow up into lovely works of art and then eventually fade away. The purpose and beauty I find in the cycle in a flower’s life is very encouraging in my own, knowing that who I am and what I make matter in the eyes of my Creator.” That is why Heft attests to the importance of incorporating intentional art into homes or events. It reminds people of the most important lessons — that good things often start small and form slowly. She says, “In an age of AI, it is my heart’s desire to create all things handmade to be cherished by individuals in their special corner of the world.” The Posy Pantry provides flower bars for events and smallgroup workshops. She creates custom artwork available for local pickup or shipping, and starting in 2027, Heft will only participate in two markets per year. You and your husband, Brad, founded TN Medicare Concierge. What inspired you to launch the one-stop shop for the local 65+ community? Brad and I have spent our entire lives in Gallatin, and serving this community has always been more than a career — it’s personal. After years of helping families protect what matters most through home, auto, life and business insurance, we realized there was a huge need for trusted, local guidance when people became eligible for Medicare. That’s why we founded TN Medicare Concierge. We wanted to offer a true concierge experience — one where education comes first, every recommendation is personalized and our clients know they’ll always have a local team to call long after enrollment is complete. Navigating Medicare can be overwhelming. How does your agency guide local seniors through it with personalized care? Our first conversation isn’t about selling a plan — it’s about getting to know the person sitting across from us. We learn about their doctors, prescriptions, travel habits, budget, health concerns and future goals before discussing any options. From there, we compare plans from multiple carriers and explain everything in plain language. We encourage questions and take as much time as needed because we believe understanding your coverage is just as important as choosing it. For someone completely new to this transition, what is a common misconception people have about “Original Medicare?” One of the biggest misconceptions is that Medicare covers everything once you turn 65. In reality, Original Medicare covers many important medical services, but it doesn’t cover everything. Many people are surprised

to learn that routine dental care, vision exams, hearing aids and many prescription drug costs are not automatically included. Others don’t realize there are deductibles, coinsurance and out-of-pocket expenses that can add up quickly without additional coverage. Our job is to educate — not scare people. Once someone understands where those gaps exist, we can help them find a plan that protects both their health and their retirement budget. With constant shifts in healthcare policies and drug coverage, how does TN Medicare Concierge serve as a long-term liaison for clients, ensuring their plans continue to serve them well? Every year during Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period, we proactively review our clients’ coverage to make sure it still fits their needs. Annie Moss did not start out trying to create a business. She began making jewelry with Scripture and encouraging messages at her kitchen table in 2014 to raise money for a missions trip. When women in the community continued asking Moss where they could find her jewelry, she recognized the desire for products that were meaningful, encouraging and offered hope. The idea grew to meet the needs of those around her, eventually becoming The Vintage Sparrow. From a kitchen table to becoming a nationally recognized brand featured on QVC, Annie Moss retains the same heart for her customers. Moss says, “While the reach has grown, the mission has never changed — to encourage women and point them toward the hope found in Christ.” To Moss, wearing pieces of encouragement can center anyone during moments they need those reminders most. She says, “There’s something powerful about wearing a reminder of Scripture or an encouraging word throughout the day. Whether someone glances down at a bracelet during a difficult meeting or puts on a t-shirt before heading out the door, those small reminders can quietly point their hearts back to God’s promises. As the season transitions into fall, it still features the warm, sunny days of summer but nights start to drop into the crisp temperatures. That leaves us in the limbo of wanting cool, refreshing drinks part of the time but also craving the deeper, spice-infused flavors of autumn. This recipe for apple cider sangria is the perfect blending of the seasons, leaving you feeling both refreshed and warmed through the deep flavors and interesting hints of spice. It’s a great drink to add to any dinner party, cocktail gathering, back deck after-hours get-together, or birthday bash. Here’s what you need to make the perfect mid-season cocktail to enhance whatever event you have planned.

INGREDIENTS: • • • • • •

1 bottle, standard size, of pinot grigio 2 1/2 cups fresh apple cider 1 cup club soda 1/2 cup ginger brandy 3 Honeycrisp apples, chopped 3 pears, chopped

DIRECTIONS: Combine all ingredients together and stir. Refrigerate for an hour or so (or longer) before serving. The drink can be enjoyed immediately, if desired, but the longer you let the ingredients sit and mix, the deeper the flavors will be. Giving it time to develop will make the drink more captivating and interesting.

NOTE: Regular brandy can be used, but ginger brandy gives it an extra kick of flavor.
