Today, we want to celebrate and explore the fascinating world of style. Style is not limited to the clothes we wear or the way we adorn ourselves; it encompasses every aspect of our lives. From the way we decorate our homes to the music we listen to, from the books we read to the way we carry ourselves in conversations, style permeates every facet of our existence. It's the thread that weaves together the tapestry of our lives.

Style is deeply personal. And it evolves as we celebrate our quirks, passions and desires. Style is a form of self-expression that communicates who we are, how we perceive the world and what we value. In this way, style becomes a powerful tool for connection, as it enables us to find common ground with others who share our aesthetic sensibilities.
As individuals, we have the freedom to embrace established styles, blend them together, or forge entirely new paths, becoming trendsetters ourselves. We hope this edition inspires you to forge new paths or perhaps explore familiar ones. There is so much here locally to uplift our spirits, boost our productivity and ignite our creativity.
The best style is an authentic expression of who you really are. And that’s something no one on earth can duplicate.
Here’s to being uniquely you!

Our attorneys create customized estate plans based on your family structure, life plans, goals, values, principles, and vision. There is no such thing as one-size-fits-all estate planning.
The probate process helps to ensure that your deceased loved one’s estate is distributed according to their wishes. Mourning the loss of a loved one is difficult, and the thought of dealing with legal issues and piles of paperwork can make you feel overwhelmed.
Appointing a guardian is necessary when a person can no longer make or communicate safe or sound decisions about his/her person and/or property or has become susceptible to fraud or undue influence. A special needs trust allows a person with a disability to have money put aside for their care.
Trust administration includes settling any debts, paying taxes, transferring property titles and other administrative tasks that must be handled to close out or settle the estate of the decedent.
Asset protection planning involves making prudent decisions today to protect yourself, your business, and your hard-earned assets from loss due to lawsuits, creditors or bankruptcies.
An effective business plan is not only a roadmap that outlines your goals, strategies, and potential hurdles, but also helps protect your business from death, divorce, or disability by preparing in advance.

As fall nears, many homebuyers are excited to find their ideal residences in the bustling real estate market. Tonya Dangerfield, MBA, broker associate at The Tonya Dangerfield Home Team, shares valuable insights with City Lifestyle readers into the latest styles and trends captivating buyers during this season.
“Buyers are increasingly drawn to modern, sleek homes,” says Tonya. “Open floor plans and expansive windows that flood the space with natural light are top priorities.” The appeal of such designs lies in their ability to create a bright, airy atmosphere, making even the smallest spaces feel larger and more inviting.
In today’s work-from-home era, home offices have become indispensable. “A dedicated workspace is a must-have for many buyers,” Tonya notes. Additionally, media rooms and backyard living areas with outdoor kitchens are gaining popularity, offering versatile spaces for entertainment and relaxation.
When it comes to choosing an architectural style, Tonya emphasizes the importance of alignment with neighborhood characteristics. “It’s crucial for a home to fit seamlessly into its surroundings,” she advises. A home that stands out too much might face challenges in the resale market. Therefore, while personal aesthetic preferences are important, considering future market demand is equally essential.
For home sellers aiming to attract style-conscious buyers, Tonya recommends focusing on a few key interior design trends:
1. Neutral Colors: These appeal to a broad range of buyers, helping them visualize their own style within the space.
2. Natural Materials: Incorporating wood, stone, and natural fibers adds warmth and texture, creating a timeless and inviting atmosphere.
3. Technology Enhancements: Smart thermostats, lighting systems, security cameras, and home assistants are becoming increasingly desirable.
4. Luxury Bathrooms: Features such as freestanding tubs, large tiled showers and separate vanity areas contribute to a spa-like experience.
Identifying the right style of a home involves balancing personal tastes with practical considerations. “Lifestyle needs should drive your decision,” says Tonya. For instance, those working from home might prioritize a home office, while families might look for multipurpose rooms. In Texas, where summers can be scorching, backyard spaces with patio covers are essential for enjoying outdoor areas.
First impressions are lasting, so maintaining a wellkept exterior is vital. “Curb appeal is all about initial attraction and emotional appeal,” Tonya explains. This includes power washing driveways, repairing broken bricks, and trimming trees and shrubs. A fresh or newly replaced front door can significantly enhance a home’s overall attractiveness.
A home with a cohesive style both inside and out is more likely to attract buyers. “Cohesiveness creates a natural flow and harmony,” says Tonya. Consistent design elements suggest a well-maintained property, often translating to higher resale values. Homes that seamlessly blend exterior and interior styles are perceived as more valuable and desirable.
Tonya states this season, Collin County buyers are particularly discerning. Updated kitchens with stainless steel, energy-efficient appliances, quality countertops and well-designed cabinets are highly sought. Walk-in pantries and luxurious bathrooms with spa-like features constructed from high-quality materials also are in demand.
This fall, the emphasis on modern, functional and stylish homes continues to shape the real estate market in Collin County. “Our team is composed of professionals with decades of experience in real estate, finance, negotiation and project management,” shares Tonya. “Our diverse skills and commitment to offering a truly concierge experience allow our clients to relax and feel confident in their real estate journey.” 214.641.4491

SIGNATURE OUTDOOR PUBLIC ART
INSTALLATION AMONG LARGEST IN TEXAS

“Janet’s ability to interpret the natural world in such a beautiful way makes her an ideal partner for Kaleidoscope Park,” says Shawn Jackson, executive director, Kaleidoscope Park Foundation.
Kaleidoscope Park is a place where nature meets culture and art abounds. Located adjacent to Hall Park’s Texas Sculpture Garden, Kaleidoscope Park’s centerpiece is the new, captivating work 'Butterfly Rest Stop.'
Created by world-renowned sculpture and fabric artist Janet Echelman, the magnificent art hangs overhead in the Park’s Arts Plaza. The butterfly theme highlights the area as an important corridor for the monarch butterfly’s migration.
The piece was installed across several days, tensioned atop its massive pylons , representing one of the largest outdoor public art installations in Texas.
'Butterfly Rest Stop' explores the interconnectedness of humans and nature in the public sphere. Butterflies and other pollinators play an important role in Earth's ecosystem, but monarch numbers have declined in recent years due to the loss of milkweed along their migratory routes that pass through Frisco each year.
The design of 'Butterfly Rest Stop' echoes the forms, patterns and colors of milkweed flowers. Made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers like those used by NASA to tether the Mars Rover, the sculpture is comprised of two
five-petaled forms that float gently in the air. The intricately designed work uses nearly 90 miles of fiber to create the 165-foot-long span.
To further the pollinator message, native milkweed has been added to the Park’s Arts Plaza to welcome monarch butterflies to the Park.
“Great art enhances our lives and causes us to step back and think about the world we live in,” says Craig Hall, founder and chairman of Hall Group. “Janet Echelman’s unique works have inspired millions around the world, and we're thrilled to bring her newest creation to Frisco.”
Janet's known for creating large-scale artworks that transform with wind and light, changing shape and color in response to the forces of nature. Her works have been displayed in Singapore, Sydney, Shanghai, Santiago, Beijing, Boston, New York and London.
“When I learned the monarch butterflies migrate through the area each October, I wanted to plant milkweed underneath to help create a sustaining pollinator corridor, and to suspend my first flower-inspired sculpture in the sky to remind of our interconnected destinies,” Janet says.

The design of 'Butterfly Rest Stop' echoes the forms, patterns and colors of milkweed flowers.

Part a mohawk section of hair down the center of the head. Create a French braid down the middle. For a thicker-looking braid, gently pull on the strands working your way up and down the braid. Pull it back into a ponytail for a simple and trendy look.

Autumn is a lovely season to have friends and family over for dinner. Why not host an elegant but casual gathering before the holiday craziness begins? A table setting of white dishes, woven placemats, copper utensils, and linen napkins decorated with succulent or herb clippings creates a stylish atmosphere conducive to conversation and enjoyment. This simple menu will allow you to host a stress-free evening.

While your guests enjoy a pre-dinner glass of wine or cocktail, set out a cheese board for them to nibble on. It is much simpler to assemble than a full-on charcuterie board. The basic rule is to offer three types of cheese—one blue (stilton, Roquefort, gorgonzola), one hard (cheddar, gruyere, manchego), and one soft (brie, camembert, Port Salut). Feel free to add olives, nuts, and grapes to the board, or just keep it simple like this one pictured with slices of artisan bread, crackers, and breadsticks.
Recipe by Linda Ditch

• 6 medium beets
• Olive oil, for drizzling
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1 bag of salad greens
• 1/4 cup toasted pecans, coarsely chopped
• 2 ounces of goat or feta cheese
• 1/4 cup chopped dried apricots
• Favorite vinaigrette dressing
Coat the beets with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place on a baking sheet. Roast in a 400-degree oven for 45 minutes until fork tender. Cool for 10 minutes, and then rub with paper towels to peel. (Beet juice stains, so be careful.) Cut the beets and toss with the remaining ingredients.

The dinner’s main event is a lovely piece of beef seasoned with a this spice rub. Use a steak of your choice grilled or seared in a cast iron skillet.
• 3 parts brown sugar
• 3 parts smoked sea salt
• 1 part smoked paprika
• ½ part coriander
• ½ part chili powder
• ¼ part cayenne pepper
• ¼ part dried thyme
• ¼ part cracked pepper
Mix all spices and apply liberally to the beef. Place the seasoned meat in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Allow it to come to room temperature before grilling or searing.
