t is with great pride and excitement that we bring to you the 2017 Best of Franklin edition. We celebrate successes throughout the year but this is the one occasion where we honor everyone at once. Success in business cannot be taken lightly. You can be the smartest, work the hardest, have the most talented staff, sweat the details, make substantial investments and STILL fall short of your goals. Many of the most successful business people can identify with that fact. In my business, I spend the most time thinking about the customer experience. Business owners who cultivate customers who become true advocates of their brand have little to worry about. If you run your own business, you understand the value of enthusiastic customers. I can tell you that the one common thread among the 2017 winners is that they all have genuinely enthusiastic followings. The following pages will reveal the top businesses in 50 different categories as selected by you, the readers of Franklin Lifestyle. From restaurants and salons, to health care and home services, the balloting revealed the strong sentiments that Franklin has for a diverse group of prominent and viable entities. As was the case a year ago, the balloting was competitive. Consider some of these notes and statistics: • While there were 35 repeat winners, only six winners garnered more than 50 percent of the votes in their category. • 24 of the contests were settled by fewer than 10 percentage points. • On average, the 50 winners collected 34.9 percent of the votes in their category. • In all, 54,453 votes were cast for 278 nominees.
