LIFESTYLE LETTER
In Style Style is more than a look — it’s a way of moving through the world. It’s found in the details we choose, the stories we tell, and the generosity we extend to others. This season, we celebrate the harmony of beauty and purpose — living well while giving back. And now, as we head into fall — the most captivating season of all — the air turns crisp, colors deepen, and everything feels just a little more beautiful. It’s a time to savor, to reflect, and to embrace the richness in both style and spirit. From the elegance of a well-set table to the quiet luxury of meaningful moments, true style transcends trends. It’s about cultivating a life that reflects not only who we are, but also the impact we hope to make. Here’s to living with intention, dressing life in beauty, and never forgetting the power of giving. JAHNA EICHEL, PUBLISHER @FORTCOLLINSCITYLIFESTYLE

this unexpected love affair, fashion and interiors are more than just a simple pairing—they are rooted in culture, creativity, and the human desire for self-expression. As conscious consumers of the 21st century, participating in a retail landscape that is oversaturated and struggling to adapt to the ever-changing demands of the modern customer, our purchasing power should not only respond to a feeling of want but also prioritize items that reflect who we are and who we aspire to be. This is clearly visible through the representation of fashion and interiors. Although we tend to consider cost-per-wear primarily when it comes to clothing, this same
principle applies to furniture and the function it brings to the home. Aesthetics and functionality both play a role in this pairing, painting a picture for the rest of the world of who the wearer is and how they live in their space. The woman who wears a blazer with sharp shoulders that makes her feel powerful in her everyday life—or the black dress that gives her a necessary boost of confidence—may naturally gravitate toward sleek, modern furniture that feels equally strong and elevates the space where the modern woman thrives. In the same way, someone who prefers an effortless ensemble—like their favorite white T-shirt and comfortable denim CONTINUED >

jeans—may also look for home pieces that are functional and make their guests feel at ease. Even a handmade rug, one that sparks conversation about where it was found and adds a focal point to a room, mirrors how we search our closets for a sweater tied to a cherished memory. Just as we carefully choose outfits to express ourselves, it’s equally important to ensure that our living spaces are designed with the same intention. More than ever, modern buyers are making purchasing decisions based on personal morals and values, forming a new wave of consumers who seek products that are both high-quality and environmentally or socially conscious, whether for themselves or their homes. The following imagery affirms that living a timeless lifestyle across all aspects of life is possible through the thoughtful styling of sustainable clothing and vintage furniture. As the modern retail landscape continues to evolve, it’s become increasingly vital to make conscious consumer choices—ones that allow us to express our truest selves through both our wardrobes and the places we call home.

gourmet treats crafted by the chef, bowls, a collar tag, and more—because pets deserve pampering, too. No stay is complete without indulging in the flavors of Southern California, and Crown Landing, the resort’s signature restaurant. Helmed by Executive Chef Ana Rosales, the menu celebrates land and sea through sustainable partnerships with local purveyors like Catalina Offshore Products. Highlights include local catch of the day, rich seafood linguine, and a silky Coronado clam chowder spiked with jalapeño and bacon. Chef Rosales infuses the menu with the soul of her Mexican heritage, creating a culinary experience that is both comforting and elevated. Cays Lounge, with its fire pit–lined terrace overlooking the marina and downtown skyline, is a favorite for evening cocktails and relaxed bites. For casual fare, La Cantina offers fresh, south-of-the-border flavors poolside, while Silver Strand Exchange keeps guests fueled with grab-and-go options for beach days and excursions. With its own private marina, the resort is a natural playground for water lovers. Guests can rent paddleboards, kayaks, and sailboats right from the dock—or hop on a bike and explore the scenic Silver Strand Bike Path, a coastal trail bordered by the Pacific Ocean on one side and San Diego Bay on the other. And for those visiting for business or group retreats, Loews Coronado Bay Resort offers versatile meeting spaces and scenic venues that seamlessly transition from day to night. From sunset sails off the marina to group pickleball tournaments and al fresco cocktail receptions, the resort offers countless ways to connect. What makes Loews Coronado Bay Resort truly unforgettable is its one-of-a-kind location. Nestled on a secluded stretch of coastline with panoramic views of the bay, city, and Coronado Bridge, the resort feels worlds away from everyday life—yet it’s just minutes from the vibrant energy of downtown San Diego. OLD WALL ,

NEW TRICKS HANG UP THE OLD WAY AND TRY A GALLERY WALL HANGING SYSTEM IN YOUR HOME.
One of my happy places is sitting in front of a museum wall gallery. I can admire art for hours, and if I’m with a friend, there’s no telling how long we’ll sit, reflect, and share our individual perspectives. If you’ve admired gallery wall displays in magazines, catalogs, or on social media and would like to create one in your home, it’s much easier than you might think.
WHY CHOOSE A GALLERY WALL HANGING SYSTEM? The beauty of a gallery wall hanging system lies in its flexibility and ease of use. Traditional picture hanging methods can leave walls full of holes, making it cumbersome to adjust placements or update the display. A hanging system, however, allows for easy adjustments without additional damage to your walls. This feature is particularly advantageous for renters or anyone who likes to refresh their decor frequently.
DESIGNING YOUR GALLERY WALL The first step in creating a gallery wall is planning. Start by selecting a theme or color scheme that complements your space. Themes can be as varied as black-and-white photographs, abstract paintings, or a mix of personal and artistic prints.
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED: • A gallery wall hanging system, which typically includes mounting rails, cables or rods, and hooks. You can find them pretty much anywhere, online or at your local home improvement store. • A collection of frames and artwork. • A level, measuring tape, and perhaps a laser pointer for precision.
CREATIVE ARRANGEMENTS • The arrangement of your gallery wall can follow several patterns, depending on your taste: • Linear: Artworks are hung in a straight line at eye level, creating a clean and orderly appearance. • Grid: Perfect for a collection of similarly sized frames, this layout emphasizes structure and uniformity. • Salon Style: This more traditional arrangement involves layering pieces closely together, often extending across the wall. It’s ideal for creating a rich, filled look. Enjoy curating a space that is uniquely yours, evolving with your tastes and lifestyle. CONTINUED > S EP TEMB ER 2 0 2 5 | C I TYL I FE STYL E . C OM/FO RTC O L L I N S
21
INSTALL ATION TIPS: 01 MEASURE YOUR SPACE:
Carefully measure the wall space where you want to install the gallery. Consider the height and width available, keeping in mind furniture and other room features.
02 LAY IT OUT:
Arrange your artwork on the floor to finalize your layout. This “dry run” is crucial to get a feel for how the pieces will interact with one another. I like to use painter’s tape to create a visual of what my display will look like on the walls.
03 INSTALL THE RAILS
AND HANG YOUR ART:
Following the manufacturer’s instructions, mount the rails at the top of your wall. Ensure they are level and securely attached. Attach cables or rods to the rails, then use hooks to hang your frames. The beauty of the system is that you can adjust the height and position of each piece easily.
04 BALANCE
AND SYMMETRY: Step back to view your layout from different angles. Adjust the spacing and alignment as needed to achieve visual balance.

Realities For Children unites businesses, agencies, and community members to ensure no child is forgotten. Serving Northern Colorado’s most vulnerable youth, they provide safety, healing, and hope for children facing abuse, neglect, or crisis. With 100% of community contributions going directly to kids, they’re breaking cycles of trauma and building brighter futures—one child at a time. “We first found Realities For Children through the Ride and Rally in 2010. When we attended the Night Lights tree lighting in 2014, we learned the true mission. As business members, we choose to support Realities For Children because we believe every child deserves safety, healing, and hope. Their commitment to serving youth who have been abused, neglected, or are at risk aligns with our values. Together, we are investing in a future where no child is forgotten. We can help break cycles of trauma and build stronger, more resilient lives—one child, one family, and one story at a time.” – Pat Schnaidt (All Tech Automotive)
and businesses. We have always marvelled at how they bring our community together to fight child abuse and neglect and to build a coalition of agencies, businesses, and programs. It’s truly inspiring.” – Scott & Kristin Titterington (Rocky Mountain Publishing) “As a pediatric dentist and father, I’ve always believed that caring for children goes far beyond the dental chair. Partnering with Realities for Children was a natural step for us at Toothzone. Their mission to protect and uplift children facing abuse, neglect, or hardship aligns perfectly with our purpose. Every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported. Being a Gold Business Member is our way of saying: we’re part of the village—and we’re here to help build a brighter future, one smile at a time.” – Dr. Ryan Taylor (ToothZone Network) CONTINUED >

“Pedersen Toyota and Volvo have partnered with Realities for Children to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable youth in Northern Colorado. It was always Gerry Pedersen’s vision to take care of the community, especially its children, and that legacy continues today with Mark Pedersen’s commitment to supporting children in need. Recognizing the urgent need to assist youth facing abuse, neglect, or crisis, Pedersen is proud to give back through this partnership, helping
create safer, more supportive environments and driving lasting, positive change in Northern Colorado.” – Ron Emery (Pedersen Toyota) “When I first learned of Realities for Children over ten years ago through some business colleagues and understood how being a business partner could help the organization run its operations so that ALL of the money raised through fundraisers and other business and community donations would go the children I wanted to be a part of it, especially after hearing the passion and the why that was behind the organization. We are honored to be able to support this organization for all the good things it does in our community.” – Glenn Frank (Fort Collins Heating & Air Conditioning)

“The Heath family of companies has been business members of Realties for Children for over 20 years, and we are proud to have Heath Steel continue the tradition. We believe in RFC’s mission to support abused and neglected children in our communities and ensure that all funds donated go directly to supporting the children. Our employees come together every November to erect the Nightlights Tree, volunteering our time, talent, and treasures to reach further into the darkness.
Together we can build a safer community for those who need it most.” – Tony DeMario (Heath Steel) When I learned about the mission of Realities For Children, I immediately recognized the impact they were making. Their work goes beyond simply meeting the daily needs of children in crisis—they are actively working to break the heartbreaking cycles of abuse that affect so many young lives. Through critical support and long-term solutions, they provide hope, healing, and opportunities for a brighter future. It’s clear that this organization is deeply committed to creating lasting change for children who need it most. -Amber Soliday (Courtyard by Marriott)

FARM-TO-TABLE ENTERTAINING
PHOTOGRAPHY BY PAUL VERSLUIS
Spending time outdoors and enjoying friends and family over good food and drinks is a great way to enjoy the season’s beautiful weather. From the fresh flower arrangements, produce, and herbs, this earthy spread is brimming with character and flavor. The earthy ceramic and clay vases give the perfect vessel to fill with organic cut herbs and handpicked wildflowers. We arranged a beautiful medley of Queen Anne’s lace, mint, sage, rosemary, lavender, lamb’s ear, nigella, buddleia, oregano, dill, feverfew, and geranium to name just a few of these beautiful blooms. We love a good home-cooked menu mixed with a signature drink, so we paired our meal with a delicious craft cocktail. Buttermilk-brined fried chicken was a must for this outdoor party. A delicious peach bread pudding with salted vanilla caramel cream rounded out our meal for the perfect sweet treat. We wanted to share a few of our favorite recipes for you to try at home. Enjoy!

There are many things that can help a room feel relaxing, but let’s keep it simple and focus on my top three. I would say that one must incorporate good lighting, great textures, and a decluttered space to truly get the cozy vibes. Let’s tackle each.
GOOD LIGHTING It’s imperative that there are multiple sources of light in a space. Rooms need a soft warm light, so I always like to use a light bulb between 2,700k and 3,000k. Also, all lights should have the same temperature light bulb to avoid clashing. It’s not enough to just have recessed or pendant lighting. I add a table or floor lamp to a space to truly have ambient light. Candles are a must for me. They can be scented candles (an extra way to add relaxation) or I like to use remote control tapered candles, so I don’t have to worry about cleaning up wax later.

INVESTING IN HOME DESIGN CAN GIVE YOU A PEACEFUL SANCTUARY WHERE YOU CAN ESCAPE FROM THE STRESSES OF DAILY LIFE. SO GO AHEAD, TAKE THE PLUNGE AND REVAMP YOUR LIVING SPACES – IT’S WORTH EVERY PENNY! GREAT TEXTURES
Textures are seen in toss pillows, rugs, draperies, throw blankets and furniture upholstery. Textures add color, pattern and visual interest. I like to use at least three different textures to help a room feel lived-in and welcoming.
DECLUTTERING So many times, a person thinks that every nook and cranny and every wall need to have something, and this is not the case. A decluttered space is actually more relaxing because overcrowding of items doesn’t quiet the mind. Decluttering a space can be overwhelming, I get it, so just do it in stages. You’ll love the outcome when the room is tidy, organized and you are only surrounded with what brings you joy.
