The Cronic Automotive Group’s three dealerships in Griffin, just 25 minutes from Fayette County, each have impressive bestsellers. come with a very unique set of challenges, and fears, is an understatement. One of the biggest fears when thinking about her future is “What is going to happen to Abby when we’re gone? Where will she live and who will care for her?” As Abby does not have any siblings, this is a great concern, and finding a place for her to live as an adult is almost impossible considering the severity of Abby’s disability. On a Saturday morning about 4 years ago, I was woken up with a very clear message. I heard, almost audibly, “You need to build a home for adults with disabilities.” It was so clear, there was no denying that it was the Lord telling me exactly what He wanted for His special children. And so, I listened. And then, I acted. I called some individuals in the community who knew how to do such a thing since I, most certainly, did not. All of them said, "Yes, let's do this!" Prepare the soil for your garden. A good planting mix for potted gardens will help your soil retain moisture, and good drainage is key.
Dig holes large enough for each plant. Release the plants from their starter containers by turning them upside down, tapping the bottom, and gently pulling on the base of the stems until the plant comes out of the container. Place the plant in the hole and gently press soil around the edges to fill.
Water the plant immediately after planting; afterward, water them only when the soil gets dry to the touch. Over-watering can be just as bad for herbs as under-watering. Label your herbs and enjoy!

IF YOU VISIT THE TOWN AT TRILITH, YOU WILL SEE CLUSTERS OF 370 – 500 SQUARE FOOT HOMES, KNOWN AS MICRO-HOMES. Director of Residential Construction, Brett Baker, promotes the lifestyle. “We believe that quality should not have to go to the wayside just because it’s minimal.” The Trilith community places the importance of people and interaction over physical objects. “We wanted to offer a minimalistic home. A home that would require less maintenance and less material items,” Baker explains. The microhomes are clustered into groups of 3-6, creating a unique experience of community. “A home for you that is less stressful, where you can enjoy your place of refuge, but have the time and ability to do and focus on other things – to go outdoors and enjoy your community.” Building them to be eco-friendly is valuable, it provides homeowners with low expenses and smart home technology. "They are geothermal, can be a net-zero solution, ready for solar panels, and have an average utility bill of $28-30,” Baker states. “A smaller footprint means a smaller impact on the earth. Micro-homes require less material to build and fewer resources to run them.” There will be 50 micro-homes built at Trilith, ranging from $200K - $280K. This is your chance to have a better quality of life that involves less clutter and stress. CityLifestyle.com/FayetteCounty

When it didn’t sell, they patched every nail hole and moved out. They moved into what Tonya describes as a “shoebox” of a rental house. “We couldn’t see a way out,” she said, “but for God. We had never been at that place in our lives and we were like, ‘How do we feed our kids?’” When they attended church on Sundays at Fayetteville First Baptist, four generations of Tonya’s family all sat on the same pew, including her grandfather who has since passed away. “My grandfather would put $50 in my pocket every single Sunday, and that bought our groceries for a family of five for a whole week.” Out of the corporate world for a while, Tonya felt unmarketable and building houses was all Shane knew. “I just started praying, ‘What do I do now?’” Tonya said. God directing her toward a real estate career. Others weren’t so sure. “My family was like, ‘You’ve lost your blooming mind! Your whole life has changed because of the real estate market—you can’t do that.’” Shane, however, told her, “If the Lord’s called you to it, I’ve got your back. I’ll support you.” Tonya studied real estate on the side while working at the Starr’s Mill Chick-fil-A and substitute teaching. Shane laid tile and cut grass. “We just did what we could,” she said. Earning her license in 2008, Tonya went to work for Jan Trammell who told her, “Go get ’em sugah!” Initially, she was earning $50 per showing for houses and rentals. “I call it being in the trenches,” she said. Ironically, one of her first listings was with a bank that had financed lots their construction company had bought and then lost. The banker told them he’d never met anyone with more integrity. “We always did what we said we would do,” she said. From that connection, Tonya listed lots, which sold to a builder, and then sold houses for that builder. After she sold her first home, Tonya doubled her business every year for nine years. Eventually moving to Prudential, now Berkshire Hathaway, Tonya recalls attending an event for Master’s agents when she hadn’t sold enough to become one. Seated among these high-producing agents, she dreamed of being in the top ten in her office. Shane brought her to reality when he called during the event to tell her their septic tank was backed up. “We didn’t have the $300 to fix it,” she said. Still, Tonya did become one of the top ten agents in her office and in 2019 she was the number one Berkshire Hathaway agent in Georgia and number six in the entire world. “From the minute I made the financial and emotional commitment it’s been a business, not a hobby,” she said. Optimistic about the real estate market in Fayette and Coweta counties, Tonya said, “We’re in a unique environment. People are coming from outside the city looking for this little bubble we have. We have a sweet little community here.” Brooks residents for more than Tonya and her dream team, Michelle Wagner (L) and Mattie Keaton (R)

The designer is specifically managing colors, fabrics, furnishings, art and accessories, and collaborating with the larger team on lighting, flooring and granite. The project between Two Sparrows Village and Christian City is expected to be completed by fall of 2021. When Angie Palmer is not infusing joy though her design, she seeks quality time with her husband, J.B., and their 16-year-old cat, Jeri, in their two-story brick colonial home. In the mornings, Jeri accompanies Angie while she sips her “happy” coffee. Work and inspiration take place in the designer’s 1,200 square foot studio complete with tools and resources needed for a busy design professional. Weekends may find Angie gardening or riding her e-bike on Peachtree City’s cart paths. “It’s one of the ways I can spend time with my cyclist husband, and ride the way I like – for pure joy,” she smiles.

INSPIRED BY (CONTINUED) :: S TE P 1: MAK E A PL AN :: Make a list and check it twice. Write out a plan or create a spring cleaning list, if you need assistance here, Pinterest is a great resource. Break your house into zones, it can be overwhelming otherwise. Below is an example of what your zones might look like. Zone 1- Bedrooms Zone 2 - Bathrooms Zone 3 - Office and playroom Zone 4 - Kitchen, dining room, and living room Zone 5 - Laundry room Zone 6 - Outdoors :: STEP 2: FIND THE RIGHT CLEANING PRODUCTS :: This is not a one size fits all situation. You need to find cleaning products that compliment your home. “Using good quality products that smell nice is a game-changer,” Amy says. Each family is different, finding the right scent for you is part of the fun. She recommends Mrs. Meyer’s multi-surface spray. Her favorite scents are Honeysuckle and Peony. :: S TE P 3 : PUSH PL AY :: Grab your earbuds and set the mood. Whether this is an audiobook, music or podcast, listening to something you love will inspire your spring cleaning. “Whatever media you’re into, I recommend pushing play to help pass the time and make it more enjoyable.” :: S TE P 4 : SE T A TIME R :: Motivate yourself by setting a timer, especially if you don’t have the whole day to clean. Amy recommends power cleaning for an hour, followed by a break, before tackling it again. It is important to take a breather so you don’t burn yourself out. Hey, while you’re at it, turn on your activity tracker to count steps and calories burned. Cleaning is a great workout. :: STEP 5: TOP TO BOT TOM AND LEFT TO RIGHT :: The most efficient way to deep clean a room is from top to bottom and left to right. This will save you time and keep you focused as you clean. Cleaning from top to bottom makes it so you never clean twice. Starting at the top allows the dust to collect at the bottom. Moving from left to right ensures that you aren’t missing anything while cleaning. Always clean the floors last.
