Invested in What Matters Most

In every season of life, we’re making investments, sometimes with our money, often with our time and always with our trust. This April, Elkhorn City Lifestyle turns its focus to the power of smart investment and the local businesses helping our community build, protect and enjoy what matters most.

Investment isn’t just about numbers on a page. It’s about clarity of vision, confidence in decisions and long-term care. You’ll see that reflected in our featured partners this month, beginning with Vance Thompson Vision, where investing in your eyesight means investing in quality of life itself. Clear vision, after all, changes everything.

Financial confidence takes center stage with Realize Wealth Management with Morgan Stanley, offering guidance rooted in strategy, foresight and personal goals, because true wealth is built with intention.

We also highlight investments closer to home and health. Innovative Dental reminds us that preventative care and modern technology pay dividends well beyond a smile. Meanwhile, Core Bank Mortgage Division walks readers through one of life’s biggest commitments - homeownership - with expertise and approachability.

Outside, Sun Valley Landscaping shows how investing in outdoor spaces enhances daily living, curb appeal and long-term value. And inside, Your Style Cabinets & Design proves that thoughtful design is both a functional and emotional investment, one that shapes how we live every day.

This issue is a reminder that the best investments are rarely rushed. They’re considered, local and built to last. We’re proud to share the stories of businesses helping Elkhorn invest wisely: in homes, health, finances and the future.

Here’s to making choices today that you’ll be glad you made tomorrow.

Vance Thompson Vision

At Vance Thompson Vision, the philosophy is simple: when you invest in your team, patients benefit. From surgeons and providers to technicians and support staff, the organization prioritizes ongoing education and advanced training within a collaborative culture focused on providing each individual patient with specialized care.

BY MEND JOIN MAKE PHOTOGRAPHY BY NICHOLAS

ARTICLE

That commitment directly shapes the patient experience. When a team feels supported and empowered, it shows in every interaction. Patients feel confident in the expertise behind their care, comfortable asking questions and genuinely cared for from their first visit through their final outcome. This people-first approach has supported the organization’s growth across nine locations throughout the Mid- and Mountain West, demonstrating that strong teams create exceptional patient experiences.

In Omaha, that philosophy is reflected in a team of physicians and healthcare professionals dedicated to serving the local community with both expertise and heart. From the moment patients walk through the doors, they are greeted by a dedicated First Impressions team focused solely on welcoming and assisting them. Because a centralized phone team supports incoming calls behind the scenes, in-clinic staff are free from the distraction of ringing phones and can give their full attention to the patients in front of them. The result is an environment where individuals feel seen, heard and prioritized.

Vance Thompson Vision’s reputation is built not by one individual, but by a collaborative team of highly skilled physicians, specialists and healthcare professionals who share a common purpose. Every day, that team works together to deliver exceptional outcomes while creating an

experience rooted in trust and expertise. In Omaha, that teamwork extends beyond clinical care to every detail of the patient journey, from streamlined check-ins to thoughtful touches like freshly baked cookies in the atrium that create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

For decades, Vance Thompson Vision has been a leader in advanced ophthalmic care and vision correction. The team has helped pioneer surgical techniques, thoughtfully adopt emerging technologies and elevate standards of care that influence practices nationwide. By continually investing in research and innovation, the organization ensures patients benefit from the latest advancements in eye care, often bringing new technology and techniques to the communities it serves ahead of many other markets.

Despite these achievements, the true driving force behind Vance Thompson Vision has always been its patients. Every investment in technology, every research initiative and every professional standard is ultimately guided by a single goal: delivering the best possible outcomes and experiences for the people who entrust the team with their vision. That trust is something the organization never takes lightly.

That is why Vance Thompson Vision is committed to assembling not only the most skilled clinical teams, but also the most compassionate ones. From the first consultation to long-term follow-up care, patients are treated with respect, empathy and individualized attention. It is this balance of innovation and humanity, expertise paired with genuine, personalized care, that defines Vance Thompson Vision and continues to guide everything we do.

Dr. Brandon Baartman, Lead Surgeon at Vance Thompson Vision in Omaha

Dr. Brandon Baartman, MD

Dr. Baartman is the lead surgeon at Vance Thompson Vision in Omaha. He has a deep passion for improving eye care in the community he serves through his commitment to education, research, technology and improving the patient experience. After graduating from the Wake Forest School of Medicine, he completed his fellowship at Vance Thompson Vision, a decision that ultimately led him to join the team full-time. He was drawn to the organization’s commitment to research and meaningful patient experiences. Beyond his work locally, he has provided sight-saving surgery to patients across the globe, bringing life-changing care to communities in need.

Dr. Lorraine M. Provencher, MD

Dr. Provencher developed an interest in eye care during her time at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She was quickly drawn to the precise, life-changing nature of ophthalmic surgery, balanced by meaningful clinical interactions. She performs cataract surgery and specializes in the comprehensive care of patients with advanced glaucoma, dedicating her work to both clinical excellence and research aimed at slowing or preventing disease progression. Equally important to her is building lasting relationships with patients. Dr. Provencher believes Vance Thompson Vision reflects her values by prioritizing personalized care and developing treatment plans that align with each patient’s goals, lifestyle and long-term eye health.

Dr. Keegan Mechels, MD

Dr. Mechels was introduced to eye care at a young age. While exploring career opportunities in college, he shadowed both optometry and ophthalmology at Vance Thompson Vision in Omaha, an experience that helped shape his decision to pursue ophthalmology. As an oculoplastic surgeon, Dr. Mechels specializes in eyelid procedures that restore comfort, function and confidence for his patients. For Dr. Mechels, meaningful patient interactions are at the heart of his work. He understands that entrusting someone with your vision is deeply personal and never taken lightly. He was drawn to Vance Thompson Vision’s patient-first philosophy and its commitment to advancing care through innovation, ensuring patients receive the highest level of expertise and attention.

Dr. John Goertz, OD

Originally pursuing a career in electrical engineering, Dr. Goertz found himself seeking a more people-oriented profession. After graduating from Kansas State University, he attended the University of Houston College of Optometry where he earned his doctorate. Later, he joined Vance Thompson Vision because the organization shares his philosophy that every patient deserves the best care possible. He approaches each patient as he would a family member, valuing thoughtful problem-solving and personalized solutions that improve quality of life.

Dr. Kristen Walton, OD

Dr. Walton’s journey into eye care was inspired by family. After witnessing her grandfather’s struggle with vision loss, she developed a deep appreciation for the impact eye health can have on daily life. She studied at Minnesota State University Moorhead before completing her optometry training and gaining experience through externships and internships across the country. At Vance Thompson Vision, Dr. Walton focuses on building trust, ensuring patients feel heard, informed and genuinely cared for throughout their experience.

Dr. Lawrence Nguyen, OD

Dr. Nguyen’s passion for optometry began the moment she experienced clear vision for the first time as a child. That life-changing moment inspired her to pursue a career in optometry and deliver the same life-changing experience to patients. After graduating from the University of Nebraska, she attended the University of Houston College of Optometry. She values the organization’s commitment to advanced technology, thoughtful care and helping patients see and live more fully.

Dr. Kate Holthaus, OD

At the age of 10, Dr. Holthaus attended her mother’s eye exam. She was amazed by the different technology doctors used and how it was able to help her mother see more clearly. After graduating from the University of Nebraska Omaha, she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry. For Dr. Holthaus, education is at the core of her passion for eye care, and it is one of the reasons she was drawn to Vance Thompson Vision in Omaha. She is passionate about helping patients feel confident and informed about their eye health, believing that education plays a vital role in long-term outcomes and trust.

At its core, Vance Thompson Vision represents what is possible when clinical excellence, innovation and compassion are pursued with equal intention. Here in Omaha, that commitment comes to life through a team of physicians and healthcare professionals dedicated to serving this community with expertise and heart. While the organization is known for advancing research and technology in ophthalmology, what matters most to patients locally is the experience they have right here: personal attention, thoughtful recommendations and care delivered with integrity.

Looking ahead, the Omaha team remains focused on continuing to grow alongside the community it serves. From investing in advanced surgical technology to mentoring future eye care leaders and expanding access to specialized services, the focus is not only on innovation, but on ensuring patients in Omaha receive the highest level of care close to home. With a dedication to education, excellence and human connection, Vance Thompson Vision invites patients to see their eye health as one of life’s most meaningful investments, supported by a team rooted in Omaha and committed to helping this community see its best for years to come.

Building Wealth to Live the Life You Love

Freedom:

What does financial freedom mean to you? For some, it is synonymous with financial security. But for others, the definition of financial freedom goes beyond money to include living with purpose, cultivating a healthy mind and spirit or being able to pursue their dreams without fear of the unknown or unexpected. No matter how you define it, the fundamental steps of mapping a path to the opportunities that financial freedom offers are the same.

THE PATH TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM

1. Define your goals.

What is your vision of a successful life? Defining your goals as specifically as possible helps you begin to establish priorities and distinguish between needs and wants. Once you have clearly identified your priorities, you can start thinking about what types of financial trade-offs or lifestyle compromises you’re willing to make to achieve your version of success on your own terms.

2. Set a budget.

Living on a budget may sound limiting, but in reality, a budget is a valuable tool for helping you do the things you really want by showing you how much money you will need to do them. Start by calculating your income and tracking your current expenses. Then separate your needs from your wants in the context of your overall goals. Once you set your budget, the most important thing is to stick to it, monitor how you’re doing and then adjust if necessary.

3. Make a habit of saving.

Saving early, automatically and often is the cornerstone of an effective wealth-creation strategy as it allows you to take advantage of the power

of compound interest. Prioritize saving over optional expenses and make automatic deposits to your savings, investment or retirement account if your company enables you to do so. In addition, contributing to a flexible spending account, health savings account, retirement plan or education savings account enables you to take advantage of tax benefits. You can also trim spending by changing your habits—for example, bringing instead of buying lunch or unsubscribing from retailer email lists to avoid the temptation to buy things you don’t really need.

4. Align your investment strategy with your goals. If you’re thinking about investing, you’ll want to formulate an investment strategy that helps you achieve your goals. Begin by figuring out how much you’ll need (your target), when you’ll need it (your time frame) and how much risk you can live with (your risk tolerance). These inputs help to define your asset allocation—the mix of asset classes (stocks, bonds, cash equivalents and other investments) in your portfolio. Since different asset classes tend to behave differently under different market conditions, the goal is to find the mix of investments that has the highest probability of helping you reach your goals.

Nick Nalbach, CFP®, CIMA®, CPWA®

5. Establish good credit.

Don’t underestimate the value of a high credit score. Your credit score is how people assess the level of financial risk associated with giving you a loan or conducting any kind of business with you, including renting an apartment or buying a cell phone. To improve your credit score, pay your bills on time, borrow (but don’t overborrow) and monitor your credit reports from each of the three main credit score suppliers— Equifax, Experian and TransUnion—on a regular basis.

GETTING STARTED

No matter how old you are or where you are in life, the future you envision begins with a comprehensive plan and a financial advisor who cares about you and your unique definition of financial freedom.

HOW SUN VALLEY LANDSCAPING CULTIVATES

LASTING RETURNS THROUGH CULTURE, CRAFTSMANSHIP AND COMMUNITY

Ashly Paladino never expected to build a career in landscaping. With a background in corporate event planning, she spent years managing logistics, clients and high-pressure timelines before seeking a more sustainable work-life balance.

That shift led to a series of meetings with Sun Valley Landscaping co-owner Paul Fraynd, who was searching for a business manager to help grow his company. What began as a conversation about operational support soon evolved into a shared vision, and Paladino stepped into a leadership role that would shape both her career and the company’s future.

Today, as COO at Sun Valley Landscaping, Paladino blends business strategy, people-focused leadership and industry advocacy to help guide a thriving organization. Her path into a traditionally male-dominated field has not only influenced her leadership style but also strengthened her commitment to creating opportunity for others.

A BUSINESS BUILT ON VISION AND PARTNERSHIP

Sun Valley Landscaping was formed by merging two complementary businesses. One focused on lawn maintenance and fertilization, while the other specialized in natural stone supply and landscape design.

The partnership formally united in 2012, bringing together shared clients and a mutual investment in long-term growth. In the beginning, the company employed about 16 people.

Today, that number has grown to more than 85 employees, with continued expansion planned. Growth and impact have always been the goal, and today expectations have been exceeded.

For Paladino, the appeal of joining the company was rooted in a broader purpose.

“Paul had a vision and I felt passionate toward the goal: a landscaping company that created careers and futures for people,” Paladino says.

That emphasis on building careers rather than simply completing projects continues to guide Sun Valley’s growth. Leadership intentionally scales the business to create opportunities for advancement, mentorship and long-term stability for employees.

PEOPLE-FIRST CULTURE IN A CRAFT-DRIVEN INDUSTRY

While landscaping often centers on patios, walls and outdoor transformations, Paladino believes the true differentiator lies in the people behind the work. Sun Valley emphasizes a culture of respect, collaboration and celebration of the craft itself.

“Our culture is very people-forward,” Paladino says. “We want our employees to look like the customer base we serve. Our community is very diverse, and that’s what we want our employee base to look like.”

The company actively works to create an environment where employees feel valued and supported. That commitment extends beyond hiring to ongoing training and internal promotion opportunities, reinforcing the idea that landscaping can be a meaningful long-term profession.

Paladino also plays an active role in industry advocacy, volunteering nationally and serving locally on association boards to help attract new talent. She is particularly passionate about encouraging women to explore careers in landscaping.

“Being a female in this business, I want women to know this industry just isn’t for men,” she says. “This is a very fun career for women. Look at what we do every day. We get to make spaces beautiful.”

“Truly, our purpose is to make these environments something beautiful and stable and provide career and growth opportunities.”
“This is such a fun career for women. Look at what we do every day, we get to make spaces beautiful.”

A CLIENT EXPERIENCE THAT BEGINS WITH LISTENING

Sun Valley’s approach to customer service mirrors its internal culture. The client journey begins with a detailed intake process designed to match homeowners with the right team members and understand how they truly want to use their outdoor spaces.

“Our conversation actually doesn’t start in your backyard. It starts at the kitchen table,” Paladino explains.

Consultations focus on lifestyle, functionality and long-term goals before design concepts are created. Once a project moves into production, clients receive a concierge-style experience with dedicated project managers, consistent communication and respectful job site practices.

“Truly, our purpose is to make these environments something beautiful and stable and provide career and growth opportunities,” Paladino explains.

By blending thoughtful design, attentive service and a commitment to its people, Sun Valley Landscaping continues to shape both outdoor environments and the future of the industry - one project and one career at a time.

To learn more about Sun Valley Landscaping or to begin planning your own outdoor transformation, visit their office at 5601 Harrison St., Omaha. Homeowners can connect with the team by calling (402) 703-2819 or submit an inquiry online at sunvalleyomaha.com. CREATING CONFIDENT Smiles and HEALTHIER LIVES

At Innovative Dental, Every Appointment is an Investment in Long-Term Wellness and Self-Confidence

Dr. Summer Gutschow, DDS, didn’t always envision herself in dentistry. Originally pursuing a pre-law track, a pivotal visit to a law firm followed by time spent in her longtime dentist’s office revealed where she truly belonged.

Drawn to the artistic, hands-on nature of dental care and inspired by her parents’ fear of dental visits, she committed early to creating a practice that feels both beautiful and comforting.

Today, through Innovative Dental Care, she blends clinical expertise, ongoing advanced training and a deeply personal approach to patient care that prioritizes total wellness and meaningful connection.

A VISION BEYOND TRADITIONAL DENTISTRY

From its earliest planning stages, Innovative Dental Care was designed to feel more like a welcoming home than a clinical setting. Years of intentional design choices centered on one goal: reducing anxiety and creating comfort for every patient who walks through the door.

“I’ve always loved creating art, but I wanted to do something more than just make art,” Dr. Summer says.

Her philosophy centers on treating root causes rather than simply addressing symptoms. Dentistry, she believes, provides a powerful window into overall health.

“Going to the dentist is a really great opportunity to get a sneak peek into your total well-being,” Dr. Summer explains.

Every element of the office reinforces that approach. From calming window treatments and individualized music options in each room to consistent systems of care that ensure smooth,

predictable visits, the environment is carefully curated to replace fear with reassurance and even moments of joy.

“Every area we designed was built around comfort,” Dr. Summer says.

DENTISTRY AS A GATEWAY TO TOTAL HEALTH

Routine appointments at Innovative Dental Care extend far beyond cleanings and cavity checks. Each six-month visit includes comprehensive oral cancer screenings and examinations that can reveal broader health concerns, from sleep apnea and sinus issues to acid reflux and head or neck abnormalities.

The practice also emphasizes emerging research linking oral health to systemic conditions, helping patients understand what happens in the mouth affects the entire body.

“The more we know about ourselves, the better we can advocate for ourselves,” Dr. Summer notes. “I think knowledge is power in any vein of life, but especially when it comes to our wellness.”

A FOCUS ON AIRWAY AND SLEEP HEALTH

One of Dr. Summer’s strongest passions is airway-focused dentistry. Many patients arrive with chronic tension, fatigue or disrupted sleep without realizing their symptoms may be linked to breathing or airway issues.

“There are so many people that struggle with symptoms and don’t fully understand where they are coming from,” she says.

Rather than defaulting to stronger night guards for clenching

Built with patient comfort in mind, treatment rooms come equipped with personalized music and spa-like finishes and grinding, she investigates underlying causes such as sleep-disordered breathing or sleep apnea.

“We can see the why, rather than just treating the symptoms,” Dr. Summer explains, reflecting the practice’s broader commitment to uncovering root causes and empowering patients through education.

COMFORT, CONFIDENCE AND INCLUSIVE CARE

Recognizing how common dental anxiety can be, Innovative Dental Care offers a layered approach to comfort. From personalized support options and sedation services to a calming environment and empathetic staff, the practice strives to make care accessible for even the most fearful patients. The goal is simple yet powerful: every patient deserves to feel seen, respected and welcomed.

WHERE SCIENCE MEETS ART

While deeply committed to health-focused dentistry, Dr. Summer also embraces the transformative power of aesthetics. Advanced training in cosmetic procedures and smile design allows her to blend clinical precision with artistic vision.

“I think my passion also comes from making things pretty,” she explains. “I love doing smile design makeovers.”

For many patients, restoring a smile goes beyond appearance.

“Sometimes people come in and they’re ashamed of their smile. To see somebody smile with all of their teeth and be so proud of their smile, that’s a powerful thing to get to contribute to,” Dr. Summer says.

Innovative Dental Care offers custom porcelain veneers, ceramic coverings bonded to the front of existing teeth to improve color, shape and symmetry, often correcting concerns such as chips, discoloration or uneven spacing.

“Going to the dentist is a great opportunity to get a sneak peek into your total well-being. The more we know, the better we can advocate for ourselves.”
“To see somebody smile with all of their teeth and be so proud of their smile, that's a powerful thing to get to contribute to.”

Each patient’s journey toward their dream smile begins with a comprehensive evaluation of oral health and a personalized treatment plan, allowing Dr. Summer to design veneers that complement the patient’s features while maintaining a natural look and feel.

Temporary veneers provide a preview of the final result before permanent restorations are bonded and polished, creating a seamless transformation.

A PRACTICE BUILT ON PEOPLE

Innovative Dental Care’s culture is shaped not only by its philosophy but also by its close-knit team. Hygienists and support staff each bring distinct strengths, from patient education and preventive care to calming reassurance for anxious visitors. Together, they create a cohesive environment where patients often build lasting relationships and feel genuinely cared for.

The result is a dental home that blends advanced clinical care, whole-body health awareness and authentic human connection. At Innovative Dental Care, appointments are no longer something to dread but an opportunity to feel informed, supported and confident in both health and smile.

Patients can explore services, meet the team and request appointments online at www.identalomaha.com. Whether seeking preventive care, aesthetic dentistry or answers to underlying health concerns, Dr. Summer Gutschow and her team are committed to helping every patient feel informed, comfortable and confident in their care.

WHERE Local Lending BECOMES A Smart INVESTMENT

Core Bank’s Mortgage Division Prioritizes Relationships as Much as Results

ARTICLE BY HAILEY ZEBLEY PHOTOGRAPHY BY

JENNIFER STUDANSKI PHOTOGRAPHY & CORE BANK

A home is more than a purchase, it’s one of life’s most significant investments. At Core Bank, Director Brian Dryak leads a mortgage team that understands both the numbers and the neighborhoods, guiding clients with clarity, strategy and a commitment to longterm financial confidence.

With nearly three decades in the mortgage industry and 18 years at Core Bank, Dryak brings seasoned expertise and hands-on perspective to local lending.

A CLIENT-FIRST LENDING PHILOSOPHY

At Core Bank, lending is viewed as a collaborative process rather than a transaction. Dryak and his team position themselves as problem-solvers who guide borrowers through home financing with clarity and care.

The mortgage team is well-versed in a wide range of lending products and works to match each borrower with the right solution. If a client isn’t ready to qualify, the conversation doesn’t end there. Instead, the team explains why and provides practical next steps, often creating a six- to 12-month plan to help borrowers strengthen their financial footing. This educational approach reflects Core Bank’s commitment to long-term relationships rather than one-time transactions.

FROM APPLICATION TO APPROVAL

Most clients begin with a simple online or mobile application. Core Bank generally responds within about 24 hours, with either a pre-approval letter to share with a realtor or clear direction on how to improve income, debt or expectations to align with a realistic price range.

Dryak encourages buyers to think beyond qualifying on paper. The team helps clients evaluate real-life expenses and lifestyle choices so their future mortgage remains comfortable and sustainable. This balanced approach ensures homeownership enhances daily life rather than creating financial strain.

“The first thing to do is to go speak to a lender. Don’t start looking at homes and getting your heart set on a house or a price point,” Dryak says. “A lot of people find the house, fall in love with it, show Mom and Dad and then they call their lender and find out they can’t qualify.”

The Core Bank mortgage team

LOCAL TEAM, LOCAL ADVANTAGE

A defining strength of Core Bank’s mortgage division is its fully local structure. Lenders, processors, underwriters and closers all operate within the same office, allowing for quick communication and streamlined decision-making. Instead of navigating out-of-state processing centers, clients benefit from a cohesive team that can respond quickly and keep transactions moving forward.

This close collaboration creates a supportive internal culture and a smoother experience for borrowers and realtors alike. Faster answers and efficient turn times provide a valuable advantage in competitive markets where timing can make all the difference.

“We’re very well versed in all products. Core Bank has access to nearly every lending product,” Dryak says. “We take pride in our ability to explore every available option. If we can’t find a solution for you, it’s likely one simply doesn’t exist.”

Recognizing that real estate often happens outside traditional hours, Core Bank’s mortgage team remains accessible evenings and weekends. Whether issuing a last-minute pre-approval or answering urgent questions, the team works to ensure clients and realtors feel supported throughout the process.

WHERE FUNCTIONALITY Meets Flair

YOUR STYLE CABINETS & DESIGN CREATES DESIGN ENVIRONMENTS THAT HARMONIZE AESTHETICS, FUNCTIONALITY AND LASTING COMFORT

ARTICLE BY HAILEY ZEBLEY
PHOTOGRAPHY BY SAMMIE RODRIGUEZ, SAMMIE R STUDIOS

Your Style Cabinets & Design understands cabinetry is more than just a way to organize. It’s essential to aesthetics and functionality and the foundation of any beautifully designed space. Specializing in semi-custom cabinetry for every room in your home or office, they bring refined craftsmanship and thoughtful design to every project.

AN INSPIRED COLLABORATION

Your Style Cabinets & Design was born from owner Larry Peterson’s extensive experience in the construction industry. After many years as a home-framing contractor and custom-home builder with Larry Peterson Construction, the transition to launching his own cabinet company became a natural progression. Alongside his daughter Nicholl Kilgore, the two recognized an opportunity to provide quality cabinetry and in-house design services.

Today, Your Style Cabinets & Design offers tailored solutions that resonate with individual style and practical needs, creating spaces that are both beautiful and enduring. From kitchens and baths to built-ins and workspaces, their remodeling and design services are dedicated to transforming ideas into reality.

Kilgore, the company’s client services manager, offers a background rooted in sales, customer service and hands-on project management, while seasoned designer Carie Lynch, who brings more than 20 years of designing kitchens and bathrooms, approaches each project with a balance of creativity and problem-solving. Together, their complementary strengths form the foundation of a relationship-driven cabinetry firm focused on both design excellence and meaningful client connections.

Nicholl Kilgore and Carie Lynch make up the Client Services and Design team at Your Style Cabinets & Design

From the first consultation through the final walkthrough, Kilgore and Lynch work closely with homeowners to ensure each space reflects both personal style and daily functionality. Their shared philosophy centers on listening first, then designing with intent, an approach that has helped establish lasting relationships and a steady stream of referrals built on trust and satisfaction.

A RELATIONSHIP-DRIVEN APPROACH

At the heart of Your Style Cabinets & Design is a belief that cabinetry and remodeling projects are deeply personal. Kilgore enjoys meeting clients in their homes, learning how they live and guiding them through each step of the process. Rather than a transactional experience, projects often grow into genuine relationships built on trust and communication.

“I’m passionate about working with people,” Kilgore says. “For me, it’s all about being in a client’s space and creating something specific to their taste and functional needs. I love getting to know the client throughout a project.”

Building these relationships ensures the end result is something they’ll love for years to come.”

DESIGNING WITH PURPOSE

For Lynch, cabinet design is more than just aesthetics; it’s an opportunity to enhance functionality that extends far beyond what you see on the outside.

“Cabinet design revolves around asking the right questions to develop an optimal layout while striking a balance between functionality and visual appeal. As a cabinet designer, I understand that collaboration and tailored solutions are essential to this process,” Lynch explains. “By partnering closely with the homeowner, we can suggest the right finishes and layouts to meet their specific needs.”

Their semi-custom cabinetry options allow for flexibility in style and function, while their hands-on support helps homeowners navigate decisions with confidence, ensuring each space feels cohesive, intentional and tailored to everyday living.

Lynch couldn’t agree more. “Seeing a client’s joy when our ideas become reality is incredibly rewarding,” she says. “It’s those moments when they see it in their own space that make it all worthwhile.

INDOOR PLANT GUIDE

Investing in indoor plants can not only spruce up your living space, but also bring numerous health and well-being benefits

Bringing the outdoors in with the use of house plants is a great way to add color and dimension to your space. We sat down with Jesse Nelson at Family Tree Nursery, based in Kansas, and discussed the benefits of incorporating plant life into your home. “There are plenty of studies on the health benefits of plants, and the evidence suggests that being around plants and caring for plant life increases overall wellness,” explains Nelson. “Anytime you bring a plant into a home or work environment, it’s going to make you feel better. It is going to beautify the space in a way that art cannot, and they also have the added benefit of  purifying the air.” There are a wide variety of indoor plants that work for any space and light situation that you may have. Regardless if you have a green thumb or a black thumb, there are plant varieties that fit your lifestyle. Here are a few of our favorite indoor plants to incorporate into your home.

ANTHURIUM:

Anthurium has gorgeous, colorful flowers and is the easiest indoor flowering plant to care for. It comes in a variety of colors including red, white, orange and purple. Anthurium likes to be dry, so let it go bone dry before watering. Fertilize every so often, especially when blooming. These plants do not like direct sunlight and can be repotted every three to five years.

HOPE PEPEROMIA:

This cascading plant is gaining popularity due to its succulent-like leaves and also because it is fairly easy to care for. The Hope Peperomia likes medium to bright direct sunlight. It does well as a tabletop plant or a hanging plant. Watering is only needed one time a month regardless of plant size.

“Anytime you bring a plant into a home or work environment, it’s going to make you feel better. It is going to beautify the space in a way that art cannot, and they also have the added benefit of  purifying the air.”

This is a slow-growing variety that is architectural and compact. This plant is a great statement piece and looks great in an entryway or by a chair. There are a lot of varieties and colors of the Dracaena. They are very resilient in low light and are great for an office space with little or no light. They like to stay on the dry side, so they like to be watered when they are about ½ to ¾ of the way dry. When watering, give it a good soak. Pro tip: A moisture meter can be purchased and used to determine how dry your plant is to help determine when it is time to water again.

Redefining MVP: TIM TEBOW’S LIFE BEYOND FOOTBALL

An exclusive Q&A with City Lifestyle

PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED

From championship trophies to global humanitarian impact, Tim Tebow’s journey has defied every standard playbook. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Tebow pulls back the curtain on the moments that truly defined him, from a humbling middle school church retreat to the life-altering shift of fatherhood. This isn’t just a look back at a career; it’s an invitation into the heart of a man driven by purpose. Read the highlights below, then join us for the full, unfiltered experience by scanning the QR code at the end.

Q: WE ALL KNOW YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD, BUT TELL US ABOUT THE CURL CONTEST.

A: I was competing for my future high school team (my brother’s team), and I pushed myself way past what was smart. I ended up collapsing and needing medical attention. But what stayed with me wasn’t the pain, it was the lesson. Would I be willing to do something that others aren’t? For much of my life, I strived to bring my best for a game, but I hope that I can say at the end of my life I was willing to do that for things that actually matter.

Q: YOU’VE ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN SPORTS. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT NOW?

A: Becoming a dad. Nothing compares. From the moment I knew my wife was pregnant, I felt a new depth of love for our child, but when you bring your baby home, the responsibility hits you like nothing else. Suddenly, everything you see, every decision you make, you’re asking, “Is this corner too sharp? What happens if she reaches that drawer?” It changes how you see the world and how you see other people.

Q: YOU’VE SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT DISAPPOINTMENT, ESPECIALLY AROUND FOOTBALL. HOW DID THAT SEASON OF LIFE SHAPE YOU?

A: I talked a lot about that very thing in my book Shaken . We all go through moments where our faith in our abilities and purpose feels rattled, but I believe it’s often in those storms when God can show us who we could become.

Q: YOU TALK A LOT ABOUT COMPARISON CULTURE. WHY DO YOU BELIEVE COMPARISON HAS BECOME SUCH A TRAP TODAY?

A: Because we’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel. Social media shows people’s “best day,” often filtered and staged, and then we measure our reality against that. There’s a reason filters are so popular—it’s not real. We end up scrolling through images that don’t tell the full story, and without realizing it, comparison starts to steal our joy and our gratitude.

“We’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel... comparison starts to steal our joy.”

Q: YOUR FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON THE “MOST VULNERABLE.” WHERE DID THAT CALLING BEGIN?

A: When I was 15, I met a boy in the Philippines who was treated as a throwaway because he was born with physical differences. That moment changed me. I realized God was calling me to pursue a different kind of MVP, not “Most Valuable Player,” but “Most Vulnerable People.”

Q: FINALLY, WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?

A: I have some weird coffee habits, which include protein powder, collagen, and cream all mixed together. I love golf dates with my wife. And every night, I bring snacks to bed to share with our dogs. It brings me more joy than it probably should.

This conversation barely scratches the surface. Tim goes deeper into the moments that rattled him, the joys of fatherhood, and one story he has never shared publicly until now. Scan the QR code for the full, exclusive City Lifestyle interview on Share the Lifestyle Podcast.
