Holidays & Giving
The holiday season is here, bringing with it the sights, sounds, and traditions that make this time of year so magical. For many of us, the holidays are a chance to recreate the joy we felt as children, whether it’s through the twinkle of festive lights, the aroma of holiday baking, or cherished family traditions.
This month, we are looking at unique local treasures including Charlie Lydecker’s private car col lection, and local Daytona businesses that can help you make this season memorable.
While this season is joyful for many, it can also be a difficult time for those who are grieving, lonely, or in need. In the spirit of the season, let’s come together as a community to extend kindness and compassion to those who may be struggling. Whether it’s donating to a local charity, volunteering your time, or simply checking in on a neighbor, every act of generosity makes a difference.
May your holidays be filled with love, peace, and the joy of giving.
Happy Holidays,

A CAR FOR THE HOLIDAYS
ARTICLE BY ERICA RAINS PHOTOGRAPHY BY CHRISTOPHE HANCKOWIAK
There are places where time seems to pause—where light glides across chrome and glass as if the air itself remembers. Inside one of Daytona’s most extraordinary private car collections, that sense of reverence is immediate.
More than 40 pristine automobiles, each one restored and maintained to perfection, fill a network of renovated warehouses owned by Charlie Lydecker, founder and CEO of Foundation Risk Partners. The collection’s exact location remains undisclosed, adding to its mystique, but its scale and quality are unlike anything else in the region.
Lydecker’s passion for cars runs deeper than admiration. His spaces feel part museum, part memory—a celebration of craftsmanship and history. Upstairs, a lounge overlooks the gallery floor, complete with a golf simulator, bourbon bar, and walls lined with vintage racing posters and neon signage. It’s a retreat built for reflection and camaraderie, a space where business leaders, colleagues, and friends gather for quiet evenings or small philanthropic events.
Below, the gallery hums with restrained energy. Rows of Mustangs, Corvettes, Porsches, and many other fine
automobiles gleam under soft light, each one immaculate. Some are valued in the hundreds of thousands, yet others hold their worth in sentiment alone. The 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet Engine is one of Lydecker’s favorites. “It’s a fast car and it’s a driver.”
“They all have a story,” Lydecker says. Each car, he explains, came into his possession in its own way whether through restoration or discovery; each representing years of dedication and detail.
The restorations themselves can span years. Certain paint colors are nearly impossible to source, and specific components often take months of searching across the country to find. Lydecker and his full-time mechanic, Les, take on these challenges
Inside the Collection:
An Exclusive Snapshot
• 1941 Lincoln — The last model designed purely for beauty before World War II shifted automakers toward wartime production. One of only 1000 made.
• Original Blue Mustang — The one that began it all. Lydecker’s first Mustang remains the emotional cornerstone of his lifelong passion.
• 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet— The powerhouse. Its unmistakable rumble reverberates through the entire space.
• 1969 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car — A rare, documented original with deep ties to racing heritage and nostalgia.
• 1972 Cutlass Convertible — Recently sold, this white-and-red classic embodied relaxed luxury and open-air style.
• Austin-Healey “Woody” — A charming standout tucked away, a symbol of artistry and camaraderie in the collection.
Charlie Lydecker's secret car collection is one of the best in the country
Charlie Lydecker doesn't just collect these cars, he drives them
A collection fueled by passion and precision
Years in the making, every restoration is both memory and masterpiece
with the precision of artisans. Surfaces are stripped, repainted, and rebuilt until the car matches its original factory condition—down to the stitching of the seats and the shine of the emblems.
“The interior matters just as much as what’s under the hood,” Lydecker notes. To him, a car’s cabin is its art form where design becomes personal. “I’m more of a curb appeal guy.” The feel of the leather, the curve of the dashboard, the sound of the engine rumbling; all of it speaks to the driver in a way horsepower alone cannot.
“They’re meant to be driven,” Lydecker says. “They’re all gassed up, insured, and ready to go.”
Among the standouts are a documented 1969 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car, an immaculate Porsche valued at over $600,000, and a series of perfectly restored Mustangs. The collection began modestly as one empty warehouse and evolved organically. “I bought the first warehouse and it was empty,” Lydecker recalls. It began with a gas pump from a friend and a suggestion from another to build a bourbon bar, resulting in the birth of this one-ofa-kind collection.
Precision meets poetry behind the wheel
The result is less a warehouse than a living gallery; a reflection of automotive ingenuity, craftsmanship, and nostalgia.
Lydecker occasionally opens the doors for private fundraisers supporting organizations such as the NASCAR Foundation, or for small gatherings among close friends and colleagues. The events carry an atmosphere of exclusivity and generosity, aligning with his belief that success should be shared through experience, not display.
His two daughters and son already have favorite cars within the collection, though Lydecker jokes that they will likely fight over the very special blue Mustang. For now, the collection remains his passion project—a constantly evolving blend of restoration, artistry, and engineering.
Somewhere within our local industrial landscape, behind unmarked doors, this unseen world of beauty and horsepower rests quietly. For those fortunate enough to step inside, it’s more than a display of rare machines; it’s a living reminder that the art of collecting is really the art of remembering.
And for some this holiday season, the perfect holiday gift may not be wrapped beneath a tree, but waiting in a private garage—gleaming beneath soft lights, ready to come alive again.
A warehouse where nostalgia still runs loud.

THE BLOSSOM PERFECTION
Building Great Smiles from the Inside Out
Innovation is transforming nearly every aspect of our lives, but no where is it more evident than when AI and other technological advances can literally change the way we look…in real life.
We sat down with Dr. Huda to find out the latest and greatest treatment options while also looking to find out what makes this highly driven professional tick.
With a DDS and a master’s degree, Dr. Huda started out like many in the medical field with staff positions at several corporate firms. The entrepreneurial spirit and drive for success instilled by growing up in her busy and hard-working family led her to save up enough to create her own legacy firm. Blossom Dental & Facial Aesthetics represents the culmination of her dedication,
creativity, and hard work. Her aesthetic drive even resulted in her spearheading the office design to enhance a natural ambiance and create “judgement-free” zones.
“My passion for embracing innovation and a lifelong dedication to learning led me to believe in a holistic approach of harnessing the power of our own bodies. The results have led me to create my
own unique techniques which often use platelet, fibrin, and blood draws to extract growth factors that enhance our work. These techniques can be used in dentistry, oral surgeries, healing, and facial aesthetics which led me to combine dentistry and facial aesthetics,” according to Dr. Huda who is also actively engaged in developing clinical trials and producing peer-reviewed medical articles.
Dr. Huda has developed a unique suite of technologies in her Ormond Beach practice called “The Blossom Perfection.” The product line combines energy-based devices which Dr. Huda likes because they are extremely conservative and safe ways to stimulate the body to produce collagen and elastin – exactly what you need to look younger and rejuvenated. I enter orally, restore, recede, gum, line, and add quality to make it look perfect. The same approaches are used in both her dental and facial aesthetics work using slightly different devices and techniques.
The newest addition to The Blossom Perfection suite is XERF, the most robust and industry revolutionizing technology that targets structural skin tightening. Originating in Korea, XERF has been widely used in Korea and Japan. The FDA cleared XERF for use in the United States earlier this year and Dr. Huda immediately secured the device for her practice. Unlike other treatments that require needles or anesthesia, XERF offers immediate and lasting results with no downtime, numbing, nor discomfort. Within four weeks patients see the collagen results that lift and tighten.
While XERF focuses on lifting and tightening, other devices in the suite address pores, blemishes, and wrinkles. Dr. Huda’s tailored treatment plan may also include:
• The Ultra Laser, a non-ablative lithium laser that works on the epidermis to remove dead or traumatized skin and stimulate the body to replace it with younger, healthier, and more intact skin. The Ultra Laser works on every skin type, can lighten and brighten, and even treat some precancerous skin conditions.
• Potenza is a very powerful treatment infusing platelet-rich fibrin delivered via microneedling and radiofrequency. Potenza works on pores, blemishes, and old scars.
• The Mosaic Laser is a 3D controlled chaos laser for wrinkle reduction, resurfacing, collagen, and elastin production. It replaces the old painful ablative techniques by targeting areas using deep energy. Rapid advances in laser technology and the ability of Dr. Huda to curate and acquire the latest devices make the days of extensive peeling, pain, and downtime a thing of the past. Dr. Huda reports that patients experience a rosy sun-kissed look for up to 48 hours while the Mosaic produces some extra hydration and puffiness for up to 48 hours.
Blossom Dental & Facial Aesthetics offers open houses where device reps provide clinical assistance while Dr. Huda presents patients with a facial scan that objectively analyzes and shows before and after visuals. Open houses will resume after the holidays and are free of charge. Reservations are highly recommended.
“I CAN BUILD A GREAT SMILE, BUT THE LIPS AND SKIN THAT SURROUND IT NEED TO BE CAREFULLY AND CLINICALLY ANALYZED WITH GOOD JUDGMENT.”

Celebrating style, laughter and the simple joy of shopping local this holiday season
At Joyologie, joy is more than a name—it’s the atmosphere. Owner Joy Rabeaux has created a space that mixes easy, coastal style with humor and heart. “I like to have things that make people laugh,” she says. “It’s not supposed to be perfect. It’s supposed to be fun.”
This Fountain Square favorite is the most whimsical of Joy’s three boutiques, where clever coasters and playful gifts mingle with pretty jewelry and soft, sparkly sweaters. Popular finds include Spongellé soaps, Lampe Berger fragrances, and bracelets beaded in Morse code that spell out words like “Mom” or “Grandma.” “I try to pick things that mean something to me,” Joy says. “Maybe they’ll mean something to someone else too.”
After a busy November and another successful Small Business Saturday, December brings a fresh wave of shoppers looking for thoughtful gifts and lighthearted finds. The store’s “buy three, get one free” Lampe Berger promotion and rotating holiday specials make it easy to check off everyone on your list—while having fun doing it.

Stress Free Future Planning
The reward for years ofwork—
Local retirement planner helps people prepare
For most of us, planning for retirement can feel like trying to solve a puzzle with moving pieces—taxes, healthcare, income, and market swings all shifting at once. Local financial advisor Dan Morris has spent decades helping Volusia and Flagler County residents find clarity in that maze. His goal is simple: “Everyone should know what their income will be in retirement. Most people don’t, and that’s where stress comes from.”
At his firm, Tax-Free Wealth Advisors, Morris specializes in what he calls tax-smart income planning—the art of creating predictable cash flow without depleting savings. It’s a process that blends strategy with empathy. “I’m not here to sell products,” he explains. “I’m here to show people what they already have, where the gaps are, and how to fill them before it’s too late.”
"Everyone should know what their income will be in retirement. Most people don’t—and that’s where stress comes from.”
A clear picture of tomorrow
Morris often begins with a complimentary “IRMA report,” named for the Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount that can surprise retirees when Medicare premiums rise due to higher income. “Most people don’t realize their Medicare costs are tied to their tax bracket,” he says. “You can have more money than you think and still lose thousands a year just because you’re in the wrong bracket.”
By analyzing each client’s mix of Social Security, pensions, investments, and real estate income, Morris helps them forecast what they’ll actually keep after taxes. That clarity alone, he notes, is often life-changing. “Once you know your numbers, you can plan your life around them—travel, help your kids, or simply sleep better.”
Balancing growth and security
While some advisors focus heavily on growth, Morris takes a more balanced view. He encourages clients to protect principal while still generating income. That can mean blending dividend-paying stocks, high-quality bonds, and even ETFs that use covered-call strategies for enhanced yield. He also explores annuities for guaranteed income and Business Development Companies (BDCs) that can offer higher dividends, though with some risk.
His approach, he says, is always tailored to lifestyle and comfort level. “It’s not about chasing the next hot stock,” he adds. “It’s about creating a plan you can live with—one that pays your bills and lets you enjoy your life.”
Health, home, and hidden costs
Beyond investments, Morris spends time helping clients anticipate what he calls the “quiet threats” to retirement—rising healthcare costs and unexpected long-term-care needs. He guides clients through Medicare decisions and often integrates life-insurance policies with living benefits or high-cash-value coverage that can be tapped tax-free in an emergency. “I like policies that work like your own private bank,” he explains. “You can borrow from them when needed, and they’re still protected.”
Real estate also plays a role in many of his plans, though he cautions clients to think ahead before selling investment properties. “The capital gains from a sale can push you into a higher bracket and drive up your Medicare costs,” he notes. “Even decisions that look simple—like selling a rental— can have ripple effects.”
The peace that comes from knowing you planned well.
Starting early, staying steady
For readers still in their working years, Morris offers straightforward advice: start early, diversify, and pay attention to taxes now rather than later. Converting portions of traditional 401(k) or IRA funds into a Roth IRA, or pairing them with an annuity, can provide future flexibility. “You can’t control the government,” he says with a smile, “but you can control how much of your retirement the government gets.”
He encourages clients to think of retirement as a long runway, not a finish line. “If you’re 50, you still have 15 years to make great choices,” he says. “The key is to act before those choices disappear.”
Planning with peace of mind
At its core, Morris’s message is one of reassurance. Retirement, he says, doesn’t have to be complicated—it just has to be intentional. “Once people see the plan, the stress melts away,” he says. “They realize it’s not too late. They can live comfortably, take care of their family, and still have money left for the fun stuff.”
For Dan Morris, that peace of mind is the real measure of success. “A good plan,” he adds, “means you can finally stop worrying about money and start enjoying the life you worked for.”

EMBRACE THE SEASON WITH THESE HOLIDAY PARTY TIPS AND TRICKS.
Good Holiday PARTY VIBES
ARTICLE BY SYDNEY KATE LEWIS
Just like that, it’s officially the most wonderful time of the year. And while you may still be stuffed from all the turkey, it’s time to start planning the ultimate holiday party. I’ve included some tips and tricks to make sure it is the absolute best time for your guests.
01
SETTING THE ATMOSPHERE IS CRUCIAL.
The mood is subjective to the type of party you’re having, though. This could include a tree in the corner, an advent wreath on the table, a menorah on the counter, or other decor aligning with your celebration. Either way, I personally recommend lighting a fire in the fireplace or playing a looping video of one on your television to create a festive and cozy ambiance.
02
HOLIDAY GAMES ACT AS ENGAGING ENTERTAINMENT.
I once played a game where little trinkets from the Dollar Tree were wrapped in a massive ball of plastic wrap, and guests had 30 seconds to unwrap as much as possible before passing it to the next guest, claiming the unwrapped trinkets as their prize. It definitely gets the adrenaline up and provokes quite a few laughs at the random items wrapped inside.
03
Whether a simple apple dip (8 oz cream cheese, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup toffee bits served with apple slices) or a festive drink, such as a cranberry Moscow Mule (2 oz vodka, 1 oz cranberry juice, 1/2 oz fresh lime juice, ginger beer, and fresh cranberries with a sprig of rosemary for garnish), serving holiday-themed food and drinks amplifies the atmosphere.
THE PLAYLIST IS, IN MY OPINION, THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ANY HOLIDAY PARTY.
04 FOOD AND DRINKS PLAY A MASSIVE ROLE IN THE HOLIDAY PARTY SCENE.
While everyone is mingling, it is crucial to have some festive background noise. And, while the classics are well, classic, here are my go-to, more modern song choices for some great holiday fun!
• “Christmas Isn’t Cancelled (Just You)” - by Kelly Clarkson
• “Drummer Boy” - by Justin Bieber
• “Fancy Like Christmas” - by Walker Hayes
• “Hot Chocolate” - by Tom Hanks (From the Polar Express soundtrack)
• “It’s Not Christmas Till Somebody Cries” - by Carly Rae Jepsen
• “Naughty List” - Liam Payne featuring Dixie
• “Redneck 12 Days of Christmas” - by Jeff Foxworthy
• “Stretchy Pants” - by Carrie Underwood
• “Text Me Merry Christmas” - by Straight No Chaser featuring Kristen Bell
• “The Chanukah Song” - by Adam Sandler
Now go create your own, special playlist, pour yourself a mug of eggnog, and dance the night away!
