From Cypress Skits to Silver Screens
At just 10 years old, Cypress resident Isaac McKee is already living the dream that most aspiring actors spend a lifetime chasing. He's the voice of Linus in the beloved Peanuts franchise, he's appeared on red carpets alongside A-list celebrities, and his face has been on movie screens in over 4,100 theaters worldwide. But the journey to Hollywood success started right here at home—with a YouTube channel, a green screen, and three brothers who just wanted to have fun. "Isaac first discovered his passion for acting when he was 4 years old," recalls his father,

Ryan McKee. "He and his brothers wanted to create a YouTube show where they could do skits, play games, do science experiments, and visit cool places like museums and aquariums."
What started as family fun became intensive training. The McKee family bought equipment, learned video editing, and reached out to local Houston venues. The kids learned to interview people and speak confidently on camera. "It was during this time that Isaac fell in love with movie-making magic and performing," Ryan says. "When he was 7, Isaac began to ask mom and dad if he could start acting 'for real.'"
The family found a photo of Isaac for his first headshot and started submitting him for local TV commercials. He quickly began booking roles for businesses like Exclusive Furniture, iFly, Mercedes Benz of Sugarland, and a Texas-based law firm. Soon after, he landed lead roles in national commercials for InsureKidsNow.gov, a program administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the On the Border restaurant chain. As Isaac's roles grew, the family enrolled him in an intensive eight-month program at Page Parkes School of Modeling and Acting in Houston.
To prepare for Agent Review, an exclusive showcase for top talent agents, Isaac went door to door in his Cypress neighborhood, performing his monologue on front porches for families and asking for feedback. His dedication paid off. "During Agent Review Isaac received offers to sign with top talent agencies in nearly every major U.S. market," Ryan says.
Isaac's biggest role is voicing Linus van Pelt in the Peanuts franchise. "When we found out that Isaac had been cast as Linus, we were sitting at one of his theater performances at Stageworks in Houston," Ryan remembers. "It was so hard to wait until after the play to tell him the exciting news."
ARTICLE BY STEPHANIE PARNELL

After auditioning for both Linus and Charlie Brown, Isaac was chosen for Linus, the philosophical best friend who's never without his security blanket. He recorded over 100 lines for the video game Snoopy and the Great Mystery Club and voiced Linus for the 2025 American Greetings Peanuts Advent Calendar, which was wildly popular this past Christmas.
Nothing could have prepared the McKee family for the whirlwind success of Iron Lung, a sci-fi horror film in which Isaac plays a supporting role. The independent film, written and directed by Mark Fischbach (better known as Markiplier, one of YouTube's biggest stars), was originally slated for a limited release in just 60 theaters. Due to overwhelming demand, it expanded to over 4,100 theaters worldwide. On opening day, Iron Lung was the number one movie in America. "When we found out the film had expanded to a worldwide release,
Isaac with Kym Whitley
Isaac was thrilled," Ryan says. "This would be the first time his face would appear on movie screens all over the world."
The response on social media was overwhelming. "The first week the movie was out, Isaac's Instagram page was inundated with hundreds of new followers and one post receiving nearly half a million views and 50,000 likes," Ryan says. "Isaac said he feels really blessed that fans have been so welcoming and kind."
Isaac was invited to attend the 56th NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles as a guest of director Princella Smith for the Oscarqualified animated short film Walk in the Light. "Seeing Isaac step onto the red carpet for the first time and pose for cameras was surreal," Ryan says. "He introduced himself to reporters and talked about the film as if he had done it a million times."
At the nominees' dinner, Isaac sought out celebrities including Marlon Wayans, Aldis Hodge, Kym Whitley, and Yvette Nicole Brown. "They were all wonderful and spent lots of time visiting with Isaac, signing his autograph book and giving him career advice," Ryan says.
Isaac's biggest pinch-me moment came when he sat on a panel between Gil Birmingham from Yellowstone and Kym Whitley. "To see Gil, an absolute legend, hand the microphone to Isaac was surreal," Ryan says. "After Isaac brought down the house with his answer, Gil joked he would just let Isaac speak for him from now on."
Despite the glamour, Isaac remains grounded in his Cypress community. He attends school full-time and is heavily involved in community theater at Stageworks in Houston. Beth Tamez, his agent at Page Parkes Texas, describes Isaac as "a passionate and driven actor whose natural talent and genuine character shine both on screen and in his everyday life. His dedication and enthusiasm reflect a bright future and a meaningful connection to the community that supports him."
Managing a burgeoning acting career while being a typical 10-year-old requires careful balance. "Isaac has gotten very good at managing his time," Ryan explains. "If he knows he has auditions over a weekend, he plans so he can still have time to have a friend over or play video games."
There are sacrifices. Last year, Isaac was shooting a commercial on Halloween and missed trick-or-treating with friends. But the Cypress community came through. "A few days later his

friends dressed up again and invited Isaac to go trick or treating," Ryan says. "Neighbors even saved candy so Isaac could still have that experience."
Isaac continues to pursue guest star and recurring roles in TV and film, with the ultimate goal of landing a starring role in a feature film. He's appeared in Nickelodeon's Wonder Pets in the City on Apple TV+ and has booked lead roles in national commercials for brands like Academy Sports and Outdoors. He now has agents in each major U.S. talent market and a manager in Los Angeles.
From a 4-year-old with a green screen in his Cypress home to a 10-year-old working alongside Hollywood legends, Isaac McKee's story is a testament to talent, hard work, and family support. As Ryan puts it: "Isaac is just as excited and determined today as he was 2 years ago." For this Cypress kid, the sky—or perhaps the silver screen—is the limit.

THE Eye-Opening TRUTH
Your “Dry Eyes” Might Be Something More
In an era of endless screen time and high-performance lifestyles, we often dismiss grit, redness, or blurred vision as "just part of life." But according to leading specialists, those nagging symptoms are often the first signs of a complex inflammatory condition: Dry Eye Disease (DED).
We sat down with Dr. Celesta Ferreira of Cypress Optique to discuss why artificial tears are just a Band-Aid, why your gut health matters to your vision, and why the best time to treat your eyes is long before they start to hurt.
CYPRESS LIFESTYLE: LET’S START WITH THE BASICS, DR. C. IS DRY EYE DISEASE JUST A FANCY WAY OF SAYING YOUR EYES FEEL DRY?
Dr. Ferreira: Not at all. It’s actually a chronic inflammatory condition that affects the surface of the eye and the quality of your tear film. It is not simply “having dry eyes”; it is a breakdown in the system that keeps your vision clear, comfortable, and protected. Think of your tears as a complex blend of oil, water, and protective proteins. When the oil glands along the eyelids (the meibomian glands) become blocked or unhealthy, tears evaporate too quickly. The result is instability, inflammation, and fluctuating vision.
CL: WHAT ARE THE RED FLAGS OUR READERS SHOULD LOOK FOR?
Dr. C: It’s more than just a "sandy" feeling. Common symptoms include:
• Burning or redness
• Light sensitivity
• Blurred or inconsistent vision
• Excessive tearing (which is often the eye's overcompensation for poor tear quality)
• Contact lens intolerance
• That "heavy," tired feeling at the end of the day. What many people do not realize is that you can lose significant gland structure before symptoms become severe. By the time discomfort becomes constant, damage may already be advanced.
CL: WHAT IS ACTUALLY CAUSING THIS? IS IT JUST OUR SMARTPHONES?
Dr. C: Dry eye is rarely caused by just one factor; it’s typically a reflection of cumulative stress on the body. While prolonged screen exposure is a major contributor, we also look at chronic inflammation, hormonal shifts, environmental conditions like air conditioning, and even facial conditions like rosacea.
Lifestyle also plays a critical role. Nutrition, vitamin deficiencies, gut health, sleep quality, and stress levels all influence systemic inflammation. The eyes are often one of the first places that inflammation manifests.
CL: HOW DO YOU MOVE BEYOND GUESSWORK TO A REAL DIAGNOSIS AT CYPRESS OPTIQUE?
Dr. C: Diagnosis should never be based on guesswork. At our clinic, we use advanced imaging and diagnostic testing to evaluate gland structure, tear stability, and inflammatory markers. Patients can actually see their oil glands on screen—which is often a pivotal moment. When you understand what is happening structurally, the conversation shifts from temporary relief to targeted restoration. We assess gland architecture and tear film integrity to create a customized strategy rather than offering generalized solutions.

CL: IF SOMEONE IS TIRED OF CARRYING EYE DROPS EVERYWHERE, WHAT ARE THE MODERN TREATMENT OPTIONS?
Dr. C: If you are reaching for artificial tears throughout the day, you are managing symptoms—not solving the problem.
Modern dry eye care focuses on restoring gland function. After a comprehensive evaluation, we develop a personalized plan that may include advanced in-office therapies designed to gently warm and rehabilitate blocked oil glands. We use light-based and energy-based technologies to calm inflammation, improve gland performance, and help thickened oils flow more effectively. Targeted gland expression removes obstructions that drops simply cannot reach.
CL: WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WANT OUR READERS TO KNOW ABOUT THEIR EYE HEALTH?
Dr. C: I want readers to understand that discomfort is not something you simply have to tolerate. Redness, fluctuating vision, or constantly carrying eye drops are not "normal"—even if they are common.
We live in a community that invests in wellness, longevity, and performance. We prioritize skin health and fitness; your ocular surface deserves that same level of attention. The earlier we intervene, the more we can preserve. Once oil glands are permanently lost, they do not regenerate.
Your eyes are working for you every moment of the day—taking care of them should be intentional, not reactive. Dry eye is treatable. And when addressed with precision and expertise, it can be transformative.

The Texans’ New Turf
The Toro District is a Total Game-Changer for the Cypress Community
ARTICLE BY LAURA SANCHEZQUAN
RENDERINGS COURTESY OF HOUSTON TEXANS

The Houston Texans unveiled plans for the Toro District that will serve as the franchise's new headquarters and training complex off of Peek Rd to the west of the Grand Parkway. The team is expected to relocate here in 2029. While 22 acres are reserved specifically for the team’s global operations and training facilities, the remaining 61 acres will be integrated into Bridgeland Central and will feature a variety of amenities, including retail shops, restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, commercial office space, and medical facilities.
NEW HOUSTON TEXANS HEADQUARTERS
Clocking in at over 175,000 square feet, the state-ofthe-art HQ brings the team’s entire world—from the front office to the huddle—under one roof. With an indoor fieldhouse and three pristine outdoor fields, the squad is set for elite training no matter the weather. But it’s not just for the pros; the fieldhouse can host 16,000 people, making it the new go-to spot for everything from high school graduations to major NFL events.
PAVING THE WAY FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
The new home base isn't just about the pros—it’s a massive win for the whole community. The complex paves the way for youth programs and community vibes, but the real MVP move is the partnership with local schools.
Students from Cy-Fair ISD, Waller ISD, and Lone Star College are getting a front-row seat to the action with hands-on internships, career pathways, and sports-focused academic initiatives designed to give them a running start and real-world experience.
The Toro District will also feature multiple flag football fields adjacent to the team’s headquarters, along with the capacity for up to 21 volleyball courts on-site, further advancing the Texans’ commitment to expanding access to sport and creating opportunities for athletes of all ages.
COMMITMENT TO GROWTH AND OPPORTUNITY
“Toro District will be a world-class environment for everyone connected to our organization,” said Cal McNair, Chair and CEO of the Texans. “It also underscores our longterm commitment to Harris County and our dedication to driving growth and opportunity throughout the region. This is a historic win for our team and our community.”
WHAT TO EXPECT
In addition to the Texans’ headquarters, the project introduces nearly two million square feet of walkable office, healthcare, hospitality and entertainment space including:
• One million square feet of premium office space
• 300,000 sq. ft. of retail and restaurants
• 250,000 sq. ft. of regional healthcare and sports medicine
• Two hotels totaling 300 rooms
• 1,300 units of multifamily residential homes
• 6 parks
• 5,000 parking spaces

“This is growth by design, and it will shape this community for generations.”
“The Texans are planting a lasting flag in Bridgeland, reinforcing their commitment to this region,” said David O’Reilly, Chief Executive Officer of Howard Hughes. “Together, we are creating opportunities that strengthen infrastructure, expand access to services, and deliver lasting benefits for the families and businesses who call Northwest Houston home. This is growth by design, and it will shape this community for generations.”
PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP PROVIDING RESOURCES FOR THE FAST-GROWING POPULATION
A 25,000-square-foot Harris County annex is also part of the planned development, extending county services to the Northwest Houston region and providing resources to the fast-growing population. Six parks are part of the plan, along with 5,000 parking spaces to accommodate activity in the district.
"The Toro District is a transformational win for Harris County — a bold vision delivered through action,” said Commissioner Lesley Briones, Harris County Precinct 4. “This public-private partnership is bringing 17,000 new jobs, $34 billion in economic impact, and essential County services and infrastructure to one of the fastest-growing areas in the nation.”
“By bringing Harris County in as a partner, we made sure this development would work for the residents,” said Commissioner Tom Ramsey, Harris County Precinct 3. “For us, that means expanding access to services with a county annex outside of the 610 loop, jumpstarting critical roadway extensions like Mason Road and Peek Road, hike and bike trails, park developments—all this culminating into my favorite thing as a licensed professional engineer—planning for growth the right way from day one."

inform every design detail. Pools are designed to be extensions of the surrounding garden and home, with careful consideration given to scale, materials that withstand the local climate, and features like water elements and durable decking. In addition to pools, Mirror Lake Designs crafts outdoor kitchens, shaded structures such as pergolas and gazebos, as well as distinctive water features that make a backyard both functional and beautiful.
With decades of experience and a collaborative design process, the company offers turnkey solutions. From early conceptual planning and renderings to installation and finishing touches, ensuring that each project reflects the homeowner’s vision and lifestyle.
Successful backyard spaces extend beyond the pool itself. These elements transform a pool area into a true extension of the home that supports entertaining, relaxation, and everyday use.
Homeowners approach pool design with a wide range of goals. Some are working within smaller footprints and envision an intimate, courtyard-style retreat. Redefining MVP: TIM TEBOW’S LIFE BEYOND FOOTBALL
An exclusive Q&A with City Lifestyle

ARTICLE BY ANGELA BROOCKERD
PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED
From championship trophies to global humanitarian impact, Tim Tebow’s journey has defied every standard playbook. In an exclusive conversation for the Share the Lifestyle podcast, Tebow pulls back the curtain on the moments that truly defined him, from a humbling middle school church retreat to the life-altering shift of fatherhood. This isn’t just a look back at a career; it’s an invitation into the heart of a man driven by purpose. Read the highlights below, then join us for the full, unfiltered experience by scanning the QR code at the end.

Q: WE ALL KNOW YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD, BUT TELL US ABOUT THE CURL CONTEST.
A: I was competing for my future high school team (my brother’s team), and I pushed myself way past what was smart. I ended up collapsing and needing medical attention. But what stayed with me wasn’t the pain, it was the lesson. Would I be willing to do something that others aren’t? For much of my life, I strived to bring my best for a game, but I hope that I can say at the end of my life I was willing to do that for things that actually matter.
Q: YOU’VE ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN SPORTS. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT NOW?
A: Becoming a dad. Nothing compares. From the moment I knew my wife was pregnant, I felt a new depth of love for our child, but when you bring your baby home, the responsibility hits you like nothing else. Suddenly, everything you see, every decision you make, you’re asking, “Is this corner too sharp? What happens if she reaches that drawer?” It changes how you see the world and how you see other people.
Q: YOU’VE SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT DISAPPOINTMENT, ESPECIALLY AROUND FOOTBALL. HOW DID THAT SEASON OF LIFE SHAPE YOU?
A: I talked a lot about that very thing in my book Shaken . We all go through moments where our faith in our abilities and purpose feels rattled, but I believe it’s often in those storms when God can show us who we could become.
Q: YOU TALK A LOT ABOUT COMPARISON CULTURE. WHY DO YOU BELIEVE COMPARISON HAS BECOME SUCH A TRAP TODAY?
A: Because we’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel. Social media shows people’s “best day,” often filtered and staged, and then we measure our reality against that. There’s a reason filters are so popular—it’s not real. We end up scrolling through images that don’t tell the full story, and without realizing it, comparison starts to steal our joy and our gratitude.
“We’re comparing our real, everyday lives to someone else’s highlight reel... comparison starts to steal our joy.”
Q: YOUR FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON THE “MOST VULNERABLE.” WHERE DID THAT CALLING BEGIN?
A: When I was 15, I met a boy in the Philippines who was treated as a throwaway because he was born with physical differences. That moment changed me. I realized God was calling me to pursue a different kind of MVP, not “Most Valuable Player,” but “Most Vulnerable People.”
Q: FINALLY, WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
A: I have some weird coffee habits, which include protein powder, collagen, and cream all mixed together. I love golf dates with my wife. And every night, I bring snacks to bed to share with our dogs. It brings me more joy than it probably should.
This conversation barely scratches the surface. Tim goes deeper into the moments that rattled him, the joys of fatherhood, and one story he has never shared publicly until now. Scan the QR code for the full, exclusive City Lifestyle interview on Share the Lifestyle Podcast.

Lymphatic massage, also known as manual lymphatic drainage, is a highly specialized therapeutic treatment designed to support the lymphatic system. A cornerstone of internal balance playing a critical role in detoxification, immune function, and maintaining proper fluid levels throughout the body. Unlike blood circulation, which is powered by the heart, the lymphatic system is passive, relying on muscle movement and external stimulation to function efficiently.
We asked Ashley Smith, owner of Aesthetic MD Cypress, about the critical role of lymphatic massage and how she recognized a growing need for specialized recovery protocols among her clients.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE GENTLE TOUCH
The gentle touch technique behind effective lymphatic massage is using precise, gentle, and rhythmic movements that follow the natural pathways of the lymphatic vessels. While not addressing muscle tension like traditional massage, it encourages the natural movement of lymph fluid, helping clear congestion, removing metabolic waste, and decreasing excess fluid retention. Because the delicate lymph vessels sit just beneath the skin, the light pressure is comfortable as well as essential for effectiveness. Lymphatic massage helps restore optimal flow, allowing healing, recovery, and balance from the inside out.

IMMEDIATE AND VISIBLE RESULTS
The benefits of a lymphatic massage are often seen and felt immediately after a session, with a visible reduction in puffiness and swelling, resulting in a more sculpted and contoured appearance, particularly in the face and abdomen. For those suffering from digestive discomfort, there is often a relief from bloating and fluid retention. Beyond the physical changes, the gentle nature of the treatment is very relaxing, offering a deep nervous system reset.
"At Aesthetic MD Cypress, we see a distinct difference in the recovery trajectory of our clients," says Smith. "Many clients notice they feel 'lighter' and more like themselves immediately after a single session."
CULTIVATING LONG-TERM
WELLNESS AND RECOVERY
While the immediate aesthetic benefits are compelling, the long-term, cumulative effects are what make lymphatic massage a foundational practice for wellness. Over time it supports sustained reduction in overall inflammation and improvement in fluid balance and immune support. An invaluable tool for accelerated healing and reduced downtime after aesthetic procedures or surgery, lymphatic massage helps to minimize swelling and promote refined results.
CANDIDATES FOR THIS TREATMENT
Lymphatic massage is ideal for individuals seeking therapeutic recovery and refined aesthetic outcomes. This includes recovering from cosmetic or reconstructive surgery, and as a critical component of post-operative care, helping reduce the risk of fibrosis and scarring.
“I saw my post-op clients struggling with that heavy, sluggish feeling caused by unavoidable tissue trauma and inflammation.” Smith shares. “That’s why we integrated specialized lymphatic massage into our services. Manually encouraging the movement of trapped fluid, helps the body clear excess inflammation and significantly speed up the reduction in swelling. It’s about more than just aesthetics; it improves our clients' comfort and mobility, often leaving them feeling more like themselves immediately after a session."
Beyond surgical recovery, those experiencing chronic fluid retention, inflammation, or bloating, as well as uses in preventative care, detoxification, and overall well-being, are excellent candidates. Also highly beneficial after body contouring treatments, such as fat reduction or skin tightening procedures.

STORM SEASON IS COMING. IS YOUR ROOF READY?
TELGE ROOFING DELIVERS FREE PROACTIVE INSPECTIONS, EXPERT INSURANCE ADVOCACY AND GOLD-STANDARD CRAFTSMANSHIP—SO YOUR ROOF IS PREPARED LONG BEFORE THE FIRST WARNING HITS
ARTICLE BY CL STAFF PHOTOGRAPHY BY ERIC LEONARD
When it comes to protecting your home, few things matter more than a reliable roof. That’s why so many Cypress-area homeowners turn to Telge Roofing, a full-service roofing company proudly based in the community it serves. Family owned and operated since 2009, Telge Roofing has built a reputation for integrity, expertise, and results in an industry where many companies don’t last five years. Now with 17 years of experience, the company continues to raise the bar for residential and commercial roofing.

Roy Campbell

Telge Roofing specializes in both residential and commercial roof replacements, including shingle and metal systems. While most homeowners only replace one or two roofs in their lifetime, the Telge team averages five roof replacements every day. That level of hands-on experience translates into efficiency, accuracy, and peace of mind for customers.
Quality and credibility are central to the company’s success. Telge Roofing holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and the prestigious GAF Master Elite® certification. Even more impressive, the company is one of only a select few nationwide to earn the GAF President’s Club 3-Star Gold distinction—an honor achieved by just a fraction of roofing contractors across the country. With more than 600 five-star Google reviews, the community’s trust is clear.
Owner Roy Campbell and his project managers take pride in serving as strong advocates for homeowners navigating the insurance process. “Most people don’t realize how complicated roof claims can be,” Campbell explains. If a homeowner calls their insurance company first, an adjuster may inspect the roof and determine there’s no issue. Without professional support, it can be difficult for homeowners to challenge that assessment.
That’s where Telge Roofing makes a difference. When needed, a Telge professional meets the insurance adjuster on the roof, ensuring the homeowner is properly represented and that all legitimate damage is documented. The company works with all
insurance carriers and focuses on helping customers receive the maximum benefit while minimizing out-of-pocket costs.
Timing is critical. Insurance companies often begin depreciating roof coverage once a roof reaches 15 years of age. In the harsh Texas climate—where intense heat can accelerate wear—many construction-grade roofs may begin to fail within 8 to 14 years. Waiting until there is an obvious leak or visible storm damage can significantly reduce a homeowner’s coverage and options.
To help homeowners stay ahead of problems, Telge Roofing offers free roof inspections and insurance claim assistance. Their team provides honest assessments so homeowners can make informed decisions before small issues become costly emergencies.
Adding further peace of mind, Telge Roofing backs its work with a five-year no-leak workmanship warranty. While many manufacturer warranties extend up to 50 years, the Telge team takes full responsibility for the most critical early period. If any issue arises within the first five years, homeowners simply call Roy and his team will make it right.
As storm season and another Texas summer approach, Telge Roofing encourages homeowners to be proactive rather than wait for visible damage. A simple inspection today can prevent costly surprises tomorrow. As the team puts it, “Telge Roofing can give homeowners peace of mind knowing that their roof is ready for storm season and summer. Don’t hope that your roof is ready—know that your roof is ready!”

We had an excellent experience with Telge Roofing, and especially with Roy. From start to finish, the entire process was seamless-aside from having to battle with our insurance company-but Roy was there every step of the way, offering guidance and support until everything was resolved.
In the end, we got a beautiful new roof, solar attic vents, and upgraded 6” gutters. Roy suggested changing the gutter color, and wow-what a difference that subtle change made in the overall appearance of our home!
His crew was extremely professional, showed up exactly as scheduled, and did fantastic work. They even came back out the next day to do a final nail sweep, which we really appreciated. On top of that, Roy went above and beyond by pressure washing our driveway and pool area I truly can’t recommend Telge Roofing enough_ We would 100% use them again. We don’t expect any issues in the future, but if we ever do, I
