Friends and Neighbors,
Can you believe it’s already September?
While we welcome the cooler temps and changing seasons, we also embrace the beginning of all things Fall!
Fall means different things for different people. For me, it’s one of my favorite times of the year! I love to see the leaves beginning to change color, the crisp cooler air at the start of each day and spending more time exploring outside with my family in the “not-so-hot heat wave.” What I also love is watching our local clothing, home and décor shops transforming into pumpkin-spice-smelling Fall explosions with all the orange, red, yellow and brown flair.
In the spirit of panache, we have prepared a Style issue to not only keep you in the loop on the latest trends but to give you an opportunity to explore your local area and create your own palette!
Our team had so much fun creating this month’s plethora of choices to embrace your own style story and venture out to be stirred by the unique artistic style all around our beautiful community.
We begin with a true-to-Texas elevated dining experience with a Dallas-inspired design right here in our backyard. Next, we venture to Old Town Lewisville to find the latest trends in dazzling layers around the neck, wrist and fingers. We look at the timeless character of vintage pieces at your local antique fishing holes. Our own contributing writer, Aimee Buckert puts on her boutique-owner-hat to share the current Fall fashion movement and what we can expect. As they say, your smile is worth a thousand words and our team had the pleasure of visiting with our favorite dynamic orthodontist team to discuss the power of staying up-todate with your community--smiles never go out of style! Finally, our team has put together a fantastic list of stylish and alluring backdrops for your smiles and family to capture Fall pictures.
As you update your wardrobe for the season and if you feel led to help those in need; our team has curated a list of local charities who would appreciate any clothes donations.
Wishing you a happy Fall season and hoping you enjoy this month’s Style issue! Many Blessings!

THE INTENTIONAL DESIGN OF 1845 TASTE TEXAS
ARTICLE BY MALLORY NEWELL PHOTOGRAPHY BY LOCAL BZZ
Designed like Dallas, tastes like Fort Worth
1845 Taste Texas began with such clear vision that the intentionality of its existence is apparent in every detail, from the lighting fixtures, to the proud eye of Sir Loin the longhorn on the wall, to the pork chop that is said to rival Perry’s. This intentionality is the most defining point of 1845 Taste Texas, says founder Marty Bryan, who co-owns the restaurant with partner Brian Gasperson.
The upscale dining experience that is 1845 was born when Marty and his wife walked into a newly remodeled Ritz Carlton in San Francisco. Marty was immediately inspired by the colors of navy, gold, black and white and sat down at the bar and sketched the 1845 brand logo onto a napkin knowing that someday it would come to life.
“We wanted to capture the essence of both Dallas and Fort Worth,” explains Marty. The food speaks Fort Worth. But the high-end design aspect of the restaurant’s location and atmosphere speaks Dallas. The restaurant as a whole, however, positively screams Texas with its locally sourced steaks and the crooning of all Texas born artists through the speakers. The use of the smoker, also, is an integral and unique part of their Texas inspired menu with its smoked prime rib, pork chop, pork belly, meatballs, wings, salmon, and artichokes. The afore-mentioned pork chop that is said to rival Perry’s is first smoked, then finished on the grill and finally topped with a spicy plum sauce.
Lakeside Village’s 1845 Taste Texas blends high-end dining with an authentic Texan feel, which means you no longer have to go all the way to Dallas for an upscale experience, or go to downtown Fort Worth for the taste of the Lone Star State on your tongue.

Letting Your Hair Down
“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your long hair!” I wonder if that truly was magical hair or did sweet Rapunzel with the full head of long hair know something about trending hair fashion? If I had to guess, I would say that she had an amazing stylist like Zoe Penzes that can add that same thickness and fullness, not with magic, but with amazing hair extensions.
When I was little I’d stand in front of the bathroom mirror with a towel wrapped around my head. I’d grab the hairbrush microphone and blast Cher on my record player and the transformation to my alter ego with long, luxurious hair was complete. But thanks to hair extensions, we can throw in the towel and have the long, full hair we have always wanted.
Hair extensions are made from real human hair in a variety of colors and styles. At the initial appointment, it can take up to 2 hours to connect the extensions to your own hair. This new hair can be styled
with all heating tools and will last several weeks. It can even be cut if you decide to go shorter again while keeping the fullness. It is an opportunity to have the hair you always wanted but don’t have the time to let grow on its own. Damaged hair can also be repaired while using extensions. Your hair dreams are an appointment away.
Maybe you have a class reunion coming up, a wedding to attend or you just want to make an investment in your self-confidence. Let the transformation begin. After an initial consultation, Zoe is ready to offer clients the best brands of hair, the perfect style, the most beautiful color and important maintenance information to keep your hair looking its best.
To visit with Zoe about extensions or other salon services, find her on Instagram @hairbyzoepen or meet her at zoepenzes. glossygenius.com. She works her magic at Rhi & Co. Salon in Highland Village. Look out, Cher! Here we come.

DESIGN MEETS FUNCTIONALITY
The Design House’s new showroom is unmatched in style and shoppability
“Our industry is a functional industry, but it’s also very design-driven,” says Jennifer Homeyer, owner of The Design House, alongside her husband Ty. “Our customers like to dream, touch and feel things that are possible in their own home and we [want] to give them that experience.” The shelves of shining marble and richly colored granite samples against the wall are just a small part of their newly renovated 10,000 sq ft showroom designed to highlight the joy, beauty and ease that home design can be.
The organization of the showroom is optimal for a user-friendly and shoppable experience that doesn’t overwhelm the customer. Brands such as Shaw, Mohawk and Daltile are sectioned into areas for perusing specific elements such as countertops, engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank flooring, carpets, hardware, stunning mosaics and window treatments.
But the largest and most stunning part of the showroom is dedicated to Porcelanosa, a Spanish company specializing in high-quality tiles,
mosaics, and bathroom and kitchen solutions. A few years ago, Jennifer and part of her team received the opportunity to travel to Spain with Porcelanosa to see their showroom and source of inspiration. “We fell in love with the people, the culture and the products,” Jennifer says. The fact that Porcelanosa offers everything from tile to plumbing fixtures “fell in line beautifully with what we do and what we want to offer here.” The beauty of Porcelanosa shines in the timeless look of their color-neutral and texture-oriented designs.
One of the qualities that makes The Design House so above average is its ability to work with any size or type of project. “Projects both large and small are important to us,” says Jennifer, whether you are looking for a simple carpet install, a complete remodel to elevate your home or professionals to take over a demo that you’ve started. The Design House is set up to serve builders, designers, homeowners and contractors and transform any space through anything from plumbing and countertops to accent wallpaper and brushed gold fixtures

DR. KIMBERLY GRONBERG ON STAYING PERSONAL AND UP-TO-DATE
ARTICLE BY MALLORY NEWELL | PHOTOGRAPHY BY PIXEL PERFECT ROSE
We always say that what we’re doing is more than just teeth.
Though times change, the smiles of Dr. Kimberly Gronberg, DDS and Dr. Charlene Sugay, DDS of Gronberg Orthodontics stay constant. With a smile in her voice Gronberg explains, “When I was in residency, a lot of the other orthodontists that taught us [would say], ‘Oh, you're not going to want to live in the same area where you practice.’ But really, it’s just the opposite.”
Going on 19 years of residing in Highland Village, Gronberg expresses her gratitude for living in the same town that she practices in, “I wouldn't trade it for anything. Especially when we've gone through tough times in life you realize how important community is to you. Life is short and what matters in the end is people.”
“We always say that what we're doing is more than just teeth. We want people to know that we're going to take care of their child or themselves as we would our own family.” Whether it's an emergency or
a quick call to the office, Gronberg’s and Sugay’s patients know that a team member will always respond. “That's not always the experience at every office, we all know what it feels like to call a call center somewhere,” Gronberg laughs. “Our team gets to know all the patients and families so well. I feel so lucky to have the team that we have,” Gronberg says. Many of their team members have been with the practice since its inception in 2008.
Dr. Gronberg and Dr. Sugay follow the American Association of Orthodontists’ recommendation of seeing patients as early as age seven. “We're getting to know the patients personally at a critical time in their life and we're seeing them every month and a half!” It’s important to see children early to screen for proper growth and development of the teeth and jaws. Many problems can be alleviated with simple procedures if caught early.
The complimentary, panoramic X-ray that Gronberg and Sugay offer to their patients makes this much easier.
But Gronberg Orthodontics doesn't only work hard to stay up to date with technology, they stay connected to their community. Their Facebook status is certainly not lacking in smiles. The page showcases a constant stream of beaming patients and Gronberg, Sugay and their team posing for braces removal celebrations, holding treats delivered from patients or celebrating their annual summer pool party. Though the photos go back for years, Gronberg Orthodontics’ caring reputation goes back even further, making one thing for certain: smiles never go out of style.
Falling Into Fashion
Embracing the trends of Fall 2024
ARTICLE BY AIMEE BUCKERT
As the scorching Texas summer gives way to slightly cooler days, it’s time to start dreaming of cozy sweater weather. While we wait for the weather to align with those dreams, let’s take a closer look at the upcoming fall trends for 2024. From the return of leopard prints, to luxurious knits and more relaxed silhouettes, this season promises a perfect blend of bold and comfortable styles.
LEOPARD: BOLD YET NEUTRAL
Leopard print will make a striking comeback this fall but with a twist. It’s moving into neutral territory, think softer shades of beige, taupe and soft brown, allowing for a more
subtle yet sophisticated approach. Pairing a leopard-print silk skirt with a solid knit sweater is an easy way to seamlessly blend boldness with everyday wear.
KNITWEAR: LUXURIOUS COMFORT
Knitwear will reign supreme this fall, offering a collaboration of leisure and luxury that meets the growing demand for comfortable yet stylish daily wear. Women will love the oversized cardigans, funnel necks, vests and dresses, providing both functionality and style. Men will gravitate towards vintage inspired knitwear, including crew necks,
cardigans and vests, embodying the grandpa core aesthetic. These pieces will reflect a comfortable style that feels timeless yet trendy.
AUTUMN HUES: COVETED COLORS
This fall, the standout color will be green, with shades of olive and khaki perfectly complimenting the traditional autumn palette of burgundy, rusts and browns. Green evokes a much needed sense of calm and tranquility in these chaotic times, while offering a nod to sustainability and eco-friendly choices. Surprisingly, bright reds and shades of gray will also prevail, adding depth and variety to your fall wardrobe.
DENIM DETAIL: RELAXED AND VERSATILE
Denim remains a cornerstone of fall fashion, emphasizing naturally wider CONTINUED >
silhouettes for a laid-back yet polished look. Women will see a resurgence of flare jeans and high waists. Barrel leg jeans allow for a comfortable silhouette with an elevated feel. Men can breathe again in relaxed fits like carpenter and cargo styles. Dark wash straight leg styles hold enduring popularity for men and women, cementing their status as a staple in any wardrobe. For a bold approach, try a denim-ondenim look, mixing washes and textures.
STYLISH OUTERWEAR: FORM MEETS FUNCTION
Outerwear is a statement this season, with a variety of styles to suit every taste. Women will see faux fur, leather moto styles and puffer coats and vests, ensuring equal amounts of warmth and style. Men will appreciate the classic trench coats and bomber jackets that offer sophistication and practicality.
Shopping local boutiques and Texas brands is the best way to find these fabulous fall trends. For the latest styles for women, visit TBK - The Bees Knees and Charmed by Ryann, two fresh and exciting boutiques located in the Painted Tree in Highland Village. For on-trend menswear this fall, shop Texas favorites like Stag Provisions and Signature Stag.
