LIFESTYLE LETTER
Congratulations! You Won the Starring Role. Welcome to “The Style issue.” Congratulations! You just found out that you are to star in a blockbuster movie called “The Rest of Your Life.” You have full creative freedom over the script, the wardrobe, even the cast. You can choose to change nothing, make some minor rewrites or recreate an entirely new character. What kind of character do you want to portray a hero or villain? Are you more Johnny Cash or Johnny Depp, Audrey Hepburn or Gal Gadot? Maybe you start off by reading our article in this issue called What is your color season? Don’t underestimated the value of knowing what colors make you look your best. If you met your identical twin on the street today, what would you think of them? What would you tell them to change? Do the words coming out of your mouth lately sound a exactly like one of your parents? Maybe flip the script. Find some more creative words or positive synonyms or phrases and practice them for a month. Find a new cologne or perfume. Locate a unique item to wear like a pin, cool shoes or an unusual hat. Your mission if you choose to accept it: Figure out what you want to change about yourself and get to work. There are some great businesses in this magazine and in Conroe that can help. Here are some tips that I have learned. It is easier to act cool when you feel cool. You live in Texas, and it gets hot. The best suit or dress materials for a warm climate are lightweight and breathable options like linen, cotton, tropical wool and seersucker. Consider learning an unusual hobby like bee keeping, or origami at least briefly, so you have something fun to speak about at cocktail parties. Master one good karaoke song, just in case. And, always have one good joke up your sleeve which will need to be refreshed occasionally. Get out there and explore the best that Conroe has to offer and find one of those one-of-a-kind treasures. Go to a live play, a concert or a theme party. Be proud to show off the new style that you have created. Make it your goal to find the perfect party outfit, the best steak in town or a great date night place (even if you’re married.) Are you ready for your close-up?

THRIFT WITH Intention Thrifty tips to curate your wardrobe and define your personal style in confidence! ARTICLE BY COLLEEN CHILCOAT | PHOTOGRAPHY BY TRESA PHOTOGRAPHY
As seasons change and trends shift, it can be challenging to stay stylish. Janel of My Mayne Wardrobe is a personal stylist and resident thrifting connoisseur, so we asked her for tips on thrifty styling. She said a curated closet takes time and planning, but she promises it's worth it, and you can build it on a budget.
Thrift Local First.
Shop second hand first because it’s sustainable, and it offers access to budget friendly high-quality finds. One key to avoid thrift overwhelm is understanding the different shop styles. Consignment shops are often highly curated, and you'll find a mix of luxury and name brand. At thrift shops, go in with an open mind and be ready to hunt for unique pieces. JANEL PRO TIP: Visit thrift stores at the beginning of the year when everyone is purging and decluttering.
Thrift with Intention.
Dedicate time to identifying what outfits make you feel confident and what’s important to your personal style. Check Pinterest for inspiration and shop your closet to pull together looks at home. Identify pieces your missing, and then, it’s time to shop! JANEL PRO TIP: Shop coats at thrift shops. Leather, cashmere, trench and bomber – there is usually a wide range to choose from.
Thrift Your List.
Create a thrift list and save it to your phone – it helps you make intentional and thoughtful purchases and avoid overspending. Before you check out, make sure each new piece checks all the boxes. Does it make me feel confident? Can I style it more than three ways? Does it align with my current lifestyle? Does it add value or fill a gap in my closet?
JA N E L’ S S T Y L E T I P S :
Five things every stylish woman needs? Cute flats, white tee, great jeans, colorful jacket and a versatile dress. One thing in your wardrobe you can’t live without. My blazers! They just complete an outfit and create a look that’s pulled together.

“I encourage clients not to worr y about what they ‘should’ be wearing and f ind a st yle that resonates with them so they can step out each day with conf idence. The right outf its can be healing.”
Shifting from a hospital setting where she wore scrubs every day to business casual office, Janel Mayne of My Mayne Wardrobe experienced what she calls a style meltdown in her 20’s. She embraced the change, taught herself how to feel confident in her clothes again and reclaimed her personal style. Now, she offers a personal styling service that helps women feel empowered. She even sources secondhand pieces for clients, proving to professionals that they can stay stylish, and stay on budget. Her clients often come from serving professions, including nurses, teachers, flight attendants and medical professionals, who get stuck in “uniform syndrome” and need help finding themselves through fashion. She’s recently worked with new moms and retired military veterans. “New moms often find themselves in a new season with a new baby and completely different style needs,” she said. “Their bodies have changed, and they need help adapting with comfortable, stylish options. It is possible to be an amazing mother and maintain your ideality and style.”

HALEY GARCIA RETURNS TO CONROE WITH A VISION OF LEGACY AND LEADERSHIP Haley Garcia
HEART OF HOMECOMING 16
M UST SE E | L I FE + C ULTU RE
Homecoming with Heart: Haley Garcia Returns to Conroe with a Vision for Legacy and Leadership When Haley Garcia speaks of Conroe, Texas, her voice softens—like one returning not just to a place, but to a purpose. A longtime leader in Houston’s luxury real estate market and a respected business coach and entrepreneur, Garcia has built a career that blends sharp acumen with soulful intention. Now, with the open-
me, this move is about more than real estate. It’s about legacy, leadership, and creating something sustainable for the next generation.” That ethos now guides her renewed presence in Conroe, where she’s leading her team with a fresh, deeply personal focus on relationships, service, and community transformation. And transformation is not a word she uses lightly. Garcia has watched Conroe
ing of GR Property Group, a division of the Garcia Real Estate Group, in Conroe, she’s circling back to her roots in a way that feels both personal and poetic. “This isn’t just about expanding a business,” she shares. “It’s about coming full circle.” Garcia knows the power of place. It was just a few miles from Conroe where she built her first real estate company, one that grew to $180 million in annual sales before she transitioned into leadership roles and executive coaching. But even as her influence expanded across markets, Conroe remained a touchstone. “There’s something incredibly grounding about returning to the roots of where you first dreamed big,” she says. “To
evolve from a quiet town into one of the fastest-growing areas in Texas. All without losing its soul. “What’s inspired me most is the energy around entrepreneurship and community-driven development,” she reflects. “Families are choosing Conroe not just for affordability, but for quality of life. Local businesses are thriving. The arts are growing. People are intentionally planting roots here.” It’s this balance of forward momentum and foundational character that Garcia sees as essential to Conroe’s next chapter. And nowhere is that vision more tangible than in her work with the Grand Ranch communities— land-rich developments offering 1.5 to 5-acre homesites just outside town.
“CONROE HAS ALWAYS HELD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART. THERE’S SOMETHING INCREDIBLY GROUNDING ABOUT RETURNING TO THE ROOTS OF WHERE YOU FIRST DREAMED BIG.”

“This isn’t just another development,” Garcia says, “It’s a vision for intentional growth.” The Grand Ranch lifestyle marries wide-open Texas land with modern amenities—fiber internet, underground utilities, county-maintained roads, and no MUD tax. Lakes, trails, and shared outdoor spaces invite a life centered in nature, while the design ethos reflects a respect for both heritage and progress. “For us, these communities represent the kind of future we want to help build,” she adds. “It’s about freedom, privacy, long-term value—and honoring the land itself.” But Garcia’s influence extends beyond real estate. As a certified executive coach and leadership mentor, she’s built a parallel sterling reputation guiding others to discover clarity, purpose, and resilience in both business and life. Her coaching practice is rooted in the principles she’s lived by: responsibility, emotional endurance, and self-awareness. “You can’t grow what you won’t own,” she says. “And you can’t lead others well if you don’t know who you are.” Those tenets have served her through every season—from building companies to navigating transitions and now, leading her teams right here in her hometown. They’re the same values she imparts to the next generation of real estate professionals under her wing. Leadership, to Garcia, is not a title. It’s a responsibility. That sense of purpose also shows in her local philanthropic partnerships. One organization close to her heart
“WHAT ONCE FELT LIKE A QUIET, SMALL-TOWN COMMUNITY HAS NOW BECOME ONE OF THE FASTESTGROWING AREAS IN TEXAS, YET IT’S MANAGED TO HOLD ONTO ITS HEART AND CHARACTER. THAT BALANCE IS RARE, AND IT’S PART OF WHAT MAKES CONROE SO SPECIAL.”
and where she serves on the Board of Directors is New Danville, a community that empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. For Garcia, the connection is more than charitable. It’s transformational. “What resonates most is how they lead with heart,” she says. “New Danville reminds me that business and service aren’t separate, they’re interconnected.” It’s that fusion of impact and intention that defines Garcia’s journey back to Conroe. Whether walking a property line in Grand Ranch, mentoring a young agent, or lending her influence to a worthy cause, her work reflects more than market knowledge—it reflects meaning. As Conroe continues to grow, Haley Garcia isn’t just returning to her hometown. She’s helping shape its future. And in doing so, she reminds us that coming home is less about geography and more about grounding ourselves in who we are, what we value, and how we choose to serve.

Inside 321 Skin Glow Med Spa, Where Science Meets Style
3-2-1: Glow In an age of intentional living, skincare has evolved into more than a daily habit—it has become a personal ritual, a reflection of individual style as intimate as wardrobe or décor. At the forefront of this refined approach is 321 Skin Glow, a med spa located in The Woodlands and grounded in science, aesthetics, and understated elegance. This serene destination is quickly emerging as a trusted name among those who consider skincare not just a routine task, but a meaningful investment in self-expression and long-term wellness.
22
S PA DAY | BEAUTY
The spa was founded by seasoned beauty industry leaders Jaime Castle and Dr. Laurence Dryer, whose extensive backgrounds with companies like Obagi Cosmeceuticals and Clinical Skin have shaped their vision. Their goal wasn’t to replicate the med spa model; it was to redefine it. 321 Skin Glow was created as a sanctuary where science meets style, and where personalization and performance are treated with equal care. Nestled in the Harper Preserve center, the space speaks volumes. Minimal and tranquil, the interiors embrace soft lighting, organic textures, and clean architectural lines that prioritize privacy and comfort. Rather than a clinical atmosphere, visitors step into a refined environment that feels more like a private wellness atelier. The service menu is both expansive and thoughtfully curated. Clients have access to advanced treatments such as Aerolase laser therapies, HydraFacials, and microneedling enhanced with exosomes, all administered by licensed professionals trained to deliver both results and reassurance. A lineup of customized facials allows for tailored skin correction and rejuvenation, while hair removal, weight loss therapies, and hair-restoration treatments provide a comprehensive approach to self-care. Beyond the treatment room, 321 Skin Glow distinguishes itself through its boutique dermaceutical offerings: a concise selection of high-efficacy skincare lines such as SkinBetter Science,
Revision Skincare, ZO Skin Health, Hydrinity, and Face Reality. Every product is vetted for clinical performance and ingredient integrity, with the spa operating as an authorized retailer for each line—an assurance of authenticity that’s increasingly rare. One of the spa’s most talked-about categories is its retinol collection, featuring six formulations that span from beginner to advanced. Clients are guided through product selection and proper integration, ensuring that even the most potent active ingredients align with skin type, tolerance, and lifestyle. This educational, hands-on approach to skincare positions the spa not merely as a provider, but as a partner in its clients’ long-term routines. Much of 321 Skin Glow’s refinement stems from the expertise behind the scenes. Castle and Dryer bring decades of innovation, strategy, and product development to the table. But the spa’s warm, stylish presence is made complete by Chief Medical Aesthetics Practitioner Lewie Silva, who joined the team in early 2025. Silva brings celebrity clientele experience and relatability, offering a balance of elevated care and approachable service to clients. This September, as style takes center stage, this modern beauty destination offers a timely reminder that elegance takes various forms—radiant skin, confidence, and a sense of ease are the new hallmarks of modern luxury. 321 Skin Glow is poised to help clients achieve all three.

Back to Basics
Clear Choice Acupuncture and Wellness is led by Alyson Bayer, an experienced and talented Acupuncturist, specializing in pain management and Chinese medicine. Alyson promotes a holistic approach to living at both work and home on her ranch in Montgomery, where she lives with her twin sons and mother.
FRESH AND LOCAL, THAT’S THE KEY
Alyson and her family have a container garden with fresh vegetables and herbs, including rosemary, spearmint, oregano, peppermint, and even catnip for their furry friend. However, if the gardening lifestyle isn’t calling you, consider partnering with a local organic farmer. Your fruits and vegetables will likely be in-season, rather than imported or harvested in the off-season. Alyson uses her herbs from the garden in cooking and grills out frequently. Alyson is an advocate for eating fresh and local options that generally supply higher nutrient content. "But when her twin 13 year olds have a hankering to drive through for a chicken sandwich or hamburger, she does not make a big deal about it, but instead tries to bring awareness to her twins on why they may have a headache or feel bad after eating the processed food." No matter your living arrangement, Alyson encourages everyone to spend time outdoors and promotes walking and playing together. Ground your bare feet in the soil and grasses. Feel purpose through your toils. Connect with nature and be out in the sunshine and sounds of nature. Alyson’s home is on an acre of property and backs up to a serene lake setting, where she set hard boundaries in the beginning of her career to be there for her family and to be present when at home, not at her practice.
BEST PRACTICES
Clear Choice Acupuncture and Wellness began in 2012 in Conroe. Alyson incorporates a lot of nutrition and supplement education into her acupuncture practice, helping to limit her patients intake of pharmaceuticals or elective surgeries." “I am passionate about clean living and eating, and better nutrition. Sometimes people do not understand how bad our food system is and what is truly not good for the body,” shares Alyson. “I like to educate others; it is hard to truly eat healthy and clean unless you live on your own farm and source your food.” Her grocery store recommendations are all whole foods - anything that can be taken home to make and cook rather than reheating meals. On the Clear Choice Acupuncture website are some links to nutritional food items, and also a survey to help shape a custom nutrition plan. Alyson shared that a lot of chronic pain and issues inside the body are from poor nutrition habits. One popular nasal therapy at Clear Choice Acupuncture and Wellness is the O3 Reboot Therapy, which incorporates ozone that aids for fogginess, allergies, and other side effects from infections. Alyson works mainly with adults but she educates parents, especially in the realm of nutrition and holistic living. “If you are buying vitamins from a big box store, you are wasting your money and they can be more toxic than beneficial; "synthetic vitamins, which are the ones most commonly sold, are not as effective as one might think and are frequently made from petroleum products or things like corn and soy", and are not as effective as one might think says Alyson. “Rethink taking whole food vitamins that come from large organic farms.” Basics like cutting down on sugar and processed foods can be life-changing over time. It’s a habit that Alyson promotes and lives by, and she no longer has headaches when she’s living and eating more clean .

Have you ever heard someone reference a season when discussing their wardrobe? If so, then you’re one step closer to understanding the world of House of Colour’s Bethany Straub. After working in the fashion industry for over 25 years, Straub relied on her expertise to develop the House of Colour Woodlands location. With color analysis, she strives to foster a client’s confidence and individuality by enhancing their features, clothing, style, and makeup. In her two-hour Color Analysis session, Straub discusses how color relates to the four seasons that make up a color palette. She then holds up multicolored drapes to show the skin’s color changes—features brighten with the right tones and dull with the wrong ones. Once she discovers her client’s season, Straub reviews the color palette, including the best shades for clothing, makeup, and hair. House of Colour also offers a Style Analysis, closet clean-outs, personal shopping, packing for trips and advanced makeup techniques. Straub hopes her clients walk away with clarity and direction about their style and a newfound confidence that makes them feel amazing. She accommodates groups of up to three, offering a fun experience for families or an enjoyable girls’ trip. For appointments call 832.510.6651. Straub hand-picks items for specialized wardrobes.

this unexpected love affair, fashion and interiors are more than just a simple pairing—they are rooted in culture, creativity, and the human desire for self-expression. As conscious consumers of the 21st century, participating in a retail landscape that is oversaturated and struggling to adapt to the ever-changing demands of the modern customer, our purchasing power should not only respond to a feeling of want but also prioritize items that reflect who we are and who we aspire to be. This is clearly visible through the representation of fashion and interiors.
ARTICLE BY TYLER AMADEUS | PHOTOGRAPHY BY ADRIEN KING AND ALEC WALWORTH
Although we tend to consider cost-per-wear primarily when it comes to clothing, this same principle applies to furniture and the function it brings to the home. Aesthetics and functionality both play a role in this pairing, painting a picture for the rest of the world of who the wearer is and how they live in their space. The woman who wears a blazer with sharp shoulders that makes her feel powerful in her everyday life—or the black dress that gives her a necessary boost of confidence—may naturally gravitate toward sleek, modern furniture that feels equally strong and elevates the space where the modern woman thrives. In the same way, someone who prefers an effortless ensemble—like their favorite white T-shirt and comfortable denim jeans—may also look for home pieces that are functional and make their guests
feel at ease. Even a handmade rug, one that sparks conversation about where it was found and adds a focal point to a room, mirrors how we search our closets for a sweater tied to a cherished memory. Just as we carefully choose outfits to express ourselves, it’s equally important to ensure that our living spaces are designed with the same intention. More than ever, modern buyers are making purchasing decisions based on personal morals and values, forming a new wave of consumers who seek products that are both high-quality and environmentally or socially conscious, whether for themselves or their homes. The following imagery affirms that living a timeless lifestyle across all aspects of life is possible through the thoughtful styling of sustainable clothing and vintage furniture. As the modern retail landscape continues to evolve, it’s become increasingly vital to make conscious consumer choices—ones that allow us to express our truest selves through both our wardrobes and the places we call home.
