A friend mentioned one potential hiccup: Manitou didn’t have “healing waters.” Actually, it did. Tudor knew about the Seven Minute Spring, a sacred Native American spring that been inoperable since the 1960s. “That sent her on a mission to bring the healing waters of Manitou to all people,” said Samantha Bachechi, SunWater Spa’s marketing director. Tudor returned home and worked with Native tribes and Manitou

ter, the tubs are amazing. They span several floors of outdoor decks with gorgeous pathways connecting them. And that view! The saunas sit on the ground floor, near the entrance to the hotand-cold plunge tubs. And don’t forget the adjacent indoor “garden pool,” where you can simply float or swim until your cares disappear. Great for a date night, a girls’ day or a bit of quiet time to yourself. The whole place is considered a “whisper zone” – a welcome departure from the clatter of daily life. MASSAGES + OTHER SERVICES Tucked behind the main building and up a few steps is a quaint structure called Tava House – a former apartment building that SunWater Spa has lovingly converted into its spa building. This is where bodywork, facials and other hands-on services happen. Their most popular massage is the Ātma, a combination of therapeutic and relaxing massage flow, customized for each visitor. AFTER YEARS OF WORKING IN THE RESTAURANT INDUSTRY, LUCAS FRYE BEGAN DREAMING UP WHAT A PLACE OF HIS OWN WOULD LOOK LIKE. Along the way, Lucas linked up with Joe Compana and began planning a space of his own. Three years later, the perfect location opened up in downtown Colorado Springs. From the start, they knew Cork & Cask would be a whiskey-and-wine focused space, however, they also offer an outstanding selection of local craft beer. Walking past cozy outdoor fireplaces, through the threshold, you’re greeted with elaborate chandeliers and tall-backed chairs wrapped in velvet. Sitting down at a quaint table for two or with a large table of friends, both settings are enticing and comfortable. Topped with kind staff and a menu where all needs tried, this before and after dinner spot should be a staple in your repertoire. The space not only adds a fabulous drink and tasting menu to our city, inclusive of my favorite pretzels and cheese sauce in town, but it contributes to the aligned goals of so many restaurateurs that now call downtown their home. We love this. Cork & Cask makes it easy to nestle in for a while any day of the week between 3 pm and 1 am. WEST + MAIN REALTOR TAKES A DIFFERENT APPROACH ARTICLE ASHLEY HAMERSHOCK PHOTOGRAPHY LAURA RACHELLE PHOTOGRAPHY
REALTOR COLSIE SEARCY DOES THINGS DIFFERENTLY. After working for several big names in several states, an independently owned and operated boutique real estate brokerage caught her eye: West + Main Homes. “I fell in love with the way they were doing marketing,” Searcy said.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT? One word: Hyperlocal. “The big name boxes are kind of everywhere, so their marketing and their way of doing real estate is more… by the book,” she said. “With the boutique, the marketing is different. The vibe is different. The feel is different. It’s a little bit more individualized.”
SOCIAL MEDIA Sellers used to favor real estate agents who mailed out glossy flyers. These days? It’s all about social media. And that is where Searcy shines. Two years in a row, Property Sparks has named her one of the top 15 agents in Colorado Springs on social media. And
Having been in the business about a decade, she had

Colorado Springs, she seized the opportunity to become one of the company’s first Colorado Springs-based agents. “The boutique brokerage was definitely more my wheelhouse,” she said. “It’s really incredible.” We aren’t trying to be the biggest brokerage in town - but we do make it our mission to treat every client with the same level of care, the company’s website says.
“I make sure everything I am putting out is getting seen by lots of eyes,” she said. “Social media is completely where it is. Everybody jumps to social media to look for everything. It’s really a way for people to do all the ground work before they even choose who they’re going to work with.” But marketing will only get you so far. Real estate is also about relationships. And having grown up here, Searcy has a wide, deep network.
COLORADO SPRINGS MARKET It’s hot, hot, hot. “We’re such a desired place to live that we can’t even keep up with the amount of people moving in,” Searcy said.
“I really have my finger on the pulse of the city,” she said. “I’m really engaged in this city and what’s going on in this city.” In other words, she said, she knows how to win – even in wild times like these.
“That’s why the market is so crazy right now. We don’t have enough inventory to support the number of people we have coming. It’s pretty intense.” In other words, demand is far outpacing inventory. It’s a seller’s market – particularly for homes worth $400,000 or less. Great

LOCAL’S CHOICE (CONTINUED)
A place like the Broadmoor’s Cloud Camp is unmatched for these moments. By way of horseback, foot or vehicle, travel to an experience quite literally above the clouds. “Relaxing here is like being wrapped in a cashmere pashmina. Sit with your cocktail and watch the storm come in. There is no bad stay here,” Krista Heinicke emphasized, having experienced the Broadmoor in several ways. So, fill the copper tub in your lodge room and soak. Or gather some girlfriends, book all five rooms in the lodge and soak up the ambiance. Go for a long, guided hike. Complete your stay with an exclusive legacy facial on the main grounds after decompressing in the Mountain Room of the spa. It’s second to none. TAKE YOUR PICK None of these experiences are hindered by a minimum or maximum stay. It’s your time – you choose. Do it all, ladies. You’ll never regret lifelong laughter, exceptional experiences or time spent with the ones you love.
